RALYEA, Earl Walter, 78 of Zephyrhills passed away August 9, 2002. Mr. Ralyea served in the Army in World War II where he received the Bronze Star. He came to Zephyrhills in 1969 from Tampa and was a Methodist. Survivors include his wife, Delores of Zephyrhills; three sons, Ronald Paul, and Gary Wayne, both of Thonotosassa, and Douglas Bryan of Seffner; one daughter, Lisa Elaine Brown of Taladega, Alabama; ten grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren; two sisters, Clarene James, and Evelyn Yeager both of Seffner. He was preceded in death by his son, Earl Walter Ralyea, Jr. Funeral services will be held Tuesday August 13 at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Whitfield Funeral home with visitation one hour prior to the service. Rev. A.C. Bryant will officiate and interment will follow in Chapel Hill Gardens.

BROWN, Doris E., age 75 of Plant City, passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2002, at South Florida Baptist Hospital in Plant City, Fla., Mr. Brown moved to Plant City 49 years ago from Athens, Ala. where he was born. He was a World War II Army veteran and worked for Plant City Groves. Survivors include his wife, Viola Brown of Plant City, Fla.; and four daughters, Sharon Lugarihl of Lithia, Fla., Shirley Allen of Plant City, Fla., Tammie Davidson of Lakeland, Fla., Teresa Richardson of Thonotosassa, Fla., Brenda Tottser of Reading, Pa.; two brothers, Willard Brown of Athens, Ala., Curtis Brown of Plant City, Fla.; two sisters, Louise Simpson of Florance, Ala., Opal Kelly of Athens, Ala.; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, 2 p.m. at Wells Memorial Chapel, with Rev. Jeffrey Howell officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the services. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Plant City, Fla.

BROWN, Leslie `CUZ`, 82, of Brandon, passed away August 9, 2002. A life resident of Florida, Mr. Brown was a Christian and a member of the U.S. Army 2nd Armored Division during World War II. He is survived by his beloved wife, Louise Brown; their son, Larry Brown and wife Sheree; their daughter, Leslie Tucker; three sisters, Rae, Martha and Betty Jo; his grandchildren, Aaron, Jeremy, Jason, and Nick. Visitation will be held Monday August 12, 2002 from 6 to 8 p.m. and service to follow Tuesday August 13 at 2 p.m. Interment to take place at Sunset Memory Gardens.

She was a homemaker and a Charter Member of the Dade City Church of God. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Denver Huffstutler of Dade City; one son, Rev. Dewey Huffstutler and wife Jennie of Land O'Lakes, Fla.; one daughter, Shirlene Russ of Dade City, Fla.; two sisters, Kathryn Tinsley and Mildred Rosier all of Dade City, Fla.; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at the Dade City Church of God on Tuesday at 11 a.m. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Florida National Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Monday Evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Loyless Funeral Home Chapel.

PREISS, Clifton Wayne, 72, of Weirsdale, Fla., formerly of Brandon, passed away on Friday, August 9, 2002. He had been the Superintendent of Mail at the Brandon Post Office and is survived by his wife, Barbara; son, Clifton Wayne Preiss, Jr.; three daughters, Carol Jean Preiss, Dianne Kay Collins and Eve Lynn Smithgall; sister, Marilyn O'Brien; and six grandchildren. Reilly, Yonkers, New York; and a sister, Marguerite Horwedel, New Jersey. Mrs. Semerad was born in New York City and had been a chief dietitian for several hospitals. She was a member of Christ The King Catholic Church, Tampa and the Dietetics Association. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2002 at Christ The King Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Fla. TABB, Frances, 79 of Tampa, Florida passed away on August 11, 2002. Mrs. Tabb is survived by her husband of 61 years, Eddie T. Tabb; sons, James L. Tabb and his wife Jean, Robert E. Tabb and his wife Susan; sister, Vurlon Byrd; four grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. She was a member of Causeway Baptist Church. BYRNES, Charles, 73, of Dade City, died August 11, 2002 at Hernando-Pasco Hospice Care Center. A native of Chicago, he was a long time resident of this area. He was retired as the National Sales Manager for Mary Carter Paints and was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church in Ridge Manor. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Laura; four sons, Charles Jr. of Dade City, Keith, Chris and Byron, all of Riverview; three daughters, Amy Kessler of St. Petersburg, Maureen Hagenbrok of Memphis and Carol Blanco of Tampa; a brother, Ron Byrnes of Dewy, Arizona; and nine grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at St. Anne Catholic Church on Tuesday (TODAY) at 10;00 a.m. with Father Murphy officiating. Burial will follow at Florida National Cemetery.

