FISHER, Myrtle K., 92, formerly of Brandon, passed away August 12, 2002. Survivors include a niece, Kyle Riddle and a nephew, Robert Kyle. Mrs. Fisher was born in Mango, Fla. and had resided in this area most of her life. She was a retired teacher for the Hills. Co. School System. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Garden Of Memories Cemetery.

GARDNER, Mr. Charles S., passed away Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2002, in Brandon. Mr. Gardner was born January 15, 1915 in Brooklyn, New York and lived for many years on Long Island, New York and also at Lynchburg, Virginia. He has lived in the Brandon area since 1992. Mr. Gardner served four years, one month and one day in the United States Army during World War II and attained the rank of Second Lieutenant. He was graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University (B.S.), Hofstra University (M.Ed.) and attended the University of Virginia (Ed.D. candidate). He taught public school in New York and Virginia and was a school administrator in Lynchburg, Virginia, where he retired in 1979. Mr. Gardner was Lay Minister at Centenary United Methodist Church (Lynchburg), where he was also a Sunday school leader a nd a baritone voice in the church choir. Mr. Gardner is survived by his wife, Mrs. Joyce Gardner of Valrico; and three sons and daughters-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Peter C. Gardner of Merrick, New York, Mr. and Mrs. John W. Gardner of Valrico, and Mr. and Mrs James S. Gardner of Richmond, Virginia. Mr. Gardner also leaves grand-children, Mr. and Mrs. Matthew T. Gardner of Ohio, Mr. and Mrs. Charles P. Gardner of Melbourne, Florida, Scott and Elizabeth Gardner of Valrico, and Erica, Jennifer and James Shannon of Tidewater, Virginia. Mr. Gardner also leaves great-grandchildren, Christy and Stephen Gardner of Melbourne, James and Kaeli Shannon, and Dylin Murrell of Tidewater, Virginia. Mr. Gardner's sisters, Mrs. June VanBrunt of Clearwater, Florida and Mrs. Dorrace Moses of Bedford, Virginia surv ive him, as well as a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives in New York, Virginia and Florida. A memorial service to honor Mr. Gardner will be conducted Friday, August 16, 2002 at 11 a.m. at St. Andrews United Methodist Church, Bloomingdale Avenue, Brandon. Following the service, the family will receive visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John W. Gardner, Valrico. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to the USF Foundation/Institute on Aging in Mr. Gardner's honor.

GARNER, Nettie M., 92, of Tampa, died Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2002. Survived by two sons, James and Jerry; three daughters, Katherine, Elizabeth and Annette; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

GLASER, Thomas Edward, born April 28, 1941 in Detroit, Mich., passed away July 19, 2002, in Land O' Lakes. Tom served in the U.S. Army. He was predeceased by his wife of 35 years, Maureen Lindsay. Tom worked for Whirlpool. In 1972 he began his 27 year career with Cummins Cumberland in Evansville. Tom graduated from Vincennes University. Tom attended the First Church of God. He worked for the Scott Township Volunteer Fire Department, was a member of the Lessing Lodge #464 of the Free and Accepted Masons and also the Scottish Rite. Tom met his second wife, Christine McCleary and they were married on December 19, 1998. Tom and Chris moved to Land O'Lakes, Florida in June of 1999. Tom retired from Cummins in order to move to a warmer climate! Tom worked for Gordon Chevrolet, Sears Termi te & Pest Control & Terminix (Terminix bought out Sears) as a service technician in the termite division. Tom started several hobbies in Florida. He was building a model train layout. He built two model airplanes with six foot wing spans and obtained his Florida state license to actually fly them! He was assembling equipment to build his woodworking shop. His mother, Antoinette Glaser predeceased him. He is survived by his wife, R. Christine Glaser; father, Leonard Glaser; two sisters, Joann Cooper and Karen Glaser; daughter and son-in-law, Shana L. and Jeff Cox; son and daughter-in-law, David R. and Alyson Glaser; two step-sons, Douglas C. McCleary and Bradley C. McCleary; step-daughter-in-law, Jeannie McCleary; two grand-daughters, Jennifer and Kristina Cox; two grandsons, Jacob Cox and Kyle Glaser; and one step-granddaughter, Meili McCleary. He was awaiting the arrival of a new grandson, Elias McCleary. A Memorial Srvice will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Idlewild Baptist Church.

GUSTAFSON, Donna A., 42, of Tampa, passed away Aug. 8, 2002. She is survived by daughter, Danielle; son, Robert; granddaughter, Monique; parents, Frank and Alice and Rosemary and Joel; grand-father, Tony Frisco; sisters, Dana and Jeffery; also many aunts, uncles nieces, nephews and cousins.

HARRIS, Reggie, of Tampa, died Aug. 12, 2002. Survivors include mother, Geraldine; children, Reggie Jr., Teon, Rakim, Shavoree and Reanna.

HAYES, Earl S, of Tampa died July 30, 2002. He is survived by his sister, Mary Brannon; brothers, James W Hayes III, and Robert W. Hayes; mother, Bettie Hayes; father, James W. Hayes Jr; grandmother, Alese Beaty and many other loving family members.

