(Vivian) Hocker, Tampa; mother, Theresa (Robert) Salvati, Crestline; brothers, Allen, Deke and Ben Hocker; sister, Rose Salvati; grandparents, Al Hocker, Bob and Ruth Johnston, Stella Salvati. Visitation Sun. Aug. 18, at the Mark A. Schneider Funeral Home, 3223 W. Main, Crestline, OH 44827. Mass of Christian Burial Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Crestline. Burial St. Joseph Cemetery, Crestline. Memorial contributions may be made for a scholarship to be established in his name in care of the funeral home.

SNEE, Virginia K., 91, of Seminole, died August 14, 2002. Survived by step-daughter; Jane Palmieri of Pittsburgh, Pa.; and cousin; Anna Lemasters of Missouri.

STEEVES, William Albert (Bill), died July 25, 2002 at home in Port Charlotte. Born in Ontario, Canada on January 22, 1910, he came to Florida with his parents in 1917 where he graduated from Landon High School in Jacksonville. He attended the Boston School of Art, and engaged in commercial are in New York city, including designing and creating a railway miniature for the 1938-39 World's Fair. He subsequently had art studio/galleries in Old Lyme, Conn., Richardson, Texas , and Ybor City in Tampa, operating the Call William Gallery on 7th Avenue for several years. For the past 10 years he has lived in Port Charlotte, Florida where he was active in the art community. He is survived by his brothers, Hartley of Port Charlotte and Richard of Jacksonville; as well as seven nephews and nieces, including Neva Sessums and Karen Morin of Tampa. Memorial services will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, August 23, at First United Methodist Church of Tampa, 1001 N. Florida Ave., where he was a member of the choir.

VALLES, Jr., Mr. Manuel, 85 years young, passed away of natural causes on Tuesday, August 13, 2002. Mr. Valles was born in Asturias, Spain and arrived in Tampa at the age of 6 with his parents, Manolo and Balbina Valles and brother, Ulysses. Mr. Valles received his Masters Degree from the University of Florida in Political Science. He served for 17 years as consultant to governments through the world for a nonprofit Chicago firm known as Public Administration Service who's objective was to work with governments in improving their administrative systems. Mr. Valles served in that capacity in locations such as Burma, Thailand, Brazil, Venezuela, El Salvador, Canada, as well as The United States and many others, too numerous to mention. Mr. Valles' position placed him in direct contact a nd personal communications with many Heads of State, Diplomats and Presidents. In 1974, upon his return to Tampa, he was appointed as The Executive Director of Civil Service for the City of Tampa, which he served for several years. He was then appointed to the position of Administrator for Hispanic Affairs at the Tampa Police Department and was directly responsible for the accreditation and nation al recognition of the Tampa Police Department. Mr. Valles was presented with a Commendation for this endeavor by then Chief of Police Don Newberger. Throughout his career Mr. Valles philosophy was `As an individual, it is my responsibility to help others develop themselves to the fullest extent.` Mr Valles was an avid golfer and a member of Innisbruck Golf and Country Club and the Temple Terrace G olf and Country Club. He was also a Director with the Egypt Shrine Divot Diggers Golf Club and a Kentucky Colonel. Manuel Valles is survived by his wife of 61 years, Zoila, of Temple Terrace; and brother-in-law, Paul Fernandez of Bethesda, Maryland; his personal friend and confidant, Henry Huerta, along with many other close friends, whom he shared his life with and admired. At Mr. Valles' request , there will be no services. His ashes will be interred at the Centro Asturiano Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made, in his honor, to the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute.

WHITLOW, William T., Jr., 75, of Tampa, passed away Thursday, August 15, 2002. He was born in Dunlap, Tenn. and was a Retired CMSGT from the US Air Force and a member of North Rome Baptist Church. He is survived by his son, Michael and wife, Jamie of Tampa; sisters, Mary Craig and Ruth Beavers of Tenn.; four grand-children; and two great-grand-children. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, August 20 at 11 a.m. at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Fla. with military Honors by MacDill Air Force Base.

HUNT, Iris Wilda, age 74, of Dade City, passed away August 17, 2002 in Dade City surrounded by her loving family. She was a long time member of the Dade City VFW Women Auxiliary. She worked at Lykes of Pasco for 21 years and was a member of Eastside/Grace Baptist Church of Dade City. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Virgil; and granddaughter, Ursala Carr. She is survived by sons, John R. of Charleston, S.C. and David L. of Indiantown, Fla.; daughters, Shelia Carr of Dade City, Fla., Linda Deering of Winter Haven, Fla. and Sharon Higginbotham of Dade City, Fla.; brother, Wallace Cason of Charlotte, N.C.; 15 grand-children; 25 great-grand-children; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 20 at Coleman & Ferguson Funeral Home in Dade City. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. Burial will follow the Funeral Service at Floral Memory Gardens in Dade City.

