NAEHRING, Lois Joan, 74, passed away peacefully at home on August 23, 2002. Lois was born on September 30, 1927 in Columbus, Ohio to John and Flossie Cheeseman. She moved to Tampa, Florida in 1970. Lois is survived by her caring husband of 54 years, Douglas Carl Emerson Naehring; her daughter, Linda K. Carson and husband, Dale and their children, Amanda, Grant and Audrey o f Boulder, Colorado; her daughter, Jackie J. Allman and husband, Brian and their children, Laura and Neil of Tampa, Florida; her daughter, Carel N. Hurless and her sons, Nicholaus and Timmy of Tampa, Florida; and her four siblings, Harriet Wilcox, Janet Armentrout, Jane Denig and Jack Cheeseman of Columbus, Ohio. She enjoyed travelling with Doug in their RV. She was an avid bridge player, loved to dance and play the piano. We will miss her love and her good sense of humor. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice in her name.

He is survived by his parents, Sidney and Lois Nave; a brother, Bobby Nave; a sister, Brenda Smith; his aunt and uncle, Judy and Doug Bailey; and Christina Brumitt. Funeral services for Mr. Nave will be held Wednesday, August 28, 2002 at 3:00 p.m. in Hopewell Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Hopewell Memorial Gardens. PINES, Eva Lorences , age 81, of Tampa, passed away August 25, 2002. A native and lifelong resident of Tampa, Mrs. Pines was retired after 38 years of service as supervisor with the Hillsborough Co. Clerk of the Circuit Court Criminal Division. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Willie Pines and is survived by her daughter, Rosemary P. Garcia and husband, Frank H. Garcia; grandchildren, Julie Ann Utley, Valerie Ann Mallory and Willie F. Garcia; great-grandchildren, Jenna, Dana and Adam; and several loving nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday morning at 11 o'clock from the chapel of Gonzalez Funeral Home with entombment to follow in Centro Asturiano Memorial Park Mausoleum. REICHENBERG, William A., 82, of Palm Harbor, died August 24, 2002 in Palm Harbor. He was the husband of Elaine A. (Landry) Reichenberg. He had been a resident of Palm Harbor since 1981 formerly residing in Rhode Island. Mr. Reichenberg was employed with the former Narragansett Brewery in Cranston, retiring in 1980. He was a World War II Army veteran. He received the Purple Heart for wounds sustained at Anzio Beachead in Italy. He was a member of the Tampa Lodge of Elks and the Clearwater Yacht Club. Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Cynthia Baute of Rhode Island; two brothers, Kenneth Reichenberg and Frank Reichenberg; one sister, Marjorie Lyons, all of Mass.; two granddaughters; and one great-grandson. Funeral Services were held August 24, 2002 in Rhode Island. Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Chapel, Warwick, Rhode Island.

TAMBORELLO, Sam, Sr.,87, passed away on Friday, August 23, 2002. He was preceded in death by his wife, Grace Tamborello. Survivors include his two daughters, Emma Lena Manicchia and Rose Marie Varos; son, Sam, Jr.; sister, Rose Woodcock; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. A native of Tampa, Mr. Tamborello was owner and operator of `Tamborello Service Station`. He was a DE builder of destroyers and battleships during World War II. He retired as a mechanic from Avis after more than 20 years of service. He was a member of the Italian Club of Tampa and St. Lawrence Catholic Church. A Funeral Mass for the repose of his soul will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 27, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church with celebrant Msg. Laurence E. Higgins. Interment rites will follow at Centro Asturiano Memorial Park. Family will receive friends on Monday from 6-8 p.m. with a wake rite at 7:00 p.m. at

VALDES, Oscar, 79, lifelong Tampa resident, passed away on August 24, 2002. Mr. Valdes has traveled on ahead to be with other family members in Heaven. He is survived by his sister, Lucy Hawrsk; nephew, John Hawrsk; nieces, Janice Kritikos, Susan Hawrsk and Dale Bertoni; and other loving family members. Mr. Valdes was a Veteran of World War II where he fought at Normandy Beach and served in the Merchant Marine. He also retired from the Hillsborough County School System. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 28, 2002 in Myrtle Hill Memorial Park.

