Francis Chirco
SEPT. 10, 1943 -- NOV. 25, 2003
PALM COAST -- Francis S. Chirco, 60, of Elder Drive, a security systems consultant in the banking industry, died Tuesday at Halifax Medical Center, Daytona Beach.
A native of Brooklyn, N.Y., Mr. Chirco moved to this area in 1997 from Wanaque, N.J. He was a member of the Auxiliary Police and a past president of Sons of Italy, both of New Jersey. He earned a degree from Pace University, New York.
Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Mary; two sons, Joseph, Daytona Beach, and James, Palm Coast; a daughter, Maria Mancuso, Troy, Mich.; a brother, Salvatore, Palm Coast; and five grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 1101 N. Lake Destiny Road, Suite 415, Maitland 32751. Shannon, Port Orange, is in charge.

Judith Izard
NOV. 30, 1942 -- NOV. 23, 2003
DELAND -- Judith Marshall Izard, 60, of Howry Avenue, a retired deli manager for Winn-Dixie, died Sunday at The Cloisters.
Ms. Izard was born in Baltimore, and moved here in June from Sebring.
Survivors include a son, Wayne Tynes, Sammamish, Wash.; and a daughter, Jovon Izard, Orlando. Alavon Direct Cremation, South Daytona, is in charge.

Shawn Kennedy
SEPT. 27, 1944 - NOV. 24, 2003
DAYTONA BEACH -- Shawn D. Kennedy, 59, of Fremont Avenue, a former marketing representative for a photography studio, died Monday at Hospice Care Center, Port Orange.
Mr. Kennedy, a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, was born in Gloucester, Mass. He moved to this area in 2002 from Bridgewater, Mass. He enjoyed the beach.
Survivors include his wife, Bonnie; two sons, John, Mobile, Ala., and Mickael, Malbern, Pa.; a brother, James Grimsley, Westfield, Mass.; a sister, Annette Price, Chickasaw, Ala.; and six grandchildren. New Life Cremation, Ormond Beach, is in charge.

Charles Kincaid
JULY 15, 1931 -- NOV. 24, 2003
DELTONA -- Charles Ray Kincaid, 72, of Portillo Drive, who worked for Compo Chemical, Mansfield, Mass., for 35 years before his retirement, died Monday at home.
Mr. Kincaid, a Navy veteran of the Korean War, was born in Canton, Ohio, and moved here in 1989 from Mansfield. He was a member of the American Legion, Disabled American Veterans, Eagles, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Lord of Life Lutheran Church. He enjoyed motorcycle riding, wrestling, hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Geraldine; three sons, Glen, Gary and Bruce, all of Deltona; his mother, Pauline Kincaid; nine brothers, George, Richard, James, Donald, William, Jerry, Daniel, Thomas and Robert; six sisters, Marilyn, Kathy and Linda Kincaid, Betty Coss, Donna Mench and Louise Garner; and 10 grandchildren. Deltona Memorial, Orange City, is in charge.

Frank McWaters Jr.
JULY 29, 1937 -- NOV. 6, 2003
PORT ORANGE -- Frank M. McWaters Jr., 66, of LaCosta Village Boulevard, a retired plant manager for First Coast Anodizing, Daytona Beach, died Thursday at Health Center of Daytona Beach.
Mr. McWaters was born in Heard County, Ga., and moved here in 1998 from Newnan, Ga.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Becky; a son, Stanley, Hermitage, Tenn.; a daughter, Patti Morris, Carthage, Tenn.; a sister, Jean Bonner, Eufaula, Ala.; and six grandchildren. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home, Hogansville, Ga., is in charge.

Mattie Murphy
SEPT. 1, 1926 -- NOV. 20, 2003
DELAND -- Mattie Lee Murphy, 77, of South Parsons Avenue, a native of Palatka, died Thursday at Oakwood Garden of DeLand.
A long-time resident, Mrs. Murphy worked as a private housekeeper. She enjoyed sewing.
Survivors include a son, Alex Murphy. Altman-Long, DeBary, is in charge.

Robert Niver
JUNE 15, 1918 -- NOV. 24, 2003
EASLEY, S.C. -- Robert Niver, 85, of Easley, a native and former resident of Daytona Beach, died Monday at home.
Mr. Niver, an Army Air Forces veteran of World War II, was a retired furniture store owner in Martinsville, Va. He was an avid tennis player.
Survivors include his wife, Linda; a son, James, Raleigh, N.C.; two daughters, Anne Fischl, Huntington, N.Y., and Sally Neill, Charlottesville, Va.; two stepsons, James Lewis, New Port Richey, and Craig Lewis, Easley; a stepdaughter, Cynthia White, Charlotte, N.C.; a brother, James, Los Angeles; and 10 grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to Interim Hospice, 775 Spartan Blvd., Spartanburg, S.C. 29301. Robinson Funeral Home, Easley, is in charge.

