Grace Allman
DELTONA -- Grace B. Allman, 90, of Lawrence Avenue, a resident since 1981, died Wednesday at Mariner Health Care, Orange City, DeBary.
Mrs. Allman, a homemaker, was born in Philadelphia and moved to this area from Havertown, Pa. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Deltona and was a former member of the Ebenevar United Methodist Church, Haventown, Pa. She was a volunteer for 15 years at the Lankenau Hospital, Wynnewood, Pa.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Edward; a son, Richard Allman, Villanova, Pa.; a daughter, Kaye Hewitt, Trappe, Pa.; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Memorial donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church food pantry, 1045 E. Normandy Blvd., Deltona, FL 32725. All Faiths Cremation, Lady Lake, is in charge.

Adelaide Bauer
DAYTONA BEACH -- Adelaide Bauer, 85, of Third Street, a resident since 1975, died Wednesday at Daytona Beach Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.
Mrs. Bauer, a homemaker, was born in Passaic, N.J., and moved to this area from Hawthorne, N.J. She enjoyed sewing, knitting and crafts.
Survivors include a daughter, Joan Gyulay, Hawthorne, and two grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to Daytona Beach Geriatrics Center, 1055 3rd St., Daytona Beach, FL 32117. Volusia Memorial, Ormond Beach, is in charge.

Margaret Howerton
OSTEEN -- Margaret "Peggy" May Howerton, 74, of New Smyrna Boulevard, a former head chef of NASA in Houston, died Monday at home.
Mrs. Howerton moved to this area in 1995 from her native Decatur, Mich. She enjoyed playing cards.
Survivors include her husband of 26 years, Paul; four daughters, Diane Haywood, Orange City, Sue Ann Platt, Osteen, Donna Moore, Flagpond, Tenn., and Donna Drury, East Jordan, Mich.; two brothers, Bill and Larry Conway, and two sisters, Linda Jewel and Kathy Diedrich, all of Michigan; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. New Life Cremation, Ormond Beach, is in charge.

Wendell Jenkins
COLUMBIA, S.C. -- Wendell Jenkins, 90, a former resident of Daytona Beach during the 1930's to 1940's, died Monday at Richland Memorial Hospital, Columbia.
Mrs. Jenkins was born in Holly Hill, S.C., and retired from Augusta National Golf Club after 29 years of service. She was a member of Target A.M.E. Church where she was a member of the choir and the stewardess board.
Survivors include a son, Reginald, Hartford, Conn.; a stepson, Charles Hogan, Daytona Beach; five daughters, Geraldine Kenner, Shirley Gaines and Laverne Cayruth, all of Columbia, Bertsy Monroe, Windsor, Conn., and Izora Boswell, Daytona Beach; a stepdaughter, Ann Hogan, Daytona Beach; 23 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Leevy's Funeral Home is in charge.

Maggie Leonard
DELAND -- Maggie Johnson Leonard, 90, West Lisbon Parkway, a domestic and child care worker, died Wednesday at home.
Mrs. Leonard was born in Lake Helen, and was a lifelong resident of the area. She was a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed puzzles.
Survivors include three sons, Alphonzo Robinson and James "Fred" Ross, both of DeLand, and Jimmy Allen, San Antonio; four daughters, Shirley Mitchell, Katherine Washington and Frances Footman, all of DeLand, and Betty Luke, Miami; 19 grandchildren; and 54 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren. Unity is in charge.

Louise Nelson
DAYTONA BEACH -- Louise Nelson, 87, of Atheta Drive, a resident since 1971, died Wednesday at home.
Mrs. Nelson was born in Brownwood, Ga., and came here from Philadelphia. She was a member of Allen AME Church. She enjoyed cooking.
Survivors include a son, Christopher, Daytona Beach; a daughter, Lorine Cooper, and a brother, J.C. Perry, both of Philadelphia; 12 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Thompson is in charge.

Joan Noble
PALM COAST -- Joan Rose Noble, 71, of Fanwood Court, a resident since 1978, died Thursday at Memorial Hospital-Flagler, Bunnell.
Born in Queens, N.Y., Mrs. Noble, a homemaker, moved here from Plainview, N.Y. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband of 51 years; Robert; four sons, William, Stephen and John, all of Flagler Beach, and Robert, Baltimore; a daughter, Nancy Kanier, Palm Coast; a brother, Bill O'Brien, Long Island, N.Y.; and eight grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice. Craig, Flagler Beach, is in charge.

John Atencio
JUNE 13, 2003 -- JULY 26, 2003
PORT ORANGE -- John William Atencio, the infant son of Christine and John Atencio of Canal View Boulevard, died Sunday at Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children and Women, Orlando, of birth complications.
Baby John was born in Orlando.
Additional survivors include his paternal grandmother, Carol Shields, Port Orange; his maternal grandmother, Ann Lackner, Ormond Beach; and his maternal grandfather, William Lackner, Kerney, N.J. Alavon Direct Cremation, South Daytona, is in charge.

