STEELE, Bert Irving Latimer, 84, of Tampa passed away August 26, 2002. Mr. Steele was born in Erie, Pa., and earned his AB at the University Of Pennsylvania in Industrial Psychology and Personnel Management. He furthered his formal education with the Executive Management Program at Penn State University. Mr. Steele spent four years in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II, serving in the N. Africa, Malta, Si cily, Italy, China, Burma and India theaters. He retired after 32 years with General Telephone and Electronics (GTE) where he was Corporate Vice President-Human Resources for total Telephone Operations. He was Past National President of the Independent Telephone Pioneers Assoc. and was inducted into the California State Hall Of Fame for telephone people in 1986. Mr. Steele was Past President and Director of the American Society for Personnel Administration, N.W. Pennsylvania Chapter and Southern Conn. Chapter. He was Past President of the Hillside Boulevard Neighborhood Assoc., Erie, Pa., and Stillwater Neighborhood Assoc in Stamford, Connecticut. His memberships included Keystone Lodge #455 F&AM and the Scottish Rite in Erie, Pa., Egypt Shrine in Tampa, Fla., ITPA Board Of Directors, ITP A Hall of Fame Committee, was Trustee of the ITPA Historical Museum and Hall of Fame Foundation where he held the lifetime title of Director Emeritus. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Tampa since 1981 where he has served as a Deacon, Church Council member, Chairman of the Property Committee and Chairman of the Church Senior Group. Other activities included efforts with the Chamber of Co mmerce, United Fund Campaign, Director Conn. Capers Club and Cub Scout Chairman in Stamford, Connecticut. Mr. Steele enjoyed traveling with his wife of 53 yrs. to many countries and presented slide programs of their travels to many groups. He was an honorable, honest man who was devoted to his family, his church, his work, his friends and his country. His oil painting hobby was a source of pleasur e to him, his family and friends. Mr. Steele is survived by his wife, Emma Klemm Steele; two daughters, Diane Steele Brown and Cynthia A. Steele; a son, David B. Steele; his grandchildren, Jordan and Jessica Brown and Christopher and Erika Steele; two sisters-in-law, Sally Steele and Lillian Green; a niece, Kathy Frey and nephews, James Richard and Bert Steele. Funeral services will be held at the Grace Lutheran Church, 3714 W. Linebaugh Ave., at 1 p.m. Friday afternoon, August 30, 2002, with Rev. John Hillmer, officiating. Interment with military Honors will follow in the Garden Of Memories Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from Noon Friday until time of service.

WIGGINS, Escine G., 91, of Tampa passed away August 26, 2002. She was born in Ensley (Birmingham), Alabama and was a resident of Tampa since 1965 coming from New York. She is survived by two sons, John N. Samaha, Jr. of St. Petersburg and Lawrence H. Samaha of Tampa; one daughter, June Hamra of Springfield, Missouri; eleven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held 4 p.m. Friday, August 30th at St. John's Episcopal Church, 902 S. Orleans. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations may be made to `At Home With Friends`, 3720 Bay to Bay Blvd., Tampa, FL 33629, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, c/o Memorial & Honor Program, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

WILLIAMS, Leila S., 65, of Tampa, died August 22, 2002. She is survived by six daughters; one son; 15 grandsons; seven granddaughters; 23 great-grandchildren; and one sister.

WOOD, Betty L., 78, of Tampa, passed away Monday, August 26, 2002. Survivors include her four nephews; three nieces; and 13 great-nieces and great-nephews.

ZEMETRES, Lydia, 57, of Tampa, died Monday, Aug. 26, 2002 at her home. Survivors include two brothers, Ronald E. Zemetres of Lutz, Fla., and William B. Zemetres of Pelham, N.H.; two sisters, Julie Jean of Dracut, Mass., and Ruth Ann Zemetres of Pelham, N.H.; five nephews, Aaron, Christian, Scott, and Logan Zemetres, and David Jean; and three nieces, Jacqueline, Rachel and Sara Zemetres. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. George Brooks of River Of Life Church officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time.

