HEITGER, Earl C., 82, of Sun City Center, passed away August 11, 2002. Formerly of Mt. Prospect, Ill., he moved here in 1986. He was a retired Corporate Vice President in the wholesale food business and an Army veteran of World War II. He is survived by his wife, Veronica Heitger; two daughters, Pamela Doerr of Sarasota and Teri Bridge of Deer Park, Ill.; and one grandson, William Doerr, Jr. Friends who wish may make memorial gifts to the American Heart Association.

KONONITZ, Aaron M., 28, passed away on August 10, 2002. A native of Tampa, he graduated from Leto High School. He is survived by his mother, Cassandra Barrios-Rogers; father, William; sister, Alexandra Kononitz and her son, Zion, all of Tampa; his maternal grandmother, Helen Barrios of Tampa; paternal grandparents, Michael and Helen Kononitz of Springfield, Mass.; aunt, Maura Barrios; uncle, Andy Barrios, both of Tampa; and uncle, Michael Kononitz of Springfield, Mass. A memorial service will be held at 8:00 p.m., Wednesday August 14, 2002 at Calvary Community Church, 4811 George Road, Tampa, with Dr. Hank Lindstrom officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to DACCO, 4422 E. Columbus Dr., Tampa, FL 33605.

LANMAN, Ida May, 81, of Valrico, passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2002. She is survived by her loving family. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Thursday at the chapel of Serenity Meadows Funeral Home, 6919 Providence Rd. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Southside Baptist Church of Brandon Building Fund.

She was born in Equador and survived by husband, Oscar Letamendi; daughters, Marjorie Gibbons of Tampa, Rosie Greco of Palm Coast, Fla., Tanya Cuevas of Tampa and Tamara Salgado of Tampa; brothers, Carlos, Walter, Honorato, Washington and Jose; sister, Virginia Vivanco; and six grandchildren. Visitation will be 5:00 to 10:00 p.m., with a Wake service at 7:00 p.m., August 13, 2002 at Swilley Funeral Home Chapel, 1602 W. Waters Avenue, with Fr. Nicholas, Hospice Chaplin, officiating.

MILLER, John Michael, 42, of Brandon, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Sunday, August 11, 2002 with his loving family by his side. He was a loyal employee of the United States Postal Service for over 21 years. He was an asset for the Postal Service as a Window Clerk and also served on the Board of Directors for the APWU for many years. He will definitely be remembered and missed as a loyal and true friend to many who knew him. John graduated from Brandon High School in 1977 and coached girls softball in Brandon where he took the girls to two State Championships. He is survived by his devoted wife of 20 years, Rebecca Lynn Miller; daughters, Jessie Reianna Miller, Jana Lyn Miller and son, John Michael Miller, Jr.; loving and devoted parents, Tom and Linda Miller; bro ther, Thomas Miller, II; sister, Linn Shlief and husband, Jon Shlief; nieces, Jennifer Shlief, Brandon and Taylor Anspach of Tampa; nephews, Thomas Miller, III, Billy Miller, Richard Miller and Joshua Shlief, all of Brandon and Zachary Anspach of Tampa; mother-in-law, Juanita Anspach and brother and sister-in-law, Steven and Debbie Anspach of Tampa; He was predeceased by his father-in-law, Robert Anspach; sister-in-law, Debbie Miller and brother-in-law, Robbie Anspach. John was a wonderful and devoted husband father, son, brother and uncle. He will definitely be remembered and missed as a loyal and true friend to many who knew him. John fought a long and hard battle with cancer, but in the end, God brought him home to be at peace. The family would like to make a heartfelt thank you to Li fePath Hospice, they would not have been able to do this without them. TILTON, Doris, 78, passed away August 10, 2002. Born in Columbus, Ohio, Doris moved to Tampa in 1957, and was a long-time resident of Bayshore Presbyterian Apartments, South Tampa. Doris recently joined the Shoresh David Messianic Synagogue Congregation. She was a life-long learner and a loving, devoted wife and mother. Doris is survived by her husband, Bob Tilton of South Tampa; son, Larry (Judy) Tilton, brother, Leo Diehr and sister, Nancy Diehr of Columbus, Ohio; brother and sister-in-law, John and Barbara Tilton of Whitehall, Ohio; grandsons, Bob and Rusty Tilton of Tampa; and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Charles Tilton of Tampa. A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, August 15, 7 p.m., at Shoresh David Messianic Synagogue, 4320 Bay to Bay Blvd, Tampa. TURNER, C. Roy, 72, of Plant City, died August 12, 2002. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Jean Turner; son, Randy Childers of Cashiers, N.C.; daughters, Dianna Faye Tallent of Plant City, Petula Butler of Brandon and Kim Rowan of Plant City; brother, Jack Turner of Plant City; 13 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Ricky Childers. Roy was a life long resident of Plant City, a heavy equipment operator for Cone Bros. Construction, a member of Whitehurst Baptist Church, and together with Jean, was a foster parent to over one hundred children for 11 years. Graveside services will be held in Memorial Park Cemetery on Thursday, August 15, 2002 at 3:30 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5-7:00 p.m.

