Kathy Le Prothero
Kathy Le Prothero passed away September 16. She was born October 18, 1962 in Coral Gables, Florida to Frank and Nell Prothero. Kathy graduated from Sandalwood High School in 1980 and then went ton to graduate from Tampa Technical College with an AS Degree with Honors in Graphic Design. She is survived by her brother, Wayne; aunts, Bonnie Harrison and Lois Ferguson; uncles, Richard Prothero and George Champion and many loving cousins. A memorial Service was held November 15 at Peace Presbyterian Church, 2300 Southside Blvd., Jacksonville, Florida 32216.

Mary "Molly" E. (Cashman) Somers
Mary "Molly" E. (Cashman) Somers, October 31, in her 84th year. Beloved mother of Christine E. Somers of Willis-town, Susan Somers of Coral Gables, John I. Somers III of Downingtown, Elizabeth S. Ottaway (J.P.) of Grosse Pointe MI and the late Kathleen K. Somers. Also survived by 8 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral Mass was Nov. 5, In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Devon Country Fair, P.O. Box 925, Southeastern PA 19399 or to Camilla Hall, c/o Sr. Patricia McGuigan, P.O. Box 100, King and Fraser Roads, Immaculata PA 19345.

Rose Thurer
Rose Thurer, of Miami, formerly of Ft. Lauderdale and Hicksville, New York, age 100, passed away on November 6, 2009. Beloved wife of the late Carl Thurer, mother of Richard (Penny), Robert (Shari), loving grandmother of Margaret Anne (Simon Stevens), Katherine Arlen (Susan Stein), Sara Mark, and great-grandmother of Samuel and Hannah Stevens. She was adored by her many nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by her family and by all who loved her for her many kindnesses, wit and wisdom. Interment was in New York. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Miami Jewish Home for the Aged at Douglas Gardens.

James I. Abernethy
James I. Abernethy, 82, of Western Springs died December 12, 2009, at Berkshire Nursing and Rehab Center in Forest Park, Ill. He was born July 5, 1927, in Fort Atkinson, WI. He was an equipment salesman most of his life. Prior to moving to Western Springs area in 2001, he lived in Crystal Lake for 45 years. He married his wife Joan on December 22, 1954. Survivors include his wife, Joan; children, Jill Daley of Coral Gables, John (Maura) Abernethy of Western Springs, Joel Aberethy of Aurora, CO, Julia (Tom) Ernst of Steamboat Springs, CO, and Jed (Jane) Abernethy of Arlington Heights; grandchildren, Cory Abernethy, Brian Daley, Kara, Jack and Meg Abernethy; Kelly, Cody and Jackson Ernst; Conor and Shea Abernethy; and sister, Patricia (Roger) Stiles of Jim Falls, WI. A memorial service took place December 19, in All Saints Episcopal Church, 4370 Woodland Ave., Western Springs. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Memorials to the church or charity of one's choice willl be appreciated.

Marillyn Bauer
DAYTONA BEACH -- Marillyn T. Bauer, 83, of Beach Street, a native of Amesbury, Mass., died Tuesday at Halifax Medical Center.
Mrs. Bauer, a homemaker, came here from Amesbury. She enjoyed traveling and reading.
Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Madacsi, Daytona Beach; a brother, Gordon Taylor, Newbury, Mass.; two sisters, Joan Ahearn, Falls Church, Va., and Norma Eaton, Salisbury, Mass.; and two grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to the ARNI Foundation, 126 W. International Speedway Blvd., Daytona Beach, FL 32114. Baggett & Summers is in charge.

Jack Burch
NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- Jack Vernon Burch, 89, of Bouchelle Drive, a resident since 1993, died Wednesday at Bert Fish Medical Center.
Mr. Burch, an Army veteran of World War II, was born in Moundsville, W.Va. He worked in real estate and moved here from Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. He enjoyed fishing, boating, golfing and Native American artifacts.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Hattiebelle; a son, Riley, New Smyrna Beach; two daughters, Jaclyn Daly, Richmond, Va., and RaeBelle Saddoris, Oregon City, Ore.; a brother, William, Cuyahoga Falls; a sister, Mary Burch, Fort Lauderdale; and four grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Volusia - Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129. Baldwin Brothers Memorial is in charge.

Nolan Dotson
ROME, Ga. -- Nolan Dave Dotson, 69, of Rome, a former 17-year Daytona Beach resident, died Tuesday at home.
Born in Georgia, Mr. Dotson was a retired heavy equipment hauler.
Survivors include his wife, Susan; four sons, David Brown, Daytona Beach, Charles Dotson, Gainesville, and Nolan and Dustin Dotson, both of Rome; three daughters, Nolene Pruitt, Dorene Elkins and Lori Dotson, and a brother, Olin Dotson, all of Rome; three sisters, Bertha Mae "Tootsie" House, Rome, and Frances Clinton and Julie England, both of Lafayette, Ga.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, Rome, is in charge.

Allen Eager
OAK HILL -- Allen Eager, 76, of Holbrook Road, a musician from the 1940s to the 1980s who played jazz, swing and bebop, died Sunday at Daytona Beach Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Born in New York City, Mr. Eager moved to this area in 1985 from Miami Beach.
Survivors include a son, Jacob, Miami; two daughters, Omine Eager, Miami, and Zoe Griffin, Roswell, Ga.; and two granddaughters. Haigh-Black, Daytona Beach, is in charge.

Henry Enkler
ORMOND BEACH -- Henry Webster Enkler, 89, of Beach Street, a retired landscape contractor for the Los Angeles County School District, died Tuesday at Florida Hospital-Ormond Memorial.
Born in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., Mr. Enkler moved here in 1991 from New York. He was an Army Air Forces veteran of World War II and Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He enjoyed crossword puzzles.
Survivors include a brother, Clayton, Poughkeepsie; and a caregiver, Anthony Purvis, Ormond Beach. Volusia Memorial, Ormond Beach, is in charge.