HAYMAN, Nona B., 96, of Land O' Lakes, Florida passed away on August 14, 2002. Mrs. Hayman is preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Braxton Hayman; and is survived by her daughters, Virginia L. Pass of Land O'Lakes, and Evelyn Blanche Kent of Jacksonville; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was a member of El Bethel Baptist Church in Tampa. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2002 at Noon at Blount Curry & Roel Funeral Homes, Garden of Memories Chapel, 4207 E. Lake Avenue, with interment to follow in Orange Hill Cemetery.

HILL, Bruce C., age 51, of Port Richey, formerly of Tampa, passed away on August 13, 2002 at Bayfront Medical Center. He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Jeanne Seitz; his mother, Hilda Hill; his sons, Matthew Hill and Jerry Seitz; his godchild, Casey Weigel; his brothers, Keith Jacobson, Ralph Jacobson and Kevin Jacobson; and his sisters, Lisa Rodriguez, Greta Crosby and Dee Dee Jacobson. He was a supervisor for Emery World Wide at Tampa International Airport. He also coached and managed for N.W. Tampa Little League. Graveside services will be held Saturday, August 17, 2002 at 11 a.m. at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either Bayfront Medical Center-Chaplain Services or the Disabled American Veterans.

HINKLE, Lois Jean, 67, of Gibsonton, died Tuesday, August 13, 2002 at home. Memorial Service was held on Thursday, August 15 at 7 p.m. in her home. Mrs. Hinkle is survived by her husband, Henry Hinkle; one daughter, Laurie McDonald; one son, Kirk McDonald; three grandsons and one granddaughter. Also survived by two brothers, Daryl Howerton and Robert Howerton; one sister, Treasure Hermetz; nieces, Jessica Howerton, Sharril Swindle, Tracy Anderson, Tonia Howerton, Michele Vargas, and Lisa Fikins; nephews, Robbie Howerton, Michael Hermetz, and David Hermetz; six great-nieces and four great-nephews.

MADDOX, Sharon Kay, 61, of Seffner, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, died August 14, 2002, after a courageous, five-year battle with cancer. She is survived by Hardy B. Maddox, her devoted husband of 43 years; son, Brian Maddox; daughter-in-law, Mary Maddox; grandson, Alec Jay (`A.J.`) Maddox; and granddaughter, Ally Maddox. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 18, 2002, at 2:30 p.m., at Kingsway Worship Center, 501 S. Kingsway Road, Seffner (813-685-2452). MENDOZA, Angel Mary, infant, passed away Sunday, August 11, 2002. Survivors include her parents, John J. and Barbara A. Mendoza; brother, Joshua Mendoza; sisters, Amanda and Kristy Mendoza; grandparents, William and Mary Ann Rodriguez, Daniel and Marie Mendoza; aunts and uncles, Joey and Sandra Mendoza, D.J Mendoza, Jodi Wyszynski, and Jimmy and Darla Rodriguez; and godmother, Mary Spatz.

NELSON, William C., age 66, of Plant City, died Aug. 14, 2002. He is survived by wife, Nonnie Nelson. Services will be ehld in Galloway, Ohio.

She had been a teacher and librarian at Oakley School in Santa Maria, Calif. for 20 years. She was an active member of the American Association of University Women. He was born in Tifton, GA and came here in 1971 from Tampa, He was a Baptist by faith and retired after 30 years as a truck driver for American Can Company in Tampa. He enjoyed car ing for his home and property, and spending time with his family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 17, 2002 at Brewer & Sons Brooksville Chapel, 1190 S. Broad St., Brooksville. Interment will follow at Lake Lindsey Cemetery. In lieu of flowers Mr. Selph asked that donations be made to the Wayfarer Primitive Baptist Church Building Fund, 14368 Ponce De Leon Blvd., Brooksville, FL 34601.

He was a graduate of DeWitt High School; Lansing Community College; and Southern Illinois University. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy attaining the rank of First Class Petty Officer. Surviving are wife, Catherine; mother, RoseMarie (David) Beardsley; father, James Edward Spalding; sister, Sherry Spalding and her fiancee, Roger Jones; brother, Jason Wyman; five step-siblings. VERNON, James L. `Larry`, 89, a native of Tampa, died Tuesday, August 13, 2002 of natural causes. A World War II veteran and retired letter carrier, Vernon worked for Eastern Airlines prior to the war and Gulf Florida Terminal upon his return. He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Carolyn Wanda Vernon; two children, Carol Lyons of Ridgeley, W.Va., and Steve Vernon of Washington , D.C.; a brother, Norman H. Vernon of Rochester, Mich.; two sisters, Mrs. R. Ed (Louise) Brown of Lakeland, Fla., and Mrs. Kelly (Lucille) Oswald of Sun City Center, Fla.; two grandchildren, Shannon Groman of Owings Mills, Md. and Erin Zusi of Frederick, Md.; and two great-grandchildren, Kaitlin and Samantha Groman of Owings Mills, Md. Vernon and his wife were longtime members of First United Methodist Church in Tampa and ar e currently members of Palma Ceia United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 17, at Palma Ceia United Methodist Church, Dale Mabry Hwy. and Bay to Bay Blvd. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Friday at Blount, Curry & Roel Funeral Home, 605 S. MacDill Ave.
