HOLLY HILL -- Katherine Elizabeth McLaughlin, 69, of Derbyshire Road, a native of Trenton, N.J., died Wednesday at Bridgeview Nursing Home, Ormond Beach.
Mrs. McLaughlin, a homemaker, moved here in 1981 from New Jersey.
Survivors include four sons, Aaron McLaughlin, Port Orange, Raymond Goehrig, North Carolina, and Alan and Danny Goehrig; two daughters, Jessica Taylor, Palm Coast, and Rita Goehrig; and six grandchildren. Lankford, DeLand, is in charge.

Joanne Mottola
JUNE 9, 1947 -- NOV. 26, 2003
PALM COAST -- Joanne Catherine Mottola, 56, of Firtree Lane, a resident since 1997, died Wednesday at home.
Mrs. Mottola, a homemaker, was born in Newark, N.J., and moved here from Summit, N.J. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. Mrs. Mottola enjoyed walking on the beach and arts and crafts.
Survivors include her husband of 30 years, Robert; a son, Michael, Palm Coast; a daughter, Kim Mottola, St. Augustine; and her mother, Virginia Machi, and brother, Richard Machi, both of Palm Coast. Palm Coast Funeral Home is in charge.

Mary O'Quinn
SEPT. 24, 1920 -- NOV. 27, 2003
DELAND -- Mary E. O'Quinn, 83, of Amelia Avenue, a resident since 1961, died Thursday at Florida Hospital-DeLand.
Mrs. O'Quinn was born in Georgia, and came here from Nahunta, Ga. She was a member of the Sanctuary Church.
Survivors include four sons, Franklin, Nahunta, Ted, Melbourne, and Kenneth and Leon, both of Kingsland, Ga.; three daughters, Luconia Tyson, Kingsland, Virginia Atkinson, Mount Dora, and Marlyn Lovett, California; a brother, the Rev. L.C. Allen, and a sister, Lula Johns, both of Nahunta; 17 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Volusia - Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32119. Lankford, DeLand, is in charge.

Maxine Partin
NOV. 24, 1925 -- NOV. 25, 2003
SOUTH BELOIT, Ill. -- Maxine V. Partin, 78, of South Beloit, a former Holly Hill resident, died Tuesday at home.
Mrs. Partin, the retired owner-operator of Val's Crafts, Ormond Beach, was born in Newton, Iowa. She moved to Holly Hill in 1977 from Rockford, Ill. She returned to Illinois in 1999.
Survivors include two sons, Jerry, Rockford, and Craig, Walnut Cove, N.C.; a daughter, Donna Kopplin, South Beloit; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Volusia Memorial, Ormond Beach, is in charge.

Linda Scully-Bewley
APRIL 7, 1952 -- NOV. 27, 2003
DELTONA -- Linda Scully-Bewley, 51, of Earlshire Court, a dental assistant for Hurley Hospital, Flint, Mich., died Thursday at Central Florida Regional Hospital, Sanford.
Ms. Scully-Bewley was born in Frankfort, Mich., and moved to this area in 1985 from Flint. She enjoyed bowling and physical fitness.
Survivors include her parents, Vernon and Helen Scully, Deltona; a brother, Timothy, Glendale, Ariz.; and a sister, Candace Childs, Davenport. Deltona Memorial, Orange City, is in charge.

Gordon Tait
JULY 30, 1930 -- NOV. 27, 2003
ORMOND BEACH -- Gordon C. Tait, 73, of LaJolla Court, a former meteorologist with the U.S. government, died Thursday at home.
Mr. Tait, an Air Force veteran of the Korean War, was born in Freeport, Ill., and moved to this area in 1985 from New Jersey. He was the pianist for Ormond Beach Alliance Church. He graduated from Ursinus College in Pennsylvania. Mr. Tait enjoyed music and playing tennis.
Survivors include his wife, Anne; two sons, Timothy, California, and Douglas, New Jersey; two daughters, Shelly Evans, New Jersey, and Brenda Sanchez, Nevada; a foster daughter, Cathy Schwartz, Nevada; two stepsons, David Sebra, New Jersey, and Robert Sebra, Florida; and 19 grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Volusia - Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129. National Cremation, South Daytona, is in charge.

Margaret Thomas
SEPT. 2, 1941 -- NOV. 27, 2003
PORT ORANGE -- Margaret E. Thomas, 62, of Madeline Avenue, a native of Roanoke, Va., died Thursday at home.
Mrs. Thomas, a bookkeeper in the retail industry, moved here in 1980 from Pennsylvania. She was a member of the Perdido Bay Buccaneers Camping Club, Alabama. She enjoyed crafts, knitting and crochet.
Survivors include her husband of 42 years, Paul; two daughters, Sharon Gilmore, Lake Helen, and Sandy Bordis, Ormond Beach; and four grandchildren. Baldauff, Orange City, is in charge.

Ida Gray
JUNE 7, 1911 -- NOV. 25, 2003
FLAGLER BEACH -- Ida Schultz Gray, 92, of Lantana Avenue, a resident since 1983, died Tuesday at Grand Oaks Health and Rehabilitation Center, Palm Coast.
A native of Hartwell, Ga., Mrs. Gray moved to this area from High Point, N.C. She was a member of Flagler Beach United Methodist Church and an avid sports fan.
Survivors include a son, Bill, North Hills, Pa.; a daughter, Susie Dixon, Flagler Beach; a sister, Flora Holland, Hartwell; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to Flagler County Police Athletic League, P.O. Box 350399, Palm Coast, FL 32135. Craig is in charge.

