Richard Beck
ATLANTA - Richard S. Beck, 67, formerly of DeLand, died Thursday at Emory University Hospital.
Mr. Beck, an Air Force veteran, was born in Santa Cruz, Calif., and moved to this area in 1980 from Naples, later moving to Atlanta. He was an employee of the Florida Department of Transportation until his retirement in 1980.
Survivors include two sons, Andrew, Bellingham, Wash., and Joseph, Fort Stewart, Ga.; two daughters, Evelyn Mahler, Atlanta, and Annette Booth, DeLand; a sister, Raylene Oden, Hot Springs, Ark.; and four grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to the Leukemia Society of America, Georgia Chapter, 2625 Cumberland Parkway, Suite 205, Atlanta, Ga. 30339. The Cremation Society of the South, Atlanta, is in charge.

Vacile Bishop
DAYTONA BEACH - Vacile Bishop, 76, of North Caroline Street, a former cook for the Piccadilly Cafeteria, died Saturday at Coquina Nursing Home, Ormond Beach.
Mrs. Bishop was born in Live Oak, and moved to this area in 1952 from her birthplace. She enjoyed cooking, watching television, cleaning, and children.
Survivors include three daughters, Glenda Baswell, Jacqueline and Jancie Bishop, all of Daytona Beach; 15 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great-grandchildren. Herbert Thompson is in charge.

Serafin Dobczynski
ORMOND BEACH - Serafin Dobczynski, 89, of Hernandez Avenue, former owner of the Alma Shipping Company, died Friday at Coquina Center.
Mr. Dobczynski, a World War II veteran of the Polish underground resistance, was born in Poland, and moved to this area in 1998 from New York. He was a member of Polonia, New York. He attended the Farm and Agriculture University in Poland, and was the recipient of the Virtuti Militari, the Polish equivalent of the Purple Heart. In addition to opening a vanguard shipping business dealing with a nation behind the Iron Curtain, he opened the Pol-Art, New York. He enjoyed art.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Halina; a son, John Stankiewicz, California; a daughter, Diane Calapiz, Ormond Beach; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Volusia/Flagler Counties, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange 32119. Volusia County Cremation Society, Daytona Beach, is in charge.

Eugene Dove
DEBARY - Eugene Burtner Dove, 75, of Terra Ceia Court, a retired member of the armed services, died Friday at home.
Mr. Dove, an Army and Air Force veteran of World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War, was born in Harrisonburg, Va., and moved to this area in 1977 from Springfield, Va. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and the Non-Commissioned Officers Association.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Wilma; a son, Michael, Deltona; a daughter, Nancy Stevens, Casselberry; and six grandchildren. Deltona Memorial Funeral Home, Orange City, is in charge.

Irving Goldberg
DAYTONA BEACH - Irving Goldberg, 76, of North Atlantic Avenue, the former owner of Central Florida Home Health Care, died Friday at home.
Mr. Goldberg, an Army veteran of World War II, was born in New York City, and moved to this area in 1975 from Miami. He was a member of Temple Beth-El and the Oceanside Country Club. He was a graduate of Pace College, New York City, having recieved his degree in accounting. Prior to his work in the health care field, he was an accountant for Allied Stores, New York City, and Jordan Marsh Department Stores, Miami.
Survivors include a son, Richard, Coral Springs; a daughter, Ellen Stephens, Ormond Beach; and three grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to the National Parkinson's Foundation, P. O. Box 450, Huntington Valley, Pa. 19006. Haigh-Black, Daytona Beach, is in charge.

Clarence Hall
PORT ORANGE - Clarence Lee Hall, 96, of Champagne Circle, a former assembler for Berkley Pump Company, East Point, Ga., died Thursday at Clyatt's Quality Care Nursing Home, Daytona Beach.
Mr. Hall was born in Acworth, Ga., and moved to this area in 1976 from Atlanta. He enjoyed gardening.
Survivors include his wife of 77 years, Mary; a son, Donald, Marietta, Ga.; two daughters, Catherine Elam and Ann Hall, both of Port Orange; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, Ormond Beach, is in charge.

Janice Jones
ORMOND BEACH - Janice "Jan" Jones, 57, of Pine Street, a retired bookkeeper for Volusia Office Supply, died Friday at Hospice Care Center, Port Orange.
Mrs. Jones, a graduate of Mainland High School, was born in Douglas, Ga., and moved back to this area in 1975 from Long Island, N.Y. She was a member of the Flomich Avenue Baptist Church. She enjoyed fishing, riding motorcycles and traveling.
Survivors include her husband of 23 years, James; a son, Frank Miller, Minnesota; a daughter, Patti Walters, Ormond Beach; two sisters, Nola Stone-Smith, Ormond Beach, and Kitty Yelverton, Loudon, Tenn.; a brother, Stanton Story, Edgewater; a grandchild; and a great-grandchild. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Volusia/Flagler Counties, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange 32119. Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, Daytona Beach, is in charge.

