BARDEN, Jr., Mack N., 78, a resident of Plant City, passed away Thursday, October 18, 2001. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Barden; four sons, Jack Barden, Jim Barden, Steve Barden and Jim Turner; one daughter, Eva Atkinson; two brothers, Howell Barden and Braxton Barden; two sisters Woody Swanson and Maxie Faulkner and four grandchildren. Funeral services will he held Tuesday, October 23 at 11:00 a.m. from Eastside Baptist Church of Plant City with Rev. Waylon Carlisle officiating. Interment will follow in Hopewell Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to services. In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to the Family Life Center at Eastside Baptist Church, 1318 E. Calhoun Street, Plant city, florida 33566.

Mrs. Foster is survived by her son, Harry Foster and his wife AnnieLee of Irvington, Ala; grandchildren: Allan Foster and his wife Deborah of Littleton, Colo, Charissa, Darren and Evan Foster of Littleton, Colo., Michael Foster of Irvington, Ala., Cheryl Foster Allen and her husband Charles Kenneth of Lutz, Fla; great-grandchildren: Michael `Chad` and Holly Michelle Allen; great-great-grandchildren: Joshua Levi and Chloe Nichole Young of Tampa, Fla. Mrs. Foster was a long time resident of Tampa, Fla and lived in Irvington, Ala for the past 23 years. Graveside services will be held at the Garden of Memories Cemetery on Tuesday, October 23, 2001 at 10:00 a.m.

GUIDO, Carmella, 81 of Tampa passed away October 19, 2001. She is survived by her sons: Danny Guido and his wife Noreida, David Guido and his wife Kathryn; her sisters: Felicia Miceli and Josephine Payne; nieces: Josie and Angela Miceli; and nephew Frank Miceli. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 23, 2001 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. Jr., and Leslie F.`Bunny` Marsicano of Sundance,; one brother, Austin Charles of Sundance,; one sister, Mikayla Renee of Sundance.; maternal grandparents Herman and Nancy Farley of Brandon; paternal grandparents, Charles A. Sr. and Jean G. Marsicano of Holmes Beach and Tampa,; an d numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was a lifelong resident of the Tampa Bay area, and a Christian, He attended Cypress Creek Elementary school, was a Tiger Cub in Cub Scout with pack No. 662. He enjoyed playing soccer and basketball, and his favorite thing was to give of himself to others. The family will receive friends Sunday, October 21, from 3:00 til 5:00 p.m. at the Marsicano Funeral Home, 4040 Henderson Blvd. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, October 22, at 11:00: at the funeral home. ROOKS, Virtus Golden, 85 of Lake Yvette Estates West, Fla., died October 18, 2001. She is survived by two sons, Lynn Rooks and Kelly Rooks, both of Tampa; two daughters, Leucretia Stephens of Lake Yvette Estates, and Marleen Marcos of Tampa; eight grandchildren, Dawn Deshong of Tallahassee, Robin Darden of Bradenton, April Deshong of Tampa, Autumn Fels of Apollo Beach, Rachel Hardy of Tampa, Er in Marcos of Orlando, Keith Marcos of Oviedo, and Tyler Rooks of Tampa; and 23 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Rooks was born in Berrien County, Ga., and had lived in Tifton, Ga. and Tampa before moving to Lake Yvette Estates West in 1990. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Tifton, Ga. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m Monday, October 22, 2001, at Garden of Memories Chapel in Tampa. Interment w ill follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Vicki was preceded in death by her husband Beavon Woodward, step-son; Pete Woodward, step-daughter; Deanne Myer of Tampa. Her survivors include her brother Herbert Lewis and wife Annette of La, daughter Rebecca Woodward Gilkes and husband George of Odessa, Fla., her gra nddaughters; Shannon Rodriguez, Mary Rodriguez, Andrea Rodriguez, Valerie Gilkes of Odessa, Melanie Myer, Marie Myers and husband Jack of Broken Arrow, Okla, three great-grandchildren and niece Debra Sherman of Omaha. Vicki graduated from FSU (FSCW) in 1944 and was one of the 'Fearless Five'. Vicki was a Navy Veteran and a Hillsborough County School teacher. vicki founded and co-owned Camp Keyston e, Happy Traveler RV Park and Hiawatha Day Camp. She will be sadly missed. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel. Rabbi Sydney Hoffman will officiate. The family will have a reception at the funeral home following the service. Those who so desire may make memorial contributions to the Fearless Five Endowed Scholarship Fund at FSU.

WRIGHT, RALPH A., Jr., 70, of Lutz, passed away October 19, 2001. He is survived by Prayat `Gail` Enos; mother, Ann Boerner; stepmother, Murial Wright, son, Ralph L. Wright; daughters, Judy Wright, Janet Tracy and her husband John; wife, Dolly Wright; brothers, Buford and Robert Wright; Ronald Paul and Tim Wright; sisters, Carol and Norma; cousin, Jane Larson; grandchildren Jeffrey, Johnny, Jes se Tracy and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Wright was born in Nankipoo, Tennessee and moved to Tampa from McKees Rock, Pa in the 60's. He served his country in the US Army, worked as a letter carrier for the US Postal Service, and was a member of the Florida Horse Breeders Association. BAUTISTA, MARTA EVANCELIA, 66, of Tampa, passed away October 20, 2001 at herhome surrounded by family and friends. She is survived by her three children, Marta Menendez-Lyons and her husband, Randy Lyons, Luis Menendez, Jr., and his wife, Diane Menendez, and Alicia Menendez-Tenny and her husband, Steve Tenny, six grandchildren, Joshua Lyons, Alicia Menendez, Stephan Lyons, Alec Menendez, Logan Tenny and Conner Tenny, Her mother, Justa Aida Bautista and nephew, Frank Bautista as well as numerous other family members and loved ones. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Born in Artemisa, Cuba, she came to Tampa in 1970 with her family. She was retired after 26 years with St. Joseph's Hospital pharmacy. BROWN, Frederick M., age 78, died at the James A. Haley Veterans Hospital in Tampa on October 20, 2001. He was predeceased by his wife of 54 years, Shirley Galbreath Brown; a brother Horace of Safety Harbor, FL. and a brother Jack of Spring Lake, MI. He is survived by a brother-in-law Maurice Galbreath of Sun City Center, FL.; a sister-in-law Vivian Galbreath Stefaniak of Three Rivers, MI., a s ister-in-law Janet Overhiser Brown of Spring Lake, MI and a number of nieces and nephews. He was proud of his service in the US Navy before, during and after WWII. He surved on the aircraft carrier USS Saratoga CV-3 as a pharmacist mate during the battle for Guadal Canal in the Solomon Islands, the second battle of the Coral Sea and at Naval Hospitals in Hawaii and the Continental US. His lifeswor k after the war was devoted to golf, particularly teaching golf, golf course construction and maintenance. He was superintendent at several golf courses in Michigan, the Bahamas and throughout Florida. He was a life member of the Professional Golfers Assn. and the Golf Course Superintendents Assn. of America. He will be sadly missed by his associates and his extended family. His cremated remains will be interred at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Fl.
