GERHART, Margaret, 98, of Dade City, died November 25, 2001 at The Edwinola. She is survived by a brother; and a cousin, Ruth Thiebout of Winter Haven. Fla. She was born in Grand Rapids, Mich., and moved to the area thirty years ago from Lowell, Mich., She was a homemaker. Kelly Memorial Funeral Home.

PRATT, Harold A., 89 of Zephyrhills, passed away Wednesday, November 28, 2001, at East Pasco Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He is survived by his two sons, Dennis of Warwick, R.I., and Gregory of Hilton Head, S.C.; xis grandchildren, Jonathon and Stephen Pratt of Rhode Island, Melissa Myers of Richmond Hills, Ga., Jennifer Angus of Beaufort, S.C., and Brian Pratt of Las Vegas, Nev., as well as 12 great-grandchildren. A native of Martin, Mich., he came to this area 10 years ago from Norwalk, Calif. Harold was the founder of Pratts Music Studio in Hanover, Pa., former member of the music group `The Hawaiian Sharps`, and had been a salesman and repairman of musical instruments for Herbert Music Company in Charleston, W.Va. and Bob Pratts Music Store in Norwalk, Calif., and had been a former member and past president of the Lion's Club in Hanover, Pa. Harold will be inurned at St. Albans, W.Va., in Cunningham Memorial Park at a later date.

Barfield, Jr and his wife Chris; grandchildren Kristy, Kelly and Kevin Barfield all of Tampa as well as nephews Albert and Guy Thompson and niece Sara Ann Thompson all of Montgomery, Ala. Funeral services wil l be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m. at the Mark III Funeral Home South Tampa Chapel with Dr. Preston Bailey of Manhattan Baptist Church officiating. BASO, Jesus C. `Chuco` Sr., age 79, of Tampa died Wednesday, November 28, 2001. Mr. Baso was born in Key West and came to Tampa in 1988 from Ocala. He was a U.S. Navy veteran having served during World War II, a member of the American Legion of Tampa and was a devout member since 1988 and former chairman of the board of directors for the Cathedral of Jesus of the Nazarene Church. Survivors incl ude his beloved wife of 25 years, Felisa; son, Jesus C. Baso Jr., of Miami; daughter, Patricia M. Dixon of Key West; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. A funeral Mass will be held Sunday, 11:00 a.m. at the Cathedral of Jesus of the Nazarene Church, 14322 North Boulevard, Tampa. Bishop Eugenio Loreto will officiate. The family will receive friends prior to the Mass from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. and then will receive friends following the Mass until 5:00 p.m. at the church. Interment will be held at Key West City Cemetery on Tuesday.

CONNELL, Veda E., 88, of Brooksville passed away November 30, 2001. She was born in Venus, Fla. She is survived by her sons, Marvin and Melvin; daughter, Linda Brooks; brother, Carl D, Holland; sisters, Nora Lee Toney and Judy M. Gordon; 12 grandchildren 30 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 3:00 p.m. at Providence Cemetery wit h Rev. James Brown, associate pastor of Balm Baptist Church. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2-3:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Cox, III and his wife Nancy and their children Nicole and George, Jeffrey P. Cox and his wife Hether and their child Morgan; great-grand child, Grace. She was Presbyterian by faith and was an English Major at Westminster College, a member of the Beta Sigma Phi, Dana Shores Women's Club, ABWA. DOSS, Edris M., 88, of Dade City, passed away November 28, 2001. She is survived by two sons, Andre and Cecil Drake; sister, Justine Jackson; grandson, Michael Drake; and two granddaughters, Andrea Pruitt and Kendra Drake. Ms. Doss was an accountant for the Hillsborough County Public School System and a data processor at the Hillsborough County Courthouse. She was also the Valedictorian for Hil lsborough High School in 1931 and taught 15 years for the Gospel Assembly of Dade City. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 3, 2001 at 2:00 p.m. at the Garden of Memories Chapel, 4207 E. Lake Avenue, with Pastor Janice Yarbrough, Happy Hill Christian Assembly of Dade City, officiating. Interment will follow in Myrtle Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Monday one hour prior to service.

