HORTENSE "KAY" KARLINER, 82, of Tampa died Saturday under the care of Pinellas Hospice. A native of Puerto Rico, she had lived in this area since 1975. She was a homemaker and member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church. She is survived by her husband, William G.; three daughters, Zoraida Kassin of Delray Beach, Karen Quintana of Tampa and Shelley of Washington , D.C.; two sisters, Consuelo Zeno of Puerto Rico and Carmen Cruz of Tampa; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. JACK L. LAYNE, 49, of Tampa died Friday. A native of Kalamazoo, Mich., he moved to the area in 1997. He was a die maker for General Motors and Protestant. He is survived by his wife, Carol Ferguson; two sons, Spencer Richard of Honolulu and Zachary Andrew of Galesburg, Mich.; a daughter, Jessica Rene of Ann Arbor, Mich.; his parents, Sue Wolfe of Three Rivers, Mich., and Elsworth of Barboursville, W.Va.; and a brother, Gary Alan of Lawton, Mich. ROBERT HEBER McLEOD, 70, of Riverview died Wednesday in Cotuit, Mass. A native of Woburn, Mass., he moved to Riverview in 1996. He was an owner of motels and service stations. He is survived by his wife, Ann S.; a son, Mark A. of Brandon; three daughters, Christine S. Madore of Reading, Mass., Sheridan A.
