ALLEN, Edward, 86, of Tampa passed away March 14, 2002. Survivors include his son, Edward T. Allen of Tampa; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

ANKER, Dr. James Martin, 71, passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2002 at The Cleveland Heart Institute. He is survived by his wife Sylvia, his five children, Jim, Toni, Patti, Lori and Marty; two step-children, Rock and Shelly, and their respective spouses; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Born in Marshfield, Wis., he was best known for his academic accomplishments and zeal for life. After receiving his Ph.D. from Catholic University, his professional history, appointments and activities commenced. His impressive career took him from Baltimore, Md., to Knoxville, Tenn.,to Tampa, Fla., where his tenure at the University of South Florida began. During his career at USF he held various positions including Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs, Vice Provost, Acting Provost an d Dean of the Graduate School. He retired from USF in 1994. He was a member of various professional and scientific societies and had been published in numerous publications throughout the world. During his 27 years in the Tampa Bay area he provided guidance and inspiration to many people both academically and personally. He will be dearly missed. Memorial services to be held at Grace Episcopal Church, 15102 Amberly Drive, Saturday March 23, 2002 at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to either The Cleveland Clinic Heart Institute or Grace Episcopal Church.

AVALO, Justine Flores, 92, died March 13, 2002 in Tampa. She was a Presbyterian and a seamstress. She is survived by her sister, Emilia; nieces, Pat and Mildred; and nephew, Anthony.

BARR, John F., 70 passed away March 14, 2002. Mr. Barr is survived by his wife Bernarda of 38 years; son, John F. Barr and wife, Maria; daughters, Gladys McCary and husband Al; Wanda Barr and Joanna Barr; brothers, Tom, August and Jim; sisters, Faye, Betty, Mary and Jeanie; grandsons, Robert and David McCary. Mr. Barr was Catholic by faith; Retired Master Sergeant from the US Army 8th Special Forces Group, Airborne Division, 1st Special Forces Fort Gulick, CZ after 24 years and worked at the Post Office for over 20 years. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Sunday (tonight). Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, March 19, 2002 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Interment will follow to Florida National Cemetery with full military honors.

DINNING, Tomena Mary, 87, of Tampa, passed away March 14, 2002. She is survived by her daughter, Susan Lane of Tampa; three grandchildren: Laura Kuntz of New Port Richey, Michael Lane II of Tampa, Drannon Lane of Brandon; three great-grandchildren: Dara Lane of Indian Trail, North Carolina, Nicole Kuntz and Kristin Kuntz, both of New Port Richey. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, March 19, 2002, 3 p.m. in Myrtle Hill Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to LifePath Hospice in her memory.

Coira and husband Enrique, and Dania Cabrera; grandchildren, Isabel Marrero and husband Marvin P., and Amado Cabrera, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Sheri L., Alex D. and Andrew T. Marrero, Aaron and Kelsey Cabrera; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Fernandez will be missed for her loving and gentle way she cared for her family. She has left her family a legacy of strength and character. Funeral services will be held Tuesday 10 a.m. at the Blount, Curry & Roel Armenia Chapel. FLYNN, Arthur Dean, Jr., 32 of Seminole, Fla., died Friday, March 15, 2002 at home. Born in Tampa, Fla., he moved herein 1981 from Allen Park, Mich. He was a Respiratory Therapist; attended Friendship Baptist Church; and was a member of NBRC. Survivors include his wife of nine years, Bonnie R. Flynn of Seminole, Fla.; two sons, Nathan and Noah Flynn, both of Seminole, Fla.; mother and stepfathe r, Yvonne and Joe Ross of Tampa, Fla.; father, Thomas Nealey of St. Petersburg, Fla.; two brothers, Leevon Michael Nealey and Mardio Beau Nealey, both of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and sister, Mia Cheyenna Nealey of Tampa, Fla. Family and friends will be received Wednesday, March 20, 2002 from 11 a.m. until service time at 1 p.m. at the Gee and Sorensen Funeral Home, 3180 30th Ave., North, St. Petersburg, Fla. Interment will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

