GARCIA, Maria A., 89, of Tampa, died January 8, 2001. She is survived by her three sons, Raul S. Garcia of Tampa, Fla., Jorge L. Garcia of Cedar Grove, N.J., Carlos M. Garcia of Ft. Worth, Texas ; one daughter, Matilde Garcia Scottsville, N.Y.; nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Mrs. Garcia was born in Cardenas, Cuba and moved to the Tampa area in 1983 from New Jersey. She was a homemaker and of the Protestant faith. Graveside Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday in Garden of Memories Cemetery.

GRIMES, Frankie V., 73 of Plant City, Florida passed away on January 8, 2001 at Plant City Health Care Center. She is survived by three brothers, Curtis L. Grimes of Plant City, Ronald R. Grimes of Lakeland, John A. Grimes of Ocala; and two sisters, Barbara J. Goodson and Shirley Lott of Plant City. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday January 11, 2001 at Plant City Church of God. The family will receive friends at the church one hour before the service. Ms. Grimes was a member of the Plant City Church of God where she taught Sunday school for several years. Final interment will be at Bethlehem Cemetery, Dover, Florida.

HERNANDEZ, Genoveva, 73, of Land O' Lakes, went on to be with the Lord on January 8, 2001. She is survived by her husband, Salvador; two daughters, Ruth DeJesus and Doris Hernandez-Rojas both of Land O'Lakes; one brother, Rafael Romero of Land O'Lakes; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was born in Hatillo, Puerto Rico and moved to this area from Staten Island, N.Y. in 1994. She was a homemaker and a member of the Amazing Grace Baptist Church of Wesley Chapel.

HITE, Adah Rosemary , 82, of Tampa, passed away Sunday, January 7, 2001. Survivors include her daughters, Carol W. Haok and husband, Kenneth of Tampa, Janet E. Hite of Tampa; sister, Betty Hisao of Hawaii. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl E. Hite in 1997 and her son, Richard E. Hite in 1975. Born in Rosedale West Virginia, Mrs. Hite moved to Tampa from Toronto Ohio in 1981.

Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to St. Mark Evangelist Catholic Church Building Fund, 9724 Cross Creek Blvd., Tampa, FL 33647 in memory of Don. A Funeral Mass will be offered for his soul Wednesday (today) at 11 o'clock at St. Mark Evangelist Catholic Church, with Rev. Father Eric Peters officiating. JASKIEL, Wladyslaw, 88, of Tampa died Monday in Tampa. He is survived by his wife, Maria; two sons, George and Stefan; and daughter, Halina all of Tampa. Also a brother Jan of New York and a sister Franciska of Poland. He served as part of the Allied Armed Forces in World War II. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6-8:00 p.m. with a wake service at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Pauls Catholic Church with interment to follow at Florida National Cemetery.

KELLY, Mary Catherine, a native of Wisconsin and a graduate of St. Mary's College, Notre Dame, Ind., died December 28, 2000. Her survivors are her husband, Jim of 50 years; son, James P. Kelly Jr., wife Jane Kelly and grandchildren, Colin and Erin Kelly of Houston, Texas ; daughter Maureen Kelly-Ostrosky and husband Stephen J. Ostrosky of Maryland; and one sister and six brothers. She retired from Tampa Catholic H.S. after a fulfilling career as an educator. A memorial service will be held at Christ The King Church on Saturday, January 31, 2001.

KILEY, George E., 74, of Valrico passed away Monday, January 8, 2001. He is survived by two sons, Stephen G. Kiley of Winter Park, Fla., James M. Kiley and his wife, Laura of Brandon, Fla.; three grandchildren. A native of Northampton, Mass., he has resided in Tampa area since 1957. He was a chemical manufacturing company salesman; a Merchant Marines World War II veteran, he had attended the U. S. Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, N.Y. Also he had been active in Boy Scouts and youth sports activities in the Brandon area and had been a long time member of the Brandon High School Athletic Booster Club. A Memorial service to be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in his memory.

A Funeral Mass will be offered for the repose of her soul Friday afternoon at 12:30 p.m. at The Epiphany Of Our Lord Catholic Church, 2 510 E. Hanna Ave., with the Rev. OVERBEY, Hildred Lee, of Tampa, Florida, formerly of Nashville, suffered a stroke on October 11th, slipped into a coma on October 14th, and passed on to be with her maker on January 6, 2001. She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, William Clifton Overbey; three children, Constance O. Luttrell (Al) of Franklin, Tennessee, Linda Parker (Bill) of Atlanta, Georgia, and Thomas Lee Overbe y (Denise) of Tampa, Florida; four grandchildren, Lynn Hussung (Michael) of Nashville, Tennessee, Charles Edwin Winger, Jr. (Erika) of Bowling Green, Kentucky, Chris Winger (Amanda) of Memphis, Tennessee; Johnny Guffee (Amber) of Franklin, Tennessee; and eight great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at Idlewild Baptist Church in Tampa, Florida, on Thursday, January 11, at 4:30 p.m. (Vi sitation immediately following.) Born in Muhlenberg County, Kentucky, on August 23, 1923, Hildred later moved to Louisville where she met and married her husband, W.C. They subsequently lived in Memphis, Atlanta, and Nashville before retiring to Sarasota, Florida, then finally settling in the Tampa area. In both Tennessee and Florida, Mrs. Overbey was an active member of several women's organizations, including Republican Women, the Florida Orchestra Guild, Red Cross Angels, and several bible and prayer groups. She was a former president of the Fidelis Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church in Nashville.

PARRA Rodriguez, `Eva` Evangelina, passed away at the age of 101 on January 6, 2001. Eva is survived by a son Elizardo (Jimmy) Calvo of Massachusetts; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; a niece Norma Baron Lobato and nephew Mario Parra. Oreste Couceyro was her caring and loving companion for over twenty five years. Eva was born on July 28, 1899, in Ybor City to Louisa Perez Par ra and Louis Parra. Her grandparents originated from the Canary Islands and Northern Spain. She was preceded in death by three sisters, one brother and a daughter: Ovania Barbon, Caridad Gonzalez, Perola Miranda, Louis Parra Jr., and Mirta Fernandez all of Tampa. She lived in New York City for thirty years leaving Tampa during the Great Depression. Eva believed in viewing life from a positive poin t of view, caring little for worldly possessions. This wonderful centurion found joy and adventure in what others may have deemed mundane. She feared little and loved much. Eva's great sense of humor, her independent spirit and the excitement she created in others by just being around them will be missed by those who cared and loved her. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 10, 2001 at the Garden of Memories Cemetery.