James Friend
PORT ORANGE -- James S. Friend, 67, of Bayview Lane, a retired security guard for Lever Bros., Baltimore, died Monday at Halifax Medical Center, Daytona Beach.
Mr. Friend, a Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War, was born in Pennsylvania. He came here in 1990 from Baltimore. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars. He enjoyed motorcycles.
Survivors include Maryetta Nemire, Port Orange, who provided for his care. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Volusia - Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129. Volusia Memorial, Port Orange, is in charge.

Kenneth Henderson
PALM COAST -- Kenneth Y. Henderson, 76, of Pepperdine Drive, a resident since 1999, died Tuesday at Florida Hospital-Ormond Memorial.
Mr. Henderson, a Navy veteran of World War II, was born in White Plains, N.Y. A retired electrician, he moved to this area from Bostwick. He enjoyed crossword puzzles.
Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Mildred; five stepsons, Brian Stubblefield, Palm Coast, Shane Stubblefield, Lady Lake, Scott Stubblefield, Loxahatchee, Jeffery Stubblefield, Boynton Beach, and Darrin Stubblefield, Cartersville, Ga.; a stepdaughter, Janet Rogers, Clearwater; and seven grandchildren. Craig, Flagler Beach, is in charge.

Mildred Hidden
HOLLY HILL -- Mildred R. Hidden, 63, of 10th Street, a resident since 1947, died Saturday at home.
Mrs. Hidden, a Navy veteran, moved to this area from her birthplace, Jacksonville. She was a registered nurse. She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Daytona Beach.
Survivors include two daughters, Carolyn Britt, Ormond Beach, and Catherine Watson, Holly Hill; a sister, Mary Lewis, Ormond Beach; and two grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, Gift of Remembrance Headquarters, 1101 N. Lake Destiny Road, Suite 415, Maitland, FL 32751-7105. Volusia County Cremation, Daytona Beach, is in charge.

Herta Konash
EDGEWATER -- Herta M. Konash, 81, of Azalea Road, who retired as a Bell Systems service representative after 20 years of service, died Tuesday at home.
Mrs. Konash was born in Germany and moved here in 1986 from Watchung, N.J. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, New Smyrna Beach, and the Coast Guard Auxiliary. She was a past president of the Washington Valley Garden Club, Martinsville, N.J., where she was a judge of flower arranging. She enjoyed herb gardening and bird identification.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Michael; three sons, Larry, Mahwah, N.J., Ken, Albuquerque, N.M., and Richard, Stowe, Mass.; and eight grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice. Settle-Wilder, New Smyrna Beach, is in charge.

Lucille Kraft
ORMOND BEACH -- Lucille Thompson Kraft, 93, of Kimberly Drive, a retired registered nurse who was an Army nurse in London during World War II, died Tuesday at home.
Mrs. Kraft was born in Bloomfield, N.J., and moved here in 1971 from Media, Pa. She was a member of St. Brendan's Catholic Church.
Survivors include two sons, Ned, Ormond Beach, and Fritz, Littleton, N.C.; a daughter, Nancy Maiello, Staten Island, N.Y.; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 555 W. Granada Blvd., Suite A-1, Ormond Beach, FL 32174. Volusia Memorial, Ormond Beach, is in charge.

Tevin McCright
DELAND -- Tevin Lee McCright, 8, of East New Street, a second-grader at Blue Lake Elementary School, died Monday at Florida Hospital-South, Orlando, following a short illness.
Tevin was born in Newport News, Va. He was a member of Greater Bethlehem Baptist Church, the Extreme and Earl Brown skate parks, and the Police Athletic League Touch Football League.
Survivors include his parents, Robert and Beulah Davis, DeLand; his paternal grandmother, Alberta Chamberlain, Atlanta; and his maternal grandparents, Jasper and Helen McCright, Newport News. Mack is in charge.

Zilla Mikell
DELAND -- Zilla Hills Mikell, 89, of Riverview Drive, a part-time resident since 1990, died April 10 at the home of her daughter in Clearwater.
Mrs. Mikell, a homemaker, was born in Edisto Island, S.C., and also lived in Clearwater. She attended the College of Charleston. She enjoyed reading, sewing, crocheting, cooking and crossword puzzles.
Survivors include two daughters, Julie Flowers, DeLand, and Daisy Pedrick, Clearwater; six grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to Edisto Island Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 86, Edisto Island, SC 29438; or to Hospice of the Florida Suncoast, 300 E. Bay Drive, Largo, FL 33770. J. Robert Morrison
DELTONA -- Robert Morrison, 85, of Sweetbrier Drive, who retired from Armour & Co., died Wednesday at Florida Hospital-Fish Memorial, Orange City.
Mr. Morrison moved here in 1986 from his native Kansas City, Mo. An Army veteran of World War II, he served as a staff sergeant in the 6th Medical Depot, He was a member of the Armour Social Club.
Survivors include his wife 64 years, Betty. Deltona Memorial, Orange City, is in charge.

Florence Mulligan
PALM COAST -- Florence E. Mulligan, 85, of North Flagler Avenue, a resident since 1998, died Tuesday at Grand Oaks Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Mrs. Mulligan, a salesperson, was born in Quaker Hill, Conn., and moved here from Bayonne, N.J.
Survivors include two sons, Thomas Mulligan, Flagler Beach, and Richard Moreash, Port Charlotte; two daughters, Marie Botyrius, Bayonne, and Sissy Markowski, Port Charlotte; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Craig, Flagler Beach, is in charge.
