APRIL 5, 1905 -- FEB. 28, 2005

NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- Clementine M. Wehmeyer, 99, of 18th Avenue, a former payroll clerk for the New York State Department of Civil Service, died Monday at Ocean View Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

A native of Troy, N.Y., Mrs. Wehmeyer moved here in 1999 from East Greenbush, N.Y. She was a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Schlacter, New Smyrna Beach. Settle-Wilder, New Smyrna Beach, is in charge.

Mary Wehner

MAY 11, 1929 -- FEB. 26, 2005

SEVILLE -- Mary Lou Wehner, 75, of Bream Drive, a retired executive secretary for the National Cash Register Corp. in Dayton, Ohio, died Saturday at Apple House II, Crescent City.

Mrs. Wehner, a member of the Naval Reserves, moved here from her native Dayton in 1981.

Survivors include her husband, Charles; and a sister, Carolyn Heeter, Dayton. Clayton Frank & Biggs, Crescent City, is in charge.

Beverly White

SEPT. 23, 1938 -- FEB. 28, 2005

DAYTONA BEACH -- Beverly Ann White, 66, of Trotter Court, a resident since 2002, died Monday at home.

Mrs. White, a homemaker, was born in Denver. She enjoyed traveling and garage sales.

Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Richard; a son, Michael, Rockingham, N.C.; a daughter, Cathy James, Raeford, N.C.; a brother, Tom Johnston, Pueblo, Colo.; two sisters, Sandy Pino, Walsenburg, Colo., and Rose Smith, Pueblo; and two grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Volusia - Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129. Volusia Memorial, Ormond Beach, is in charge.

Raymond Wickwire

SEPT. 5, 1925 -- FEB. 27, 2005

EDGEWATER -- Raymond Merle Wickwire, 79, of India Palm Drive, a former machinist in the electrical industry, died Sunday at home.

Mr. Wickwire, an Army veteran of World War II, was born in Aiken, Pa. He moved to this area in 1986 from York, Pa. He was a member of the United Church of Christ, Red Lion, Pa. Mr. Wickwire enjoyed woodworking.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Janice; a son, Larry, Kane, Pa.; a daughter, Kim Mitzger, Red Lion; a brother, Clair, Abilene, Texas; five grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Volusia - Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129. Alavon Direct Cremation, South Daytona, is in charge.

Essie Adams

JUNE 12, 1956 -- JULY 11, 2004

DAYTONA BEACH -- Essie Mae "Georgia Peach" Adams, 48, of Atlantic Avenue, a certified nursing assistant, died Sunday at Florida Hospital-Ormond Memorial.

Ms. Adams was a native of Blackshear, Ga., and moved to this area in 1996 from Waycross, Ga. She enjoyed fishing and gardening.

Survivors include a daughter, Julia, Waycross; four brothers, Marion Adams, Daytona Beach, Lester and George Adams, both of Waycross, and Levi Adams, Fort Pierce; two sisters, Daisy Reeves, Daytona Beach, and Naomi Oliver, Waycross; three grandchildren; and two cousins, Helen and Effie Harper, both of Daytona Beach, and provided for her care. Perry Funeral Home, Waycross, is in charge.

Reynaldo Alvarado

AUG. 19, 1928 -- JULY 13, 2004

DELTONA -- Reynaldo L. Alvarado, 75, of Oslo Drive, who worked in the air craft service department of Eastern Airlines before his retirement, died Tuesday at DeBary Manor, DeBary.

Born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, Mr. Alvarado moved here in 1992 from Puerto Rico. He was a member of Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Community, where he was a sacristan and eucharistic minister. He also was a member of the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus.

Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Iris; five sons, David Rosario and Jorge Alvarado, both of Deltona, Jose Alvarado and Luis Alvarado, both of Orlando, and Pedro Rosario, Puerto Rico; two daughters, Thilda Alvarado, Brooklyn, N.Y., and Lourdes Puente, Brockton, Mass.; three sisters, Thilda Alvarado, Puerto Rico, Alicia Irrizarry, Puerto Rico, and Joanny Alvarado, Miramar; 16 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Deltona Memorial, Orange City, is in charge.

Pascasio Canales II

JUNE 30, 1947 -- JULY 12, 2004

BUNNELL -- Pascasio "Patrick" Canales II, 57, of Alder Avenue, a former pharmacist, mechanic, carpenter and handyman, died Monday at Florida Hospital-Flagler, Palm Coast.

Mr. Canales, an Army veteran of the Vietnam War, was born in Maco, Puerto Rico. He moved to this area in 1992 from Brooklyn, N.Y. He enjoyed fishing and cooking.

Survivors include his companion, Frances Gimeranez, Largo; and three sons, Salvatore and Pascasio "Charlie" Canales III, both of the Bronx, N.Y., and Nicholas Urena, Largo. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 555 W. Granada Blvd., Suite A-1, Ormond Beach, FL 32174. Craig-Flagler Palms, Flagler Beach, is in charge.

