McCLURE, Donald, 78, of Tampa passed away April 1, 2002. He is survived by his wife, Barbara; daughters, Lynn Kratt of Chatham, N.Y., Jeryl Mazur of Chatham, N.Y., Leslie Thompson of Salem, Virginia, Kim Cardillo of Albany, N.Y., Kelly Burger of Chatham, N.Y., and Vikki Jones of Hollywood, Fla.; brother, Dick McClure of Watervliet, Michigan; 11 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran during World War II and a former member of the B.P.O.E. A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, April 4, 2002 at 12 Noon at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the LifePath Hospice, 3010 W. Azeele Street Tampa, FL 33609.

McKETHAN, Alfred Augustus, age 93 died Monday, April 1, 2002 at his home. Born in Brooksville, he spent his entire adult lifetime as an officer and director of SunTrust Bank, Nature Coast, formerly known as Hernando State Bank, where he began working at the age of 15. A graduate of Hernando High School, he attended Virginia military Institute, and later graduated from the University of Florida in 1931. He is Past President of the Florida Bankers Association, former Vice President for Florida of the American Bankers Association, former member of the Executive Council of the American Bankers Association, past member of the Legislative Division of the American Bankers Association, and former Chairman of the Bank Study Commission for the State of Florida. In prior years, he served as member of the Florida Citrus Commission, Director of the Florida Citrus Exchange, Director of the Florida Citrus Mutual and served as Chairman or President of the Brooksville Citrus Growers Association for over 35 years. From 1948 - 1952 he served as Chairman of the Florida Road Department in the Governor Fuller Warren administration, during which time he was instrumental in the construction of the Suns hine Skyway Bridge, Florida Turnpike and the construction of Highway 50 from the Gulf to the Atlantic, through Central Florida, simultaneously acquiring right-of-way for the four-lane of this road in years to come. He was the founding Chairman of the Southwest Florida Water Management District in 1961. He was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity and Florida Blue Key and holds an Honorary Degree of Commercial Science, all at the University of Florida. He was a Past President, Lieutenant Governor and Life Fellow of Kiwanis International. Alfred A. McKethan Park at Pine Island and Alfred A. McKethan Civic Auditorium in Hernando County were named in his honor by Hernando County Commissioners. A Mason, Shriner and Elk, he has been a benefactor to many institutions and individuals throughout his life time, including the First Presbyterian Church, Pasco-Hernando Community College, Florida State University, Eckerd College, Virginia military Institute and the University of Florida where the Alfred A. McKethan Baseball Stadium has been named in his honor. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Martha Ann Kimbrough. Survivors include his daughter, Mary Celia Buckner; four grandsons, Robert A. Bu ckner, James C. Buckner, William M. Buckner and James H. `Jimmy` Kimbrough, Jr.; one granddaughter, Katherine Kimbrough Parker and 11 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Dorothy M. Mason. The family will receive visitors Thursday, April 4, 2002 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Brooksville, 250 Bell Avenue, where funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 5, 2002. Interment will follow at Brooksville Cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be the Directors and Directors Emeriti of SunTrust Bank, Nature Coast. George W. Boring, Billy Brown, E.E. Davis, James P. Duncan, Lew Friedland, John R. Grey, Robert L. Henigar, Homer E. Hunnicutt, Jr., James H. Kimbrough, George Koehn, Danny R. Linville, C.E. Manuel, Rick Pearson, James T. S anders, Tommy Schrader, Chan Springstead, Troy Scarborough, Mark C. Taylor, Edgar E. Tolle, Jr. and George W. Williams. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Fred Abbott, George Allen, Mark Browning, Doyle Conner, Jorge Escamilla, Hjalma Johnson, Richard McGee, Eddie McIntyre, Charlie Miller, M. G. Nelson, Don Senterfitt, Ron Taylor and Ernie Wever. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to the First Presbyterian Church of Brooksville, Hernando-Pasco Hospice or to the Boy Scouts of America.

MORGAN, Esther Ouida, 62, of Tampa, died March 26, 2002. Survivors include three daughters, Cassandra Powell, Ouida Morgan and Glory Anderson all of Tampa.

PALMEIRO, Carmen, 91, of Tampa, passed away Saturday, March 30, 2002. She was a native of Tampa and is survived by her son, Frank; two sisters, Marina Yado and Anita Artesona; two grandchildren, Patricia Pinkston and Leah Palmeiro; and one great-grandson, Robby Pinkston. Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 3, at Bethel Assembly of God Church and interment was in Centro Espanol Memorial Park Cemetery.