HISE, Billy Keith, 73, of Dade City, Fla., passed away Saturday, August 10, 2002 at his home. He is survived by his wife, Frances E. Hise, Dade City, Fla.; his daughter, Debra J. Hise, Zephyrhills, Fla.; his son and daughter-in-law: David K. and Jennifer A. Hise, Dade City, Fla.; three sisters, DeLorce, Eloise, and Rella; five brothers, Kenneth, John, Jerry, Jimmy, and Joe; two brothers-in-law, Eddie and Wayne; his close friends, Gene and Esther Hart; four grandchildren, Nathaniel, Matthew, Jessica, and Stephanie. He was born November 14, 1928 in Mill Creek, W.Va., and moved to Dade City 21 years ago from Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. He was a retired manager for the Southern Bell Telephone Co. He was a member of the Pendleton Lodge A.F. & A.M., in Franklin, W.Va., and was a Lifetime member of t he V.F.W. Post 896 in Martinsburg, W.Va. He was formerly employed with the C&P Telephone Co. of West Virginia. Graveside services will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 14, 2002 at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Fla. CLIFFORD, Margaret Catherine Donovan, beloved mother and grandmother, age 81, passed away peacefully at her home in Wesley Chapel, Florida on August 5, 2002. `Margie` was born in 1920 in Englewood, Ohio and lived in the Carrollwood and Wesley Chapel, Florida area from 1994 until death. She formerly resided in Dayton, Ohio from 1925-1972 and the Titusville/ Port St. John, Florida area from 1972-1994. She is survived by one brother, Willard Donovan of South Carolina; three daughters; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Surviving daughters are Carolyn Ross, Sue Harvey of St. Petersburg, Florida and Sheryl Whelchel of Wesley Chapel, Florida. Grandchildren include John Harvey of Port St. John, Florida, Melissa Aldosari of Rochester, Minnesota, Kera Hawks of Acworth, Georgia a nd Clarissa Sissel of Land O' Lakes, Florida, a local Lutz Elementary school teacher. Great-grand-children are Chris, Jennifer and Jessica Harvey of Port St. John, Florida, Daniel and Khaled Aldosari of Rochester, Minnesota, Blake and Avery Hawks of Acworth, Georgia, and Kelsey Sissel of Land O' Lakes, Florida. Though our little `Margie` has left us, heaven gained a special angel. Memorial service will be held on Friday, August 16, 2002 at 3:00 p.m., Swart Funeral Home in West Carrollton, Ohio.

COLLINS, Betty Ann (Anders), 69, passed away August 11, 2002 in Brandon, Fla. Born in Stanton, Neb., she moved to this area in 1977. She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, the Brandon Homemakers Club and a retired Registered Nurse. She was predeceased by daughter, Teresa; and son, Billy, who died at birth. She is survived by her loving husband, Laurence; son, James; brothers, Dallas and Richard; and sister, LaVerla Mae Geu. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association or the charity of your choice. Visitation will be August 14, 2002 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with services on August 15, 2002 at 10:00 a.m., both at Hillsboro Memorial F.H.

CONNELL, Sheldon Lamar, 56, of Tampa, passed away Sunday, August 11, 2002. He served in the U.S. Army and was a Vietnam veteran. Survivors include his wife, Patsy; son, James `Scooter`; parents, James and Geraldine Rhoden; brother, Clyde Smith; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held Thursday, 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m.

