O'QUINN, Mary T., 85, of Tampa, loving mother and grandmother, passed away August 16, 2002. Mrs. O'Quinn was predeceased by her loving husband, Sam. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jennie and Gilbert Gulick; son, George O'Quinn; grandsons and wives, Gil and Gay Gulick, and Gregory and Jamie Gulick; and numerous nieces and nephews. Born in Charlotte, N.C., she moved to Tampa in 1956 and has been an active member of Seminole Heights Baptist Church since then. She has also been active in Bible Study Fellowship for 17 years, 13 of those as a discussion leader. A church service to celebrate her life will be held Tuesday, Aug. 20 at 10:00 a.m., at Bayshore Baptist Church. Flowers will be accepted, but those wishing may make donations to the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship o f Florida, PO Box 2556, Lakeland, FL 33806 or Moffitt Cancer Center Foundation, 12902 Magnolia Dr., Tampa, FL 33612. PERLMUTTER, Gertrude L., passed away August 18, 2002. She was born in Manhattan on January 12, 1921 and lived in the New York metropolitan area, Tampa, Florida and the Washington metropolitan area. She was a homemaker, real estate agent and business person. She is survived by her son, Richard; daughter-in-law, Donna; and grandchildren, Marissa and Jared Perlmutter. Funeral services will be held at the New Montefiore Cemetery in Pinelawn, New York on August 20, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. Gifts in her memory may be sent to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 6931 Arlington Road, Bethesda, Maryland 20814.

VALDES, Dalia F., age 82, of Tampa, passed away August 17, 2002. A native and lifelong resident of Tampa, Mrs. Valdes was retired from Sears after over 30 years of service. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Anthony P. Valdes, Jr. and was of the Catholic Faith. Survivors include her husband, Rene R. Valdes; sons, Anthony P. Valdes and wife, Nydia and Rene D. Valdes and wife, Rosemary S.; sisters, Margaret Valdes and Violet Mugueles; grandchildren, Terri Haag, Christopher, Regan M. and Robyn Valdes; niece and godchild, Sandra Valdes; and several other loving nieces and nephews. Catholic Funeral Services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. from the chapel of Gonzalez Funeral Home with interment to follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends this evening (Monday) from 7 to 9 p.m. with recitation of the Catholic Wake Rite to begin at 7:15 p.m. at the chapel of GONZALEZ FUNERAL HOME

HUNT, Iris Wilda, age 74, of Dade City, passed away August 17, 2002 in Dade City surrounded by her loving family. She was a long time member of the Dade City VFW Women Auxiliary. She worked at Lykes of Pasco for 21 years and was a member of Eastside/Grace Baptist Church of Dade City. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Virgil; and granddaughter, Ursula Carr. She is survived by sons, John R. of Charleston, S.C. and David L. of Indiantown, Fla.; daughters, Sheila Carr of Dade City, Fla., Linda Deering of Winter Haven, Fla. and Sharon Higginbotham of Dade City, Fla.; brother, Wallace Cason of Charlotte, N.C.; 15 grand-children; 25 great-grand-children; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 20 at Coleman & Ferguson Funeral Home in Dade City. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. Burial will follow the Funeral Service at Floral Memory Gardens in Dade City.

SPARKMAN, Seth, 84, of Dade City, died Monday, August 19, 2002 at Hernando-Pasco Hospice Care Center in Dade City. He moved here in 1926 from his native McShan, Alabama. He was retired from Evans Packing Company and had worked for Lykes-Pasco for 32 years previously. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dade City, the Dade City Masonic Lodge #48 and the Shriner's. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Sadie; two daughters, Linda Stanley and her husband, Ronald of Wesley Chapel and Diane Sparkman of Wesley Chapel; four sisters, Frances Sparkman, Glenna Sparkman, Dorothy Reethof and Mary Elizabeth Fallin and her husband, Sam, all of Dade City; two nieces, Mary Epperson of Lutz and Lea Thomas of San Antonio; and a nephew, Evans Fallin of Fernandina Beach, FL. The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 22, 2002 from 6-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Graveside funeral services will be held at Dade City Cemetery at 10 a.m. on Friday, August 23, 2002 with Reverend Rainey Council officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to Hernando-Pasco Hospice 37300 Royal Oak lane, Dade City, FL 33525.

CLINE, Billy R., 49, of Spring Hill, died Friday, Aug. 16, 2002, at his home after aa long battle with cancer. He ws the owner of Buccaneer Excavating, Inc. and was loved by his family and friends, as well as his business associates and employees. He is survived by his wife, Nikki; four sons, Bryon, William, Carl and Eddie; his mother, Janice Cline, and sister, Patricia Cline, residing in Huntington, W.Va. He has a brother, Jimmy, in Brookville, Ohio and a brother, Keith in Tampa, Fla. His foster parents, Wayne and Erva Prevatt, and foster sister, Debbie Ridge, reside in Spring Hill, Fla. He has 11 gandchildren. A small memorial will be held for the family at his home on Saturday, August 24. In lieu of flowers, a donation to Hernando-Pasco Hospice in Billy's name would be greatly appreciated.

COAKLEY, Kathleen H., 45, passed away August 17, 2002 after a valiant struggle against cancer. She was lovingly cared for by LifePath Hospice during her illness. She was born in San Francisco. In recent years, she resided in Phoenix, Ariz. She previously resided in Boston, Mass., and Charleston, S.C. She was a graduate of Fairfield University, Fairfield, Conn. and had been employed as a graphic artist, photographer, and in the hospitality industry. She is survived by her parents, Dolores and Gerald Coakley of Tampa, Fla.; sister, Maureen Wielgus and husband, Wayne of Potomac, Md.; sister, Patricia Reyher and husband, Christopher of Oak Park, Ill.; brother, Gerry Coakley and wife, Deborah of Lutz, Fla.; brothers, John Coakley of Plant City, Fla. and Kevin Coakley of Boulder, Colo. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. A Private Memorial Service will be observed by her family. In lieu of flowers, it is requested that any donations be provided to Life Path Hospice, 3010 W. Azeele St., Tampa, FL or the American Cancer Society.

She is survived by her sons, Leonides Felix Jr., Luis Morrero, Jose Felix and Stephen Felix; daughters, Juanita Rivera and Victoria Gonzalez; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Rafael Miranda; and sisters, Alicia and Millie Miranda. Mrs. Felix was born in Catano, Puerto Rico and had resided in in this area for the past 26 years. The family will receive friends at the Garden Of Memories Chapel, 4207 E. Lake Ave., from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Wednesday morning. Interment will follow in the Myrtle Hill Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Leonides Felix Jr., Jose Felix, Joey Pizarro II, Luis Morrero, Nestor Arzola and Arnaldo Arzola. Stephen Felix will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