HARDING, Charles T., 61, passed away March 14, 2002, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. A native of Minneapolis, Minn., Chuck is survived by his wife of forty years, Patricia (Bray); daughters, Donell Harding, Darcielle Gray and husband Doug, Bernadette Tillberg and husband Ken; grandchildren, Danica Gray and Rayanne Tillberg; sisters, Barbara Cowan and brother-in-law Ray Cowan, Donna Magdanz and brother-in-law Jim Magdanz and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles T. and Daisy Harding. Chuck proudly served our country in the United States Air Force for twenty six years, and retired from McDill AFB, Tampa, as a Captain in 1984. After his retirement, he owned and operated Florida Landcare and John's Palm Nursery and Landscaping, both in Tampa. He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, 14920 Hutchison Rd, Tampa on Thursday, March 21 at 7 p.m. Chuck was deeply loved by his family and friends and will be dearly missed. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to benefit Gage and Quinn Roberts, Chuck's infant grandniece and toddler grandnephew, both of whom are in need of kidney transplants. JUDAY, Lamar E., passed away Thursday March 14, 2002. A longtime resident of Tampa, Mr. Juday worked for 30 years as a teamster. He was a dog lover who bred and raised toy Pomeranians. Mr. Juday leaves to mourn his daughter, Lavonna Lee Juday of Nashville, Tenn.; two sons, Larry Juday of Vancouver, Wash., and Loren Juday of Tomball, Texas ; seven sisters, Verabelle Baxter of San Pedro, Calif., Violet Wuthrich of Ft. Wayne, Ind., Veda Pruitt of Lake City, Fla., Vivian Frantz of Warsaw, Ind., Velma Harden of Zanesville, Ind., Verdella Robinson of Goodhope, Ga., Velva Jean Gray of Warsaw, Ind.; brother, Leon Juday of Lake Alfred, Fla.; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. A graveside service will be held Monday March 18, 2002 at 11 a.m. at Garden of Memories Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. KAUL, Ralph Rains, died at home in Tampa on March 15, 2002, following an extended illness. Mr. Kaul was born on Jan. 17, 1914. A native of Salt Lake City, Utah, Mr. Kaul moved to Tampa in 1976 from Arlington Va., where he resided for many years. Mr. Kaul was a 1935 graduate of Reed College in Portland, Oregon and a long time member of its Board of Trustees. In recognition of his continuing dedication to the school, Reed College honored him by naming a newly constructed, state of the art facility, the Kaul Auditorium. In 1937 he was one of the first fellows at Harvard's Littauer School of Public Administration, now the Kennedy School of Government. He received a Rockefeller Research Fellowship at Columbia University in 1939 and did economic studies at the Council on Foreign Relations. Du ring World War II, he served as a lieutenant in the United States Naval Reserve. Until 1953 he worked in the Roosevelt and Truman Administrations in various capacities, including: Economic Advisor and Executive Assistant to the United States- Mexico Oil Commission (which settled the dispute over the expropriation by Mexico of United States oil interests), Director of Housing and Community Faciliti es in the National Security Resources Board and Chairman of the Critical Areas Committee which handled civilian priorities during the Korean War. In 1953 Mr. Kaul left the government to become a consultant, primarily to US Industries and Levitt Homes. Subsequently, he became a builder and among many other joint ventures, built Aircraft Warning Control Stations for the United States Air Force and b uilt the town of Page, Arizona for the United States Bureau of Reclamation. Ultimately he became a builder, developer and owner of shopping centers, apartments, motels and office buildings. He was a pioneer in the building of the large apartment complex and townhouses in Tampa in the mid 1960's. Although he did not wish his philanthropy to be widely publicized, he gave frequently and generously to a number of charitable organizations and founded the Kaul Foundation. He is survived by his wife, Virginia (Ginny); son and daughter-in-law, James and Marguerite Kaul of Tampa; his daughter, Judith Kaul of Albuquerque, N.M.; his stepsons and wives, Victor and Julie Holcomb and John and Mary Beeson-Holcomb; his stepdaughter and husband, Caroline and Dennis Jones; his stepdaughter-in-law, Sally Hol comb, all of Tampa; three grandchildren, David, Chad and Marelise Kaul and nine step-grandchildren, Sarah, Kayla and Christine Holcomb, Jack and Jim Holcomb, Joshua and Victor Jones, and Lisa and Bill Holcomb. The family would like to thank Dr. Vince Perron, his physician, and his caregivers, Jackie Hernandez, Robert Trotter, Craig Raver and Carlos Sendros, for their devoted and exceptional care. Graveside services will be held in Arlington, Virginia at a later date. Contributions in his memory can be made to the Alzheimer's Association, the Geriatric Department at the University of South Florida or the charitable organization of your choice.

