Daniel Frady
SEPT. 8, 1915 -- NOV. 25, 2003
NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- Daniel W. Frady, 88, of Goodwin Avenue, a resident since 1974, died Tuesday at a local assisted living facility.
Mr. Frady, an Army veteran, was born in Rockwood, Tenn., and moved here from Hendersonville, N.C. He retired as a North Carolina State Highway Patrol. He was a member of the Veteran of Foreign Wars, the American Legion and the Reserve Officer Association. Mr. Frady enjoyed yard work, sports and swimming in the ocean.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Bernadine; a son, Daniel, Gallup, N.M.; a grandson; and a great-grandson. Baldwin Brothers Memorial is in charge.

Frank Kennedy
JAN. 16, 1914 -- NOV. 23, 2003
ORANGE CITY -- Frank Joseph Kennedy, 89, of Strawberry Oaks Drive, a retired electrical contractor, died Sunday at Florida Hospital-Fish Memorial.
Mr. Kennedy, an Army veteran of World War II, moved to this area in 1965 from his native Kansas City, Kan.
Survivors include his friend, Robert Brown, Fort Myers, who provided for his care. Lankford, DeLand, is in charge.

Sarah Oakley
JUNE 7, 1916 -- NOV. 26, 2003
DEBARY -- Sarah P. Oakley, 87, of Pinedale Road, a resident since 1967, died Wednesday at Florida Hospital-Fish Memorial, Orange City.
Mrs. Oakley, a homemaker, was born in New York City and moved to this area from Yonkers, N.Y. She was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church, the Irish-American Club of Central Florida and the choir and Catholic Women's Club at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church. She enjoyed Irish music and reading.
Survivors include a son, Robert, Yonkers; a daughter, Trudi Oakley-Watson, DeBary; a brother, James Taaffe, Yonkers; four sisters, Catherine McEvoy, Deltona, Mary Valenga, Yonkers, Anna Pepe, California, and Agnes Michelak, Mount Vernon, N.Y.; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Baldauff, Orange City, is in charge.

James Pollock
OCT. 26, 1921 -- NOV. 26, 2003
EDGEWATER -- James H. Pollock, 82, a resident since 1994, died Wednesday at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center, Hartford, Conn.
Mr. Pollock, a Navy veteran of World War II, was a native of Weymouth, Mass. He was a member of Hacienda Veterans, Hacienda Shuffleboard Club, Coronado Shuffleboard Club, and AF&AM, Hanover, Mass.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia; a son, James Jr., Middleborough, Mass.; a daughter, Janice Pollock, Andover, Conn.; two brothers, William, Glastonbury, Conn., and Stuart, Edgewater; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to the Shriners Children's Hospital, P.O. Box 11157, Newington, CT 06111-1157. Mulryan Funeral Home, Glastonbury, is in charge.

Bette Schulz
JULY 25, 1917 -- NOV. 25, 2003
DELAND -- Bette C. Schulz, 86, of Woodland Circle, a resident since 1973, died Tuesday at Florida Hospital-DeLand.
Mrs. Schulz moved here from her native Newark, Ohio, where she retired from real estate sales. She was a member of DeLeon Springs United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Arthur; two sons, Tom, Houston, and Toby, Manassas, Va.; four daughters, Jill Stone, Fort Lauderdale, Dawn Worley, Piedmont, S.C., Andrea Vogelmeier, Newark, and Terri Schulz, Tucson, Ariz.; a sister, Marla Naddy, Spokane, Wash.; and four grandchildren. Allen-Summerhill, DeLand, is in charge.

Arthur Stickler
JUNE 23, 1914 -- NOV. 24, 2003
ORMOND BEACH -- Arthur Downing Stickler, 89, of Beach Street, who retired after 35 years as an engineer with the Department of the Navy, died Monday at home.
Mr. Stickler was born in Lansford, Pa., and moved here in 1974 from Nevada. A graduate of Benjamin Franklin University in Washington, D.C., he enjoyed travel and going to the gym.
Survivors include his wife, Betty; three daughters, Kim Pyle, Ormond Beach, Janice Harvey, Clermont, and Margo Rash, Reston, Va.; eight grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Volusia - Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange 32129. Ormond Funeral Home is in charge.

Maria Urquijo
DEC. 16, 1934 -- NOV. 25, 2003
ORMOND BEACH -- Maria L. Urquijo, 68, of Seabridge Drive, a retired bank manager for Chase Bank in New York, died Tuesday at home.
Born in Spain, Ms. Urquijo moved here in 1993 from the Bronx, N.Y. She was a member of St. Brendan's Catholic Church. She enjoyed travel, crossword puzzles, knitting and reading.
Survivors include a brother, John Egana, Fort Myers; and a sister, Diana Glaser, the Bronx. Woodward, Ormond Beach, is in charge.