COOPER, Frances, a former long-term resident of the Tampa Bay area and Registered Nurse, passed away Aug. 6, 2002 in Colorado Springs, Colo. Three children, John Cooper, Kyle Cooper and Sara Santarelli; her brother, Robert Elkins; and nine grandchildren survive her. Frances was born in Pikeville, Ky., and was a graduate of the University of Kentucky School of Nursing. She married John Cooper and lived extensively in Europe with her spouse and children while he was on active duty in the United States Army. After moving to Brandon, Florida in 1971, Frances was employed by Memorial Hospital of Tampa, Centro Asturiano Hospital, and Tampa Bay Academy, developing life long friendships among the nursing community. She joined the travel nurse corps and served nearly three years in Saudi Arabia and again pursued her passion for traveling in Europe and Africa. Frances is loved dearly by her colleagues, friends, and family and will always be remembered for her love of travel, her commitment to her profession, and her never ending love for her children and grandchildren. Memorial services were held Friday at Sunrise United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to be made to Pikes Peak Hospice, 825 E. Pikes Peak, Colorado Springs, CO 80906. A second memorial service will be held in Tampa, Florida in the Fall.

She is survived by five daughters, Janice Frasher McIntosh, Jennifer Potter, Barbara Frasher, Judith Adcock and Beverly Hall; three brothers, John, Gene and Paul TenEyck; five sisters, Delores Hirzel, Katharine Loch, Ruth Welling, Mayor Margaret `Marge` Brown and MaDonna Henderson; eight grand-children; and two great-grand-children. A native of Oregon Township, Ohio, she lived in the area for 21 years coming from Alabama. She was a licensed Practical Nurse specializing in geriatric care for over 40 years. Funeral services will be held at Stowers Brandon Chapel Tuesday, August 13, 2002 at 3 p.m. T he family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. prior to services at the funeral home. GAMBILL, Mae L., 78 of Plant City, floated to heaven with Jesus to be with her husband, William, on August 11, 2002, under the care of B.J. Trent, her loving daughter, and Hospice Aqua Team. Born in Kentucky, she moved to Plant City with William in 1975. She is survived by her five children, Pat Corbin, Betty `B.J.` Trent, Douglas Gambill, Norman Litteral, and Virgil Davis; nine grandchildren, Dorothy, Robin, Kerre, Kristan, Kim, Stephanie, Dean, Greg, and Sean; and ten great-grandchildren. Services will be at Calvary Free Will Baptist Church on Thursday, August 15, 2002 at 12 p.m. with Rev. Rodger McClellan officiating. Interment will follow in Springhead Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services.

GRANIERO, Margaret E., 82, passed away August 10, 2002. Survivors include her sons, Ron and Greg Graniero; sister, Lucille; and two grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Patrick in 1984 and son, David in 1995. Mrs. Graniero moved to Tampa in 1946 and was a Methodist by faith. She owned a gift shop for many years and was a very devoted and loving mother. A Memorial service will be celebrated at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 14, 2002 at the Town & Country Chapel of Mark III Funeral Home. The family will receive guests one hour prior to service time. GRIFFIN, Lula E., 97, of Oakland, Fla., formerly of Plant City and Turkey Creek area died August 10, 2002. Born in Marianna, Fla. on Jan. 19, 1905, she was preceded in death by her husband, William O. Griffin in August, 1945; as well as two daughters, Norma Van Norman, March 1970, and Ruby Bowden Covell, March 2000. She is survived by four sons, James Griffin of Lakeland, Fla., Charles (Dee) Griffin of Weeki Wachee, Fla., Warren (Betty Anne) Griffin of Oakland, Fla., and Ronald (Sandra) Griffin of Wichita, Kan.; daughter, Marian Griffin (Aubrey) Reed of Marietta, Ga.; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and one sister, Margaret (Hubert) Holloway, Lithia, Fla. Ms. Griffin was a devoted Christian throughout her lifetime and a member in her later years, at West Orange Baptist Church, Oakland, Fla. She was a member of the Plant City Women's Club; served as Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, Turkey Creek/Plant City Chapter #81, where she was a member for over fifty years. She served in the Ladies's Auxiliary for V.F.W.; served as a volunteer for American Legion, Ladies Auxiliary Post 26, Plant City; and served many years in volunteer serv ice for the Greater Plant City Chamber of Commerce. The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, August 13, from 6-8 p.m. at the Collison Carey Hand Funeral Home, 1148 East Plant Street, Winter Garden, Fla. In celebration of her life, the funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 14, at 10:30 a.m. at West Orange Baptist Church, 200 Tubb Street, Oakland, Fla., with Pastor Jeff Helms officia ting. Interment will follow in the Oakland Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted however, should friends desire memorial contributions may be directed to the Town of Oakland Westside Memorial Park.
