DELTONA -- Alexander Anonick, 91, of Chippendale Street, a retired bar owner, died Friday at home.
Mr. Anonick was born on a ship on its way to Ellis Island, N.Y. He came here in 1977 from Allen Park, Mich. He enjoyed walking, golfing and puzzles.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Bertha; three sons, Bruce, Sanford, Alex, Midlothian, Va., and Henry, Warren, Mich.; 10 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. Baldauff, Orange City, is in charge.

Seabron Cross Jr.
PALM COAST -- Seabron Cross Jr., 72, of Citadel Street, a graduate of the former Campbell Senior High School and Bethune-Cookman College in Daytona Beach, died June 7 at Florida Hospital-Flagler.
Mr. Cross, an Army veteran, was born in Macon, Ga. He was a retired waiter. He was a member of New Mount Zion Baptist Church, Daytona Beach.
Survivors include five sons, Milton, Caesar and Sebastian, all of Daytona Beach, Seabron III, Palm Coast, and Carnell, Atlanta; 11 daughters, Yalonda Garmond, Mayetta Cross and Ceyona Henderson, all of Daytona Beach, Sandy Cross-Giles, Ormond Beach, Katrina Cross, DeLand, Jaquita Cross, Palm Coast, Sabrina, Shirley and Sheridan Cross, all of Orlando, Tracy Cross, Tampa, Jackie Cross, Mobile, Ala.; three brothers, Bobby, Yuba City, Calif., Albert, Memphis, Tenn., and Freddie, Georgia; a sister, Freeda Cross, Georgia; 51 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and his companion, Alma Sims, Daytona Beach. Thompson, Daytona Beach, is in charge.

Mary Donahue
ORMOND BEACH -- Mary T. Donahue, 71, of Kodiak Path, a former million-dollar sales club real estate agent, died Friday at Indigo Manor, Daytona Beach.
Mrs. Donahue, a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church, was born in Philadelphia and moved here in 1999 from Michigan. She enjoyed walking, reading, animals and the beach.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Thomas; four sons, Thomas, Arizona, and Michael, Brian and Brendan, all of Michigan; three daughters, Diane Burke, Ormond Beach, Cathleen Helfrich, South Daytona, and Lori Hoskins, Michigan; a brother, Hugh Bradley, Absecon, N.J.; 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 111 N. Frederick Ave., Suite 100, Daytona Beach, FL 32114. Volusia Memorial, Ormond Beach, is in charge.

Walter Godlewski
HOLLY HILL -- Walter V. Godlewski, 87, of Hialeah Drive, a resident since 1984, died Saturday at Bishop's Glen.
Mr. Godlewski, an Army veteran of World War II, was born in Utica, N.Y. A retired tool grinder, he came here from Mount Clemens, Mich. He was a member of Epiphany Catholic Church, Port Orange, and the Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Lotte; a brother, Anthony, Hallandale, Fla.; and two sisters, Victoria Kuschel and Jane Zoltowksi, both of Warren, Mich. Woodward, Holly Hill, is in charge.

Edith Laws
NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- Edith Ann Laws, in her 80s, of Palm Street, a former 18-year certified nurse's aide at Halifax Medical Center, Daytona Beach, died Friday at Hospice Care Center, Port Orange.
Born in Yonges Island, S.C., Mrs. Laws moved here in 1948 from Charleston, S.C. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She enjoyed low-country cooking, crabbing, sewing and reading.
Survivors include four sons, Herman Laws, Daytona Beach, Richard Chisolm, Miami, Chris Laws, West Palm Beach, and Ernest Chisolm, Atlanta; three daughters, Janet Wright, Daytona Beach, Frances Adams, New Smyrna Beach, and Anita Alston, Tallahassee; a sister, Josephine Ladson, Charleston; 27 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Waters is in charge.

