Reginald Sharp

JAN. 12, 1923 -- APRIL 8, 2005

PORT ORANGE -- Reginald C. Sharp, 82, of Hensel Hill East, a compositor for the U.S. Government Printing Office in Washington, D.C., died Friday at Halifax Medical Center, Daytona Beach.

Mr. Sharp, an Army veteran of World War II, was born in York, Pa., and moved here in 1980 from College Park, Md. He was a member of the Maryland Club and the Printers and Typographical Workers Union.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Gladys; a son, Randy, Port Orange; a daughter, Robin McKoy, New Smyrna Beach; and four grandchildren. Cardwell & Maloney is in charge.

Juan Tosi

NOV. 19, 1937 -- APRIL 6, 2005

DELTONA -- Juan Carlos Tosi, 67, of Arista Terrace, a machinist in the tool and die industry, died Wednesday at Florida Hospital Fish Memorial, Orange City.

Mr. Tosi, a member of the Argentina Army, was born in Argentina and came here from Taramac in 2001. He enjoyed fishing and auto racing.

Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Josefina; a son, Carlos, and a daughter, Patricia Mejia, both of Deltona; a sister, Marta Genoese, Buenos Aires, Argentina; and four grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1620 S. Clyde Morris Blvd., Suite 300, Daytona Beach, FL 32119. Alavon Direct Cremation, South Daytona, is in charge.

Larry Trombley

APRIL 5, 1945 -- APRIL 7, 2005

PORT ORANGE -- Larry L. Trombley, 60, of Sunrise Oaks Drive, who worked as a machine set up header person with Michigan Rivet Corp., died Thursday at home.

Mr. Trombley was born in Mount Clemens, Mich., and came here in 1996 moved here from Mount Clemens, Mich. He was a member of the Eagles, United Auto Workers Local 155 and Sunrise Oaks Homeowners Association. He enjoyed golf, automobiles and motorcycles.

Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Ann; two sons, Joseph, Dryden, Mich., and David, Mount Clemens; two brothers, Irvin, Smithfield, Mich., and Dennis, Haughton, La.; two sisters, Gloria Hohf, Chesterfield, Mich., and Georgia Darling, Mount Clemens; and two grandson. Alavon Direct Cremation, South Daytona, is in charge.

Shirel Wanser

OCT. 10, 1946 -- APRIL 7, 2005

PALM COAST -- Shirel "Bob" Wanser, 58, of Beauford Lane, a retired heavy equipment operator for the City of North Hemstead, N.Y., after 35 years of service, died Thursday at Gambro Health Care.

Born in Flushing, N.Y., Mr. Wanser came here in 1991 from Albertson, N.Y. He enjoyed antiques, gardening, baking and going to flea markets.

Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Catherine; four daughters, Mary Margaret Wanser, Beverly Hills, Fla., and Carol Pagliuca, Cynthia Wagner and Brenda Cracolici, all of Palm Coast; a brother, Al, Palm Coast; and six grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation of Florida, 1040 Woodcock Road, Suite 119, Orlando, FL 32803. Lohman-Palm Coast is in charge.

James Curry
JULY 7, 1924 -- APRIL 18, 2005

DELAND -- James E. Curry, 80, of Oak Haven Circle, a member and pastor emeritus of Eastside Baptist Church, died Monday at Florida Hospital DeLand.

The Rev. Curry, an Army veteran of World War II, was born in Pine Castle, and moved to this area from Miami in 1979. A graduate of the Baptist Bible Institute of Lakeland, he served as pastor at many churches in Miami and Central Florida before his retirement in 1997. The Rev. Curry enjoyed fishing and woodworking.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Betty; a son, Logan, DeLand; four daughters, Jamie Luxton, New Smyrna Beach, and Rebecca Curry, Deborah Smoak and Cynthia Clements, all of DeLand; a brother, Leon, Orlando; three sisters, Buell Thompson, DeLand, Patty Pyle, Orlando, and Marion Clifton, Manchester, Tenn.; 15 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to Eastside Baptist Church, 700 S. Massachusetts Ave., DeLand, FL 32724. Carpenter-Curry is in charge.

Daniel Daly

NOV. 10, 1917 -- APRIL 13, 2005

PALM COAST -- Daniel G. "Gerry" Daly, 87, of Beverly Place, who retired as a security broker in 1982 for the Bank of New York, New York City, died Wednesday at Flagler Pines Nursing Home, Bunnell.

Mr. Daly, a Marine Corps veteran of World War II, was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and moved to this area in 1991 from Monroe, N.C. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8696, the Marine Corps League of Palm Coast, and the Knights of Columbus, Monsignor Leo Gildea Council 7845, where he was a 4th degree. He enjoyed playing golf, television news, and his dog Samson.

Survivors include his wife of 16 years, Sanalyn; a son, Brian, Missoula, Mont.; two daughters, Jeanne Kosartes, Cullowhee, N.C., and Sueanne Martin, Monroe; a sister, Eileen Daly, Melbourne; and a grandchild. Memorial donations may be made to the Knights of Columbus, Monsignor Leo Gildea Council 7845, P.O. Box 350219, Palm Coast, FL 32135-0219. Lohman Palm Coast is in charge.

Edwin DeJesus

JULY 10, 1955 -- APRIL 15, 2005

DELTONA -- Edwin DeJesus, 49, of Nedra Avenue, a radiology technician, died Friday at home.

