PEREZ, Hilda W., MD., 83, of Micanopy, died October 26, 2001. She is survived by brothers, Manuel and Esther Perez, Jose and Hilda Perez, Jorge and Mirrella Perez; sisters, Juana Perez, Martha and Luis Medel, Irmina White, Rosa and Joe Baccarella and four grandchildren, Francesca, Alaina, Caitlan and Tessa Crespo. Dr. Perez was preceded in death by her son, Francisco Crespo. She was a Surgeon/F amily Physician in Tampa. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 2, 2001 at Roberts Downtown Chapel, Ocala with Fr. Pedro Zapata of Blessed Trinity Catholic Church officiating and Saturday, November 3, 2001 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Tampa with Fr. Felix Sanchez officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories, Tampa. Arrangements being made by Roberts Funeral Home, Ocala (352) 622-4141 .

PLANAS, Zoila `Gran Ma`, 82, of Tampa, passed away Monday, October 29, 2001 at St. Joseph's Hospital. She is survived by her husband, Alberto Planas; sons, Juan Alberto Planas and wife Adela; Tony Planas and wife Ana Maria of Los Angeles, Calif.; Eduardo Planas and wife Arleen of Roseville, Calif.; daughter, Maria Teresa Estrada and husband Roger; brothers, Francisco Gomez Montes and Wardo Mont es of Miami, Fla.; sister, Ortencia Montes of Mission Viejo, Calif.; grandchildren, Roger Estrada and wife Jaime; John Planas and wife Rachelle; Michael, Kenny, Chris, Kristy-Anne, Brian, Melissa and Adam Planas, and Niki Estrada. Mrs. Planas was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church and the Senior Citizens Group at St. Lawrence. While in Cuba she was a Kindergarden Teacher. A Catholic Funeral Mass for the repose of her soul will be held at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 5225 Himes Ave. N., with Monsignor Laurence Higgins Celebrant, Saturday, November 3, 2001 at 11:00 a.m., Friends and Family are requested to meet at Church. STEFFENS, William Michael, 73 of Tampa passed away Wednesday, October 31, 2001. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Jane K. Steffens of Tampa; his children, Janelle Wick of Ft. Collins, Colo., W. Michael Steffens of Longmont, Colo., Theresa Harris of Brighton, Mich., Joseph Steffens of Land O' Lakes, Nora Getchell of Lutz, John Steffens of Jacksonville, Fla.; twelve grandchildren; and many loving relatives. He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and an active member of A.A. Services will be held 11:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul Catholic Church. The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

TIMMERMAN, J. B., 81, of Tampa, died October 28, 2001 in Tampa. He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Jean Timmerman. Survivors include his daughter, Darcey D. Carson and husband, Jace; granddaughters, Darcel Wall and Rachelle Simonof and husband, John; great-grandchildren, Laban Wall and Mandelon Simonof. Mr. Timmerman was born in Tampa on July 26, 1920. He graduated from Plant Hig h School and attended G.M.C. on a football scholarship. He graduated from University of Tampa in 1948 where he was also a dance instructor. He became a professional dancer and won numerous awards and contests during the Big Band era. He served in the U.S. Navy as a Store Keeper First Class V-6 during World War II in the South West Pacific Theater. He participated in 14 invasions. He became a sales agent with Thornton Sales Service and was with the corporation for 42 years. He retired as chairman of the board in 1990. He was known throughout the company as `Mr. Humor`. He was an envoy of Beta Sigma Phi Chapter Lambda Master. Mr. Timmerman was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church in Wellswood where he lived for 51 years. Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to Life Path Hospice, 3010 W. Azeele St. Tampa, FL. 33609 or St. John's U. M. Church Memorial Fund, 5120 Mendenhall Dr., Tampa, FL. 33603. Funeral services will be held Saturday morning eleven o'clock at St. John's U.M. Church. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery. The Family will receive friends Friday from 6-9:00 p.m. with military services at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home chapel and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. at the Church.

WARE, Gerda Marie, 80, of Brandon passed away Monday, October 29, 2001. She is survived by her daughters, Linda Santucci and her husband, Dan, and Cheryl Cummerow. She has resided in the Tampa area since 1945 coming from Chicago, Ill. She was a bookkeeper with Brandon Printing for 18 years, a member of the Brandon Women's Club, a member of the Brandon League of Fine Arts, a member of the Hospit al Auxiliary Unit for Brandon Hospital and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Brandon, where she was in the Senior Choir. A Memorial service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church of Brandon. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to your favorite charity.

