OLIVA, Estela `Meca`, age 88, a native and lifelong resident of Tampa, passed away peacefully and surrounded by family at her home on Dec. 7, 2001. She was a devoted spouse and companion to her late husband, Angel Oliva, Sr. for 64 years. Beloved, she was a super mom, grandmom, and great-grandmom to two sons, six grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. She also served as mother to a number of nieces and nephews that lived with her for intervals ranging from six months to nine years. A totally selfless person, Meca opened her home to countless Cuban refugees. She found schools for their children and dedicated herself to helping them adjust to their new home. She was a profoundly loved and generous person. A strong supporter of Villa Madonna School, The Children's Home, The Boys and Girls Clubs, Mary Help of Christians, Villa la Paz, and The University of Tampa. We will miss her. She is survived by two sons, Angel Oliva, Jr. and wife Francey, and John E. Oliva and wife Lydia; six grandchildren, Islee S. Oliva of London, England, Tania T. Oliva of Dallas, Texas , John E. Mrs. Raulerson was a L.P.N. and was on the nursing staff of Tampa General Hospital for 32 years and was of the Catholic faith. She was preceeded in death by her beloved husband, Doyle Raulerson.
