SCHMIDT, Wesley E., Jr., 69, of Dade City, died Tuesday, October 30, 2001. He is survived by his sister, Margaret C. Louder of Dade City; brother-in-law, Robert E. Louder; brother, Robert C. Schmidt of Dade City (Darby); and a cousin, Bruce D. Watson of Boothwyn, Pa. A native of Englewood, N.J, born May 20, 1932, he moved to Dade City in 1980 from Sarasota, Fla. His life was dedicated to the co ntinuing study of The Word of God. An invalid at the age of 19, he was an uncomplaining Saint, who looked for the coming of his Lord, our hope. Wesley's family wish to extend their special thanks to the wonderful staff and volunteers of the Hernando-Pasco Hospice House on Clinton Avenue for their loving care. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are requested to be made to the Hernando-Pasco Hospice, 37441 Clinton Ave., Dade City, FL 33525. Wesley is now `Safe in the arms of Jesus`.

BEIRO, Emilio, 75, of Tampa died Sunday, September 16, 2001 in Guatemala City, Guatemala. He was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Juana Beiro of Tampa; a brother, Guillermo `Bill`, of Tampa; and a sister, Beatriz `Beatrice` Pugni of Tustin, Calif. Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Maria Margarita of Guatemala; an ex-wife Ana Lisa Atlhammer of Germany and a daughter, Elena Bei ro-Atlhammer, last-known of Milwaukee, Wis.; four brothers, Cesar and Manuel, Jr., both of Tampa, Henry of Calera, Alabama and Benny of Banning, Calif.; one sister, Hortensia Lawrence of Crystal Beach, Fla. Born in Ybor City on July 20, 1926, he lived in Tampa for 62 years before moving to Guatemala in 1988. He was a retired postal worker and a lifelong member of the American Postal Workers Union, a merchant marine, served in the U.S. Army in

post-World War II Germany and was a Presbyterian. A service of interment was held in Guatemala.

BESCH, Lillian F., age 80, of Tampa, passed away October 30, 2001. A native and lifelong resident of Tampa, Mrs. Besch is survived by her beloved husband of 56 years, Fred M. Besch; son, Buddy Besch and wife, Pam; daughter, Becky Cacciatore and husband, Richard; grandchildren, Mackenzie, Kaitlyn and Leighton Besch, Jennifer and Betsy Cacciatore; sisters, Josephine Greco, Mary Badia, and Adelfa Urso and many nieces, nephews, cousins and other loving family members. Mrs. Besch was a hairdresser for many years and a member of Christ the King Catholic Church. Graveside Funeral Services will be held on Friday morning at 11 o'clock at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL. Pallbearers include: James and Joe Greco, Roger Badia, Paul Ferlita, Victor Lorenzo and Gil Carreno. In Lieu of Flowers , contributions may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society, 2021 E. CUMMINGS, Charles J., 73, of Lutz, died October 30, 2001, in Lutz. He was preceded in death by his wife, Natalie Cummings. He is survived by his daughter, Nora Cummings and husband, William Martens; son, John Cummings and wife, Denise; sisters, Dorothea Hein and Maureen Cummings; grandsons, Nicholas and Matthew Cummings and Billy Martens. Mr. Cummings was a veteran and served in the U. S. Navy. He was a retired New York City Harbor Patrol policeman. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the New York City Police and Firemen's Widows Fund. A Funeral Mass for the Repose of his Soul will be celebrated Saturday afternoon at one o'clock at the Catholic Church of the Incarnation with Rev. Fr. Noli Lim celebrant. EALES, Loyd G. `Gary`, 76, passed away October 27, 2001, at his home. He is survived by wife, Billie Jean; a sister, Myrna Faye of Okla.; a son, Ray of Tampa; a daughter , Tammy Pritchard of Tampa; two grandchildren, Lee Bradley Pritchard and Casey Holt; and his pet companion, Rosie. He was a decorated veteran of World War II who was wounded in the line of duty. He was employed by Krispy Kreme Donut Company for 36 years. He has touched the lives of many and will forever be in our hearts. A memorial service will be held at Hillsborough United Methodist Church, 9008 Harney Road, Tampa, Fl., on Friday, November 2, 2001, at 7:00 p.m. Chaplain Charles Young will be performing the service. In lieu of flowers, family would like to request donations be made to the Eales family.

