He was a Protestant, an electrician, a member of the Brandon Masonic Lodge #114, Egypt Shrine, `Keystone Kops` and Bradenton Veterans Of Foreign Wars Post # 10141. He is survived by his sons, David, Richard and Craig; daughters, Laura and Gail; sisters, Ceil and Carole; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Visitation will be August 19, 2002 at 9 a.m. with services to follow at 10 a.m. both at Hillsboro Memorial F.H. Interment will take place at North Meadowlawn Cemetery in New Port Richey, Fla.

HIDLE, Beatrice, 83, of Brandon, died August 16, 2002 in Brandon, Fla. She was a member of Celebration Church of God in Zephyrhills for over 20 years. She is survived by son, David (Barbara) Hidle of Brandon, Fla.; brother, Magrum Coleman Elmore of Bonifay, Fla.; sister, Eunice Saxon of Bonifay, Fla.; three grand-children and nine great-grand-children. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 19, 2002 at Oakley Funeral Home in Dade City. The family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until service time. Burial will follow at Floral Memory Gardens in Dade City.

JOHNSTON, Everette R., 71, of Darby, died Friday, August 16, 2002 at Hernando-Pasco Hospice Care Center. A 7th generation Floridian, he was born and raised in Darby. He was a retired Educator with the Pasco County School System and had spent 10 years previously in the Texas Education System. He was a member of the Church of Christ, the VFW, and was a US Navy Veteran in Korea. Survivors include his wife, Mary Eileen; two daughters, Lori Love of Naples and Dorothy Maier of Darby; his mother, Ida Pike of Darby; a sister, Shirley Powell of Zephyrhills; and seven grandchildren, Anthony Johnston of Camp LeJune, N.C., Stacy Parks of Naples, Billy Lumpkin, David Lumpkin, Mark Johnston, Emily Maier and Tyler Maier, all of Darby. He was predeceased by his father, Maurice Z. Johnston; his first wi fe, Peggy M. Johnston; a daughter, Mary Frances Johnston; a son, Mark E. Johnston; and a sister, Audrey Flicker. Graveside Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. at Townsend House Cemetery on Monday, August 19, 2002. Pallbearers will be David Estabrook, Max Ramos, Victor Kodish, Sonny Storch, Edward Storch and Buddy Storch. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to either Hernando-Pasco Hospice or Pasco Regional Medical Center.

BENJAMIN, Christy Lorene, nee Turner, known to her family as Lori, went home to be with the Lord, Friday, August 16, 2002. Sweet and kind, Lori was the family poet laureate, a lifetime resident of Tampa, Fla., and a member of Buchanan Baptist Church. She is survived by four children, Jeremy, Jessica, William and Matthew; parents, Chris and Judy Turner; brothers, Joe Benjamin and wife, Michelle and Tom Benjamin and wife, Jeanne; sister, Jennifer and husband, Paul Sweet; grandmother, Margaret Fletcher; as well as four nieces; three nephews; and one unborn grandchild. Lori will be missed by all who knew her, but because of Jesus, we know where she is, and that we will meet again. A Memorial Service will be held at Buchanan Baptist Church, Tuesday, August 20 at 10:30 a.m.

