MENTOR, Ohio -- Dale L. Giroux, 59, of Mentor, a 1963 graduate of Mainland High School in Daytona Beach, died Sept. 1 at Lake East Hospital, Painesville, Ohio.

Mr. Giroux, an Army veteran, moved to the Daytona Beach area in 1955 from his native Rumford, Maine. He worked for 27 years at Lincoln Electric Co. in Euclid, Ohio.

Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Dolly; a daughter, Wendy, Willoughby, Ohio; a brother, Peter, Chardon, Ohio; a sister, Deborah, Buford, Ga.; and two grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 555 W. Granada Blvd., Suite A-1, Ormond Beach, FL 32174. McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, Willoughby, is in charge.

Edith Inabnett

DEC. 24, 1933 -- SEPT. 16, 2004

DELAND -- Edith M. Inabnett, 70, of South Salisbury Street, a native of Eustis, died Thursday at Alliance Community Center for Health Care.

Mrs. Inabnett, a homemaker, moved to DeLand from DeLeon Springs in 1988. She was a member of Liberty Independent Baptist Church and enjoyed traveling.

Survivors include four sons, David and Johnny Ray, both of DeLand, Randy, Palm Coast, and Danny, DeLeon Springs; three daughters, Connie Lewis, DeLand, Wanda German, Georgia, and Marie Kelsey, South Carolina; a brother, Ted Walker, Brooksville; a sister, Joyce Cerezo, DeLand; 24 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to Liberty Independent Baptist Church, 1365 W. Plymouth Ave., DeLand, FL 32720. Carpenter-Curry is in charge.

Gertrud Jeglin

MARCH 17, 1909 -- SEPT. 17, 2004

DELTONA -- Gertrud M. Jeglin, 95, of Providence Blvd., a native of Stolp Pommern, Germany, died Friday at home.

Mrs. Jeglin, a retired midwife, moved here from Germany in 1993. She was an avid reader.

Survivors include a daughter, Eve Rioux, Deltona; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Deltona Memorial, Orange City, is in charge.

Helen Kallelis

SEPT. 4, 1917 -- SEPT. 14, 2004

DAYTONA BEACH -- Helen A. Kallelis, 87, of Woodland Avenue, a resident since 1960, was found dead Tuesday in her swimming pool at home.

Miss Kallelis, a former bookkeeper with Shawmunt Bank and Merrill Lynch, both in New York City, moved to this area from her birthplace, Peabody, Mass. She was a member of St. Demetrios and St. Visilios Greek Orthodox churches. She enjoyed travel.

Survivors include a sister, Katherine Pappas, Daytona Beach. Memorial donations may be made to St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 129 N. Halifax Ave., Daytona Beach, FL 32118; or to a charity of one's choice. Haigh-Black, Ormond Beach, is in charge.

Jean Kiefer

AUG. 7, 1928 -- SEPT. 15, 2004

ORANGE CITY -- Jean P. Kiefer, 76, of Grand Plaza Drive, a retired quality control inspector, died Wednesday at home.

A native of Boston, Ms. Kiefer moved to this area in 1972 from Brockton, Mass.

Survivors include a son, John, Methuen, Mass.; a daughter, Diane Decina, New Jersey; five brothers, John Mahoney, Belmont, Mass., Richard and Donald Mahoney, both of South Boston, Robert Mahoney, Seymour, Ind., and Edward Mahoney, Norton, Mass.; a sister, Carole Moran, Tewksbury, Mass.; six grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. Deltona Memorial, Orange City, is in charge.

Clyde King

JAN. 17, 1929 -- SEPT. 16, 2004

DAYTONA BEACH -- Clyde King, 75, of Admiral Halsey Drive, the former owner of King Sign Co., died Thursday at home.

Mr. King moved to this area in 1961 from his native Knoxville, Tenn. He was a member of the Calvary Assembly of God.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Patricia; two sons, Darrell, Port Orange, and Robert, Toms Brook, Va.; two daughters, Linda Dittman, Port Orange, and Phyllis Hutson, Daytona Beach; a sister, Betty Risden, Clinton, Tenn.; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Baggett & Summers is in charge.

Mary Kline

AUG. 15, 1925 -- SEPT. 15, 2004

EDGEWATER -- Mary J. Kline, 79, of Wildwood Drive, who retired as a nurse for the State of Maryland, died Wednesday at Oceanview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, New Smyrna Beach.

Mrs. Kline was born in Cumberland, Md., and came to this area four months ago from Hollywood, Fla. She enjoyed playing cards, bingo and bowling.

Survivors include two sons, Gary Franchi, Parrish, and Jack Franchi, Ohio; two daughters, Linda Sommerkamp, Edgewater, and Jacquelyn Jones, Hagerstown, Md.; a brother, Paul Stein, LaVale, Md.; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Volusia Memorial, Port Orange, is in charge.

