CRANDELL, Naomi, age 99, of Hayesville, N.C., died Sunday, August 18, 2002 at her home. She was the daughter of the late, John Warner and Anna Ferriss Lamberson. She is survived by two daughters, Sara Nosti of Hayesville, N.C. and Rachel Nellis of Punta Gorda, Fla.; five grandchildren, Diana Gentry, Martha Sue Monald, Jennie Shaver, Leah Nellis, and Daniel Nellis; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She resided many years in Tampa, Florida and was active in Manhattan Avenue Methodist Church, Seminole Business and Professional Women's Club, Order of the Eastern Star and the American Legion Auxiliary. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Tampa, Fla.

He is survived by his children, Tichika, Annette, Cedrick and Derrick; step-children, Carletta, Wesley, Whitney and Trevor; brothers, Flauzy and Rose Harris, Eddie and Louise Lovejoy; sisters, Johnnie Mae and Rudolph Mitchell, Janice and Curtis Duncan, Janie and Darryl Cobb; mother, Mayliza Potham. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home Thursday at 3:30 p.m. with Visitation from 2-3:30 p.m.

EDWARDS, Rev. W. Lee, 73, of Tampa, passed away Monday, August 19, 2002. He is survived by his wife, Peggy Edwards; two daughters, Patricia Edwards and Pamela Moore; four brothers, N.C. Edwards, Kermit Edwards, David Edwards and Ronald Edwards; four sisters, Lillie Niemotka, Ruby Schrum, Edna Huckins and Geraldine Robbins; and four grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 7 p.m. Thursday. The family will receive friends one hour prior. A Final service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at Peninsula Funeral Home, Newport News, Va. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center, 12902 Magnolia Dr., Tampa, FL 33612.

KIRBY, Robert `Bob` E., Sr., 63, of Seffner, Fla. passed away Saturday, August 17, 2002. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Karen; five sons, Robert Kirby, Jr., Luther Kirby, David Kirby, Dale Kirby, and Jeff Hall; two daughters, Lynn Griggs and Vonda Hall; a brother, William Kirby; a sister, Tamara Kirby; and 14 grand-children. He was a lifelong resident of the Tampa Bay area and an Army Veteran.

MALECKI, John F., of Tampa, passed away Sunday, August 18, 2002. He came to Tampa in 1973 from his native Minneapolis, Minn. A career pilot, he was employed for the last six years at Flight Safety International in Lakeland as a flight simulator instructor and ground instructor. He volunteered a lot of his free time to the FAA for the `Safer Skies Program`. During his six years in the Marine Corps, he was a test pilot and flew the A6 (Intruder) in Vietnam. He was awarded with a Purple Heart, Silver Star, and Top Gun of 1969. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Patricia; sons, James, Craig, Matthew; and sister, Carol Busch, San Diego. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, August 23, at Incarnation Catholic Church, 8220 W. Hillsborough Avenue, Tampa. Inurnment will follow at Bay Pines Veterans Cemetery, 1000 Bay Pines Blvd., St. Petersburg.

MOELLER, Dolores B. `Murph` , 65, died Aug. 18, 2002 in Jacksonville, Fla. Born on Feb. 11, 1937 in Park Ridge, Ill., Mrs. Moeller was an executive secretary and of the Christian faith. Survivors include her brother, Dr. Joseph Murphy; sister, Therese Stecz; sister-in-law, Shirley A. Murphy; brother-in-law, Raymond Eiden, Sr.; and many nieces and nephews. Private services will be held in Jacksonville Beach, Fla. at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home.

MOFFATT, Fr. Timothy T.O.R., 70, of Tampa passed away Monday, August 19, 2002. He is preceded in death by his parents, Timothy Moffatt and Catherine Walsh Moffatt. He is survived by his sister, Ann Scarpa and her husband Ralph of Ridgefield, N.J. He served with U. S. Army in the Signal Corps as a Spec 4 from 1953 until 1955. A native of Bronx, N.Y., Fr. Moffatt was Ordained as a Priest at Cathedral of Blessed Sacrament, Altoona, Pa., on, May 19, 1966. He received his Master degree from La Salle College in Philadelphia, Pa., in 1966. After many years of service in the Catholic community, he was assigned to Christ the King Catholic Church in Tampa, on November 01, 1990. A funeral Mass will be concelebrated 10 a.m. Thursday, August 22, 2002 at Christ the King Catholic Church. Visitation will be held Wednesday (today) August 21, 2002 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the church.

REISMANN, Mary E. `Big Mary`, 80, of Tampa, died Aug. 19, 2002. Born in Wilmington, Delaware, she came here 39 years ago from Pennsylvania . Before retirement she owned `Big Mary's Place` on Franklin Street in Tampa. She is survived by her son, Joe DiAmicis of Bedia, Texas ; and her daughter, Virginia `Ginnie` Morris of Tampa. At her request, she was cremated and scattered over the Gulf waters with her husband, Frank.

