JUNE 27, 1945 -- MAY 3, 2005

DAYTONA BEACH -- Claude V. "Pancho" Bright, 59, of North Lincoln Street, a native and lifelong resident of Volusia County, died Tuesday at home.

Mr. Bright, a 1963 graduate of Campbell High School, was a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of seven years, Barbara; six sons, Claude Bright Jr., Dale and Chevis Bright, Calvin and George Green and Tommy Jackson, and six daughters, Denase Geathers, Gale and Jasmine Bright, and Dorothy, Vera and Charlene Green, all of Daytona Beach; a sister, Veola Waiters, Miami; 19 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Gainous is in charge.

E. Ann Cary

MARCH 30, 1930 -- MAY 4, 2005

EDGEWATER -- E. Ann Cary, 75, of Lewis Street, a former hostess and manager for Holiday House restaurant, New Smyrna Beach, died Wednesday at Bert Fish Medical Center, New Smyrna Beach.

Mrs. Cary was born in Opelika, Ala., and moved to this area in 1975 from Orlando.

Survivors include a son, Paul Lenic, Daytona Beach; two sisters, Melissa Screws-Clayton, Charlotte, N.C., and Lea Lewis, Talladega, Ala.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1620 S. Clyde Morris Blvd., Suite 300, Daytona Beach, FL 32119. Dudley, Edgewater, is in charge.

George Dominianni

MAY 9, 1919 -- MAY 2, 2005

PALM COAST -- George J. Dominianni, 85, of Foster Lane, who retired as a meat inspector for the State of Florida, died Monday at Florida Hospital Flagler.

Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., Mr. Dominianni, moved here in 1995 from Keystone Heights. He also retired as a meat dealer and owner of butcher shops in New York. He was a member of the Knight of Columbus where he was a fourth-degree Knight and Captain and District Warden for three years. He was also a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks for 31 years, where he served on several State and Grand Lodge committees such as State President of the Florida Elks Association in 1983.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Ada; a son, Warren, Boston; a brother, Frank, Orange, Va.; and two grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to Florida Elks Charities, PO Box 49, Umatilla, FL 32784. Craig-Flagler Palms, Flagler Beach, is in charge.

Ethel Graham

JULY 14, 1911 -- APRIL 26, 2005

ORANGE CITY -- Ethel Graham, 93, of Southlake Drive, who retired as a fourth grade teacher in New York State, died April 26 at home.

Mrs. Graham was born in Ossining, N.Y., and moved here in 1990 from West Palm Beach. She earned her bachelor's degree from New Paltz Normal School for Teachers in New York.

Survivors include three daughters, Carolyn Graham and Janet Scribellito, both of Jasper, Ga., and Anita Costello, Palo Alto, Calif.; a grandchild; and a great-grandchild. Memorial donations may be made to the Graham Family Scholarship Fund, Seminole Community College Foundation, Seminole Community College, 100 Weldon Blvd., Sanford, FL 32773. Lankford, DeLand, is in charge.

Marguerite Harrington-Habenicht

DEC. 20, 1907 -- APRIL 30, 2005

ORMOND-BY-THE-SEA -- Marguerite B. Harrington-Habenicht, 97, of Ocean Shore Boulevard, a former medical secretary for Jackson Memorial Hospital, Miami, died Saturday at home.

Mrs. Harrington-Habenicht was born in Fort Dodge, Iowa, and moved to this area in 2004 from Plantation. She was a member of St. Bonaventure Catholic Church, Davie. She enjoyed playing bridge.

Survivors include two sons, Robert Harrington, Palno, Texas, and John Harrington, San Diego; and a daughter, Patricia Harrington, Ormond-by-the-Sea. Haigh-Black, Ormond Beach, is in charge.

Irene Hyjek

MARCH 26, 1915 -- MAY 3, 2005

EDGEWATER -- Irene E. Hyjek, 90, of Sabal Palm Drive, a retired factory worker, died Tuesday at Halifax Medical Center, Daytona Beach.

Mrs. Hyjek moved to this area in 1980 from her native Buffalo, N.Y. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, New Smyrna Beach, and its Legion of Mary. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, watching soap operas, playing cards, word searches, crossword puzzles, yard sales and animals.

Survivors include a son, Robert, New Smyrna Beach; a daughter, Irene "Jacki" Garcia, Falls Church, Va.; seven grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren, including Erica Hyjek, Edgewater, who provided for her care. Memorial donations may be made to the Southeast Volusia Humane Society, 1200 S. Glencoe Road, New Smyrna Beach, FL 32168. Settle-Wilder, New Smyrna Beach, is in charge.

Barbara Magill

APRIL 26, 1932 -- MAY 3, 2005

ORMOND BEACH -- Barbara Magill, 73, of Ocean Shore Boulevard, a resident since 1986, died Tuesday at Florida Hospital Ormond Memorial.

Mrs. Magill, a homemaker, was born in Milwaukee and moved to this area from Katonah, N.Y. She was a former nurses aide, interior designer and taught equestrian skills. She was a member of the Junior League of Daytona-Sustained, the Oceanside Country Club, the Halifax River Yacht Club, and P.E.O. Sisterhood Chapter G.Q. Mrs. Magill enjoyed cooking, swimming, bowling and needlework.