Elizabeth Lopez
DELTONA -- Elizabeth "Betty" Lopez, 81, of South Cooper Drive, who retired from Suburban Trust Bank and Montgomery Ward in Silver Spring, Md., died Friday at home.
Mrs. Lopez was born in Washington, D.C., and came here in 1981 from Silver Spring. She was an auxiliary member of the Knights of Columbus, the Elks, and the American Legion, Lake Helen.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Edward; a son, Edward, Orange County, Calif.; a daughter, Carolyn Lopez DeMatteo, Middletown, Mass.; and three sisters, Joan McNeil, Berlin, Md., Ruth Murray, Germantown, Md., and Helen Dawson, Winchester, N.H. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Volusia - Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129. Baldauff, Orange City, is in charge.

Harry McGee
DAYTONA BEACH SHORES -- Harry Ray McGee, 74, of Oceans West Boulevard, who retired in 1991 as executive manager of the International Communications Industries Association, Washington, D.C., after 23 years of service, died Friday at home.
Mr. McGee, a Navy veteran of World War II, was born in Guntersville, Ala. He came here in 1991 from Fairfax, Va. A graduate of the University of Alabama, he was a member of the American Society of Association Executives, Washington, D.C. He enjoyed golf.
Survivors include a son, Steve, Daytona Beach; two daughters, Debbie Allred, Burke, Va., and Melanie Fleger, Herndon, Va.; two sisters in Alabama; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Volusia - Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129. Haigh-Black, Daytona Beach, is in charge.

Louise Ryan
PORT ORANGE -- Louise C. Ryan, 86, of Victoria Gardens Boulevard, who retired in 1978 from the Lincoln Laundry in Utica, N.Y., died Saturday at Mariner Health Care of Port Orange.
Mrs. Ryan moved here in 1999 from her native Utica. She was a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, St. Thomas Church, Utica, the Presbyterian Auxiliary and the Rosary Society. She enjoyed traveling and crafts.
Survivors include a son, Kurt, Oneida, N.Y.; a daughter, Carolyn Petersen, Port Orange; a sister, Frances Ardo, Utica; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Lorraine Smith
DELAND -- Lorraine P. Smith, 82, of Twig Trail, a master judge with the Florida Federation of Garden Clubs, died Thursday at Florida Hospital-DeLand.
Mrs. Smith, a homemaker who graduated from Albany Business College, was born in Newark, N.J., and came here in 1987 from East Greenbush, N.Y. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Order of Eastern Star, and the DeLand and East Greenbush garden clubs.
Survivors include a son, Russell, DeLand; and three sisters, Edna Weishet, Slingerlands, N.Y., Hazel VanWorner and Gloria LaForte, both of Delmar, N.Y. Memorial donations may be made to First United Methodist Church, 115 E. Howry Ave., DeLand, FL 32724. Lankford, DeLand, is in charge.

Martin Wagner
DAYTONA BEACH -- Martin F. Wagner, 48, of Crescent Ridge Road, a self-employed landscaper, died Saturday at Florida Hospital-Ormond Memorial.
Mr. Wagner, a native and lifelong resident of Daytona Beach, was an all-conference football player at Father Lopez High School. He attended the University of Nevada-Las Vegas on a full football scholarship. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. He enjoyed composing music, fishing, weightlifting and stock car racing.
Survivors include his mother, Claire Wagner, Daytona Beach; a brother, Joe, Daytona Beach; and two sisters, Suzanne Hill, Port Orange, and Kathy Wagner, Orlando. Memorial donations may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 201 University Ave., Daytona Beach, FL 32118. Baggett & Summers is in charge.