KETCHAM, Victor Herbert, Jr., 76, of Brooksville, Fla., went to be with the Lord Sunday, August 18, 2002 at his home. He is survived by his wife, Merle C. Ketcham of Brooksville, Fla.; one daughter, Susan Chandler; one son, Michael Ketcham; one sister, Sarah Story; four step-children, Myrna Garner, Kenneth Woods, Phillip Woods and Terrence Woods; eight grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; three great-grand children; and 10 step-great-grandchildren. He was born June 26, 1926 on Springdale Farms in Chester, Virginia, and moved to Brooksville four years ago from Zephyrhills, Fla. He was a retired Accountant and a World War II Army Veteran. He was an active and supporting member of the San Antonio Community Church. Funeral services will be held 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Hodges Family Funeral Home in Dade City. Friends may call 2 hours prior to service time from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions be sent to the San Antonio Community Church Building Fund.

RICE, Lauretta Tate, 60, of Dade City, passed away Saturday, August 17, 2002. She is survived by her husband, William; sons, William Wade of Dade City and Frank James of W.Va.; daughter, Lauretta Novak of San Antonio, Fla.; sisters, Joan Elizabeth Axtell of Corvallis, Mont. and Betty Buyle Raymond of Billings, Mont.; and eight grandchildren. Graveside funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 21, at 10:30 a.m. at Williams Cemetery in Dade City. No Calling hours are scheduled.

SEAMAN, Elizabeth, 85, of New Port Richey died August 18, 2002. Survived by husband, James E.; sons, James L. and John; sister, Gertrude Baker; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

ALFARAS, Esther Sabater, age 88, of Tampa, passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2002. Mrs. Alfaras, a retired piano school teacher, is survived by her four children, Rosa Guzman, Esther Sada, Carlos Alfaras and Ruben Alfaras; as well as by her 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday, 12 noon, August 19, 2002 at the Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4207 E. Lake Ave., with interment to follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the services at the funeral home

BOX, Martha Hotchkiss, 90, of Tampa, died August 15, 2002 at Memorial Hospital. She was born in San Diego, California and moved to Tampa in 1972 from Washington D.C. She is survived by her husband, Clyde Box; two daughters, Molly McGregor of Tampa and Jennifer Clark of Portland, Oregon; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Memorial Services will be held 11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 20, 2002 at St. John's Episcopal Church, 906 Orleans Avenue, Tampa, Florida. In lieu of flowers, kindly give to a charity of your choice.

EBERT, Teodora, `Doris`, 66, of Plant City died August 17, 2002 in Plant City. She was born in the Ukraine. She and her mother were taken captive by Hitler's troops after they killed her father. She was six years old when she was placed in a Catholic orphanage in Germany. She is survived by her adopted family, mother, Florence Keen; sister, Shelia and husband, Steve Baxley; nephew, Sean Hudson; and nieces, Taylane and Elani Hudson. She moved here from Madison, Wisconsin in 1981. She was a caregiver. Services will be Monday, August 20, 2002 at 3:30 p.m. in Shiloh Baptist Church. Interment will be in Mt. Enon Cemetery.

HALBERT, Kirby, 77, of Tampa since 1960, died at home August 16, 2002 of a brain tumor (a 29 month battle sustained by his faith in God). Born in Lowndes City, Miss., he attended schools in New Hope, Miss. and Carrollton, Ala. and settled in Pensacola, Fla. on discharge from the US Navy in 1945. Mr. Halbert served courageously in World War II as a medic in `A` Medical Co. with the 1st Marine Div. under enemy fire during the combat landing on Willaumez Peninsula, New Britain. He graduated from Gupton Jones College of Mortuary Science in Nashville, Tenn. in 1951; was on the Florida Highway Patrol from 1957 to 1960; served as a State Inspector for the Florida State Board of Embalmers and Funeral Directors; and was a dedicated licensed Fla. Funeral Director for 50 years, retiring in 2000 from Adams & Jennings Funeral Home. He is survived by his wife, Helen Halbert of Tampa; daughter, Margaret Haitmanek (Robert) of Kunkletown, Pa.; son, James M. Halbert of Scottsdale, Ariz.; two step-daughters, Valerie Murray (Michael) and Kathleen Starling; brother-in-law, Lou Freeman of Tampa; four step-grandchildren, Kaeley and Tristan Murray; Michelle and Christine Haitmanek; three nieces, one nephew and their children in Miss.; cousin, Lewis A. Halbert of Marianna, Fla.; and many loving friends. He was proud of his southern heritage and did an extensive study of his genealogy. He was a member of Suncoast Baptist Church; Lake City Lodge F&AM; charter member of the John Lesley Camp SCV, the SAR, MOSB, and The Society For Preservation of Early Country & Western Music. A Graveside Service will be held Wednesday, Aug. 21, at 11:00 a.m. at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Fla. with military Honors. The Family will receive friends Tuesday, Aug. 20 from 6 until 8 p.m. with a service at 7:30 p.m. with Dr. Lynn Sayne officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to LifePath Hospice Pearl Team, 3010 W. Azeele St., Tampa, FL 33609; H. HALL, Kerry N., 44, of Tampa, died Saturday, August 17, 2002 at his residence. He was born in Ypsilanti, Michigan and moved to Tampa in 1975 from Westland, Mich. He was a Senior Systems Architect for Verizon and of the Baptist faith. Kerry was a philanthropist and enjoyed the fine arts as well as landscaping and design. He is survived by his beloved schnauzer, Sammi; four brothers, Donald Carter of Kingsport, Tenn., Kenneth Hall of Bristol, Va., Donald Hall of Fairfield, Texas and Ernest Hall of Big Sky, Mont.; four sisters, Carol Hall and Diana Wright of Tampa, Fla., Prestina Counts and Mary Emmert of Bristol, Va.; devoted friend, Carter White; and many beloved nieces, nephews and great-nieces. He was preceded in death by his mother, Maxie Carter and sister, Kathy Hall. Funeral Servi ces will be held Wednesday morning at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Gonzalez Funeral Home with the Rev. John Gill, Pastor, King of Peace Metropolitan Community Church, officiating. Cremation will follow. HAYES, Velma Lee, passed away August 17, 2002 in Brandon. Born in Troupe, Texas , she was a schoolteacher and a Baptist. She is survived by a nephew, Barry Huggins; and close friends, Lawrence and Juanita Boully. Donations can be made to LifePath Hospice. Visitation will be August 20, 2002 at 9:00 a.m. with services to follow at 10:00 a.m. both at Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home.