AKINS, Gary LV., 51, passed away Saturday, August 24, 2002 at Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point. Born in Fort Bragg, N.C., he moved to Florida 27 years ago from Denver, Colorado. He was a retired Special Agent for Law Enforcement and was a member of Roy Hobbs Baseball League and the Appraisal Institute of Florida. He was an avid golfer and boater and was devoted to his wife, family, work (retired), loved people and was always generous with his time and talent, etc. He is survived by hiw wife, Jennifer of Hudson; two sons, Daniel Akins of Hudson and Stephen Akins of Seffner; one daughter, Michelle Akins of Brandon; one brother, Rickey Akins of Hudson; grandmother, Annie Russ and mother, Earline Akins, both of Bladenboro, N.C.; and father, Bill, and step-mother, Deanna Akins of Port Richey. ANGLADO, James E., of Tampa, passed away Saturday, Aug. 24, 2002. He was a native of Biloxi, Miss.; a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II; and was active in the auto industry in sales and management positions. Survivors include his wife, Betty Hagin; two daughters, Patricia Ann Anglado and Rhonda Costley; brother, Pete; sisters, Verna Peppler, Vera Anderson and Mary Gillispie; four grand-children, John League, Micah Noland, Beth Livesay and Christine Corliss; and 13 nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning, Aug. 28, at 10 a.m. at the Glass Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. BASTON, Ralph Edge, 83, went home to be with the Lord August 26, 2002. He was born in New Brockton, Ala. on November 11, 1918, and moved to Plant City when he was eleven years of age. He is preceded in death by his son, Dennis; and mother, Era Watkins. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Opal `LaVerne` Baston; son, Oran Wade Baston; sister, Mavis Evers; brother, Herbert Watkins; three grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. He was a member of the Eastside Baptist Church in Plant City. He retired from TECO in 1979 as a collector. Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 27, 2002 at 7 p.m. at Eastside Baptist Church on Calhoun Street. The family will receive friends one hour before services. In lieu of flowers family requests donations be made to the Carpet Fund of Eastside Baptist Church in Mr. Baston's name.

She is survived by her daughter, Melinda Warren; grandson, Paul Warren; five great-grandchildren, Ian, Tyler, Cierra, and Anthony Warren, and Micah Castellano; three nieces, Slyvia Martinez, Julie Cacciatore, and Martha Menendez; two nephews, Domenick Chillura, and Domenick Traina Jr. A graveside service will be held in Myrtle Hill Memorial Park Wednesday, August 28, 2002 at 10 a.m. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. with recitation of the Catholic Wake Rite at 7:30 p.m.

CHANEY, Rev. Philip, 76, of Tampa, died Friday, August 23, 2002 in Tampa. He is survived by a sister and a half brother. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the Coleman & Ferguson Funeral Home in Dade City. Burial will follow at the Florida National Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to service time.

CROMWELL, Rev. John W., 81, of Brandon, Fla. passed away Monday, August 26, 2002. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Sally Barbara Cromwell and his wife of eight years, Perinda A. Cromwell. He is survived by three sons, John W. Cromwell, Jr. of Brandon, Fla, Stephen J. Cromwell of Bridgeport, W. Va. and David A. Cromwell of Auburndale, Fla.; one daughter, Nancy J. Deemer of Weirton W.Va.; one brother, Arthur H. Cromwell of Columbus, Ohio; 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A native of Huntington, W.Va. he lived in the area since January, 1986 coming from Weirton, W.Va. He was a member of the Southside Baptist Church of Brandon. He was pastor of the First Baptist Church of Weirton, Weirton, W.Va. for 20 years where he retired from the ministry in 1986. He was a graduate of Bob Jones University and Northern Baptist Seminary where he received his Master of Divinity Degree. He was also a World War II Army Veteran. The family will receive friends Tuesday (today) August 27, 2002 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Stowers Brandon Chapel. There will also be a memorial service and visitation in Weirton, W.Va. and internment will follow in Huntington, W.Va. In lieu of flowers those who wish may make a contribution to the Southside Baptist Church of Brandon.