PORTER, Oradee Jackson Ludd, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 2, 2002, after a lengthy illness. Those left to celebrate her life are a devoted daughter, Johnnie (William) Saunders; son, Alfred Turner; sister, Sarah Robinson, thirteen grandchildren, one of whom she raised, Lawrence (Renee) Ludd, and a host of great and great-great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Oradee was born in Tampa on August 29, 1911 to Moses and Sarah Jackson, member of a prominent local family. As a child growing up, she worked in the family business, the Jackson Home, which has now been designated an Historical Site. During the era of segregation, the Jackson Home served as a popular stop-over for such luminaries as Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Cab Calloway, etc. Oradee attended the public s chools of Tampa and also Florida A&M. Later in life she moved to Jacksonville, where she married Jessie Ludd and later John Porter. She gave her life to Christ at an early age, and held a strong belief in her saviour. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Jessie Ludd and John Porter; and a daughter Moselee Brown. Graveside Rites will be April 5, 2001, 2 p.m. at Memorial Cemetery, with Father Millard F. Neal Officiating.

RODRIGUEZ, Aurora, 92, of Tampa, passed away April 2, 2002 in Tampa. Survivors include her nieces, Dorothy Wink, Claudia Hoffman, Gladys Mitchell and Roberta Rhodes; nephews, Arthur L. and Arthur H. Rodriguez; sisters-in-law, Doris and Helen Rodriguez; and several great nieces and nephews. Ms. Rodriguez graduated high school in Tampa. She worked for over 40 years as an export broker for Mohegan International Corporation in New York City and was responsible for all Firestone tire and rubber accounts. She retired in 1982. Ms. Rodriguez was Catholic and graveside services will be held Friday 11 a.m. at Myrtle Hill Memorial Park.

SCHULTHEIS, Starr, 58, of Spring Hill, Fla., passed away April 1, 2002, at Kindred Hospital of Tampa. She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. She was homemaker. She was an active member in the Tampa Bay Vizsla Club. She is survived by her husband, Charles; two daughters, Susan Tanski and husband Mike of Monticello, Fla., and Sandy Morrow and husband Keith of Land O' Lakes, Fla.; her parents, Bea and Bill Zak of Mt. Vernon, Ind.; one sister, Jo Dawne Tomlinson of Mt. Vernon, Ind.; and five grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday at 3:30 p.m. at the Calvary Church of Nazarene, 235 Cobblestone Drive, Spring Hill, Fla.

WHITE, Joe Richard, 76, of Tampa passed away on Wednesday morning, April 3, 2002. His loving wife of 44 years, Helen; son, Kenneth; a brother, Jack Allen White; a sister, Maxine Stagner; two nieces and two nephews and their extended families survive him. He was born in Agency, Iowa and attended schools in Moulton, Iowa. Later he attended the University of Tampa. After 22 years in the US Navy he retired as a Chief Hospital Corpsman. He served overseas attached to Marine Units during World War II and Korea Conflict, (Chosin Reservoir). His last tour of duty was at the Marine Reserve Training Center on Gandy Blvd. He and his wife have made Tampa their home since 1963. As owner and operator of Interbay Pest Control, he served Tampa for 12 years until 1988. He was a member of American Legion Post #139, Fleet Reserve Association Branch 188, and a lifetime member of DAV. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2002 at 2 p.m. at the Mark III Funeral Home South Tampa Chapel. The family will receive friends prior to and after the service. Interment will take place at Florida National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions, in his memory, may be made to LifePath Hospice or your favorite charity.

BIGELOW, Vera, 94, of Dade City, died Thursday, April 4, 2002 at home. A native of Oswego, N.Y. she was a winter visitor to this area. She raised and showed Oxford sheep and was a well known Oxford breeder. She was instrumental in obtaining a wool building at the New York State Fair and was an advocate for the visually impaired. Survivors include two granddaughters, Bonnie Christian of Dade City and Pauling Tarana of Savannah, Ga.; four great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren and two great-great-great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held in Oswego, N.Y.

MILLER, Mattie L., age 83, went to be with our Lord Jesus on Wednesday afternoon, April 3, 2002, in the presence of her loving husband after an extended illness. She is survived by her husband of sixty-one years, Wiley; one daughter and son-in-law, Deborah Grace and John Wilkinson of Jacksonville, Fla.; two sisters, Gertrude Griffith of Erwin, Tenn., and Grace Hobacker of Downingtown, Pa.; one brother, Harley Parker of Burnsville, N.C.; a niece and a nephew, Hilda and Bobby Miller of Capon Bridge, W.Va.; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jack and Donna Miller of Massillon, Ohio; one sister-in-law, Maude Miller of Cornelius, N.C.; two grandsons and three great-granddaughters all residing in England; many other nieces and nephews and cousins as well as many lifelong, beloved frien ds throughout the country. Mattie was born in Beelog, N.C. and resided in Massillon for almost thirty years and resided for the last twenty years in Zephyrhills, Fla. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Zephyrhills. Mattie was a loving, caring, Christian woman and a joy to all who were privileged enough to know her. At Mattie's request, there will be no formal services. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in Mattiers memory.
