George Turner
NOV. 2, 1911 -- NOV. 29, 2003
SOUTH DAYTONA -- George Albert Turner, 92, of Louisiana Road, a retired nursing assistant for a Connecticut state hospital, died Saturday at home.
Mr. Turner was born in Middletown, Conn., and moved here in 1980 from Manchester, Conn. He enjoyed woodworking.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary Lange, Holly Hill, and two grandchildren. Alavon Direct Cremation, South Daytona, is in charge.

Willhemina White
AUG. 3, 1916 -- NOV. 28, 2003
ORMOND BEACH -- Willhemina "Billie" White, 87, of Walker Street, a resident since 1957, died Friday at Bridgeview Nursing Home.
Mrs. White, a homemaker, was born in Somerville, Mass., and moved here from Hingham, Mass. She was a member of St. James Episcopal Church, the Palmetto Club and Disabled American Veterans Chapter 84. She volunteered with American Red Cross and was a an active Girl Scout leader.
Survivors include three daughters, Billie Krueger, Ormond Beach, Rosemary Martin, Ocala, and Diane Doll, Tallahassee; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Woodward, Holly Hill, is in charge.

Benjamin Wiseman
JULY 26, 1929 -- NOV. 28, 2003
DELAND -- Benjamin C. Wiseman, 74, of Sunset Trail, a former owner-operator of a landscaping business, died Friday at Florida Hospital-DeLand.
Mr. Wiseman, a Navy veteran, was born in Patterson, N.J., and moved here in 1978 from New Jersey.
Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Joan Legg. Lankford, DeLand, is in charge.

Dorothy Youngman-Garvin
JAN. 25, 1922 -- NOV. 27, 2003
EDGEWATER -- Dorothy Carter Youngman-Garvin, 81, a retired school principal and teacher, died Thursday at Bert Fish Medical Center, New Smyrna Beach.
Mrs. Youngman-Garvin, who also lived part time in Wheeling, W.Va., was born in Ohio County, W.Va. She was a member of Stone United Presbyterian Church, Retired Ohio Teachers Association, Daughters of the American Revolution and the Ladies Auxiliary of El Tor Grotto.
Survivors include her husband, Fred; three sons, H. Paul Garvin Jr., New Fairfield, Conn., Calvin Garvin, Fountain Valley, Calif., and John Garvin, Wheeling; two stepsons, Fred Youngman, North Carolina, and Frank Youngman, Michigan; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to Shriners Crippled Children's Fund, P.O. Box 1744, Tavares, FL 32778. Grisell Funeral Home, Moundsville, W.Va., is in charge.

Salvatore Aloisi
JAN. 2, 1942 -- NOV. 19, 2003
DAYTONA BEACH -- Salvatore Aloisi, 61, of Cardinal Street, a resident since 1999, died Nov. 19 at Halifax Medical Center.
Mr. Aloisi, a construction laborer, moved here from his native Waterbury, Conn.
Survivors include a son, Joseph, Wolcott, Conn.; three daughters, Monica Farnham, Deborah Zillaro and Donna Hobert, and two sisters, Marie Cesare and Josephine Venenzano, all of Waterbury; and two grandchildren. Newlife Cremation, Ormond Beach, is in charge.

Mary Artigliere
DEC. 29, 1921 -- NOV. 27, 2003
PORT ORANGE -- Mary Artigliere, 81, a resident since 2000, died Thursday at Hospice Care Center.
Mrs. Artigliere, a homemaker, was born in Whippany, N.J., and moved here from Gaithersburg, Md. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and cooking.
Survivors include three sons, Anthony, Port Orange, Ralph, Bartow, and Jerry, South Haven, Miss.; a sister, Veronica Krygoski, Whippany; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Volusia - Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129. All State Cremation, Daytona Beach, is in charge.

Andrew Bolles
DEC 24, 1942 -- NOV. 26, 2003
DEBARY -- Andrew J. Bolles, 60, of Forest Lane, a former owner of a candle shop in North Carolina, died Wednesday at Florida Hospital-Fish Memorial, Orange City.
Born in Jersey City, N.J., Mr. Bolles moved here in 2001 from Surf City, N.C. An avid sports fan, he also enjoyed fishing.
Survivors include his wife, Roseanne; two sons, Michael, Garfield, N.J., and Mark, Saratoga Springs, N.Y.; two sisters, the Rev. Francine Varner-Wall, Paducah, Ky., and Michele Mazzoni-Eanes, Bloomfield, N.J.; and a grandson. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Volusia - Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32119. Baldauff, Orange City, is in charge.