Wanda Cornelius

JUNE 6, 1922 -- JULY 13, 2004

ORMOND BEACH -- Wanda Marie Cornelius, 82, of Cypress Grove Lane, a resident since 1999, died Tuesday at the Coquina Center.

Mrs. Cornelius, a homemaker, was born in West Liberty, Ky. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Daytona Beach. She enjoyed long walks. Mrs. Cornelius also was a seamstress.

Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Ernest; a son, Gary, Neenah, Wis.; a daughter, Delores, Braley, Ormond Beach; a brother, James Peyton, Lexington, Ky.; two sisters, Alice Simmons, Ormond Beach, and Anita Ballenger, Virginia; and two grandchildren. Ethel Deckler

NOV. 8, 1908 -- JULY 13, 2004

DAYTONA BEACH -- Ethel Deckler, 95, of Forest Lake Boulevard, a native of New York City, died Tuesday at Halifax Medical Center.

Mrs. Deckler, a homemaker, moved here in 2000 from Keyport, N.J. She enjoyed bingo, crocheting and playing cards.

Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Wood, South Daytona, and Eileen DeSalvio, Adirondack, N.Y.; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Matthew Galloway

AUG. 8, 1989 -- JULY 10, 2004

EDGEWATER -- Matthew Paul Galloway, 14, of Silver Palm Drive, a New Smyrna Beach High School sophomore, died Saturday at Wataugua Medical Center, Boone, N.C., from injuries sustained in an automobile accident on a rural highway near Banner Elk, N.C.

Born in New Smyrna Beach, Matthew was a lifelong resident of this area. An avid Atlanta Braves and Florida State Seminoles fan, he enjoyed sports and played in the Edgewater Recreation Baseball, YMCA Basketball and Babe Ruth Baseball leagues. He was a member of Light of Calvary Church, New Smyrna Beach, where he was active in the youth group.

Survivors include his father, George, and his mother, Deborah Bullard, both of Edgewater; two brothers, Blake Bullard, Edgewater, and Zack Harrison, Blowing Rock, N.C.; a sister, Victoria Braucht, Edgewater; his maternal grandmother, Sue Bullard, North Carolina; and his maternal step-grandparents, Gene and Vickie Braucht, Edgewater. Viola Jenny

MAY 5, 1917 -- JULY 9, 2004

DAYTONA BEACH -- Viola M. Jenny, 87, of North Halifax Drive, a resident since 1983, died Friday at Florida Hospital-Ormond Memorial.

Mrs. Jenny, a retired inventory control clerk for Crane-Cochran, was born in New York City and moved to this area from Philadelphia. She was a member of the Holly Hill Recreational Center Line Dancing and Senior Exercise clubs. She enjoyed dancing.

Survivors include three daughters, Colleen Jones, Daytona Beach, Susan Bertucci, Norristown, Pa., and Loretta Jenny-Durborow, Perkasie, Pa.; a sister, Edwina Enddress, Philadelphia; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Tri-County Cremation, Longwood, is in charge.

Carmen Laboy

JAN. 2, 1955 -- JULY 11, 2004

PALM COAST -- Carmen Daisy Laboy, 49, of Cooper Lane, a native of Mayaques, Puerto Rico, died Sunday at Florida Hospital-Flagler, Palm Coast.

Mrs. Laboy, a homemaker, moved here in 1998 from the Bronx, N.Y. She enjoyed music and dancing.

Survivors include her companion, Harold O'Connor, Palm Coast; two sons, Mark and Michael, and a daughter, Leilani Laboy, all of the Bronx; her mother, Carmen Chaluisant, Palm Coast; four brothers, Jose Chaluisant, Palm Coast, Louis Arce, Ocala, Jose Pagan, Pensacola, and Carlos Chaluisant, Binghamton, N.Y.; a sister, Marisol Rosa, Massachusetts; and six grandchildren. Craig-Flagler Palms, Flagler Beach, is in charge.

James Lambert

JUNE 13, 1935 -- JULY 13, 2004

DELTONA -- James Dale "Jim" Lambert, 69, of Galt Terrace, who retired as a furniture manufacturer for Pride Industries, Florida City, died Tuesday at Florida Hospital-Fish Memorial, Orange City.

Mr. Lambert, an Army National Guard veteran, was born in Shelbyville, Ind., and came here in 1996 from Florida City. He was a member of Pine Ridge Fellowship Church and its Promise Keepers, the management team, the building committee and the church office. He also volunteered for the church's adult and small group Bible studies. An avid Miami Dolphin fan, Mr. Lambert also enjoyed woodworking, genealogy, reading and the beach.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Shirley; two daughters, Leslie Lambert, Deltona, and Kelly Lambert, Sanford; and a brother, Earl, and a sister, Mary Kay Bush, both of Shelbyville.