Richard Maloney

JULY 22, 1924 -- SEPT. 13, 2004

PORT ORANGE -- Richard H. Maloney, 80, of Hidden Lake Drive, a physician in Hartford, Conn., before his retirement in 2002, died Monday at Halifax Medical Center, Daytona Beach.

Mr. Maloney, a Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War, was born in Hartford, and moved here in 2003 from Farmington, Conn. A 1948 Emory University Medical School graduate, he operated his own practice and also had several titles at St. Francis Hospital including director of the psychiatric clinic and chairman of both the psychiatry department and executive committee. Mr. Maloney was a member of the American Psychiatric Association, Hartford County Medical Association, Hartford Medical Society and Hartford Psychiatric.

Survivors include his wife, Vida; two sons, Richard, Park City, Utah, and Philip, Rocky Hill, Conn.; a daughter, Janice Maloney, Hebron, Conn.; a brother, Robert, Interlachen; and three grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Volusia - Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129. Lohman-Daytona, Daytona Beach, is in charge.

Delores Marshall

JAN. 25, 1929 -- SEPT. 15, 2004

DAYTONA BEACH -- Delores M. Marshall, 75, of South Ridgewood Avenue, a retired secretary for Pittsburgh Steel, died Wednesday at home.

Mrs. Marshall was born in Tarentum, Pa., and moved here in 1976 from Pennsylvania. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Port Orange.

Survivors include a son, Jeff Marshall, Port Orange. Memorial donations may be made to First United Methodist Church, 305 Dunlawton Ave., Port Orange, FL 32127; or to Hospice of Volusia - Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129. Lohman-Ormond, Ormond Beach, is in charge.

George Morgan

AUG. 14, 1949 -- SEPT. 17, 2004

ORMOND BEACH -- George Morgan, 55, of Valencia Drive, a woodworker in the cabinet industry, died Friday at Hospice Care Center, Port Orange.

Mr. Morgan, an Army veteran, was born in Rocky Mountain, N.C., and moved to this area in 2002 from Orlando. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He enjoyed watching politics.

Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Donna; three children; a brother, Glenn Morgan; and two grandchildren. Alavon Direct Cremation, South Daytona, is in charge.

Stanley Skolinsky Jr.

APRIL 1, 1942 -- SEPT. 15, 2004

DAYTONA BEACH -- Stanley John Skolinsky Jr., 62, of Reed Canal Road, a manager for Southern Bell in Plantation, died Wednesday at Florida Hospital-Flagler, Palm Coast.

Mr. Skolinsky, an Air Force veteran, was born in White Plains, N.Y., and came here in 1992 from Fort Lauderdale. He enjoyed fishing and reading.

Survivors include two sons, Ron, Lake Worth, and Steve, Vero Beach; his mother, Rose Cole, Flagler Beach; a sister, Lorraine Bouillon, Crescent City; and two grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to Santa Maria del Mar Catholic Church, 915 N. Central Ave., Flagler Beach, FL 32136. Craig-Flagler Palm, Flagler Beach, is in charge.

Lorraine Spielmann

NOV. 5, 1934 -- SEPT. 17, 2004

PALM COAST -- Lorraine R. Spielmann, 69, of Berkshire Lane, a native of New York City, died Friday at Florida Hospital-Flagler.

Ms. Spielmann, a homemaker, moved to this area from Seminole in 1999. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Arlene Veras, Palm Coast, and Angela DeLoreto, Clearwater; two brothers, Hilary and Kenneth Araujo, and two sisters, Louise Amato and Angela Kane, all of Palm Coast; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Elizabeth Swisher

DEC. 27, 1928 -- SEPT. 16, 2004

SOUTH DAYTONA -- Elizabeth Onody Swisher, 75, of Duncan Road, a native of Cleveland, died Thursday at Halifax Medical Center, Daytona Beach.

Mrs. Swisher, a homemaker, moved to this area from Hollywood, Fla. in 1965. She was a member of First Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing, boating, water skiing, cooking, the outdoors and watching the Fox News Network.

Survivors include her husband of 55 years, John; two sons, Bill, South Daytona, and Wayne, Albuquerque, N.M.; three daughters, Stephanie Farrar, South Daytona, Donna Brooks, Melbourne, and Dianna Tillery, Auburn, Ala.; a sister, Gizella Prezocki, Louisville, Ky.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Woodward, Holly Hill, is in charge.

Terry Thomas

MARCH 29, 1957 -- SEPT. 16, 2004

DELTONA -- Terry Thomas, 47, of Galgano Avenue, a resident since 1986, died Thursday at home.

Mrs. Thomas was born in Camp Lejeune, N.C., and moved to this area from Blacksburg, S.C. She enjoyed reading, music and stock car racing.

Survivors include her husband of 30 years, Kenneth; a son, Kenneth Jr., and a daughter, Michelle Thomas, both of Deltona; her mother, Gail Byars, a brother, Shane, and three sisters, Tammie, Rhonda and Rene, all of Blacksburg; and two grandchildren.