Survivors include four sons, Robert Crimmins, Port St. Lucie, David Crimmins, Cary, N.C., Carl Magill, New Orleans, and Scott Magill, Walden, N.Y.; a daughter, Susan Crimmins, Conway, Mass.; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandson. Woodward, Holly Hill, is in charge.

Betty O'Clair

OCT. 2, 1943 -- MAY 4, 2005

EDGEWATER -- Betty Ann O'Clair, 61, of Date Palm Drive, a pharmaceutical assistant for a drug store, died Wednesday at Bert Fish Medical Center, New Smyrna Beach.

Mrs. O'Clair was born in Troy, N.Y., and moved to this area in 1994 from Waterford, N.Y. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the American Legion Auxiliary Post 17, both of New Smyrna Beach. She enjoyed gardening and working outdoors.

Survivors include her husband, Thomas; a son, John Wahlen, Holly Hill; several brothers and sisters; and six grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 998 Father Donlan Drive, New Smyrna Beach, FL 32168. Baldwin Brothers Memorial, New Smyrna Beach, is in charge.

John Richardson

APRIL 25, 1929 -- MAY 5, 2005

OCKLAWAHA -- John Drew Richardson, 76, of Ocklawaha, a native of DeLand, died Thursday at Summerfield Suites Hospice House, Summerfield.

Mr. Richardson, an Air Force veteran of the Korean War, was a graduate of DeLand High School. He worked as an air traffic controller in Oklahoma City, Okla., until his retirement in 1991. He attended the University of Florida in Gainesville, and was an instructor for the FAA at the ACC Center in Oklahoma City.

Survivors include his wife, Melodie; a son, John, Los Angeles; two daughters, Leslie Peters and Ida Richardson, both of Orlando; two brothers, Charles, DeLand, and Gordon, Jonesboro, Ga.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to Marion County Hospice, 3231 S.W. 34th Ave., Ocala, FL 34474. All Faiths Cremation, The Villages, is in charge.

Fred Schlitt

APRIL 19, 1916 -- MAY 4, 2005

PORT ORANGE -- Fred G. Schlitt, 89, of Del Rio Drive, who retired after 30 years with General Motors in Tarrytown, N.Y., died Wednesday at Port Orange Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Mr. Schlitt, an Army veteran of World War II, was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and moved here in 1979 from Fishkill, N.Y. He also served as a former fire department captain in Ossining, N.Y., and enjoyed woodworking.

Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Mary; three daughters, Alice Wiesmore, Ponce Inlet, Deborah Meyer, Orlando, and Sandra Young, Sarasota; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Volusia - Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129. Volusia Memorial, Port Orange, is in charge.

Justus Schneider

DEC. 14, 1917 -- MAY 3, 2005

NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- Justus Roy Schneider, 87, of Turnbull Bay Road, a retired mechanic for the Volusia County School Board, died Tuesday at Bert Fish Medical Center.

Mr. Schneider, an Army veteran of World War II, was born in Cincinnati and moved to this area in 1946 from Ohio. He was a member of Covenant United Methodist Church of Port Orange. He enjoyed traveling.

Survivors include a son, Lee, New Smyrna Beach; a daughter, Peggy Meeks, DeLand; and seven grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to Covenant United Methodist Church of Port Orange, 3701 S. Clyde Morris Blvd., Port Orange, FL 32129. Carpenter-Curry, DeLand, is in charge.

Catherine Green Straka

FEB. 25, 1923 -- MAY 4, 2005

GREENWOOD, Ind. -- Catherine Anna Green Straka, 82, of Greenwood, Ind., a Palm Coast resident from 1992 to 2000, died Wednesday at St. Francis Hospital, Indianapolis.

Mrs. Green Straka was born in Yonkers, N.Y. She retired in 1983 as an administrative assistant to the director of the East Hudson Parkway Authority, Pleasantville, N.Y. She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary, Palm Coast, and Naurashaun Chapter of the Eastern Star, Pearl River, N.Y.

Survivors include a daughter, Jeanne MacLeod, Greenwood; and two grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1620 S. Clyde Morris Blvd., Suite 300, Daytona Beach, FL 32119. Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, Greenwood, is in charge.

Adeline Sztorc

APRIL 12, 1924 -- MAY 5, 2005

DELTONA -- Adeline M. Sztorc, 81, of Deltona, a resident since 1989, died Thursday at Florida Hospital Fish Memorial, Orange City.

Mrs. Sztorc, a homemaker, moved to this area from her native Chicago. She was a member of Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church.

Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Bruno; a daughter, Barbara Klein, Deltona; a sister, Lillian Kurek, Elk Grove Village, Ill.; and a granddaughter. Deltona Memorial, Orange City, is in charge.

Sandra Wall

DEC. 31, 1955 -- MAY 4, 2005

CHESAPEAKE, Va. -- Sandra Wall, 49, of Chesapeake, the daughter of Daytona Beach resident, John Mullen, died Wednesday at a hospital in Chesapeake.

Ms. Wall was born in Omaha and worked for a commercial cleaning business in Chesapeake.

Additional survivors include her mother, Donna Mullen, Newport News, Va. Cremation Society of Virginia-Peninsula, Newport News, Va., is in charge.