SCHANEN, Audrey J., 82, of Sun City Center died Aug. 19, 2002. Surviving are her husband; three daughters; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

SLACTER, Richard H., 79, of Clearwater and former resident of Tampa, died Sunday, August 18, 2002 at Mariner Health Care of Clearwater. Born in Minneapolis, Minn., he moved to Florida in 1970. He is a retired investor, was a member of Temple B'Nai Israel, Clearwater, a World War II Army veteran, a member of Egypt Temple Shrine, Tampa, a member of the Suncoast Mustang Club and past president, a member of the Antique Automobile Club, and American Legion, Indiana . He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Joan of Clearwater; son, Victor E. of Bradenton; daughter, Ricki P.S. Kanter of McLean, Va.; a brother, Alan W. of Plymouth, Minn.; and five grandchildren, Alexandra Slacter, Derek Dobson, Jeremy Kanter, Daniel Kanter and Laura Kanter. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m., today, Au gust 21, 2002 at Temple B'Nai Israel, Clearwater. Burial to follow at Curlew Hills Memory Gardens, Palm Harbor. A native of Cien Fuegos, Cuba and resident of Tampa since 1938, Mrs. Torre was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and is survived by her husband, Julian F. Torre; son, Art J. Torre; daughter, Patricia T. Gaggi and husband, Silvio; grandchildren, Justin Paul Torre, Marisa Gaggi and Olivia Gaggi; brother, Antonio Ysada; and sister, Liria Demmi. Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Gonzalez Funeral Home, with entombment to follow in Centro Asturiano Memorial Park Mausoleum. TRIPP, Kim Jerome, 47, of Tampa, Fla., passed away August 8, 2002. He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Bobbett Tripp; sons, Joshua and Justin; daughter, Jennifer; sister and brother-in-law, Diane and Larry Tellus, and Darrell. He will be sadly missed by all.

VACCARO, Saverio, 71, of Tampa, passed away August 20, 2002 in Tampa. Born February 21, 1931 in Ribera, Italy, the son of the late Joseph and Marianna Vaccaro. Mr. Vaccaro was a former restaurant owner and a 21 year area resident. Survivors include his loving wife, Fannie Vaccaro; a daughter, Laura Vaccaro of Tampa; a son, Joseph P. Vaccaro of Tampa; a brother, Jack Vaccaro of Naples, Fla.; and three grandchildren. Visitation will be held Thursday, August 22 from 12 noon to 2:00 p.m. at Trinity Memorial Funeral Home, SR 54, New Port Richey. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. Entombment will take place at Trinity Memorial Gardens Mausoleum immediately following the service.

COATES, Robert H., 87, passed away August 17, 2002. Survived by his wife, Ruth E. Coates of Zephyrhills; a son, Robert D. and Diane Coates of New Orleans, La.; two daughters, Janet and Ralph Venditti of Cleveland, Ohio and Carolyn Christopher and Bill Gasiorowski of Ann Arbor, Mich.; and three grandchildren, Jennifer May, Christopher S. Coates and Robert C. Coates. Mr. Coates was a Veteran of the Navy serving in World War II. He was also the past treasurer of the Town of North Royalton, the Methodist Church and also for the Boy Scouts, and a member of the F&AM. He worked 15 years doing Income Tax for A.A.R.P. He came to this area 21 years ago from North Royalton, Ohio.

Survived by his wife, Carol of Zephyrhills; four daughters, Rebecca Bishop of Brunswick, Ohio, Joanne Ward of Fairfield, Calif., Helen Hoover of White Lake, Mich. and Catherine Guiliano of Bratt, Fla.; four sons, James Cotter of White Lake, Mich., Adrian G. Cotter III of Waterford, Mich., Arthur Cotter of St. Joseph, Mich. and Christopher Mains of Toronto, Canada; and seven grandchildren. Mr. Cotter was a veteran of the Navy serving in World War II. He moved to the Zephyrhills area six years ago from Bowling Green, Fla. and was a Catholic.

SCHULTZ, Gertrude M., 72, passed away August 17, 2002 in Zephyrhills. Survived by her two daughters, Susan Hatfield of Liberty, Ky., and Sandra Emery of Chicago, Ill.; a son, William R. Schultz of Zephyrhills; six grandchildren, Christy, William, Rosie, Raymond, Jack and Raina; two great-grandchildren, Tyler and Joey; a brother, Vito Perricci of Minneapolis, Minn.; several nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a daughter, Mary Ellen Schultz; a son, Richard Schultz; and a sister, Sharon Jones. Services will be held 10 a.m., Friday, August 23, 2002 at Our Savior Lutheran Church, with Rev. Clarence Reinke Jr. officiating. Born February 16, 1930 in Park Rapids, Minn., Mrs. Schultz was a Telephone Operator for AT&T, a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church, and a Choir member, Sunday School Teacher, Church Treasurer and Secretary, and also a Volunteer for Hernando-Pasco Hospice.