KAZMIERCZAK, Verna Joy, 62, of Tampa passed away Thursday, August 15, 2002. She is survived by her husband, John Kazmierczak of Tampa. A native of Chicago, Ill. She came to live in the Tampa Bay area 37 years ago from Venice, Fla. She was very active in the Westshore Christian Church, and a past officer in the Christian Women's Fellowship at the church. She was a member of the Porcelain Artist Association. Funeral services will be held, 12 noon Monday, August 19, 2002 at the Westshore Christian Church. The family will receive friends Sunday (Today) August 18, 2002 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Marsicano-B. Marion Reed-Stowers chapel, 4040 Henderson Blvd. Tampa. KERN, Thelma L., 69, passed away August 15, 2002. She was born in Louisville, Ky., daughter of William Henry and Catherine Ann Pollard. Survivors include her husband, Richard S. Kern, Sr. of 42 years; son, Richard S. Kern, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Sara Darby; sister, Betty Klinglesmith; nephews, Billy and Shane Krimm; and a host of other nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Thelma was a loving wife and devoted mother. Mrs. Kern was a Homemaker and a Catholic by faith. She worked as a Cafeteria Cook at St. Patrick's Catholic Church for eight years. KOCH, Irene M., 81, passed away August 15, 2002. She was born in London, England and moved to the states in 1947. She was a long time resident of Temple Terrace. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Donald E. Koch. She is survived by her son, Gary and his wife, Donna; granddaughters, Patricia and Rachel; brother, Air Vice-Marshall H.A. Merriman and his wife, Mary; and nieces, Antonia, Sarah, and Jacqueline. KOSTELC, Frank `Rick`, age 91, of Tampa passed away Friday, August 16, 2002. He was a native of Joliet, Ill. and moved to Tampa in 1974. He attended Christ the King Catholic Church. He was owner and operator of his own painting company until his retirement. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary; daughters, Sharon M. Salerno and husband, Larry of Canon City, Colo. and Carol Ann Johnston of Oviedo, Fla.; step-daughter, Gloria Barcelo and husband, George; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. LAWHON, Idalyne Grey, 91, of Tampa, Fla., passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2002. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, James E. Lawhon, Sr. She is survived by one son, James E. Lawhon, Jr. and his wife, Catharine E. of Lakeland, Fla.; one brother, E. Gilbert Grey of Savannah, Ga.; and three grandchildren, Della O. Lawhon of Boston, Mass., James E. Lawhon, III of Tallahas see, Fla. and Melissa L. Whisenant of Lakeland, Fla. A native of Savannah, Ga., she attended Georgia Teachers College (Georgia Southern University). She moved to the Tampa Bay area as a single young lady in 1930 met and married James E. Lawhon in 1933 (Mr. Lawhon was President of B. Marion Reed Funeral Home). Idalyne was a member of the First Baptist Church of Tampa where she was President of the BYKOTA Sunday School class, Superintendent of Young People's Department and Superintendent of College and Career Department. Idalyne had many accomplishments throughout her life. She graduated from Gordon Keller School of Nursing where she was later on the Advisory Council as Vice Chairman from 1959-1961, a member of the planning committee for construction of Nurses Educational and Residence build ing and President of the Alumni Association; Brewster Vocational School of Practical Nursing, Tampa, where she was on the Advisory Council, 1953-1959 and Vice Chairman 1959; Florida Heart Association Committee on Nursing Education Chairman, 1960-1961; Hillsborough County Heart Association Director 1960 to the present; Curtis Hixon Rehabilitation Center, Tampa, Nursing Resources Division 1958-1959; Hillsborough County Association for Mental Health Director, 1958-1961; Young Women's Christian Association; Palma Ceia Opti - Mrs. Club, Tampa, President 1954; Tampa Woman's Club 2nd Vice President, 1982 and Director for four years; Riverside Garden Club Tampa, President 1946-1947; Florida Funeral Directors Auxiliary President, 1959; Pilot Club International; Pilot Club of Tampa, President 1969-1 970. She was also the Director of Nursing and Health Programs Services, Greater Tampa Chapter of the American National Red Cross, 1950-1975. A member of the Florida Nurses Association, President 1958-1960; District No. 4 Florida Nurses Association, President 1948-1950. Chairman for Nursing Education Committee Hillsborough Heart Association; and Charter member of Nurses Education Administrators of Tampa (NEAT). She received the Ann Magnussen Award of the American National Red Cross in 1973. She was nominated for the American Association of University Women's `Woman of the Year` and received the `Woman of the Year` 1970-1971 of the Pilot Club of Tampa, Inc. PEROT, Ventura, 67, passed away August 16, 2002. He was the Past President of the Cuban Club, and had also been in the Merchant Marines. He is survived by his wife, Elisa; son, Robert Lucas of Tallahassee; daughter, Jessica Perot of Tampa; and step-mother, Carmen Perot of Miami. National Cremation Society.

POWELL, Marshall Douglas (Harden), passed away July 13, 2002, in Clermont, Ga., as the result of a jeep accident. Marshall was born in Tampa, Fla., Aug. 13, 1980 and attended Hillsborough County Schools. He was a member of Fowler Ave. Baptist Church. He is survived by a son, Trevor Douglas Rankin and Trevor's mother, Brandy Rankin of Clermont, Ga.; his loving parents, James and Stacy Harden; brother, Jack E. Powell; sisters, Donna L. and Alexandria (Lexie) Powell (Harden), all of Tampa; grandfather, James C. Harden of Zephyrhills, Fla.; grandparents, Dawn and Leslie Smith; aunts and uncles, Priscilla and Michael Harrell, Pamela and Angel Del Valle, all of Tampa; great-grandmother, Lorna Barnum of Dowling Park, Fla.; cousins, Paula and Michael Timmons of Largo, Fla., Jack and Willvia n Duggan, Laura and Brandon Jones of Dover, Sean and Rebecca Hamilton, and Mark and Jennifer Hamilton of Panama City, Fla. Marshall was a treasure; a true joy, loved as a very special part of our family. He will be sorely missed by all. There will be a memorial service for family and friends at a later date.

RUBIN, Robert M., Lt. Col. USAF, Ret., `Bob`, age 72, of Tampa, passed away, after a valiant one year battle with pancreatic cancer, on Friday, August 15, 2002. Mr. Rubin is survived by his loving and loved wife of 48 years, Glenna; his two devoted children, Mark and Pamela; and his granddaughter, Breanna, who was the apple of Papa's eye. Mr. Rubin was Professor Emeritus of St. Leo University retiring in 1997. He had a long and distinguished career in the United States Air Force, retiring in 1975 in the rank of Lt. Col. Burial will be graveside in Wayland, Mass. on Sunday, August 18, 2002. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 25, 2002 at Blount, Curry & Roel West Hillsborough Chapel. Please call funeral home for time of service. The family suggests that in Bob's memory donations be made to H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center, Tampa, Fla. whose staff of doctors and nurses kept him alive over a year. The family also appreciates the care given at the James A. Haley VA Hospital, Hospice section, Tampa and his last week, especially from Karen Travis, Nurse Practitioner.

RUMORE, Casimiro `Cachie`, 73, of Tampa went home to be with the Lord Friday, August 16, 2002. He was preceded in death by his son, Rusty. He is survived by Mary, his devoted wife of 55 years; son, Bobby Rumore; two daughters and sons-in-law, Marie and Peter Licata and Diane and John Welch; five grandsons, Troy, Tim, Brett, Justin and Nathan; nine granddaughters, Melissa, Stephanie, Katie, Erin, Patience, Faith, Danielle, Bobbi Anne and Lauren; six great-grandchildren, Trent, Aubrey, Jessica, Hunter, Hanna and Junah; brother, Nelson Rumore; and two sisters, Amelia Register and Janie Goldtrap. He retired from Florida Dairy and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was an active member of Clair-Mel Assembly of God. A memorial service will be held at the church Monday, August 19, 2002 at 7 p.m. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services.
