Jean Campion
DELAND -- Jean Blaine Campion, 80, of Princewood Drive, who was born in Luzerne, Pa., died Sunday at home.
Mrs. Campion came here in 1979 from Cranbury, N.J. An Army Nurses Corps veteran of World War II, she achieved the rank of first lieutenant. She earned her nursing degree from Wilkes-Barre (Pa.) General Hospital and retired as a registered nurse. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of DeLand and the DeLand Women's, Bridge and Yacht clubs.
Survivors include a son, Edwin Jr., Effingham, N.H.; a daughter, Sandra Mischen, Asheville, N.C.; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Allen-Summerhill, DeLand, is in charge.

Evelyn Cavender
DAYTONA BEACH -- Evelyn G. Cavender, 80, of Fourth Street, who retired in 1965 as a secretary for the federal government in Los Angeles, died Friday at Halifax Medical Center.
Born in Los Angeles, Mrs. Cavender moved here in 1965 from California. She was a member of the Council on Aging, Ormond Beach Veterans of Foreign Wars post and Port Orange Eagles aerie.
Survivors include a son, Kirk, Ormond Beach; two daughters, Nikki Simpson and Abbe Crone, both of San Diego; and four grandchildren. Volusia County Cremation is in charge.

Ottie Dill
DAYTONA BEACH -- Ottie B. Dill, 88, of Williamson Boulevard, a 45-year resident, died Monday at Indigo Manor.
Mrs. Dill was born in Hendersonville, N.C., and came to this area from Leesburg. She was a member of Flomich Avenue Baptist Church, Holly Hill.
Survivors include two sons, Larry, Palm Coast, and Douglas, Osteen; a daughter, Peggy Trail, Deltona; a sister, Ruth Edgell, Hendersonville; and five grandchildren. Daytona Funeral Home is in charge.

Michael Futran
LUTZ -- Michael Scott Futran, 27, of Lutz, son of Neal and Sadie Futran, Port Orange, died in his car Friday in a parking lot in Tampa. An autopsy is pending.
Mr. Futran, a cell phone technician for Selectron Global Services, Tampa, moved to Lutz in 2000 from his native Boston. He enjoyed weightlifting.
Other survivors include his wife, Cassie; two sons, Dillon, Lutz, and Shaun, Massachusetts; a daughter, Skylar Futran, Lutz; and a sister, Brenda Vargas, Easton, Mass. Beth David Funeral Chapel, Tampa, is in charge.

Harry Hansen
ORANGE CITY -- Harry S. Hansen, 80, of Nasturtium Court, a retired aerospace engineer for Northrop Grumman in Bethpage, N.Y., died Sunday at Majestic Oaks at John Knox Village.
Mr. Hansen, a Navy veteran of World War II, was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. He came to this area in 2000 from Titusville. He was the lunar excursion module project manager. He was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church, DeBary, the Knights of Columbus and the Elks.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Mary; two sons, Mark, Syracuse, N.Y., and Curt, Washington, D.C.; two daughters, Kristi Hansen, Oyster Bay, N.Y., and Kori Hansen, Putnam Valley, N.Y.; and five grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to St. Lawrence Seminary, 301 Church St., Mount Calvary, WI 53057-0505. Deltona Memorial is in charge.

Robert Jackson
DAYTONA BEACH -- Robert A. Jackson, 86, of Wilder Boulevard, a native of Port Orange, died Sunday at Manor on the Green.
Mr. Jackson, an Army veteran, was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Leroy, Las Vegas; a daughter, Ronda Toler, Port Orange; two brothers, Ernest and Bruce Jackson, and a sister, Mary Smith, all of Daytona Beach; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Baggett & Summers is in charge.

Florence Kennedy
PORT ORANGE -- Florence M. Kennedy, 98, of Fieldstone Avenue, a resident since 1989, died Sunday at Florida Hospital-Ormond Memorial.
Mrs. Kennedy, a homemaker, was born in Syracuse, N.Y., and moved to this area from Clermont. She was a member of the American Legion and the New Smyrna Beach Elks Lodge. She enjoyed gardening and needlework.
Survivors include a son, John, Daytona Beach Shores; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Alavon Direct Cremation, South Daytona, is in charge.

Fama Kinsey
DEBARY -- Fama Lucille Kinsey, 82, of Hickory Springs Court, a resident since 2001, died Saturday at Florida Hospital-Fish Memorial, Orange City.
Mrs. Kinsey, a retired tuberculosis hospital nurse, was born in Jefferson City, Mo. She moved here from Atlanta.
Survivors include two daughters, Jo Dulin, DeBary, and Patricia Wilson, Falls Church, Va.; a sister, Naomi Lyons, Fremont, Calif.; and four grandchildren. Altman-Long is in charge.

Maidene Lee
PORT ORANGE-- Maidene H. Lee, 81, of Gibson Way, who retired in 1982 as a film production employee of Eastman Kodak, Rochester, N.Y., died Saturday at Hospice Care Center.
Mrs. Lee came here in 1982 from her native Rochester. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church and especially enjoyed Bible study.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, James; two sons, Richard Lee, Naperville, Ill., and Larry Rickard, Dumfries, Va.; two daughters, Patricia Huck, Port Orange, and Belva Collins, Blacksburg, Va.; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Daytona Funeral Home, Daytona Beach, is in charge.

