TATUM, Robert L., `Jr`, 73, son of Ann Summerall and Robert L. Tatum Sr. of Plant City, Florida, passed away on Tuesday, November 13, 2001. Survivors include his wife, Irma G. Tatum of Plant City; two sons, Robert Leon Tatum and Randel Wayne Tatum, both of Plant City; one step-son, Anthony Szabo of Indiana ; two step-daughters, Monica Bright of Arizona and Nadine Hardin of Florida; four grandchi ldren and three great-grandchildren. Mr. Tatum was an Army veteran of World War II in Germany, receiving an occupation medal for his services. The family will receive friends on Friday, November 16, 2001 from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Graveside services will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Pleasant Grove Cemetery.

VAN FLEET, Alva A., 90, died November 13, 2001. He leaves to carry on his example a son, Dr. Alanson A. Van Fleet of Maryville, Tenn.; daughters, M. Jeanne Whitehurst of Tampa and Lee F. Page of Dunedin; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and many other beloved family and friends. Born in Fleetville, Pa. in 1910, Al came to Fla. in 1932 to attend Tampa University. He was an acclaimed commercial artist and the creator of Tampa's famed Christmas Card Lane, as well as numerous displays throughout the area. He was a retired teacher of commercial art, drafting and blueprint reading at Brewster and Erwin Vo Techs. He was married to his beloved Jessie Mae for nearly 63 years. He was a Lay Pastor and bible teacher at Oak Grove United Methodist Church, member of the Tampa Orchid Club, and served on the boards of several charitable organizations. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon at the Oak Grove United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Jack C. Kelley, officiating. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Thomas of St. Petersburg; six sisters, Marion Bennett, Rachel Thompkins, Ruthie Miller and Barbara Jenkins all of Pompano Beach, Fla., Clara Murray of Miami, Fla. and Elizabeth Johnson of Deerfield Beach, Fla. Ms. Williams was a na tive of Jacksonville, Fla. She came to St. Petersburg more than 42 years ago from Pompano Beach, Fla. Her religious preference was Pentacostal and she was a member of Queen St. Church of God In Christ.

Gibbons; and brother, William V. Pascua. Mrs. Zygmont is survived by her step-children, Joseph F. Zygmont, Jr., Hedy Sarofin and David Zygmont; and seven nieces and nephews, Barbara V. Wolfe of Pinehurst, N.C. , Frederick Van Vranken of Jericho, N.Y., A. William Gibbons and John B. Gibbons, both of Tampa, M. Gordon Gibbons of Morrow, Ga., Rev. Robert C. Gibbons of St. Petersburg, and Madeleine G. Blankenship of Nashville, Tenn. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., Mrs. Zygmont moved to Homosassa from Connecticut in 1985, then to St. Petersburg in 1994. Of the Catholic faith, she was a graduate of Maplehurst Academy of the Sacred Heart, New York City; and she served in the WAVES (U.S. Navy) during World War II. She was a retired secretary for the state government. A Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 17, 2001, at Our Lady of Grace, Beverly Hills, Fla. Burial to follow in Fero Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Survived by his wife, Doris Rainville of Zephyrhills; three daughters Terri Nelson of Jackson, Miss., Mitzi and Doug Watkins of Waterfall, Pa., Nancy and John Luallen of Anniston, Ala.; eight grand- children, Robert Jewel, Jeremy, Cobb, Richard Watkins, Daniel Jewel, Holly Watkins, Timothy Watkins, Michael Jewel, and Joel Bl anks; a sister, Mona Shahan of Colebrook, N.H.; and three cousins, Barbara Reynolds, Pricilla and Bruce Moore and Norma Roberts all of Lancaster, N.H. A Funeral Service will be held 5:00 p.m. Friday, November 16, at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Odom officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service Friday from 4-5:00 p.m. at the church. Mr. Rainville was a veteran of th e Air Force serving in the Korean Conflict, he was the owner/ operator of a trucking company, a member of the First Baptist Church of Zephyrhills, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the American Legion in New York. He was born June 7, 1929 in Colebrook, N.H. and came to this area seven years ago from Romulus, N.Y.

A native of Nebraska, he moved to this area in 1992 from Houghton Lake, Mich. He was a member and past President of the Beaverton, Mich. Lions Clu b, and was a member of the Elks Lodge, Eagles Club and VFW. Funeral Services will be held in the Chapel of Hodges Family Funeral Home on Saturday, November 17, 2001 at 4:00 p.m. with Pastor Chris Christopherson officiating. Burial will be at Florida National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3-5:00 p.m. on Friday afternoon at the funeral home and again one hour prior to the service on Saturday.

She was a secretary for many years at St. Peter Parish in Kirkwood, Mo. and Louis Antoine Associates in St. Louis, Mo. She moved to Tavares fifteen years ago from Kirkwood, Mo. A Memorial Mass will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 30, 2001 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Mount Dora, Florida. BAKER, Rose H., (Burgert), 87, of Tampa, passed away Tuesday, November 13, 2001. She is survived by two nephews; a niece and friend, Alta Surrency. Mrs. Baker was a native of Tampa and had worked in a local cigar factory for years. She was a member of Central Avenue Baptist Church. Graveside services will be held Friday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Tampa. Rev. H. Wayne Crow will officiate.