Angela Kadlik
ORMOND BEACH - Angela G. Kadlik, 77, of Benjamin Drive, a retired seamstress, died Saturday at Memorial Hospital-Ormond Beach.
Mrs. Kadlik was born in Bari, Italy, and moved to this area in 1968 from Nautica, Mass. She was a member of St. Brendan's Catholic Church. She enjoyed making childrens clothing.
Survivors include a son, Victor Larivee, Santa Monica, Calif.; a daughter, Stella Roach, Gainesville; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Haigh-Black, Ormond Beach, is in charge.

Joan Madison
ORMOND BEACH - Joan Grace Madison, 68, a former nursing assistant, died Friday at North Westchester Medical Center.
Mrs. Madison was born in Minneola, N.Y., and moved to this area several years ago from Long Island, N.Y. She enjoyed playing tennis and Scrabble, and gardening.
Survivors include two sons, William, Coram, N.Y., and Paul, Sharon Springs, N.Y.; a daughter, Joanne Lovitz, Katonah, N.Y.; two brothers, Eugene Lynch, Central Islip, N.Y., and Robert Lynch, Phoenix; three sisters, Margaret Wagner, Albany, N.Y., Sister Anne Lynch, New York, and Veronica Frasier, Ormond Beach; and twelve grandchildren. Macken Mortuary, Inc., Long Island, is in charge.

Robbye C. Martin
DAYTONA BEACH - Robbye C. Martin, 76, of Idlewild Avenue, retired director of the Sugar N' Spice Day Care Center, died Saturday at a local health care facility.
Mrs. Martin was born in DeLand, and returned to the Daytona Beach area more than 30 years ago from New York. She was a member of New Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
Survivors include her granddaughter, Robby Gould, Daytona Beach, who provided for her care. Arthur Mack is in charge.

John Mattei
DAYTONA BEACH - John G. Mattei, 77, of Granada Avenue, a former musician, died Saturday at Horizon Specialty Center.
Mr. Mattei, an Army veteran of World War II, was born in Kearny, N.J., and moved to this area several years ago from New Jersey. He was a member of St. Brendan's Catholic Church, the Catholic War Veterans, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the Musicians' Guild, Essex County, N.J.
Survivors include a sister, Helen Setaro, Boynton Beach. Memorial donations may be made to St. Brendan's Catholic Church, 1000 Ocean Shore Boulevard, Ormond Beach 32174. Baldwin-Hughey is in charge.

Phyllis Niles
NEW SMYRNA BEACH - Phyllis A. Niles, 78, of Quail Hollow, the former owner and operator of a variety store, Bath, Maine, died Saturday at Bert Fish Medical Center.
Mrs. Niles was born in Houlton, Maine, and moved to this area many years ago as a winter resident.
Survivors include a brother, Dana Lane, Bath Maine; and two sisters, Faye Hogan, Phippsburg, Maine, and Virginia Mullaney, Bath. Baldwin-Hughey is in charge.

Irene Yacks
DELAND - Irene C. Yacks, 77, of High Street, a server in a restaurant prior to her retirement in 1971, died Thursday at Mariner Health Care Center.
Mrs. Yacks was born in Union Town, Pa., and moved to this area in 1963 from Miami. She was a member of Moose Lodge #665. She enjoyed yard sales.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda Chilson and Irene Maunez, both of DeLand; a brother, Edward Kuty, Southgate, Mich.; a sister, Bertha Dolcini, Daytona Beach; six grandchildren; and nine grandchildren. Carpenter Curry is in charge.

Mable Beechem
SOUTH DAYTONA -- Mable Beechem, 89, of Forest Lake Boulevard, a native of Cass City, Mich., died Tuesday at Alliance Center for Health Care, DeLand.
Mrs. Beechem, a homemaker, moved to this area 30 years ago from Michigan. She served as a Democratic party delegate and on the Clinton County, Mich., Board of Education. She was named to Who's Who in America and Who's Who in the Mid-West. She enjoyed world traveling, swimming, playing tennis, creative writing and cultural events.
Survivors include a son, Mike, Pensacola; two daughters, Katherine Ruhlman, DeLand, and Jane Atkinson, New Smyrna Beach; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to a library of one's choice. Coastal Cremation, Palm Coast, is in charge.

Pearl Dixon
DELAND -- Pearl Crews Dixon, 93, of West Lisbon Avenue, a vendor at the DeLand Flea Market, died Tuesday at a care facility in Crescent City.
Mrs. Dixon was born in Moultrie, Ga., and lived in DeLand for the past 50 years. She enjoyed gardening.
Survivors include a son, Donald Crews, DeLand; three daughters, Jeanette Hartley, Pierson, Vivian Glasgow, Butler, Tenn., and Shirley Frank, Lake Como; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, Belleview, is in charge.

Anna Friel
ORMOND BEACH -- Anna Sarah Friel, 92, of North Ridgewood Avenue, a former machinist, died Tuesday at Memorial Hospital-Ormond Beach.
Ms. Friel was born in West Goshen, Pa., and came here 16 years ago from Malvern, Pa.
Survivors include a sister, Margaret Brown, Ormond Beach. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 111 N. Frederick Ave., Suite 100, Daytona Beach, FL 32114. Ormond Funeral Home is in charge.