Crystal Littler
DELAND -- Crystal Gercken Littler, 73, of Alden Street, a retired English teacher and guidance counselor at Tenafly (N.J.) High School, died Thursday at home.
Mrs. Littler, a graduate of Hood College, was born in Hackensack, N.J. She came here in 1983 from Tenafly. She was in Who's Who in Colleges and Universities and was a member of the American Association of University Women, Women's Club of DeLand and Glenwood Civic Association. She volunteered for the DeLand Museum of Art, Duvall Home and West Volusia Humane Society.
Survivors include her husband of 29 years, Eugene "Red"; a stepdaughter, Deborah Littler, Cresskill, N.J.; and a sister, Carolyn Zatto, Atlanta. Lankford, DeLand, is in charge.

Velma McWilliams
ORANGE CITY -- Velma Mae McWilliams, 84, of North Lake Drive, a 10-year resident, died Sunday at John Knox Village.
Mrs. McWilliams, a homemaker, was born in Lexington, Neb.
Survivors include a son, Robert, Altamonte Springs; a sister, Clare Ryan, Athens, Ala.; and two grandchildren. Baldauff is in charge.

Charles Meider
NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- Charles R. Meider, 91, of Sandra Circle, a former sales manager for Gulf Oil, died Sunday at home.
Mr. Meider moved here in 1979 from his birthplace, Pittsburgh. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, New Smyrna Beach Municipal Golf Course and Hidden Lakes Golf Club. He had played semi-professional baseball.
Survivors include his wife, Alwilda; two daughters, Jeanne Munier, Tulsa, Okla., and Nan Wood, Pinehurst, N.C.; a sister, Ruth Britt, Cary, N.C.; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Volusia - Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129; or First Presbyterian Church, 509 Magnolia St., New Smyrna Beach, FL 32168. Baldwin Brothers Memorial is in charge.

Van Morgan
LAKE HELEN -- Van Neil Morgan, 78, of John Street, a retired 14-year engineer for the Panama Canal Railroad, died Monday at Hospice Care Center, Port Orange.
Mr. Morgan, a Navy veteran of World War II and Army veteran of the Korean War, was born in New Smyrna Beach. He moved to Lake Helen in 2001 from Edgewater. A 32nd-degree Mason, he was a member of the New Smyrna Beach Masonic Lodge and the Abou Saad Shriners Temple, Panama. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Louise; a son, Van "Skip" Jr., Lake Helen; two sisters, Elizabeth Bates, Edgewater, and Lona Stommal, Port Orange; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Volusia - Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129. Dudley, New Smyrna Beach, is in charge.

Daphne Norman
NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- Daphne Norman, 82, of Cedar Dunes Drive, a resident since 1970, died Sunday at Hospice Care Center, Port Orange.
Mrs. Norman, a homemaker, was born in Twickenham, England, and moved here from Toronto. She was a member of Christ Community Church. She was a gourmet cook and also enjoyed nature.
Survivors include a daughter, Jennifer Norman; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Volusia - Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129. Baldwin Brothers Memorial is in charge.

Michael Patrick
DAYTONA BEACH -- Michael R. Patrick, 56, of North Grandview Avenue, a maintenance worker for several area motels, died Monday at Bridgeview Center, Ormond Beach.
Born in Salyersville, Ky., Mr. Patrick came here 20 years ago from Knox, Ind. He was a member of Seabreeze United Church. He enjoyed professional sports and collecting coins.
Survivors include a daughter, Elizabeth "Beth" Lamont, Holly Hill; two brothers, Hobert, Crossville, Tenn., and Harold, Salyersville; five sisters, Mable Salyer, Salyersville, Hazel Midlam, Arcanum, Ohio, Emma Mann, Alger, Ohio, Betty Ross, Leiters Ford, Ind., and Joyce Allen, Union, Ky.; and a grandchild. Woodward, Holly Hill, is in charge.

Adaline Richards
PORT ORANGE -- Adaline M. Richards, 64, of Devon Street, a resident since 1987, died Thursday at Halifax Medical Center, Daytona Beach.
Mrs. Richards, a homemaker, came here from her native Cincinnati.
Survivors include a son, Dennis Kline, and a daughter, Lisa Pascarella, both of Port Orange; two brothers, Robert Davis, Port Orange, and Ray Davis, Cincinnati; a sister, Violet Lucas, Cincinnati; and five grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 555 W. Granada Blvd., Suite A-1, Ormond Beach, FL 32174. Volusia County Cremation, Daytona Beach, is in charge.

Jim Schlageter
ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Albert W. 'Jim' Schlageter Jr., 72, of Rochester, brother of Tom Schlageter, Daytona Beach, and a frequent visitor to the area, died Sunday at St. Ann's Living Center.
A native of Rochester, Mr. Schlageter retired as a material analyst after 23 years with Xerox. An sports enthusiast, he had played basketball and softball in the highly competitive industrial league. He recently was nominated for the Rochester Basketball Hall of Fame. He was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church. His brother, Bob, of Springville, N.Y., died April 4.
Additional survivors include his wife of 43 years, Nancy; two sons, Mark and Alan, both of Rochester; and two grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to Our Lady of Mercy Building Fund, 36 Armstrong Road, Rochester, NY 14616. Vay-Schleich & Meeson Funeral Home, Rochester, is in charge.