Manley Johnson
DEC. 13, 1915 -- NOV. 23, 2003
HOLLY HILL -- Manley Medford "Scotty" Johnson, 87, of Mandarin Drive, who retired in 1973 from the U.S. Postal Service in Newark, N.J., died Sunday at Bishop's Glen.
Mr. Johnson, a native of Daytona Beach, moved back to this area in 1980 from Gainesville. He is a 1934 graduate of New Smyrna Beach High School and also attended the University of Washington, University of Southern California, University of Alabama and Washington University. As a Marine Corps veteran, he served in China and the Pacific Theatre during World War II. Mr. Johnson was a member of Tomoka United Methodist Church and Nova Road Community Center Tennis Club, both of Ormond Beach, and the Scottish Heritage Genealogy Society and Good Timers Bridge Club. He was also a former member of Loyal Order of the Moose, Gainesville Lodge.
Survivors include a sister, Louise Rourke, California; and a cousin, Marilyn Johnson, Ormond Beach, who provided for his care. Memorial donations may be made to Tomoka United Methodist Church, 1000 Old Tomoka Road, Ormond Beach, FL 32174; or to Halifax Humane Society, P.O. Box 9035, Daytona Beach, FL 32120-9035. Margaret Ploney
SEPT. 8, 1916 -- NOV. 25, 2003
SCOTIA, N.Y. -- Margaret "Peg" Ploney, 87, of Scotia, a Daytona Beach resident from 1976-1998, died Tuesday at Ellis Skilled Nursing Center, Schenectady, N.Y.
Mrs. Ploney was born in Cleveland, and moved to Daytona Beach from Broomall, Pa., where she worked in sales at a department store. While living in Daytona Beach, she volunteered as a Pink Lady at Halifax Medical Center.
Survivors include two daughters, Betty Tucker, Scotia, and Joan McKelvey, Colorado Springs, Colo.; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to Halifax Medical Center, 303 N. Clyde Morris Blvd., Daytona Beach, FL 32115-2830. Glenville Funeral Home, Glenville, N.Y., is in charge.

Derrick Williams
AUG. 21, 1963 -- NOV. 26, 2003
ATLANTA -- Derrick Ray Williams, 40, of Atlanta, a Daytona Beach native, died Wednesday at Southern Regional Hospital.
Mr. Williams, a licensed barber, moved from his birthplace in 1991 to Atlanta, where he was formerly employed at Inland Seafood. He was a member of Stewart Memorial United Methodist Church, Daytona Beach. He is a 1982 graduate of Mainland High School, where he was also a member of the marching band and was in the first group of participants in the Men of Tomorrow program sponsored by the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. Mr. Williams enjoyed video games and sports.
Survivors include a daughter, Deanna Williams, and his parents, Carl Clark and Sarah Williams, all of Daytona Beach; four brothers, James, Chavis and Anthony, all of Daytona Beach, and Carnell, Atlanta; and five sisters, Condya Robinson and Sara Williams, both of Daytona Beach, Cynsere McCarty and Carolyn Owens, both of Orlando, and Carlynn Collier, Alaska. Gainous, Daytona Beach, is in charge.

Willie Williams
JUNE 19, 1949 -- NOV. 25, 2003
ATLANTA -- Willie Williams, 54, of Atlanta, a former Daytona Beach resident, died Tuesday at a hospital in Lexington, Ky.
An auto mechanic, Mr. Williams moved to New Jersey in 1966 from his native Daytona Beach, where he attended the former Campbell Street High School . In 1980, he relocated to Atlanta. Mr. Williams enjoyed music.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred, Daytona Beach; eight sons, Willie Williams Jr., Dover, Del., Batine Eurie and Andre Nelson, both of Plainfield, N.J., and Abdul, Wuyume, Vincent, Tyree, and Alex Williams, all of Atlanta; five daughters, Stephanie Williams, New Smyrna Beach, Traine Whatley and Tressa Williams, both of Atlanta, and Yolanda and DeDe Williams, both of Plainfield; a sister, Gwendolyn Slaton, Plainfield; two stepbrothers, Gregory Moore, Detroit, and Roosevelt Simmons, Albany, Ga.; and two stepsisters, Catherine Phillips, Detroit, and Dorothy Phillips, Tifton, Ga. Gainous, Daytona Beach, is in charge.

Christopher Carbone
JULY 5, 1981 -- NOV. 24, 2003
DELTONA -- Christopher Paul "Boggie" Carbone, 22, of Nardello Drive, a resident since 1991, died Monday at Florida Hospital-Fish Memorial, Orange City.
Mr. Carbone was born in Baltimore and moved here from Brooklyn, N.Y. He attended St. Clare's Catholic Community and Brooklyn School for Special Children. He enjoyed game shows and cartoons, music and his artwork.
Survivors include his grandparents, Raymond and Olga Carbone, Deltona. Baldauff, Orange City, is in charge.

Anna Fehntrich
NOV. 10, 1910 -- NOV. 24, 2003
HOLLY HILL -- Anna Marie Fehntrich, 93, of Tenth Street, who retired in 1972 after 40 years as a laborer in a button factory in Lindenhurst, N.Y., died Monday at Halifax Medical Center, Daytona Beach.
Mrs. Fehntrich moved here in 1972 from her native Lindenhurst. She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, AARP and a charter member of the Historical Society of Lindenhurst. Mrs. Fehntrich enjoyed arts and crafts and sewing.
No known immediate relatives survive. Daytona Funeral Home, Daytona Beach, is in charge.
