A native and lifelong resident of Tampa, Mr. Paiz was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Larry and Martha Paiz and is survived by his daughter, Serena Paiz and his grandson, Christopher Nicholas Jimmy Paiz; daughter, Lindsey Paiz; brother,Larry Paiz and his nephew and nieces, Larry, Jr., Lucy and Lisa Paiz; aunt, Grace Vernac cini; cousins, Linda, Darryl and Debbie Mesa, Sandra, Ruben, Richard, Ronnie and Ray Valdez, Jose and Sonia Gregory, Victor, Sabrina and Duany Fernandez, Melissa Olivero,Ichelle Sotolongo and Chantelle Griffin; good friends, Tony Frisco, Fido, Albert and Danny. PERKEY, Ruth F., age 98, of Brooksville, Fla., passed away December 29, 2000 at Brooksville Health Care Center. She was born in Homeland, Fla., on October 29, 1902, lived in Ft. Myers Fla. from 1904 to 1940 and then in Crafton, Pa. from 1940 till 1992, moving to Brooksville, Fla. She is the daughter of the late Taylor and Anna (Dagenhardt) Frierson; and the great-granddaughter of the late Judge Perry G. Wall. She is survived by two daughters, Peggy Taylor McGinn Egnatoff of Huntington, W.Va.; and Ann Winston McGinn Huddart of Spring Hill, Fla.; also survived by three grandchildren, John E. O'Donnell Jr., Carol Ann Egnatoff and Karl Winston Egnatoff; and three great-grandchildren, Jordan, Steven and Daniel Egnatoff. Memorial services will be held at a later date in Fort Myers, Fla. and memorial contributions may be made to the Frierson-Henry Cemetery payable to Julia K. PIPPIN, Dana Michelle, 22, of Kissimmee, Florida, passed away on Saturday, December 30, 2000. Ms. Pippin is predeceased in death by her grandmother: Loretta Reeves. She is survived by her grandparents: Ervin and Kay Clemons of Plant City; grandfather: James F. Pippin and his wife Mary L.; step grandmother: Juanita Turbyfill of Plant City; mother and stepfather: Roylyn and Bobby Turbyfill of Pl ant City; father and stepmother: James M. and Shari Pippin of Mulberry, Florida; three sisters: Amanda Turbyfill and Dee Bozeman both of Plant City; Kayla Turbyfill of Society Hill, South Carolina. She was a sales clerk and a member of Victory Baptist Church. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 3, 2001 from 5-7:30 at Wells Memorial Funeral Home, 1903 W. Reynolds Street. Services will be by at 2:00 p.m. on January 4, 2001 at the Victory Baptist Church, 2603 South Baptist Church Road, Plant City, with Rev. Charles Hollowell and Rev. Joe Bowles officiating. Interment will be at Springhead Cemetery.

RATLIFF, Isabelle Broward, age 77, of Plant City passed away on December 31, 2000 in Plant City, Florida. She will be sadly missed by her loving and devoted husband of 61 years, Alfred Ratliff, Sr; her son, Alfred Jr. and his wife, Rae of Lutz, son, Jack and his wife, Gwen of Riverview; daughter, Sandra Collins and her husband, Tom of Tampa; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; her br other and sister-in-law, Jack and Bernice Broward of Encinitas, Calif.; sister-in-law, Bette Broward of Tampa; and several nieces and nephews; along with many special friends. She was born in Daytona Beach, Florida, and as a young child, her family moved to the Tampa area. She attended Hillsborough High School and enjoyed being a part of the reunion committee. She was a charter member of the Spinn ing Wheels Square Dance Club and a committed advocate of `Toys for Tots` She was a former editor of the West Coast Dancer magazine and for many years a valued employee of Mutual Finance Company. Funeral services will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home, followed by internment at Sunset Memory Gardens on Hwy. 301. The family will receive friends this evening (Wednesday) from 6:00 til 8:00 p.m. at Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may made to the charity of your choice in her memory.

RICHARDS, Howard Eugene, 72, lifelong resident of Tampa died on December 31, 2000. Survivors include his wife of 53 years Virginia Marie; children, Rev. Howard E. Richards II and his wife Cindy of Franklinton, La., Twila Richards Amey and her husband Dr. Brent Amey of Odessa, Fla.; sister; Laura Fisher of Treasure Island, Fla.; grandchildren, Amanda Richards, Julie Richards Leech and husband K eith, Brian Richards, Ashley Amey and Grant Amey. Mr. Richards was a retired Captain from the City of Tampa Fire Department and he was a Radiation Director of Syncor Nuclear Pharmacy. He was also a member of the Hillsborough Region Antique Auto Club, Woodcrafters of Tampa and the Brandon Woodworkers Club. Visitation will begin 12:00 p.m. at Blount Curry & Roel Funeral Home, 4207 E. Lake Avenue, Ta mpa FL 33610. Graveside services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Garden of Memories Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to LifePath Hospice, 3010 W. Azeele Street, Tampa, FL 33609.