WARREN, Esther Frances, 74, of Tampa, went home to her heavenly father August 10, 2002. She was a Union Steward, having worked for Honeywell for more than 25 years and of the Presbyterian faith. She was preceded in death by her son, Randy. She is survived by her beloved husband of 55 years, Leamon `Red`; sons, Steve, Curtis and wife, Tammie and Jerry; daughters, Mickey and her husband, Ray Wilder and Pam Kesler; sisters, Nettibel Marsh and Carrie May Wolf; grand-children, Tammy and her husband, Byron, Beth and her husband, Darryl, Kenny, and Anthony; great-grandchildren, John, Josh, Matt and Ashley; and a great-great-grand-daughter, Tabitha. Her visitation will be this evening from 6-8 p.m., with services to follow Wednesday at 10 a.m., both at Hillsboro Memorial F.H.

WOOLNEY, Helen E. `Moma`, of Riverview, Fla., passed away peacefully Sunday, August 11, 2002 at home with Ronald, Laura-Jean, Cody and Cory Goodsell, Gail Gresens and Jean Hurley. Helen was under the care of LifePath Hospice since April. She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony `Spinach` and survived by sister-in-law, Frances Woolney of New York; two nieces, Linda (Ashley) Wallmeyer of Virginia and Sandra Courbet and family of Riverview; three nephews, Clyde, Billy and Leornard Smith of Virginia. Helen was living with her `adopted` family, Ronald, Laura-Jean `Laurie`, Cody and Cory Goodsell of Riverview for many years. Funeral services will be held at Stowers Riverview Chapel, Thursday, August 15, 2002 at 11 a.m. The family will receive friends Wednesday, August 14, 2002 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday one hour prior to service at the funeral home. Survivors include his wife, Juanita; three daughters, Carolyn Barbosa, Silvia Barbosa-Perez and Aurora Barbosa, all of Dade City; five brothers; three sisters; and six grandchildren. The family will r eceive friends at the funeral home from 6-8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 16, 2002. Funeral Services will be held in the Chapel of Hodges Family Funeral Home on Saturday, August 17, 2002 at 9:30 a.m. with Father Ramon Hernandez officiating.

He is survived by his brothers, Bernard Gardner of Leominster, Mass. and Kenneth Gardner of Willow Dale, Ontario; sisters, Theresa Drewry of Land O' Lakes, Fla. and Lilly Hacken of Missassualga, Ontario. STEELE, Charles `Bud` T., age 79, of Zephyrhills, passed away August 8, 2002 at his residence. Mr. Steele moved to Zephyrhills from Turner Air Force Base, Georgia in 1967 after retiring from the military. He served in World War II, Korea, and Viet Nam; was a member of Disabled American Veterans, Chapter #65 in Zephyrhills; and a Catholic. Survivors include his wife, Edwina Steele of Zephyrhills; one sister, Betty Ann Miller of Sartora Spring, Maryland; sister-in-law, Pearl Guleff of Zephyrhills; nieces, Barbara Ann O'Keefe of Massachusetts, Candy Vaganek of Sparta, New Jersey and several other nieces; and a nephew, Robert Ryoul of New Jersey. Services were held Monday, August 12 at Kelly Memorial Funeral Home. Interment followed at Oakside Cemetery in Zephyrhills, Fla. with full military Honors.

ATCHISON, Louis Everett, 79, of Tampa, beloved father, died May 20, 2002 from complications of a stroke. He was predeceased by his parents, John S. and Elise Hotz of New York, N.Y.; two brothers, Pete of New York, N.Y., and John of Rensselaer, N.Y.; and his devoted wife of 52 years, Margaret `Peggy` of Tampa. Survivors include sons, Louis, Jr. of Tampa, Douglas and his wife Carol of Lutz; daughter, Noah Elyse Rose `Betsy` of Asheville, N.C.; and grandchildren, Chapin and Allyson of Lutz. Born in Lancaster, Pa., he grew up in New York, N.Y. and graduated from Navy Flight School during World War II. As a Captain in the U.S. Marine Corps, he served as a fighter pilot in the Korean War and as a flight instructor at Pensacola Naval Air Station. He also served in the Marine Corps Reserves . His career as an insurance agent both in Pensacola and Tampa led to top honors for regional sales. He was an avid bridge player and also enjoyed crossword puzzles. He was a member of Forest Hills United Methodist Church, 904 W. Linebaugh Ave, Tampa, where a memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 18, 2002 at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the scholarship fund established by his wife and four of her FSU classmates: `Fearless Five Class of 1944 Endowed Scholarship Fund` FSU Foundation, 225 University Center, Bldg. C Suite 3100, Tallahassee, FL 32306.

BAKER, Harold `Yogi` `Baker`, 79, of Tampa, Fla. passed away August 10, 2002. Survivors include wife, Mary Ann (`Sissy`) Baker; son, Mike (Lorraine) Baker; daughter, Barbara (Larry) Ludwick; daughter, Brenda (Harry) Phillips; sister, Elsie Ponder; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Libby and Earl Hamilton; grandsons, James W. Pistole, Alex Ludwick and Ronnie Baker; granddaughters, Kasey (Bobby ) Klem, and Beth Ludwick; nieces and nephews. Harold was a veteran of World War II and was retired from Pan American Airlines. Goodbye to Baker, Dad, Granddad, Yogi, Harold. Donations to the American Gulfcoast Lung Association may be made in lieu of flowers.