CROMARTIE, Lillie C., 72, of Dade City, died Friday, August 23, 2002 at her home. She is survived by one sister and brother-in-law, Laura Mae and Willie James Thinn of Marianna, Fla.; one brother, Charles Nix of Dade City; two nephews, Leo Gray and wife, Betty of Ocala and Charles Nix and wife, Cassandra of Ocala; and a niece, Gloria Nix of Dade City. A native of Marianna, Fla., she had been a resident of Dade City for 50 years. She was a member of the Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church and had retired from the Ben Hill Griffin Citrus Company. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church with Pastor Bryant A. Fayson officiating. Burial will follow at Floral Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday at the Coleman & Ferguson Funeral Home in Dade City.

DeBONIS, Filomena, 96, of Port Richey died Aug. 28, 2002. She is survived by daughters, Mary Sciortino and Patricia Sorchy; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

LARKIN, Royce Lyon, 78, of Dade City, died Wednesday, August 28, 2002 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa. A native of Ranger, Texas , she moved to Dade City in 1944. She was a retired Realtor and was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Dade City. She was predeceased by her husbands, Webb C. Clarke, Jr. and E.B. Larkin. Survivors include two sons, Webb C. Clarke, III of Zephyrhills and Gloyd Clarke of Dade City; a daughter, Camille Reynolds of Dade City; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Funeral Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to Hernando-Pasco Hospice or the charity of your choice.

BRADLEY, Eloise McSwain, died Thursday, Aug. 29, 2002. She was born Oct. 15, 1922 in Tampa, Florida and was the daughter of L.B. McSwain, Sr. and Macie McSwain. She grew up in Tampa and attended H.B. Plant High School. Preceded in death by her husband, C. Ray Bradley in 1999, she traveled extensively as an Air Force spouse and moved back to the Tampa area in 1966. Survivors include one brother, L.B. McSwain of Tampa; one sister, Kathryn Kates of Huntsville, Ala.; two sons, Calvin Bradley of Seattle, Wash., and Paul Bradley of Wesley Chapel, Fla.; two grandsons, Joel and Justin; and two granddaughters, Alee and Arleen. Eloise was a member of the First Baptist Church of Tampa and was past Queen of the Daughters of The Nile. Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday in the funeral h ome chapel. Dr. James Knight, Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service. Private interment will be held at Florida National Cemetery.

BRUNDIGE, Beverly S., 63 of Tampa, Florida passed away on August 28, 2002. Mrs. Brundige is preceded in death by her husband Gerard and her sister Barbara Kirk. She is survived by one brother, Richard Sasser and his wife Jacqui; nieces, Cay Kline and her husband Steve, and Melinda Kirk; nephews, Stevan Wade and Michael Kirk; two great-nieces and three great-great-nieces. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Blount Curry & Roel Funeral Homes, Garden of Memories Chapel, 4207 E. Lake Avenue with interment to follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. DREXLER, Milton, 86, of Largo, died Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2002 at Palm Garden of Pinellas. He moved to Largo in 1998 from his native Rochester, New York. He served in the Army during World War II. He was a grocer. Survivors include two sons, Jack of Seminole, and Edward of Rochester, N.Y.; one sister, Rose of Michigan; one grand-son, Bryan of Falls Church, Va.; and companion, Muriel Levine of Largo. Lee of Live Oak, Harriett Miller of Lithia, and Angie Bridges of Deatsville, Ala.; one brother, Bill Carr of Ozark, Ala.; 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Friday, Aug. 30, from 3-4 p.m. with funeral services at 4 p.m. at A.M. Seigler Funeral Home, 1300 E. Canal St. (Hwy. 60E) Mulberry.

HUNTER, William R., 58, of Tampa, died August 27, 2002. Born in Beaumont, Texas , he is survived by his wife, Aida Hunter of Tampa; two daughters, Tina Winward of Houston, Texas and Melissa and husband, David Bledsoe of Mason, Ohio; and two grandchildren, Bryan and Caleb.