Stimatz, of Brandon; Donna Copo, of Gainesville; sister, Delores M. Brantmyer, of Tampa, six grandchildren, Todd A. Stimatz, Sean A. Stimatz, Jason Wallce, Linnea A. Rickard, Lisa Wallce, and eight nieces and nephews. RISENER, Louise H. 90, of Tampa passed away Sunday, December 31, 2000 at Mariner Health Care Center. She is survived by her daughters Vicki Risener of Tampa and Betty R. Griffith of Jacksonville and a son George A. Risener of Tampa as well as three grandchildren; Kathryn Burnam, Elizabeth Griffith, and Robert Griffith, Jr. all of Jacksonville and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 5, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. at the Mark III Funeral Home South Tampa Chapel with Rev. John Meisenbach of Palma Ceia Christian Church officiating. Interment will follow at Myrtle Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Friday. RODRIGUEZ, Elmer `Erm`, 47, of Mulberry passed away Friday, December 29, 2000. He is survived by his wife, Michelle; daughters, Jessica of Zephyrhills and Brisa of Mulberry; mother, Santos of Lorain, Ohio; brothers, Mike, Paul, Nelson and Hector of Lorain, Ohio; sisters, Maria Rodriguez of Lorain, Ohio and Mary Arellano of New York, N.Y. He was employed by International Marine. Funeral service s will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday at the Stowers Brandon Chapel. Interment to follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 til 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

ROY, Louis, 76, of Seffner, Fla., passed away on December 31, 2000. Born in Stevens Point, Wis., he moved to the Tampa area from there seven years ago. He is survived by his wife Arlene of Seffner; sons, Ronald of Rudolph, Wis.; Gary of Oconomowoc, Wis.; Darrel of Plover, Wis.; daughter, Linda Robards of Tampa; four sisters; 18 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was a World War II veteran in the U.S. Army, a member of the Order of the Purple Heart, member of the American Legion, and The Veterans of Foreign Wars. He recently worked at Gator Ford in Tampa, Fla. until an accident stopped him from working. Memorial serviced will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2001, 6:00 p.m. at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home, 6919 Providence Road, Riverview, FL 33569. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time.

Smith of Tampa, Fla.; daughter, Patsy Lovengreen Terrell and husband, William of Brooksville, Fla.; one granddaughter, Artie Pelletier; three great-grandchildren, Joseph, Justin and Christine Pelletier; four great-great-grandchildren. Mr. Smith was a member of Holyrood Lodge #257, F & A. M. and Scottish Rite. Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral chapel with Rev. Joseph Sweat, Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Garden of memories Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to service. SPAULDING, Harold Sr., 92, of Gibsonton passed away December 28, 2000. He is survived by his wife, Winifred Spaulding of Gibsonton. Survivors include his son, Harold Spaulding Jr. and wife, Donna of Riverview; his daughter, Martha Hopkins of Tampa; his son, Richard Owens of Gibsonton; hisdaughter, Pat Nickell of Abilene, Tex.; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who are among man y who will dearly miss him. Mr. Spaulding, a native of Burlington, Vermont, was former owner and operator of Spauling's Radiator Service in Tampa for 30 years prior to moving to Gibsonton. Following cremation, memorial services will be held at a later date.

SPILMAN, Walter M., 78, of Tarpon Springs, died, Saturday, December 30, 2000 in Perry, Florida in an automobile accident. He is survived by wife of 57 years, Rachel Spilman, Tarpon Springs, Fla.; son, Thomas Earl Spilman, Mt. Airey, Md., son, Tim Spilman, Chattahoochee, Fla., son, Larry Spilman, Winter Park, Fla., son, Alan Spilman, Tarpon Springs, Fla.; brother, Wilbur Spilman, Archer, Fla.; nine grandchildren. He was born in Washington , D.C. and came to Tarpon Springs in 1980 from Olney, Maryland. He attended Duke University for a V12 Officer Training Program while in the United States Marine Corps and was an officer and veteran of World War II and Korea. He received a BS degree from Florida Southern College in Lakeland and did graduate work at the University of Maryland. He was a mi crobiologist at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Washington DC, after his military service. He then became vice president at Gordon Friesen International Corporation and eventually was owner and president of Health Systems Counseling. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Old Timers Club, Historical Society, all of Tarpon Springs, Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity and American Public Health Association. Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 3 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Vinson Funeral Home. The funeral service will be on Thursday, January 4 at 10:00 am, held in the Faith Chapel at the First United Methodist Church. Burial following at Cycadia Cemetery, Tarpon Springs. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to, Jan Spilman Memorial Fund, St. Paul's Presbyterian Church 807A S. Orlando St., Winter Park, FL 32792. Vinson Funeral Home, Tarpon Springs, Fla.