Ann Burgess
OCT. 12, 1930 -- NOV. 27, 2003
HAVERTOWN, Pa. -- Ann Swoboda Burgess, 73, of Havertown, a former 26-year resident of DeLand, died Thursday at her daughter's home in Havertown.
Born in New York City, Mrs. Burgess moved to DeLand in 1976 from Hamilton Square, N.J., and in 2002 moved to Havertown. She retired in 1998 from the Hatrack at Stetson University. She attended the University of New Mexico and Mountainside School of Nursing, Montclair, N.J. Mrs. Burgess was a member of St. Barnabas Episcopal Church. She enjoyed her cat.
Survivors include two sons, Robert Dea, DeLand, and Kenneth Dea, Chadds Ford, Pa.; a daughter, Janice Dea, Havertown; a brother, Frank Swoboda, Arlington, Va.; two sisters, Janet Lunn, Ottawa, and Martha Bendix, Los Alamos, N.M.; and 10 grandchildren. Stuard Funeral Home, Ardmore, Pa., is in charge.

Christopher Carbone
JULY 5, 1981 -- NOV. 24, 2003
DELTONA -- Christopher Paul "Boggie" Carbone, 22, of Nardello Drive, a resident since 1991, died Monday at Florida Hospital-Fish Memorial, Orange City.
Mr. Carbone was born in Baltimore and moved here from Brooklyn, N.Y. He attended St. Clare's Catholic Community and the Boston Avenue School. A homebound student, he was taught by Patricia Harris. He enjoyed game shows and cartoons, music and his artwork.
Survivors include his grandparents, Raymond and Olga Carbone, Deltona. Baldauff, Orange City, is in charge.

Rodney Coleman
JUNE 10, 1950 -- NOV. 26, 2003
SEVILLE -- Rodney Harrell Coleman, 53, of Coleman Road, who worked for Tennant Printing, DeLand, died Wednesday at Florida Hospital-Altamonte Springs.
Mr. Coleman was a native and lifelong Seville resident. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bunnell. He was a referee for several sports for the DeLand Parks and Recreation Department, including Pop Warner football.
Survivors include a brother, Charles, DeLeon Springs. Allen-Summerhill, DeLand, is in charge.

Edward Frazee Jr.
JUNE 13, 1930 -- NOV. 26, 2003
EDGEWATER -- Edward C. Frazee Jr., 73, of El Tigre, an electrician for Pan Am at Kennedy Space Center for 25 years before his retirement, died Wednesday at Bert Fish Medical Center.
Born in Manhattan, N.Y., Mr. Frazee, a veteran of the National Guard, serving in the Korean War, moved to Volusia County in 1957. He moved to Edgewater from New Smyrna Beach in 1996. He was a member of the Academy of Model Aeronautics. Mr. Frazee enjoyed fishing and travel.
Survivors include two sons, Edward III, Edgewater, and Raymond, Oak Hill; a daughter, Bonnie Frazee, New Smyrna Beach; and three grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, Gift of Remembrance Headquarters, 1101 N. Lake Destiny Road, Suite 415, Maitland, FL 32751-7105. Dudley, New Smyrna Beach, is in charge.

Hughey Gregory
JUNE 19, 1921 -- NOV. 27, 2003
EDGEWATER -- Hughey L. Gregory, 82, of West Indian River Drive, who worked for 18 years for Senco Products Co., Cincinnati, died Thursday at Halifax Medical Center, Daytona Beach.
Mr. Gregory, a Marine Corps veteran of World War II, was born in Covington, Ky., and came here in 1990 from Blanchester, Ohio. He enjoyed fishing and gardening and was a Cincinnati Reds fan.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Dorothy; three sons, Robert, Edgewater, Ronald, Blanchester, and Jerry, Westboro, Ohio; a daughter, Beverly Calloway, Butlerville, Ohio; a sister, Lillian Collins, Kentucky; and four grandchildren. Woodward, Holly Hill, is in charge.

Frank Hartwell
MAY 5, 1925 -- NOV. 27, 2003
DEBARY -- Frank Hartwell, 78, of Fleetwood Avenue, a native of Newark, N.J., died Thursday at Florida Hospital-DeLand.
Mr. Hartwell moved to this area in 1998 from Melbourne, where he owned a motel. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Mary Anne; two sons, F. Thomas Hartwell, Lake Lure, N.C., and Pete Masters, Melbourne; a daughter, Teresa Upton, DeLand; and three grandchildren. Allen-Summerhill, DeLand, is in charge.

Phyllis Hill
MARCH 28, 1925 -- NOV. 27, 2003
PALM COAST -- Phyllis I. Hill, 78, of Federal Lane, who retired after 17 years as an executive secretary with Butler & Smith Inc., importers of BMW motorcycles, died Thursday at her daughter's home in Palm Coast.
Mrs. Hill was born in Weehawken, N.J., and moved to this area in 1986 from Englewood, N.J. She enjoyed reading, knitting and crocheting.
Survivors include a daughter, Victoria Scott, Palm Coast; and six grandchildren. Craig, Flagler Beach, is in charge.