JONES, Carol Jean, 62, of Thonotosassa, passed away August 16, 2002. Survivors include her husband, Frederick C. Jones; daughter and son-in-law, Colleen and Miguel Rosario; grandchildren, Rosabella Mia Faye and Miguel Angelo Rosario; brother, Larry Angst; sister, Joyce Hillard; half-sisters, Jeannie, Terry, Maryland and Mary; and a step-brother and step-sister, Robbie and Paula. Mrs. Jones was born in Hamilton, Ohio and had resided in this area since 1971. She was a member of the University Church of God, was a contributor and volunteer with World Vision and other childrens' causes and was always there for anyone that needed her. She had worked as a telemarketer. The family will receive friends at the Garden of Memories Chapel, 4207 E. Lake Ave., from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday evening. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 2 p.m. Tuesday with her Pastor, David Nitz, officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery.

KEITH, June E., 77, of Largo, died August 16, 2002. Survived by husband of 56 years, Harry; sister, Virginia Forster; one niece; and one nephew.

KIDWELL, Lorraine C., 84, of Nobelton, passed away on August 15, 2002. She was a bookkeeper, a Protestant, and an avid fan and friend of the Blue Grass Group, out of Ruskin. She is survived by her daughters, Paulette King and husband, Royce and Joanne Radcliffe and husband, Bill; sister, Hannah Lee Randall; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Visitation will be held at Hillsboro Memorial F.H. on Monday August 19, at 1 p.m. with a 2 p.m. service to follow.

MAYWORTH, Robert H., 80, beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, died August 17, 2002 after a long illness. Survived by Erin, his wife of 55 years; daughter, Elizabeth Burke of St. Petersburg; son, Robert H. Jr. of Greensboro, N.C.; brother, John W. Mayworth of Sebring; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and loving family and friends. Robert was predeceased by his son, Paul Wallace and grandson, Adam Robert. He served in the Coast Guard in World War II and was a partner and skilled cabinet maker at Mayworth Showcase Works, the firm established in Tampa by his father. He was a faithful member of the House of Prayer Episcopal Church all his life. Funeral services will be at St. James House of Prayer Episcopal Church, 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 20. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. James House of Prayer will be gratefully received.

MOORE, Odell T., age 92, of Ft. Pierce, Fla, formerly of Tampa, passed away Wednesday, August 14, 2002. Survivors include her daughter, Frances Turner Cothron and her husband, James of Ft. Pierce, Fla.; grandson, Stephen A. Elliott of Tampa; granddaughters, Monica Elliott Melton of Tampa and Sirina M. Elliott of Los Angeles, Calif.; great-granddaughter, Krystal Elliott of Tampa; great-great-granddaughter, Heather Baker of Tampa; and sister, Rumania Hilton of Jacksonville, Fla. Mrs. Moore worked for Pioneer Telephone Company, which later became GTE, from 1942 until her retirement in 1975. She was a loyal member of IBEW Local #1285 from 1943 until 1963 when they merged and became Local #841. She remained an active union member until her retirement. Funeral services will be held Tuesday mo rning 10:00 a.m., August 20, 2002 at the Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4207 E. Lake Ave., with entombment to follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
