Donald Bradley

MARCH 3, 1927 -- JAN. 30, 2004

DAYTONA BEACH SHORES -- Donald Gordon Bradley, 76, of South Atlantic Avenue, former owner and president of Domestic and Military Packaging Corp., died Friday at Halifax Medical Center, Daytona Beach.

Born in Cleveland, Mr. Bradley, a Marine Corps veteran, moved here in 1983 from Brecksville, Ohio. He was a member of the Museum of Arts and Sciences, Halifax River Yacht Club, the Halifax Club and Daytona Beach Symphony Society. Mr. Bradley was a volunteer with the American Red Cross, American Cancer Society and Salvation Army.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Dorothy, and a sister, Ruth Growden, Cumming, Ga. Baggett & Summers, Daytona Beach, is in charge.

Stanley Brittingham

FEB. 21, 1918 -- JAN. 30, 2004

DELAND -- Stanley P. Brittingham, 85, of South Amelia Avenue, a resident since 1971, died Friday of Oakwood Garden of DeLand.

Mr. Brittingham, an Army Air Forces veteran of World War II, was born in Philadelphia and came here from Bucks County, Pa. He was a retired sales representative for restaurant franchises. Mr. Brittingham was a member of Grace Episcopal Church, Port Orange, and the DeLand Elks.

Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Jean; a son, Geoffrey, Nashville, Tenn.; and a daughter, Pamela Brittingham, Athens, Ga. Alavon Direct Cremation, South Daytona, is in charge.

Lois Cole

MAY 14, 1913 -- JAN. 29, 2004

ORMOND BEACH -- Lois D. Cole, 90, of Lincoln Avenue, a retired Realtor and office manager for Lawrence Johnson Realty, died Thursday at Ocean View Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, New Smyrna Beach.

Mrs. Cole, who also managed Life Village Mobile Home Park, came here in 1947 from West Haven, Conn. She was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church, a Brownie and Girl Scout leader and a telephone volunteer for the Council on Aging. An avid Orlando Magic and Atlanta Braves fan, she also enjoyed playing bingo.

Survivors include a daughter, Barb Van Rhee, Ormond Beach; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to Family Renew Community Inc., 810 Ridgewood Avenue, Holly Hill, FL 32117. Daytona Funeral Home, Daytona Beach, is in charge.

Emma Garguilo

FEB. 11, 1911 -- JAN. 31, 2004

ORMOND BEACH -- Emma C. Garguilo, 92, of Palm Drive, a clerk for American Express Financial Services Co. before her retirement, died Saturday at Hospice Care Center, Port Orange.

Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., Mrs. Garguilo came to this area in 1971 from Long Island, N.Y.

Survivors include a stepdaughter, Theresa Quinn, Ormond Beach. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Volusia - Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129. Alavon Direct Cremation, South Daytona, is in charge.

Jeanne Grennon

SEPT. 24, 1927 -- JAN. 29, 2004

ORMOND BEACH -- Jeanne M. Grennon, 76, of East Lindenwood Circle, a retired registered nurse, died Thursday at Avante At Ormond Beach.

Mrs. Grennon was born in Forty Fort, Pa., and moved here in 1993 from Baltimore. She was a member of St. Brendan's Catholic Church, Ormond Beach Kopy Kats and Ormond Beach Show Club.

Survivors include her husband of 52 years, William Jr.; a son, William III, Ormond Beach; two daughters, Kathleen Grennon, Newburyport, Mass., and Maureen Henlein, Ellicott City, Md.; a brother, John MacDonald, and a sister, Helen Lorenzini, both of Ormond Beach; and 10 grandchildren. Ormond Funeral Home is in charge.

Jon Hanley

JUNE 27, 1939 -- JAN. 30, 2004

ORANGE CITY -- Jon William Hanley, 64, of Navel Orange Drive, a terminal manager for the Lehigh Portland Cement Co., Indianapolis, before his retirement, died Friday at Florida Hospital-Fish Memorial.

Mr. Hanley, a veteran of the Army National Guard, was born in Woodstock, Ill., and moved here in 1995 from Indianapolis.

Survivors include his wife of five years, Sandra; a son, John, Crystal Lake, Ill.; two daughters, Kerry Norman, Houston, and Tina Hopkins, Crystal Lake; two sisters, Marilyn Dusthimer and Shirley Stolzke, both of Woodstock; and seven grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to the West Volusia Humane Society, 800 Humane Society Road, DeLand, FL 32720. Allen-Summerhill, Orange City, is in charge.