Ada Barkley
NOV. 18, 1921 -- JULY 25, 2003
DAYTONA BEACH -- Ada Barkley, 81, of Couchlight Court, a resident since 1988, died Friday at Hospice Care Center, Port Orange.
Mrs. Barkley, who assisted senior citizens with activities of their daily lives, was born in Hooversville, Pa., and moved here from Mechanicsburg, Pa. She enjoyed gardening.
Survivors include a son, Carylton, Daytona Beach; a daughter, Carolyn Winkler, Jacksonville; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Volusia - Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129. National Cremation, South Daytona, is in charge.

Catherine Cole
JULY 31, 1918 -- JULY 27, 2003
ORANGE CITY -- Catherine Louise Cole, 84, of Veteran's Parkway, a resident since 1984, died Sunday at Florida Hospital-Fish Memorial.
Mrs. Cole was born in North Salem, N.Y., and moved here from Cobbleskill, N.Y.
Survivors include 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a cousin, Barbara Pifer, who provided for her care. Allen-Summerhill, Orange City, is in charge.

Edna Druzynski
JAN. 22, 1926 -- JULY 28, 2003
DAYTONA BEACH -- Edna M. Druzynski, 77, of Fox Fire Circle, a native of Detroit, died Monday at home.
Mrs. Druzynski, a homemaker, moved here in 1984 from Birmingham, Mich. She enjoyed golf and gardening.
Survivors include her husband, Frank; a daughter, Judy Kovalak, Sterling Heights, Mich.; a brother, Thomas McInerney, Orlando; two sisters, Barbara Crisman, Jupiter Beach, and Carol Pastor, Farmington, Mich.; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Mary Dunn
MARCH 13, 1926 -- JULY 27, 2003
NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- Mary Eileen Dunn, 77, of 10th Street, who formerly co-owned Bill Dunn's Exercise Equipment Co., Miami, died Sunday at home.
Born in Steubenville, Ohio, Mrs. Dunn moved here in 1990 from Miami. She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church and its Order of St. Luke's Prayer Group. She was a former treasurer of the Gorman Court Apartments Association.
Survivors include two sons, Keith, Davie, and Kevin, St. Petersburg; a brother, Frank O'Brien, Spartanburg, S.C.; two sisters, Helen Turner, Flagler Beach, and Patricia McClelland, Port St. Lucie; and three grandchildren. Barbara Field
JULY 11, 1927 -- JULY 28, 2003
DAYTONA BEACH -- Barbara L. Field, 76, of Snow Goose Court, a native of Hyannis, Maine, died Monday at home.
Mrs. Field, a homemaker, moved here in 1997 from Stuart. She volunteered for the American Red Cross.
Survivors include a son, Theodore, Osterville, Mass.; a daughter, Candance Antley, Irmo, S.C.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to the American Red Cross, 341 White St., Daytona Beach, FL 32114. Baggett & Summers is in charge.

Carl Foster
MAY 14, 1920 -- JULY 27, 2003
NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- Carl Robert Foster, 83, of North Causeway, a former electrical engineer for the North Electric Co., Galion, Ohio, for 31 years, died Sunday at Manor on the Green.
Born in Iberia, Ohio, Mr. Foster, an Army Air Forces veteran of World War II, moved here in 1986 from Orlando. He also worked for the Harris Corp. for 10 years and at Ocean Plaza Condos. Mr. Foster was an avid golfer.
Survivors include his wife, Bette; three sons, Aaron Foster, New Smyrna Beach, and Gary Foster and Jack Morgan, both of Ohio; a daughter, Patricia Saltzman, Ohio; two brothers, Daniel and Gene, and three sisters, Barbara Burnell, Loretta Irons, and Betty Jackson, all of Ohio; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Volusia - Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129. Baldwin Brothers Memorial is in charge.

Martha Holmes
JAN. 30, 1928 - JULY 26, 2003
SOUTH DAYTONA -- Martha O'Gara Holmes, 75, of Beckman Drive, who retired in 1970 as a photographer for Macy's Department Store in New York City, died Saturday at Halifax Medical Center, Daytona Beach.
Mrs. Holmes was born in Philipsburg, Pa., and moved here in 1978 from the Bronx, N.Y. She was a member of the Eagles No. 4401.
Survivors include five sons, John and Terry O'Gara, both of Port Orange, Robert O'Gara, South Daytona, Michael O'Gara, Lincroft, N.J., and Dennis, Orlando; two brothers, Eric Ostrosky, Arizona, and Arthur Ostrosky, Pennsylvania; three sisters, Ruth Farley, Long Island, N.Y., Louise Ellis, Pennsylvania, and Naomi Maser, Boston; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