FILER, Juanita, 81, of Tampa, Fla., passed away October 19, 2001. She is survived by her daughters, Betty Reed of Tampa and Becky Dooner of Naples, Fla.; three grandchildren and five great-grand children. HISCOCK, C.B. `Bud`, 76, of Lithia, passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2001. He is survived by his wife, Avis; two sons, Don of Sanford, Fla. and Randy of Lithia, Fla.; four daughters, Linda Barnwell, Susan Weeks, Cindy Hardy of Lithia, Fla. and Sanci Skipper of Webster, Fla.; two brothers, Deane Jr of Orange, Mass. and Roland of Casco, Maine; twin sister, Claire Josephson of Houston, Texas ; 13 g rand- children and seven great- grandchildren. He has resided in the Tampa area since 1950 coming from his native, Farmington, Maine. He was a cattle rancher, a U.S. Navy World War II veteran serving in the Pacific Theatre, a member of veterans groups Tampa D.A.V., Lakeland American Legion and Ruskin V.F.W, a member of the Florida Cattlemen's Association, a board member of Ruskin Neighborhood Cann ery and a member of Alafia Baptist Church. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Alafia Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family expresses that contributions be made to one's favorite charity in his memory.

JACKSON, Viola, 96, widow of Horace Jackson, passed away October 30, 2001. She is survived by three daughters, Louise Miller, Lois Gissinger and Marie Artz; predeceased by one son, Cleon Jackson and survived by one son, Eugene Jackson and his wife Mary; daughter-in-law, Joyce; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Born in Ad el, Ga. in 1905, she was a resident of the Tampa Bay area since 1927 and was of the Baptist faith. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the care givers of the Community Convalescent Center in Plant City for their loving care of Viola. Visitation will be November 2, 2001 at 1:00 p.m. with graveside services to follow at 2:00 p.m., with the Rev. John Dorough officiating.

JONES, Stanley Bruce, Lieutenant Colonel, (Retired), 88, of Andrews, N.C., died Sunday, October 28, 2001, in an Andrews hospital. Surviving are a daughter, Darlene Belec Heaton of Andrews; a son, Stanley Bruce Jones Jr. of Saudia Arabia; four grandchildren, Tim Jones, Cheryl Miller, Craig Belec, and Carie Malin; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kimberl y Susan Jones. A native of Port Tampa, Fla., he was the son of the late Charles Bruce and Mannie Chiles Jones and the husband of the late Jo Alyce McReynolds Jones, who died June 15, 1998. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the US Air Force in the Pacific Theatre. He was an Egypt Temple Shriner and member of the Tampa First Baptist Church. Funeral services at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, Novembe r 1, in the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Andrews. Burial in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10-10:45 a.m. Thursday, November 1, at the Ivie Funeral Home in Andrews prior to the services. MCCEARLEY, Andrew, 58 years old, passed away at home after a long illness. He is survived by his loving wife, Sharon, and loving son, Michael; three brothers, Jennings McCurley and wife, Cathy of Woodville, Miss., Mullen McCurley and wife, Pearline of Gloster, Miss. and Doug McCearley and wife, Carrie Lee of Natchez, Miss.; two sisters, Myrtis Carter and husband, Kenneth of Gloster, Miss. and B irdie Kimbriel and husband, W.O. of Gloster, Miss.. Mr. McCearley was a retiree from CSX Railroad after 29 years. We wish to thank LifePath Hospice, with special thanks to Beth Huckaby, Carla Bermudez, and Juliette Barry. He is survived by his mother, Beverly Davis of Land O' Lakes; two sisters, RaeLynn Austin of Tampa, and Mikki Williams of Lutz; two nieces, Tara Austin and Ashley Williams and one nephew, Joseph Austin. He was an avid pool player. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Land O' Lakes. Funer al Services will be held on Friday at 1:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Land O' Lakes. Interment to follow at the Garden of Memories. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Loyless Funeral Home Chapel. NIELSON, Peter Willard, of Sun City Center, passed away October 27, 2001. He is survived by his grandson, Peter B. Heath and his grand- daughter-in-law, Crystal; his great-grandchildren, Alexander and Jennifer and several nieces and nephews. Born to Peter Miller Nielson and Mary Schneider Nielson on February 15, 1905. Nielson was educated in the Simsbury, Conn. public schools and married Alice Spalding Brown on June 25, 1931. Peter and Alice lived in Simsbury, Conn. until 1978. Peter Nielson was employed at Hall Brothers, Inc. from 1922 to 1942. He then became a foreman at the central store of the Ensign-Bickford Company (1942-1947) and advanced to Manager of Purchasing (1947-1970). After retirement from Ensign-Bickford, he was employed by the town of Simsbury as Assistant to the Recrea tion Director. Nielson became associated with the Boys Scouts in 1917 and served as scoutmaster and troop committee man for over 25 years. During his service scouting, he was instrumental in having the `Old Town Hall` turned over to the Simsbury Boys Scouts as their meeting place. He also served on the board of the Simsbury Fire Department Commission and was a member of St. Mark's Lodge #36. An ac tive news photographer, he provided his talent to the Farmington Valley Herald in Simsbury, Conn. and the Sun City Center Chronicle, The Sun, The Shopper and Observer News in Florida. He also photographed many notables at the Greater Hartford Open Golf Tournament. Peter Nielson was a member of the Simsbury Methodist/Episcopal Church and an Associate Member of United Community Church in Sun City Center.

Nielson was a life member in the Simsbury Rotary Club.