William Hansen

AUG. 17, 1958 -- JAN. 30, 2004

PIERSON -- William David Hansen, 45, of Blackburn Road, a native of Jacksonville, died Friday from injuries sustained in a vehicle accident on State Road 11 near DeLand.

Mr. Hansen, a journeyman electrician, came here in 1960 from his birthplace.

Survivors include a son, Benjamin, DeBary; a daughter, Rachel Hansen, DeLand; his parents, Clifford and Charlotte Hansen, Pierson; two brothers, Mark, DeLand, and Gene, News Smyrna Beach; four sisters, Joyce Anne Bradley and Joyce Cathleen Whitaker, both of DeLand, Linda Buie, Melrose, and Darlene Hansen, Acworth, Ga.; his grandmother, Margurite Lucas, Pierson; and two grandchildren. Allen-Summerhill, DeLand, is in charge.

Myrtle Heath

MARCH 19, 1917 -- JAN. 31, 2004

DELAND -- Myrtle E. Heath, 86, of East Dale Circle, a resident since 1948, died Saturday at Alliance Community Center for Health Care.

Mrs. Heath, a seamstress with Gibbs' for Ladies for many years before her retirement, was born in Canada and moved here from Toronto.

Survivors include a son, Albert, DeLand; two brothers, Walter Hooper, Sarasota, and Samual Hooper, Campbellford, Ontario; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Lankford, DeLand, is in charge.

Howard Holdridge

DEC. 16, 1933 -- JAN. 30, 2004

GAINESVILLE -- Howard Miller Holdridge, 70, of Gainesville, a native of Daytona Beach, died Friday at home.

Mr. Holdridge was a building contractor.

No known immediate relatives survive. Forest Meadows Funeral and Cremation Services, Gainesville, is in charge.

Paul Kelvyn

APRIL 20, 1902 -- JAN. 30, 2004

DELAND -- Paul N. Kelvyn, 101, of East Howry Avenue, a manager for Creasy Corp., a wholesale grocery company in Toledo, Ohio, before his retirement, died Friday at home.

Born in Milwaukee, Mr. Kelvyn came here in 2000 from Fort Lauderdale.

Survivors include a brother-in-law, Jack Moore, New Smyrna Beach, who provided for his care. Lankford, DeLand, is in charge.

Stella Mayer

JUNE 30, 1939 -- JAN. 30, 2004

ORMOND BEACH -- Stella Streeter Mayer, 64, of Mayfield Circle, who was employed at a local patient center by American Medical Laboratories before her retirement, died Friday at Hospice Care Center, Port Orange.

Mrs. Mayer, who also formerly worked for General Electric Co. in the Heavy Military Department in New York, was born in Oneida, N.Y. She came here in 1978 from Syracuse, N.Y. She was a member of Christ Presbyterian Church, where she was a former deacon and a charter member of the Jubellation Handbell Choir.

Survivors include a son, Daniel, Ormond Beach. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Volusia - Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129; American Cancer Society, 1620 S. Myrtle Poole

AUG. 6, 1910 -- JAN. 29, 2004

DELAND -- Myrtle Lee Poole, 93, of Montgomery Avenue, a native of DeLeon Springs, died Thursday at Woodland Terrace Extended Care.

Mrs. Poole, a former medical receptionist, came here in 1983 from Hialeah. She was a member of the Alliance Church of Hialeah, and the Alliance Church of DeLand.

Survivors include a son, Richard Duncan, St. Augustine, and two grandchildren. Allen-Summerhill, DeLand, is in charge.

MaryLou Quartier

OCT. 5, 1930 -- JAN. 29, 2004

PORT ORANGE -- MaryLou Quartier, 73, a resident since 1963, died Thursday at Halifax Medical Center, Daytona Beach.

Mrs. Quartier, a former cashier, came here from her native Syracuse, N.Y. She was a member of Epiphany Catholic Church, where she was a Eucharistic minister, and American Legion Post 270, Daytona Beach. She was also a Girl Scout leader in Daytona Beach. Mrs. Quartier enjoyed sewing, crafts and crossword puzzles.

Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Donald; three sons, David, Port Orange, Douglas, South Daytona, and Daniel, Ormond Beach; two daughters, Deana Newby, Port Orange, and Deborah Jennings, New Smyrna Beach; a brother, Leonard, Sun City; a sister, Ann Ladue, Mims; 19 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Daytona Funeral Home, Daytona Beach, is in charge.
