Knight of Dover, Florida; a sister: Lora Duckworth of Dover, Florida; twenty eight grandchildren; 48 great- grandchildren and two great-great g randchildren.Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday Morning, January 9, 2001 at the Eastaide Baptist Church of Dover, 3101 Sydney Dover Road, Dover, Florida with Reverend Al Livingston and Reverend James Smith, to officiate. The family will receive friends at Wells Memorial Funeral Home 1903 West Reynolds Street, Plant City, Florida on Monday evening, January 8, 2001 from 6:00 till 8:00 p. m. A native of Madison county and a local resident since she moved here in 1928, Mrs. Rogers was a homemaker; retired from Ocean products of Dover, Florida and she was a member of Eastside Baptist Church of Dover. Mrs. Rogers loved to cook and was noted for her biscuits and every Sunday, she cooked for over 25 people in her home. Final interment will be at the Dover Cemetery Dover, Florida. Rayburn and Olivia Gott; she is survived by her six sons, Willard Sheffield of Calhoun, Georgia; Clarence Sheffield of Calhoun, Georgia; Solomon Sheffield of Lakeland, Florida; Edwin Sheffield of Plant City, Flor ida; Daniel Sheffield of Jacksonville, Florida and Clifford Sheffield of Kennasaw, Georgia: three daughters, Elanor Lorraine Cothron of Moultrie, Georgia; Annie Marion Hart of Plant City, Florida; Faye Sutton of Lakeland, Florida; thirty-five grandchildren; fifty-three great-grandchildren; seventeen great-great-grandchildren and one great-great-great-grandchild. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon, January 9, 2001 at the Haynes Funeral Home, 610 North Alexander Street, Plant City, Florida with Reverend Joe Bowles, to officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening, January 8, 2001 from 6:00 till 8:00 p.m. A native of Barny, Georgia and a local resident since 1952 when Mrs. Hiott moved here from Moultrie, Georgia. A native of Rexburg, Idaho, he has lived in Tampa area since 1945; he was past president of F.F.V.A; a member of Ruskin Tomato Growers Association; inducted into the Florida Agriculture Hall of Fame; received the Hillsborough County Fair Harvest Award for lifetime achievement; an Army Major in WWII with the OSS; member of Ruskin V.F.W. Memorial Post No. 6287; an Amateur Radio Operator, Brandon Chapt er; a 32nd Degree Mason, Scottish Rites; a Hillsborough County Park Board Chairman for 32 years, having a park dedicated in his honor; a member of Gibsonton United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be conducted 10:00 A.M. Wednesday at the Stowers Brandon Chapel with Reverend Dave Stedman officiating. Interment to follow at Ruskin Cemetery with military Honors. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:30 until 8:30 P.M. at the funeral home. ANDERSON, L.B., Sr., 75, passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2001. A longtime resident of Tampa, Fla., Mr. Anderson was born and raised in Edison, Georgia. He is preceded in death by his mother, Lilian Mitchell; and brother, Roosevelt Anderson. He is survived by his wife, Altomease Anderson; children; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; relatives and a host of friends. He served in the Army of th e United States during World War II, as part of the first all Black Army Companies to parti- cipate in the Liberation of Europe from Hitler's reign. Mr. Anderson retired from Dunlap Tire Company after many years of service. Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 11, 2001, 11:00 a.m. at the Ray Williams Funeral Chapel, 301 N. Howard Ave. The final resting place for Mr. Anderson will be Bushnell National Cemetery.

AVANT, Roland O., 75, of Valrico passed away Sunday, January 7, 2001. He is survived by his wife, Ula Mae and son, Gary Avant of Valrico; brother, R. L. He has resided in the Tampa area most of his life, he was a warehouse manager for an industrial insulation company, an Army-Air Corps WWII veteran and a member of Cornerstone Bap tist Church. She is survived by her husband, Charles Chiaramonte of Tampa, Fla.; two sons, Charles, Jr. and Jerry Chiaramonte both of Tampa, Fla.; three grandchildren, Jessica, Eric, Joseph; two sisters, Violet Mathis, Elsie Shirley both of S.C. and nieces and nephews. A native of West Palm Beach, Fla., she moved to the Tampa area in 1945 coming from West Palm Beach. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service.

DENLEY, Hilda Slack, age 75, of Orange County, California, and long time resident of Tampa, died January 6, 2001. She was the wife of the late Robert H. Denley and beloved mother of Susan Denley Nottingham of Orange County, California, and Carol Denley Tudor of Southwick, Massachusetts. She is survived by her sister, Marianna Slack Neighbors of Montgomery, Alabama; three grandchildren: Robert, Bridget, and Heather. Funeral service will be held in Orange County, California, with interment in Myrtle Hill Cemetery, Tampa.

DIERINGER, Ervin A., 86 of Plant City, died December 25, 2000. He is survived by his brother, George and niece, Carol Wright both of Plant City; sisters, Delores Mohar and Mildred Bieszk both of Wisconsin. Memorial Services will be held on Friday, January 12, 2001, at 7:00 p.m. in HAUGHT FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL with Rev. Thomas Spillet officiating. HOLBIN, Donald R. (Don), age 52 of Tampa, passed away January 7, 2001. Survivors include his beloved wife, Brenda A. HUSTON, William Howard, went to be with his Lord on January 6, 2001. He was 80. Mr. Huston was born in Lone Pine, Pa. September 15, 1920. Mr. Huston is survived by his sister, Corinne Humphries of Washington , Pa. he was preceded in death by brothers, Jim, Harry and Robert; and sister, Gladys Ries. He was a graduate of Washington H.S., Washington , Pa. He enlisted in the Army Air Corps in World War II and after training as a radio operator, was assigned to the Eighth Air Force flying B-24 combat missions out of England. He and members of his survived a crash landing caused by hostile aircraft and were POW detainees for nine months in Geneva, Switzerland until the war's end. After the war and additional training, Mr. Huston was recruited as an intelligence intercept operator for the Offic e of Strategic Intelligence and was assigned to the U.S. Embassy in Peking, China. He remained on staff until evacuated coincident to Chang Kai Shek's expulsion from China in 1948. Mr. Huston relocated to Miami, Florida where he worked for Hertz Auto Rental. He then began a remarkable career as a Fuller Brush salesman, covering area in the Southeast to Texas . He won many regional and national sale s awards. In 1956, Mr. Huston formed a partnership with the late Mr. Harold F. Scott in the antiques business, with shops both in Tampa and West Middletown, Pa., until he retired. Mr. Huston was a member of Northwest Baptist Church, Tampa and earned recognition for his hundreds of volunteer hours in the gift shop of Town and Country Hospital. He will be missed by his friends and family, including many nieces and nephews, as well as close friends, Ivan, Joyce, Kristi Peck and Jim Wilson, upon whom he showered many blessings with his love and concern, daily prayer in life and Christian example. Viewing 6:30-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 9, at Swilley Funeral Home, 1602 W. Waters Ave., Tampa, followed by a Memorial Service. Interment in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, 10:00 a.m. January 10, 2001. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations to be made to Northwest Baptist Church.

She came to the Tampa area in 1959 f rom Indiana . Mrs. Lowe was a homemaker and a member of the Brandon Fellowship Baptist Church and D.A.V. Chapter #110 Women's Auxiliary. Funeral services will be held Thursday 2:00 p.m. at Hilisboro Memorial Funeral Home, interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens, Thonotosassa, Fla.