Joseph Rosiek Jr.
FEB. 18, 1927 -- NOV. 23, 2003
DELTONA -- Joseph S. Rosiek Jr., 76, of Live Oak Woods Court, a resident since 1983, died Sunday at home.
Mr. Rosiek, a Navy veteran of World War II, moved to this area from New Britain, Conn., his birthplace. He was a former tool and die maker in the robotics industry. An avid sports fan, he enjoyed following Major League Baseball's spring training in Florida.
Survivors include his wife, Regina; two sons, Daniel, New Britain, and Matthew, Lilburn, Ga.; a daughter, Lynn Sharry, Glastonbury, Conn.; and five grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, West Volusia Chapter, 218-A E. New York Ave., DeLand, FL 32724-5554. Altman-Long, DeBary, is in charge.

Bonnie Stewart
FEB. 18, 1906 -- NOV. 25, 2003
PALM COAST -- Bonnie A. Stewart, 97, of Peyton Place, a retired social worker for the State of Missouri, died Tuesday at home.
Born in Monette, Ark., Mrs. Stewart moved here in 1997 from Cincinnati. She also was a former teacher. She was a member of Grosbeck United Methodist Church and Order of Eastern Star.
Survivors include a son, Homer, Evanston, Ill.; a daughter, Sarah Morris, Palm Coast; 15 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. Palm Coast Funeral Home is in charge.

Lillian Thurrott
FEB. 7, 1912 -- NOV. 24, 2003
DAYTONA BEACH -- Lillian H. Thurrott, 91, of Daytona Beach, a former manager of Sinclair Pharmaceutical Co., Fishers Island, N.Y., died Monday at Indigo Manor and Rehabilitation Center.
Mrs. Thurrott, was born in Wallingford, Conn., and moved to Volusia County in 1973 from Fishers Island. She moved to Daytona Beach in 1998 from Edgewater. She was a member of The First Presbyterian Church and the Garden Club, both in New Smyrna Beach.
Survivors include a son, James, Port Orange; and two grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Volusia - Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129. Dudley, New Smyrna Beach, is in charge.

Raphael Van Alphen
JUNE 18, 1918 -- NOV. 25, 2003
DEBARY -- Raphael Leo Van Alphen, 85, of Needlewood Loop, who worked as a civilian equipment specialist for the Army, died Tuesday at home.
Mr. VanAlphen, a Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War, was born in San Francisco and moved here in 1998 from Fort Myers. He enjoyed working on cars and boats.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Barbara; three sons, Frederick, DeBary, Mark, Orlando, and Stephen, Naples; and two sisters, Rita Woodra and Isabella Becker, both of Michigan. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 111 N. Frederick Ave, Daytona Beach, 32114. Altman-Long is in charge.

Rev. John Waddell
DEC. 6, 1921 -- NOV. 22, 2003
DEBARY -- The Rev. John Paul Waddell, 81, of Toms Road, a former pastor at the Church of Christ, Portsmouth, Ohio, died Saturday at DeBary Manor.
Rev. Waddell, who served in the Army's 99th Infantry Engineering during World War II, was born in Hamilton, Ohio. He moved to this area in 1970 from Portsmouth and was formerly pastor of Tomoka Christian Church. He attended Cincinnati Bible College for eight years.
Survivors include five daughters, Debbie Polk, Sanford, Donnas Arrasmith, Palmetto, Lynn Anderson, Bradenton, Sue McCrickard, Bassett, Va., and Jenifer Gabbard, Madison, Ind.; a stepson, Terry Bazler, Longwood; 21 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to the Plymouth Avenue Church of Christ, 1101 E. Plymouth Ave., DeLand, FL 32724. Altman-Long, DeBary, is in charge.

Keith Woodbury
JAN. 3, 1954 -- NOV. 24, 2003
SOUTH DAYTONA -- Keith S. "Woody" Woodbury, 49, of Anastasia Drive, a machine operator for Crane Cams, Daytona Beach, for 22 years, died Monday at home.
Mr. Woodbury moved here in 1978 from his native Gloucester, Mass. He was a charter member of the Dolphin Athletic Club, Edgewater.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra; a stepson, Steven Long, South Daytona; his mother, Elizabeth Woodbury, Rockport, Mass.; a brother, Ron, Edgewater; and two sisters, Carol Lagusa, Hamilton, Mass., and Barbara Nelson, Gloucester. Cardwell & Maloney, Port Orange, is in charge.

Joyce Baker
MAY 9, 1935 -- FEB. 1, 2004
PALM COAST -- Joyce H. Baker, 68, of Carlson Lane, a former home economist for the food industry, died Sunday at Grand Oaks Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Mrs. Baker was born in Oak Park, Ill., and moved to this area in 1992 from Washington, D.C. She was a graduate of Purdue University. She was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church of Palm Coast, the American Association of University Women and Alpha Chi Omega.
Survivors include her husband of 46 years, Dale; a son, Mark, Owings, Md.; a daughter, Karen Baker, Crownsville, Md.; and three grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to Trinity Presbyterian Church, 156 Florida Park Drive, Palm Coast, FL 32137. Coastal Cremation is in charge.