He was a native of Berrien Co., Ga., had resided here 45 years, and was a retired supervisor for the City of Tampa Waste Water Dept. He was preceded in death by his sister, Ethel Hart and is survived by his wife, Barbara; son, Jeff Fender, Seffner; two daughters, Christine Woodward, Dowelltown, Tenn. and Candace F ender, Tampa; six brothers, Willis Fender, Mango, Lloyd Fender, Lenox, Ga., Elwood Fender, Brandon, Donald Fender, Tampa, James Fender, Omega, Ga. and Julian Fender, Brandon; two sisters, Inez Gandy, Tampa and Carolyn Sumner, Omega, Ga.; four grandchildren, Jeff Fender, Ryan and Zachary Woodward and Evelyn Bisbal and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Monday at the chapel of Serenity Meadows Funeral Home, 6919 Providence Rd. There will be no visitation. KNOX, C. Clair, 95, born November 24, 1906, died November 28, 2001. Although operations had been turned over to others, he was still Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of two family-owned corporations. Knox Farms Inc. in general farming, owner of cattle and land in Iowa, and Knox Enterprises Inc., a holding company with investments in real estate, farming and past owner of Knox Associates, a management consulting company with offices in California, Texas , Illinois, Ohio and New Jersey. Clair Knox graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in Commerce in 1930, having earned all college expenses by selling and organizing for Real Silk Inc., a major publicly held company that manufactured and sold a line of wearing apparel for men and women. Upon graduation, he was placed in charge of all colleges and universities from Dartmouth to the University of Florida and west to Ohio State University. For three years his job was to recruit, train and develop students for management positions upon graduation. During the next 22 years, Clair Knox was recognized for his leadership on all field assignments including head of the National Sales Organization, Vice President of Merchandise and sales and Director of the corporation. In 1952 Real Silk was one of the leading direct selling companies in the nation with 250 branch offices, three manufacturing plants and several thousand sales representatives. Knox was a major shareholder. September 15, 1952 he resigned from Real Silk Inc. to accept the Presidency of Rex Air Inc. with stock option and understanding he plan ned to resign upon developing his successor. This was accomplished as of December 31, 1954. In 1955 a long-time goal was reached to have his own business consulting firm, Knox Associates Inc. Clair Knox made many contributions to marketing and general management and was internationally recognized as the leading authority on Direct to Consumers Marketing. Throughout his business career, he lectured extensively to students and business organizations and wrote articles on sales, sales management and marketing. In June of 1950, he was featured in Fortune Magazine as one of thirteen outstanding sales executives of the nation. In 1954 Mr. Knox represented the Direct Selling Industry as a member of the Enterprise Team sponsored by the State Department that lectured on Free Enterprise and exchange d ideas with several thousand business executives in 11 European countries. From 1955 through 1985 Clair Knox and his organization consulted with many corporations on their business throughout the United States, Europe, New Zealand, Australia, Hong Kong, Japan, Mexico, South America, Puerto Rico, Jamaica and West Indies. Clair Knox served as President of the Direct Selling Association which was co mprised of over 100 companies and their several million sales people and Chairman of the Board of Sales and Marketing Executives International which at that time had 28,000 members. In 1968 he was elected to the Direct Selling Hall of Fame-the highest honor bestowed on a person in the direct selling industry. He was an Honorary Lifetime Member of the Direct Selling Association, an Honorary Lifetim e Member of Sales Executives International, a Lifetime Member of the University Alumni, a member of the Presidents Club of the University of Iowa and St. John's Episcopal Church in Naples. Clair and Mrs. Knox, the former Agnes Butler, a 1930 University of Iowa graduate, spent over 35 years plus between their home in Naples, Florida and those in Delta and Sigourney, Iowa. During the past forty year s, personal acquaintances with Dr. Norman Vincent Peale and Dr. Robert Schuller, attending their small churches, reading their books, listening to their personal messages delivered in business meetings and via television greatly influenced his spiritual and business life. Preceding him in death were his mother, father, brother James, daughter Donna, and wife, Agnes. Surviving are sister, Floren Sh ultz of Oskaloosa, Iowa; grandsons, Myers Fitkin and wife, Ruth, daughter, Oleana and son, Cody of Clermont, Florida, daughter, Danielle of Orlando, Florida and Randall Fitkin, wife Lisa and two daughters, Ali and Carly of Brandon, Florida. A private family service will be held on Monday, December 3, 2001, at SERENITY MEADOWS FUNERAL HOME. A memorial service honoring Clair Knox will be held in the Spring of 2002 at Garrett Cemetery in Delta, Iowa.