Clara Voigt
SEPT. 12, 1911 -- NOV. 25, 2003
ORMOND BEACH -- Clara Voigt, 92, of Acoma Drive, a resident since 1997, died Tuesday at Florida Hospital-Flagler, Palm Coast.
Mrs. Voigt, a homemaker, was born in Germany and moved here from Annapolis, Md. She enjoyed animals, reading, exercising and knitting.
Survivors include two sons, Peter, Ormond Beach, and Walter, Deer Isle, Maine; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to Journey's End Animal Sanctuary, P.O. Box 220173, Glenwood, FL 32722. Craig, Flagler Beach, is in charge.

Margaret Walter
DEC. 2, 1908 -- NOV. 24, 2003
PALM COAST -- Margaret V. Walter, 94, of Beachway Drive, a resident since 2001, died Monday at home.
Mrs. Walter was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and came here from Palmetto. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church.
Survivors include three sons, Arthur, Palm Coast, Herbert, Crystal River, and Raymond, Melbourne; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 21475, St. Petersburg, FL 33742. Palm Coast Funeral Home is in charge.

Charles Wheeler
JULY 9, 1934 -- NOV. 25, 2003
DELAND -- Charles F. Wheeler, 69, of West Parkway, a resident since 1972, died Tuesday at Florida Hospital-DeLand.
Mr. Wheeler, an Air Force veteran of the Korean War, was born in Worcester, Mass. He moved to this area from Heavener, Okla. He retired as an artist and illustrator. Mr. Wheeler was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the Florida Highway Patrol Auxiliary.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Jimmie; and a sister, Susan Parker, Spring Hill. Allen-Summerhill, DeLand, is in charge.

Albert Williams
SEPT. 13, 1928 -- NOV. 3, 2003
DELTONA -- Albert Williams, 75, of Golden Arm Road, who retired after 24 years with the Coast Guard, died Nov. 3 at Florida Hospital-Fish Memorial, Orange City.
Mr. Williams moved to this area in 1993 from New York City, his birthplace. For his service in the Coast Guard, he received the Navy Good Conduct Medal, American Defense Service Medal, American Campaign Medal and the World War II Victory Medal.
Survivors include two daughters, Charlotte Nurse, Queens, N.Y., and Helen Alexander, Brooklyn, N.Y.; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Baldauff, Orange City, is in charge.

Barbara Alexander-Bieda
JAN. 22, 1945 -- NOV. 25, 2003
PALM COAST -- Barbara Godkin Alexander-Bieda, 58, of Egan Drive, a Flagler County teacher from 1987 to the present and most recently a sixth grade teacher at Buddy Taylor Middle School, died Tuesday at Hadlow Community Hospice.
Mrs. Alexander-Bieda, who received her bachelor's degree from Mills College in New York and her master's in education from Boston University, was born in New York City. She moved to this area in 1974 from Forest Hills, N.Y. She was a member of Temple Beth Shalom. Mrs. Alexander-Bieda enjoyed mentoring children.
Survivors include her husband of one year, Frank; and two sons, Mason Brown, Jacksonville, and Eddie Brown, Portland, Ore. Memorial donations may be made to the Jewish Federation of Volusia - Flagler Counties, 733 S. Nova Road, Ormond Beach, FL 32174. Craig, Flagler Beach, is in charge.

Laura Burroughs
MAY 22, 1927 -- NOV. 25, 2003
DEBARY -- Laura O. Burroughs, 76, of Mellon Drive, a native of Baltimore, died Tuesday at Maitland Health Care, Maitland.
Mrs. Burroughs, a homemaker, moved here in 1978 from Falls Church, Va.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Robert; two sons, Steven, Boyce, Va., and Wayne, Louisville, Ky.; two daughters, Rebecca Burgess and Gail Kephart, both of DeBary; two sisters, Dorothy Gimple, Pennsylvania, and Pamela Williams, Maryland; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Allen-Summerhill, Orange City, is in charge.

Margaret Campbell
OCT. 18, 1929 -- NOV. 24, 2003
NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- Margaret Ann Campbell, 74, of North Causeway, died Monday at home.
Mrs. Campbell, a retired real estate sales representative, was a native of DeLand. She was a member of Coronado Community United Methodist Church and the New Smyrna Beach Yacht Club. She also was a master gardener.
Survivors include four sons, Thomas, New Smyrna Beach, James, Bethesda, Md., J. Scott, Mountaindale, N.Y., and Randy, Redwood City, Calif.; and three grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Volusia - Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129. Alavon Direct Cremation, South Daytona, is in charge.