DIPIERO, Dante J., `Dan`, 83, passed away August 23, 2002 at home. Born in Youngstown, Ohio, he moved to Tampa in 1980. Survivors include his loving wife of 28 years, Rosemarie; sons, Donald E. Swadener, Jr., Timothy J. Swadener and Andrea Kaplan and Terrence Lee Swadener, Sr.; daughter, Renee Gallagher and husband Patrick; sisters, Gilda DiPiero, Ida DiPiero, Dina DiPiero and Clara Jones; grandchildren, Matthew Swadener, Desiree Swadener, Terrence Lee Swadener, Jr., Kevin Dante Swadener, Shawna Gallagher and Megan Renee Gallagher; great-grandson, Dominic Gallagher. Mr. DiPiero was a member of Incarnation Catholic Church and was a retired Foreman from the Erie-Lackawanna Railroad. He was a US Army Veteran of World War II being awarded two Bronze Stars. Mr. DiPiero was an avid bowler, a member of the Senior Stars, American Legion and the Elks. He was a devoted and loving husband and father. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 28, 2002 at the Town & Country Chapel of Mark III Funeral Home with a Wake service at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, August 29, 2002 at Incarnation Catholic Church. Interment will follow at a later date to Florid a National Cemetery in Bushnell, Fla. with full military honors. FLEMING, Jeanette L., 76, of Sun City Center, formerly of Detroit, Mich. and Ellenton, Fla., died Aug. 24, 2002. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Hugh; two sisters, Mary Toparcean of New Port Richey, Fla., and Julia Betts of Livonia, Mich. She retired after 32 years with the Detroit Edison Utility Co.; and was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church. FLOYD, Joyce Maxwell, age 76, of Clearwater passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, August 25, 2002. Survivors include her husband of 54 years and best friend, Alton P. Floyd; sons, Ronald P. Floyd and his wife Diane of Clearwater, and Douglas C. Floyd and his wife Sarah of Tampa; six grandchildren, Scott, Erin, Ryan, Daniel, Michael, and Jennifer. Mrs. Floyd was a volunteer with the Girl Scout Suncoast Council and Clearwater Marine Science Center. She was active in the Garden Club of both Clearwater and Tampa and an active Realtor in Clearwater and Tampa for many years. Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning, August 28, 2002, 10 a.m. at the Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4207 E. Lake Ave., with the Pastor David Landers of the Heritage United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Joyce shared a love of art and was a light house and marine creatures artist. She was a retired Certified Dental Assistant. She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Friday, August 30, 2002 at Christ the King Catholic Church. Internment will follow at Myrtle Hill Memorial Park. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers those who wish may contribute to the charity of choice.

McGEE, Sr., Billy H., went to be with the Lord on August 25, 2002. Born in Copper Hill, Tennessee he lived most of his life in Tampa. He is survived by his wife, Gladys McGee; two daughters, Carolyn McGee and Diana Drennon; two sons, Billy McGee, Jr. and wife Abby, and Kenny McGee and wife Annora; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; also Buttons and Millie. He was a proud man and loved by many, he will be dearly missed. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 28, 2002, 2 p.m. at the funeral home where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery.

McLANE, Alan Sheppard, died August 22, 2002 at Mineral Community Hospital in Superior, Mont. He was born in Brandon, Fla., in 1934 to E.F. McLane and Laura Floyd McLane. He is survived by his wife, Lois; daughter, Helen Rene McLane and son-in-law Thomas Lewis Mele and grandsons Daniel McLane Mele and Cameron McLane Mele of Maitland, Fla.; son, Bruce Kraig McLane and daughter-in-law Diane Rodgers of St. Augustine, Fla.; and brothers, Frank and Ted McLane of the Tampa Bay area. Alan was a history teacher for two years at Palatka Jr. High School, a social studies teacher for twenty-one years at Leto Comprehensive High School, and a teacher for six years at the MacFarlane Center. He retired from teaching in 1993. Prior to teaching, he worked for Montana Power, State Farm Insurance, and Fl orida State Insurance Commission. He was an active member of the Hillsborough County Classroom Teachers Association, the FEA, and the NEA. He recently worked with NEA Member Care Long-Term Care Insurance Program. He was president of HEAR, Hillsborough Educators Association-Retired. Alan had worked hard in many campaigns for democratic candidates. He had strong political convictions. The family wis hes to thank all who helped: the EMS of Mineral County, Mont., and the hospital staff of Mineral Community Hospital, Superior, Mont. In lieu of flowers, please give to your favorite charity or the National Parks Foundation. A small family viewing was held in Missoula, Mont., before cremation. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at the Lutheran Church of Our Savior, 8401 W. Hillsborough Ave., Tampa, Fla., between 4 and 6 p.m. on Saturday, August 31, 2002.

MERCER, Pauline, 79, of Spring Hill, Fla., passed away peacefully Saturday, August 24, 2002 at her residence. She was born in Lyons County, Ga. and then moved to Spring Hill. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 52 years, Benjamin F. Mercer; and a grandson, Donald H. Mercer. She is survived by son, Dennis and wife, Theresia Mercer of Spring Hill; sister, Bea Kirkland of Tampa; grandchildren, Linda and husband, Johnny Bigger, and Susan Touchston; and five great-grandchildren, Amanda, Jennifer, Stephanie, Johnny, and Kelsi. The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 27, from 6-8:00 p.m. at the Loyless Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside service will be on Wednesday, August 28, at 10:00 a.m. at the Fivay Cemetery on Kent Grove Road in Spring Hill.