SPRAWLS, Roger Calhoun, 57, of Brandon passed away January 1, 2001. He is survived by his wife, Jackie; sons, Sean and Ian Sprawls, all of Brandon. A native of Newberry, S.C., he has resided in Tampa area since 1966. He was a field engineer with Tampa Electric and a Baptist. Funeral services will be conducted 2:30 p.m. Wednesday (today) at the Stowers Brandon Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.

TERRANA, Frank, 66, of Tampa, died peacefully December 29, 2000. Survivors include brother Vincent Terrana and wife Judy; brother Jack Terrana and wife Susan; nephews Vincent Perry Terrana and wife Dr. Lisa Carter-Terrana; nephew Anthony Terrana; niece Sherri Terrana; niece Alisha Nelson and husband Rick; great nieces Sabra and Emily Nelson. Mr Terrana is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins; long-time friend Clorinda Salciccioli; and many fraternal brothers and sisters. Frank was predeceased by his parents Giacinto (Jack) and Angelina Terrana. He was a lifetime resident of Tampa and retired from the State of Florida Health Department. He was a member of Unita Lodge #2015, Order Sons of Italy in America, serving two terms as President and in many other positions. He was i nstrumental in beginning the Lodge's Feast of St. Joseph celebration 27 years ago. He was also a member and officer of the Columbus Association of Tampa. Contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 5011 W. Hillsborough Ave., Tampa, FL 33634, in his memory. The family will receive friends Friday afternoon from 2:00-3:00 p.m. at the funeral home with services beginning at 3:00 p.m. with Sons of Italy Ritual and the recitation of the Catholic Wake Rite presented by Christ The King Catholic Church clergy. A private interment will follow at a later date.

XENICK, Helen, 72, formerly of West Palm Beach, died December 29, 2000. She is survived by two brothers, Constantine (Dino) Xenick, of Tampa, George Xenick and his wife, Cindy, of Tampa; niece, Angelique Xenick, of Orlando; two nephews, Mike and his wife, Maria, of Tampa, Dean and his fiancee, Maria, of West Palm Beach. Donations may be made in her name to the Life Path Hospice at 3010 W. Azeele in Tampa.

Meeks of Springhill, Fla.; three grandchildren, Joe, John and Christy; four great-grandchildren, Jessica, Vincent, John Michael and Christopher. A Funeral Service will be held Thursday, January 4, at 10:00 a.m. at the Funeral Home. A private interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday.

CHILDS, Stacy T. `Corky` Jr., 46, of Dade City, passed away Saturday, December 30, 2000 at Pasco Regional Medical Center. Survivors include wife, Pamela, of Dade City; two daughters, Stacie Childs, of Dade City, and Sandi Ellis, of Zephyrhills; two sons, Patrick Cordell and Robert McColl, both of Dade City; grandson, Cody Ellis, of Zephyrhills; sister, Barbara Moshele, of Dade City; and neice, Donna Moshele, of Philadelphia. Mr. Childs was a truck driver and a Baptist. Family will receive friends from 6-7:30 p.m., Wednesday at the F.H. with services at 7:30 p.m.

MARX, Richard E., 68, of Apollo Beach, Fla., passed away on December 30, 2000 in Sun City Center, Fla. He is survived by his wife, Lucita Marx, of Apollo Beach; son, Richard E. Marx Jr., of Highland Park, N.J.; daughter, Randal Marie Ogle, of Bayville, N.J.; Kimberly Kringle, of Stanardsville, Va.; Juliandra Owins, of Robbinsville, N.J.; seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, C hristopher Marx. He was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey and was in the U.S. Army. A memorial mass will be said on Wednesday, January 3, 2001, 10:00 a.m., at St. Anne Catholic Church, Ruskin, Fla. with Father Norman Choate officiating.

WEST, Helen `Margie`, 73, passed away December 26, 2000. Survivors include three children, Susan Fannin, Timothy and Matthew; two brothers, Wayne and Quade Jackson; and six grandchildren. A long time resident of Springfield, Ill., she moved to Lakeland in 1977 and was employed at Robyn Lynne's for 22 years and a member of Victory Church. She was predeceased by her husband, Fred W. West in 1989. Funeral Services will be held in the Chapel of Hodges Family Funeral Home at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 4, 2001. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