LATHAM, Robert L., 72, of Tampa, died November 25, 2001. He is survived by daughters, Debra Latham Margaret Smith Esparza of Tampa, Tabatha Mahoney of Tampa and Linda Pizzarella of Washington ; son, Robert Latham of Hernado Beach, Fla.; sisters, Ruth Dumas of of Northboro, Mass. and June Stephens of Worcester, Mass. and six grandchildren. Mr. Latham came to this area in 1970 from England and was a retired onwer/operator of residential construction. He was veteran of the US Air Force and a Protestant by faith.

A native of Fairbanks, Alaska, Greg had resided here for five years coming from Tucson, Ariz. and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He is survived by his parents, Steve and Marie McDonald; sisters, April Wietrecki and Christine McDonald, all of Riverview; maternal grandparents, Mae and Don Holley and pater nal grandmother, Maryellen Spring, all of Pensacola, Fla.; and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Tampa. Interment will follow at Serenity Meadows Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home, 6919 Providence Rd.

McKEON, Scott Tyson, born June 12, 1941 in Grand Rapids, Mich., died November 22, 2001 in Tampa. Survived by wife, Deanna McKeon, Ruskin; brother, Robert McKeon and sister-in-law, Margo, Phoenix; children, Sean and Jenna of Safety Harbor; step-daughters, Shari, Ellen and Stacey and eight grandchildren. He was a gifted man, as both a magician for over 40 years, and as a musician. He touched the lives of many along his journey. We love you and miss you. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, December 8, 2001 at 1:30 p.m. at Wellswood Baptist Church, 5101 N. Rome Ave., Tampa.

PARHAM, Judge Harry C., 81 of Bradenton, passed away November 18, 2001 at Blake Medical, Bradenton. Judge Parham is survived by his wife, Martha Parham of Bradenton; four daughters, Susan Dambrell of Lake Placid, Patricia Hamilton of Ellenton, Cynthia Parham of Bradenton, and Pamela Sullins of Tampa; one sister, Wini Ekman of Tampa; one brother, James S. Parham of Port Richey; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Born August 31, 1920 in Columbus, Ga., he moved to Manatee County in 1947 from Tampa. A U.S. Army World War II veteran, he was a charter member of Trinity United Methodist Church, and a retired minister of the United Methodist Churches of the Florida Conference. Judge Parham retired in 1985 after 15 years as a Circuit Judge. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a .m. Saturday, December 1, 2001, at Trinity United Methodist Church, with Rev. John Gatewood and Dr. Jiles Kirkland officiating. Burial will be in Manasota Memorial Park, Bradenton. SCHOENIG, Frank J., passed away in Jacksonville, Fla. on November 29, 2001. He was 53 years of age. Frank was a veteran and optician who co-owned Pearle Vision Express in Lakeland prior to his retirement. He is survived by his wife, Brenda of Jacksonville; two sons, Ty and Tim of North Carolina; brother, Matthew of Lakeland; sister, Michele Adams of Tampa, sister, Katie Nodland Pope of Valrico and several grandchildren.