Mr. DeJesus moved to this area in 1989 from his native San Antonio.

Survivors include a stepson, James Taylor, Holly Hill; his father, Angel; a brother, Hector, and a sister, Sandra DeJesus, both of Puerto Rico; and two grandchildren. Woodward, Holly Hill, is in charge.

Theresa Doherty

AUG. 8, 1921 -- APRIL 17, 2005

PORT ORANGE -- Theresa M. Doherty, 83, of Crooked Pine Road, a resident since 1993, died Sunday at home.

Mrs. Doherty, a homemaker, was born in Lowell, Mass., and moved to this area from North Tonawanda, N.Y. She attended Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church.

Survivors include a son, Charles Hiatt, Seattle; three daughters, Donna Hiatt-Armstrong, Glassboro, N.J., Judith Hessney, North White Plains, N.Y., and Linda Hiatt-Bogon, North Tonawanda; a brother, William Coutu, Cooper City; four sisters, Pauline Landry, Ocala, Doris Roberts, Randolph, Mass., Lorraine Coakley, Jamaica Plain, Mass., and Jacqueline Mowles, Oak Ridge, N.J.; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Helen Evans

SEPT. 19, 1953 -- APRIL 16, 2005

NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- Helen A. Evans, 51, of Magnolia Street, a substitute teacher at Read-Pattillo Elementary School, died Saturday at home.

Mrs. Evans moved to this area in 1966 from Chester, Pa., her birthplace. She also formerly worked at Coronado Paint in Edgewater. Mrs. Evans enjoyed fishing, gardening, country music and circle word puzzles.

Survivors include her husband, William; and a son, William Jr., her mother, Diana Schlipf, and a brother, Harry Schlipf, all of New Smyrna Beach. Memorial donations may be made to the American Lung Association of Florida, P.O. Box 549, Daytona Beach, FL 32115. Settle-Wilder is in charge.

Patricia Faulkner

AUG. 26, 1952 -- APRIL 18, 2005

UMATILLA -- Patricia Ann Faulkner, 52, of Umatilla, the mother of DeLand residents, James and Chris Hillman, died Monday at Lake Eustis Care Center, Eustis.

Mrs. Faulkner, the manager of Sobik's, was a native of Winter Haven.

Additional survivors include two brothers, George Moyer, Umatilla, and Glenn Carroll, Winter Haven; and two sisters, Gail Smith, Umatilla, and Wanda Baggett, Winter Haven. Beyers, Umatilla, is in charge.

Kathleen Green

NOV. 19, 1942 -- APRIL 17, 2005

ORANGE CITY -- Kathleen Diane Green, 62, of South Volusia Avenue, a native of Syracuse, N.Y., died Sunday at Orange City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, DeBary.

Ms. Green, a homemaker, moved to Central Florida from her birthplace in 1994. She enjoyed photography and gardening.

Survivors include two brothers, John and William Green, both of Syracuse; and two sisters, Blanche Fisher, Orange City, and Patricia Jones, Syracuse. Fourtowns Cremation is in charge.

Janet Harrison

JULY 11, 1917 -- APRIL 17, 2005

DELAND -- Janet Edith Harrison, 87, of North Stone Street, who retired as an insurance secretary in Portland, Maine, died Sunday at University Center East.

A native of Portland, Mrs. Harrison moved here in 1971 from Claremont, N.H. She was a member of First United Church of DeLand and enjoyed knitting, sewing and round and square dancing.

Survivors include a son, Paul, DeLand; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Memorial donations may be made to Journey's End, 1899 Mercers Fernery Road, DeLand, FL 32720. Allen-Summerhill, DeLand, is in charge.

Edna Langley

MAY 26, 1915 -- APRIL 18, 2005

NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- Edna Mae Langley, 89, of Saxon Drive, the former owner of Langley's Smart Apparel in Grove City, Pa., died Monday at Olds-Hall Good Samaritan Center, Daytona Beach.

Mrs. Langley was born in New Lexington, Ohio, and moved here from Grove City in 1980. She was a member and past deacon of First Presbyterian Church of New Smyrna Beach and worked in the Pink Door Thrift Shop as a member of the Bert Fish Medical Center Auxiliary. Mrs. Langley also was a member of the Friendship Force Club of New Smyrna Beach and Daytona Beach, Elks Ladies Lodge 1557, Brannon Senior Center, Order of Eastern Star in Sharon, Pa., and a longtime member of the Little Theatre.

Survivors include two daughters, Arlene Mendenhall, New Smyrna Beach, and Marybeth Mook, New Wilmington, Pa.; two sisters, Irene Wringer, Sharon, Pa., and Martha Bowler, Annapolis, Md.; and two grandchildren. Dudley, New Smyrna Beach, is in charge.

Robert Langlotz

MARCH 28, 1918 -- APRIL 18, 2005

PORT ORANGE -- Robert C. Langlotz, 87, of Nixon Lane, a retired self-employed civil engineer, died Monday at home.

Mr. Langlotz, an Army veteran, was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and moved to this area in 1965 from Charlottesville, Va. He was a graduate of Rollins College.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Grace; three sons, Peter, Port Orange, Lance, Holly Hill, and Robin, Orlando; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice. Cardwell & Maloney is in charge.