Norman Wedekind
DELAND -- Norman E. Wedekind, 85, of West Howry Avenue, who retired in 1973 as a superintendent in the DeLand Post Office with 33 years of service, died Saturday at home.
Mr. Wedekind, a Navy veteran of World War II, was a native and lifelong resident of DeLand. After retiring, he was a real estate agent with the Dick Heard and Don Page agencies. He was a commentator at St. Peter's Catholic Church and also was a member of the Breakfast Rotary, the Jaycees and the Junior Welfare League, helping build Christmas floats. He donated 20 gallons of blood over the years and was active in the Sea Scouts.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Virginia; three sons, Ronald, Port Orange, Douglas, DeLand, and Gary, Titusville; two daughters, Norma Jean "Jeannie" Novak and Carol Lakin, both of DeLand; 16 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Cornelius Ackerson
DEC. 2, 1912 -- AUG. 5, 2003
DAYTONA BEACH -- Cornelius Ackerson, 90, of Surf Scooter Drive, an electrical engineer with an electric and gas company for 35 years before his retirement, died Tuesday at Florida Hospital-Ormond Memorial.
Born in Middletown, Conn., Mr. Ackerson, a Navy veteran, moved here in 1977 from Bayville, N.Y. He was a member of St. Mark-by-the-Sea Lutheran Church for 25 years. Mr. Ackerson was a 1935 graduate of Lehigh University, Pennsylvania
Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Leonor; a son, Henry, Saranac Lake, N.Y.; two stepsons, Hernando and Maurice Salazar, both of Palm Coast; two stepdaughters, Consuelo Litten, Little Rock, Ark., and Cecilia Sullivan, Lake Mary; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Donald Albers
MAY 26, 1935 -- AUG. 5, 2003
PALM COAST -- Donald F. Albers, 68, of Berkshire Lane, a resident since 2000, died Tuesday at home.
Mr. Albers, an Army veteran, moved here from his birthplace, Baltimore. He was a former part-time employee at Discount Auto Parts. He was a member of St. Mark-by-the-Sea Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Mardel; a son, Donald, Stewartstown, Pa.; a daughter, Geoffrey Lynn Sullivan, Palm Coast; a brother, Joseph, Baltimore; four sisters, Alma Gabriel, Maryland, Dorothy Furnari, Baltimore, Norma Coughlin, Towson, Md., Eleanor Donohue, Ocean View, Del.; and four grandchildren. Catherine Bennett
DEC. 23, 1919 -- AUG. 4, 2003
DELTONA -- Catherine M. Bennett, 83, of St. James Avenue, who retired in 1985 as a sales person for Gimbels Department Store, Yonkers, N.Y., died Monday at home.
Mrs. Bennett moved to this area in 1994 from her native Yonkers. She was a member of Our Lady of Lakes Catholic Community, Deltona. She enjoyed gardening.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years, John; two sons, Robert, Deltona, and John, Palm Coast; two sisters, Margaret McPherson and Dorothy Downing, both of Deltona; and two grandchildren. Margaret Bosco
JAN. 28, 1905 -- AUG. 4, 2003
DAYTONA BEACH -- Margaret Bosco, 98, of North Halifax Avenue, former head seamstress for Carl Co., Schenectady, N.Y., died Monday at Health Center of Daytona Beach.
Mrs. Bosco, who was also a homemaker, was born in Troy, N.Y., and moved to this area from Schenectady. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and the General Electric Wives Club. She enjoyed baking.
Survivors include a son, Carmen Bosco, Ormond Beach, and a grandson. Woodward, Ormond Beach, is in charge.

Peter Ivkovich
JUNE 5, 1923 -- AUG. 3, 2003
EDGEWATER -- Peter T. Ivkovich, 80, of Oakridge Avenue, a retired machinist with Allis-Chalmers, Milwaukee, died Sunday at home4.
Mr. Ivkovich, a Coast Guard veteran of World War II, was born in Milwaukee and moved to this area in 1998 from Las Vegas. He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He enjoyed the outdoors.
Survivors include a son, Frank, Edgewater; a daughter, Ileene Cutrone, Holly Hill; four brothers, George, Casselberry, Andy, Milwaukee, Rudy, Las Vegas, and Johnny, Brookfield, Wis.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Volusia County Cremation, Daytona Beach, is in charge.