McCLAMMA, Steve, 53, of Cardinals Guard Ave., Orlando, died Friday March 15, 2002. Mr. McClamma was a Senior claims representative for Allstate. Born in Fort Dix, N.J., he moved to Central Florida in 1971. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Orlando; and US Navy Veteran. Survived by wife, Cindy of Ocoee, Florida; sons, Derek L. Worthington, Maitland, Florida, and Scot L. McClamma of Winter Park, Florida; daughter, Brandi Smith of Winter Garden; father, Landys McClamma of Tampa, Florida; sister, Stephany McClamma of Tampa, Florida; and three grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Melania Nieves; his three children, Tara Nieves Novell, Justin Nieves and Dean Nieves; son-in-law Jeff Novell and two grandchildren, Shane Nieves and Carson Novell, all of Tampa. Born in Santurce, Puerto Rico, Evan was raised in the Bronx, N.Y. He was a graduate of the University of Buffalo and a Senior Analyst at Price Waterhouse Coopers of Tampa. He is survived by his wife, Jean; two sons, James and Robert; two daughters, Connie Brady and Nancy Corcoran; four sisters, Rosemary Frank, Cornelia Leventry, Delrita Coval and Edwarda Boltz; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A native of Johnstown, Pa. he lived in the area for the last 19 years coming from Pittsburgh Pa. He was president of Garland Way Advertising a subsidiary of HK Porter Company. He was a catholic; and a member of the Brandon Elks Lodge; VFW; and the POW Organization. He was a veteran of the Army Air Corp. during World War II in Europe. Private services will be held.

RAJAGOPAL, Balebail, 80, of Odessa, passed away March 15, 2002 at home. Mr. Rajagopal was born Nov. 13, 1921 in India, and moved to the Tampa area in 1998. He is survived by his wife, Lalitha Raja at home; his son, Dr. Ashok Raj and his wife, Mala of Odessa; and his grandson, Vikram Raj of Atlanta, Ga. Visitation will be held Tuesday March 19 from 1 to 2 p.m. at Trinity Memorial Gardens, SR 54, New Port Richey.

RAPPAPORT, Mollie passed away Friday, March 15, 2002. Mollie was born June 8, 1918 in New York City. She is survived by her beloved husband of 62 years, David; sons, Stuart and his wife Marie, Alexander (Sandy) and his wife Dede; four grandchildren, Jeffrey, and his wife Stephanie, Michael and his wife Tracy, Alysa Siffert and her husband Joao and Jason Rappaport; two great-grandchildren, Alexander Siffert and Samantha Rappaport. Mr. Root was a member of East Chelsea Baptist Church and the Army Corps of Engineers. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 18, 2002 at East Chelsea Baptist Church. Rev. Raymond James will officiate. Interment will follow at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell. The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home and Monday one hour prior to the service at the church.