WHITE, Mr. Charles Vern, 47, died early Tuesday, October 30, 2001, morning at his residence following an extended illness. The survivors include his wife, Debbie White of Hoboken; three daughters, Wendy White (husband Jake) of Tampa, Fla., Haley Dowling and Heather Dowling both of Hoboken; two grandchildren, Heaven Sturn and Skylaa Sturn; his parents, Joyce Treece of Scottsboro, Ala., Gene Whit e (wife Beverly) of Tampa, Fla.; a sister, Ruth Garelis of Honduras; two brothers, John Walls of Ypsilanti, Michigan, Buddy White of Alabama. He was a native of Grand Rapids, Michigan but had resided in Hoboken since January. He was manager of Southern Floor Systems. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Friday in the Music Funeral Home Chapel, 1503 Tebeau St., Waycross, Ga. Memorialization will be by cremation.

WHITE, Patsy Lee, 54, of Land O' Lakes passed away Saturday, October 20, 2001, at her home. She is survived by one sister, Barbara Knight of Indianapolis, Ind. She was born in Indianapolis, Ind. and moved to Land O' Lakes in 1973. She retired from the Pasco County School System. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Land O' Lakes. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2001, at 4:00 p.m. at the Loyless Funeral Home Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made, in her memory, to the charity of your choice or to the Special Olympics.

YATES, Thelma Debra, 78, a lifelong resident of Tampa, passed away on October 29, 2001 at University Community Hospital. She is survived by daughter, Janet Frisco; son, Ron Breijo; two sisters, Carmen Fernandez and Ida Suarez; and four grandchildren, Connie Breijo, Krista Breijo, Sarah Byrd and Danny Breijo. Mrs. Yates was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald Yates. In lieu of flowe rs donations may be made to the American Lung Association. Funeral Services will be held this morning at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home chapel, with Interment at Rose Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will include: Joe Fernandez, Kenny Fernandez, Michael Fonseca, Bob Suarez, Anthony Frisco and Ken Coleman.

PANGMAN, Joan M. 70 years old, of Zephyrhills, died October 30, 2001. She is survived by four sons, Jerry and wife, Debbie, Dan, Steve and wife, Carol, Brian and wife, Lynn; one daughter, Sharon and husband, James; one sister, Nancy and husband, Mike; one brother, Robert and wife, Diane; a sister-in-law, Erika and nine grandchildren. Joan was born in Detroit and had been a long time resident of Zephyrhills. She will be laid to rest on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in the Richey Chapel of Coleman & Ferguson F.H. HICKS, Marilyn W., 81, of Plant City, passed away after a brief illness due to congestive heart failure with her loving family at home by her bedside. Preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd M. Hicks Jr. in 1992, she is survived by her loving family: her three daughters, Jo Ellen Hicks Falany and husband, Curtis, of Plant City, Margaret Estelle `Peggy` Hicks LaFontaine and her husband, Paul, an d Barbara Meda Hicks and husband, John Hartley, both families from Moab, Utah; a sister, Elaine Williams McDonald and husband, Fred, of Deltona, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Lorraine (Mrs. Johnny) Williams, of Malone, Fla. and two granddaughters, Sylvalyn Falany and Mara Elise LaFontaine. Born in Malone, Fla. the award winning artist and former art gallery owner, was a 4th Generation Florida Pioneer fam ily member and a local resident since 1988 when she moved from Homestead, Fla. where she had lived for 30 years. She was a member of the 1st Baptist Church in Plant City, of the United Daughters of the Confederacy (UDC), of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), of the Plant City Woman's Club and the East Hillsborough Art Guild. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday morn ing, November 3, 2001 at the Wells Memorial Funeral Home with Dr. Ron Churchill, to officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening, November 2, 2001 from 6:30 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. Flowers are accepted or, those who wish, may make a donation to the American Cancer Society, 407 North Parsons Avenue, Suite 103B, Brandon, FL. 33510 or the Tampa Bay Children's Choirs, 407 Biltmore Avenue, Tampa, FL. 33617 in memory of Marilyn W.
