PRATT, Harold A., 89 of Zephyrhills, passed away Wednesday, November 28, 2001, at East Pasco Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He is survived by his two sons, Dennis of Warwick, R.I., and Gregory of Hilton Head, S.C.; xis grandchildren, Jonathon and Stephen Pratt of Rhode Island, Melissa Myers of Richmond Hills, Ga., Jennifer Angus of Beaufort, S.C., and Brian Pratt of Las Vegas, Nev., as well as 12 great-grandchildren. A native of Martin, Mich., he came to this area 10 years ago from Norwalk, Calif. Harold was the founder of Pratts Music Studio in Hanover, Pa., former member of the music group `The Hawaiian Sharps`, and had been a salesman and repairman of musical instruments for Herbert Music Company in Charleston, W.Va. and Bob Pratts Music Store in Norwalk, Calif., and had been a former member and past president of the Lion's Club in Hanover, Pa. Harold will be inurned at St. Albans, W.Va., in Cunningham Memorial Park at a later date.

BASO, Jesus C. `Chuco` Sr., age 79, of Tampa died Wednesday, November 28, 2001. Mr. Baso was born in Key West and came to Tampa in 1988 from Ocala. He was a U.S. Navy veteran having served during World War II, a member of the American Legion of Tampa and was a devout member since 1988 and former chairman of the board of directors for the Cathedral of Jesus of the Nazarene Church. Survivors incl ude his beloved wife of 25 years, Felisa; son, Jesus C. Baso Jr., of Miami; daughter, Patricia M. Dixon of Key West; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. A funeral Mass will be held Sunday, 11:00 a.m. at the Cathedral of Jesus of the Nazarene Church, 14322 North Boulevard, Tampa. Bishop Eugenio Loreto will officiate. KNOX, C. Clair, 95, born November 24, 1906, died November 28, 2001. Although operations had been turned over to others, he was still Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of two family-owned corporations. Knox Farms Inc. in general farming, owner of cattle and land in Iowa, and Knox Enterprises Inc., a holding company with investments in real estate, farming and past owner of Knox Associates, a management consulting company with offices in California, Texas , Illinois, Ohio and New Jersey. Clair Knox graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in Commerce in 1930, having earned all college expenses by selling and organizing for Real Silk Inc., a major publicly held company that manufactured and sold a line of wearing apparel for men and women. Upon graduation, he was placed in charge of all colleges and universities from Dartmouth to the University of Florida and west to Ohio State University. For three years his job was to recruit, train and develop students for management positions upon graduation. During the next 22 years, Clair Knox was recognized for his leadership on all field assignments including head of the National Sales Organization, Vice President of Merchandise and sales and Director of the corporation. In 1952 Real Silk was one of the leading direct selling companies in the nation with 250 branch offices, three manufacturing plants and several thousand sales representatives. Knox was a major shareholder. September 15, 1952 he resigned from Real Silk Inc. to accept the Presidency of Rex Air Inc. with stock option and understanding he plan ned to resign upon developing his successor. This was accomplished as of December 31, 1954. In 1955 a long-time goal was reached to have his own business consulting firm, Knox Associates Inc. Clair Knox made many contributions to marketing and general management and was internationally recognized as the leading authority on Direct to Consumers Marketing. Throughout his business career, he lectured extensively to students and business organizations and wrote articles on sales, sales management and marketing. In June of 1950, he was featured in Fortune Magazine as one of thirteen outstanding sales executives of the nation. In 1954 Mr. Knox represented the Direct Selling Industry as a member of the Enterprise Team sponsored by the State Department that lectured on Free Enterprise and exchange d ideas with several thousand business executives in 11 European countries. From 1955 through 1985 Clair Knox and his organization consulted with many corporations on their business throughout the United States, Europe, New Zealand, Australia, Hong Kong, Japan, Mexico, South America, Puerto Rico, Jamaica and West Indies. Clair Knox served as President of the Direct Selling Association which was co mprised of over 100 companies and their several million sales people and Chairman of the Board of Sales and Marketing Executives International which at that time had 28,000 members. In 1968 he was elected to the Direct Selling Hall of Fame-the highest honor bestowed on a person in the direct selling industry. He was an Honorary Lifetime Member of the Direct Selling Association, an Honorary Lifetim e Member of Sales Executives International, a Lifetime Member of the University Alumni, a member of the Presidents Club of the University of Iowa and St. John's Episcopal Church in Naples. Clair and Mrs. Knox, the former Agnes Butler, a 1930 University of Iowa graduate, spent over 35 years plus between their home in Naples, Florida and those in Delta and Sigourney, Iowa. During the past forty year s, personal acquaintances with Dr. Norman Vincent Peale and Dr. Robert Schuller, attending their small churches, reading their books, listening to their personal messages delivered in business meetings and via television greatly influenced his spiritual and business life. Preceding him in death were his mother, father, brother James, daughter Donna, and wife, Agnes. Surviving are sister, Floren Sh ultz of Oskaloosa, Iowa; grandsons, Myers Fitkin and wife, Ruth, daughter, Oleana and son, Cody of Clermont, Florida, daughter, Danielle of Orlando, Florida and Randall Fitkin, wife Lisa and two daughters, Ali and Carly of Brandon, Florida. A private family service will be held on Monday, December 3, 2001, at SERENITY MEADOWS FUNERAL HOME. A memorial service honoring Clair Knox will be held in the Spring of 2002 at Garrett Cemetery
