PORT ORANGE -- James Dale Rogers, 45, of Dawn View Square, a mechanic, died Feb. 8 at home.

Mr. Rogers, an Army veteran, was born in Port Arthur, Texas. He enjoyed motorcycles and hunting.

Survivors include his wife, Cindy; a son, Devin, Medford, Ore.; two stepdaughters, Danielle Crouthamel, Port Orange, and Crystal Galba, Orange City; his mother, Ina Rundles, Daytona Beach; and a sister, Terri. NewLife Cremation, Ormond Beach, is in charge.

Isabelle Sanford

DEC. 9, 1911 -- FEB. 14, 2005

NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- Isabelle Anne Sanford, 93, of Wayne Avenue, a resident since 1995, died Monday at Ocean View Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Mrs. Sanford, a homemaker, moved to this area from her birthplace, Little Silver, N.J. A member of United Methodist Church in Red Bank, N.J., she enjoyed cooking, music, animals and playing the piano.

Survivors include a son, Richard Satter, New Smyrna Beach; four daughters, Virginia "Ginny" Baker and Caroline McLean, both of New Smyrna Beach, Elizabeth "Betty" Morgan, Shrewsbury, N.J., and Margaret "Joan" Calt, Elberon, N.J.; a stepson, James, Little Silver; a stepdaughter, Diane Eyes, Pennsylvania; 20 grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Volusia - Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129; or to the Halifax Humane Society, P.O. Box 9035, Daytona Beach, FL 32120-9035. Michael Tighe

MAY 5, 1937 -- FEB. 12, 2005

DAYTONA BEACH -- Michael K. Tighe, 67, of Pelican Bay Drive, who was a real estate broker and developer of commercial property and owner of Unlimited Horizons, Inc. and TJW Management Co., both of Daytona Beach Shores, died Saturday at Halifax Medical Center.

Mr. Tighe, an Air Force veteran, was born in Newark, N.J. He moved to this area in 1968 from New Jersey. He was a graduate of the University of Maryland. Mr. Tighe was a member of the Moose Lodge and the Florida Sheriffs Association. He was a volunteer for Daytona Beach Shores Public Safety. He enjoyed flying and traveling.

Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Sharon; two sons, Anthony, Palm Coast, and Joey, Monroe, N.C.; three daughters, Shannon Tighe, Daytona Beach, Mary Tighe, Largo, and Michelle Mammolito, Longwood; two sisters, Patricia Clay, Ormond Beach, and Eileen Alessio, Belleville, N.J.; and seven grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 555 W. Granada Blvd., Suite A-1, Ormond Beach, FL 32174, or to the America Red Cross, 341 White St., Daytona Beach, FL 32114. Charles Vincent

AUG. 1, 1939 -- FEB. 14, 2005

DELAND -- Charles William Vincent, 65, of West Douglas Avenue, a quality control engineer for the Siemans Corp., died Monday at Florida Hospital Fish Memorial, Orange City.

Mr. Vincent moved to this area in 1942 from his native Towanda, Pa. He was a member of Lighthouse Christian Church, where he was a trustee, a board member and sound technician. Mr. Vincent enjoyed woodworking, especially building furniture.

Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Mary; two daughters, Angi Foster, DeLeon Springs, and Vicki Denton, Brevard, N.C.; five sisters, Janice Adams and Mary Woods, both of DeLand, Kay Hemby, Belleview, and Irma Harker and Sandy Glaze, both of Ben Wheeler, Texas; and four grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to Lighthouse Christian Academy, 1525 S. State Road 15A, DeLand, FL 32720. Allen-Summerhill, DeLand, is in charge.

Andrea Ward

MAY 10, 1966 -- FEB. 13, 2005

DAYTONA BEACH -- Andrea Marie Hale Ward, 38, of Nautilus Avenue, a cosmetologist, died Sunday at home. An autopsy is pending.

Mrs. Ward moved to this area several years ago from Salina, Kan., her birthplace.

Survivors include her parents, Gary and Joyce Hale, and a sister, Alison Monsanto, all of Salina. Ryan Mortuary, Salina, is in charge.

Helen Wetzel

FEB. 10, 1910 -- FEB. 14, 2005

ORMOND BEACH -- Helen S. Wetzel, 95, of Clyde Morris Boulevard, who retired as vice president of purchasing after 46 years with Western Electric, died Monday at home.

Mr. Wetzel was born in Pottsville, Pa. She was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church, United Way of Volusia - Flagler, and the Community Foundations Builder's and the Alexis de Tocqueville societies.

Survivors include a brother, Pete Sidella; and a sister, Rose Zalenski. Memorial donations may be made to Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 600 Nova Road, Ormond Beach, FL 32174. Lohman-Ormond is in charge.

Margie Wilson

AUG. 6, 1932 -- FEB. 13, 2005

NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- Margie E. Wilson, 72, of Tatum Boulevard, a retired retail clerk, died Sunday at Hospice Care Center, Port Orange.