She is survived by her husband, Wayne; daughter, Geneva and Christen Burden; mother, Juana M. de Luna; brothers, Abel, Sergio and Mario Luna; and sister, Elizabeth. She has resided in the Tampa area for 2 1/2 years coming from her native, Republic of Panama. Mayra was a Spanish and Latin teacher for the last two years at B loomingdale High School, a licensed teacher in Florida and Virginia, a member of the National Education Association and the Florida Education Association, and attended the Brandon Assembly of God. She was highly respected and loved by her family, friends and students. Funeral services will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the Stowers Brandon Chapel. The family will receive friends this evening (Friday) from 6:00 til 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

EDMONDSON, Frank Marion, 83, of Tampa, passed away November 14, 2001. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Doris Patch Edmondson son, Frank Jr. of Houston, Texas ; two daughters, Judy Dee Thompson of Treasure Island and Beverly Jean Smith of Longwood; seven grand- children and two great-grand- children. He was a retired officer from the U.S. Army and the City of Tampa Fire Department. He was a charter member and deacon of the former Riverside Baptist Church where he served as business administrator for many years. Frank was recently an active member of Carroll- wood Baptist Church. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 17 at 2:00 p.m. at Carrollwood Baptist Church, at 5395 Ehrlich Road. FOX, Allan L., age 61, of Tampa passed away, Thursday, November 15, 2001. Survivors include his beloved wife of 38 years, Ronna; mother, Lillian Fox of Plantation, Fla.; son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Sharon Fox, Tampa; daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Dale Denney of Mesquite, Texas ; sister, Penny Schwartz, Ft. Lee, N.J.; and grandchildren, Brenden Crampton, Taylor Crampton, Justin Fox, Emily Denney and Jordan Fox. Mr. Fox was born in Brooklyn, New York and came to Tampa 25 years ago from Valdosta, Ga. He was a retired Lieutenant Colonel from the U.S. Air Force where he had been a pilot and had served for 22 years. He was an active participant in numerous civic and religious organizations including Congregation Kol Ami and was the immediate past president of the Chessed Shel Eme s. Graveside services will be held today, (Friday), 1:30 p.m. at Gan Shalom Cemetery (located on County Line Rd. just east of Livingston) with Rabbi Joel Wasser officiating. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to Congregation Kol Ami or Hillel School C/O Allan Fox Endowment Fund or the charity of ones choice.

HANCOCK, Lawrence R. `Buddy`, 78, of Riverview, a true pioneer of the Florida spirit, passed away Monday, November 12, 2001 at his home. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Betty; son, Keith S. Hancock of Brandon; daughter, Sandra K. Rossiter of Riverview; brother, Edwin E. Hancock of Mango; and two grandchildren, Rhea and Daniel Rossiter. Buddy was a charter member of the Riverview Chamber of Commerce and a charter member of the American Legion Alafia Post No. 148. He was affiliated with the Riverview United Methodist Church for many years. A man who accomplished much and who kept it to himself. Buddy was a mentor to many of the youth of the community. He was a wonderful storyteller and a friend to most everyone he knew. He was a World War II veteran in the Pacific and honored with raising the victory flag on Corrigador when General MacArthur made his promised return to the Philippines. The president of the Philippines honored him in 1995 for his contributions to the liberation of the Philippines, along with his fellow freedom fighters of the 503rd parachute infantry that so valiantly fought in this battle. Buddy dedicated himself to the community of Riverview, and was inst rumental in bringing a library, bank and other businesses to the community. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Betty and a generous, loving father to his children and grandchildren. May his good and decent life be an inspiration to others. We will cherish his memory forever. Funeral services will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Monday at the Riverview United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. James M. Morg an officiating. Interment to follow at Hackney Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 3:00 til 5:00 p.m. at the Stowers Riverview Chapel. Flowers will be be gratefully accepted or those who wish may make contributions to the Riverview United Methodist Church in his memory.

JONES, Marshall `Casey`, 89, of Lake Panasoffkee, Fla., died November 14, 2001. He is survived by two sons, Marshall `Chip` Jones of Tampa and Richard G. Jones of Danville, Va.; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Ann Roffield of Adrian, Ga., and Cornelia King of Galax, Va. Mr. Jones was a Baptist and a veteran of the U.S. Army in World War II. He retired from R.C. Co la after 25 years of service as a route man/ supervisor. LYONS, Clarence Doyle, 76, a resident of Lake Wales, passed away November 14, 2001. He is survived by his wife, Mary C. Lyons; daughter, Linda Bradford and her husband, Gary of Charlotte, North Carolina; and two grandchildren, Gavin Moss and Terek Moss both of Highpoint, N.C. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, a member of Desoto Masonic Lodge #105 F.&A.M. in Riverview and a member of Crossr oads Baptist Church of Lithia. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 17, 2001 at 10:00 a.m. from Hopewell Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Carl Hemphill officiating. Interment will follow in Hillsboro Memorial Gardens.