A native of Fort Wayne, Ind., Mrs. Wilson came here from Orlando in 1964. She enjoyed knitting and crossword puzzles.

Survivors include her husband of 10 years, Carl; two sons, Jeffrey Angel, Holly Hill, and Raymond Gatlin, Ormond Beach; three daughters, Jeanette Johnston, Port Orange, Emily Josephs, Orlando, and Joyce Dombrowski, Fort Myers; three brothers, Ed, Phil and Bill Bixler, and a sister, Maxine McBride, all of Fort Wayne; and 12 grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1620 S. Geraldine Wisniewski

APRIL 20, 1935 -- FEB. 13, 2005

NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- Geraldine Wisniewski, 69, of Sea Cove, a former senior group administrator for the City of Dearborn, Mich., died Sunday at Bert Fish Medical Center.

Mrs. Wisniewski was born in Detroit and moved to this area in 1981 from Dearborn, Mich.

Survivors include her companion, Ralph Van Sickle; three daughters, Linda Bryan, Port Orange, Diane Nielsen, Michigan, and Christine Clark, Pennsylvania; two brothers, Ted Osada, Port Charlotte, and Bob Osada, Marietta, Ga.; and four grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to the American Lung Association, Pulmonary Fibrosis Research, 412 S. Palmetto Ave., Daytona Beach, FL 32114. Alavon Direct Cremation, South Daytona, is in charge.

Doris Owens

DEC. 4, 1910 -- MAY 28, 2004

PALM COAST -- Doris L. Owens, 93, of Royal Palm Lane, a resident since 1929, died Friday at Grand Oaks Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Born in the Bahamas, Mrs. Owens, a homemaker, moved here in 1929 from her birthplace. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, New York City King Solomon Grand Lodge. She enjoyed singing.

Survivors include two daughters, Bloneva Scott, Palm Coast, and Vernamae Bowles, New York City; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Memorial donations may be made to First A.M.E. Church, 91 Old Kings Road N., Palm Coast, FL 32137. Volusia Memorial, Ormond Beach, is in charge.

Judy Peterson

OCT. 20, 1936 -- MAY 31, 2004

NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- Judy Peterson, 67, of Judy Street, a lunchroom monitor for 20 years at Samsula Elementary School before her retirement, died Monday at home.

Mrs. Peterson was born in Southington, Ohio, and moved here in 1956 from Ohio. She was a member of the Bowlerinas and enjoyed camping.

Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Gene; two daughters, Robin Roth and Ginger Colson, both of New Smyrna Beach; two brothers, Lloyd Hill, New Smyrna Beach, and Donald Hill, Southington; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Volusia - Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129. Baldwin Brothers is in charge.

Virginia Roberts

JULY 21, 1912 -- MAY 31, 2004

PORT ORANGE -- Virginia "Dee" Roberts, 91, of Peninsula Drive, a native of Springfield, Mass., died Monday at Port Orange Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Mrs. Roberts, a homemaker, moved here in 1975 from her birthplace. She was a member of the Oceans Racquet Club and the Ladies Admiralty Club. She enjoyed bridge, square dancing and volunteered with the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Survivors include a niece, Wendy Atkinson, Kapaa, Hawaii, and Patricia Edgar, Daytona Beach Shores, who provided for her care. Memorial donations may be made to the Council on Aging, Hearing Impaired Program, P.O. Box 671, Daytona Beach, FL 32115-0671. Cardwell & Maloney is in charge.

Richard Vought

DEC. 16, 1925 -- MAY 30, 2004

ORMOND BEACH -- Richard S. Vought, 78, of Aqua Vista Drive, a native of Philadelphia, died Sunday at Florida Hospital-Ormond Memorial.

Mr. Vought, an Army Air Forces veteran of World War II, who served as a gunner on a B-17, moved here in 1987 from Fort Lauderdale. For his military service, he was awarded six Outstanding Service bars, the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with a bronze star and the Air Medal with five oak leaf clusters. A musician, who played several instruments, Mr. Vought toured the country playing big-band music.

No known immediate relatives survive. Woodward, Ormond Beach, is in charge.

Paul Walter

JULY 11, 1929 -- MAY 31, 2004

ORMOND BEACH -- Paul D. Walter, 74, of Palm Circle, a 12-year employee of the Riviera Country Club, died Monday at Florida Hospital-Ormond Memorial.

Mr. Walter, an Army veteran of the Korean War, moved here in 1991 from Louisville, Ky., his birthplace. He enjoyed gardening and horses.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Mary; three sons, Greg, Kevin and Jeff; two sisters, Marlene Beckhart and Pat Klefot; and five grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 1440 W. Washington Blvd., Chicago, IL 60607. Volusia Memorial, Ormond Beach, is in charge.
