MARTIN, Livan, age 36, of Tampa, passed away August 27, 2002. A native of Cuba, Mr. Martin was a resident of Tampa for the past four years and was of the Catholic faith. Survivors include his wife, Milagros Diaz Martin; sons, Livan Martin and Sebastian Martin; mother, Ada Rodriguez Martin in Cuba and several brothers and sisters in Cuba.

MENDES, Angelina G. `Angie`, 94, a lifelong resident of Tampa, passed away on Sept. 2, 2002. Survivors include her son, Bennie M. Lino and his wife Katie; two sisters, Josephine Fernandez and her husband Ramon, and Lucy Bruno; grandson, Bennie, Jr. and his wife Lisa; three great-grandchildren; three great-great granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews. Angie worked as a cigar maker at the Santaella Cigar Factory. She was a Worthy Matron of the OES, Universal Chapter #269, Tampa. The family wishes to thank Yara Jimenez and the staff at Rose of Saron, ALF for the excellent care of Angie. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to LifePath Hospice in her memory. Pallbearers include: Bennie Lino Jr., Chris Lino, Johnny Macaluso, Ramon Fernandez Jr., Wayne Vigil, and Frank LaRocca. Honorary Pallbear ers include: Dr. Dipak Shah, Gene Fry, David and Earl Garcia, Tony Bruno, Jeff Kritz, Jim Preston and Ricardo A. Fernandez. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends this evening from 6 - 8 p.m. with the Order of the Eastern Star Ritual Service at 7 p.m.

MERRILL, Anita, 81, passed away September 1, 2002 in Brandon. Born in Anniston, Ala., she moved to this area in 1955. She was a Baptist and a waitress. She is survived by her son, Richard; daughter, Ann; sisters, Jeannine and Joyce; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Visitation will September 5, 2002 at 9 a.m. with services to follow at 10 a.m., both at Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home.

PARRIS, Annetta J., 93, of St. Petersburg and formerly of Tampa, passed away August 31, 2002. She was Catholic by faith and a long time member of Christ the King Catholic Church. She is survived by her step-children, Margaret E. Vasilieff, H. Stuart Parris, Nelson F. Parris; grandchildren, David S. Parris, Susan R. Parris; great grandchildren, John W. Parris and Anne Marie Parris. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday at the South Tampa Chapel of Mark III Funeral Home. A funeral mass to repose her soul will be held 1:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6, at Christ the King Catholic Church. Flowers will be accepted as well as a memorial fund is being established at South Trust Bank in Mrs. Parris' name for her great grandchildren.

QUETGLEZ, Carmen Ramos, 74, passed away Monday September 2, 2002. She is survived by her four sons, Michael Quetglez, Danny Quetglez, Rene Quetglez, and Randy Quetglez; daughter, Blanche Lavalla; two brothers, Mitch Ramos, and Danny Ramos; three sisters, Sandra Bombalina, Tina Gonzalez, and Schomada Ramos; grandson, Michael `Chachi` Quetglez. A funeral service will be held Friday September 6, 2002 at 8 p.m. at Blount, Curry & Roel Funeral Homes. The family will receive friends Friday prior to the service from 6 till time of service at the funeral home.

RODRIGUEZ, Joe, 78, `Baby Joe Diaz`, of Tampa, passed away at home on Saturday, August 31, 2002. `Baby Joe` came to Tampa in 1945 as a professional boxer. With 147 fights under his belt, he had many, many wins, some losses, `but he was never knocked out, in 15 years of boxing`. Preceded in death by his son Joseph Henry Rodriguez. He is survived by his wife, Julia; daughter , Carrie Tucker and husband, Dan, and their eight children and 14 grandchildren; son, Michael Rodriguez and wife, Penny, his daughter Jennifer Martinez, sons, Chance, Casey, and three grandchildren; daughter, Julinda Gallogly and husband, Tom, their children, Malissa, Meagan, and Thomas, grandson, Paul Romera and wife, Tracy, daughter, Brittany and son, Taylor. Dad, Daddy, Pop, Abuelo, we were ble ssed to have you here with us for so many years, and now we know your job is done here on earth and it was time to begin a new and glorious journey with Joey at the big `Dog Track and Jai Alai in the sky`. We know we will all see you again one day, so make up for lost time and have fun until then. `We love you`. Thanks to the loving care of LifePath Hospice to the end. Thank you Pastor, Barbara Awoniyi for officiating over your journey to heaven. In loving memory, your Family.

ROGERS, Zula M. (Big Mama), 94, of Tampa passed away Sunday, September 1, 2002. Survived by one son, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren. Services Hillsboro Memorial Garden Fri., 6-8 p.m. Sat 10 a.m.

SAVARINO, Alfonso, 76, of Homestead, Fla., passed away on Sept. 3, 2002 at Homestead Hospital. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Rose; daughter, Sandra and her husband Tracy; and granddaughters, Megan and Victoria. He will be sadly mourned by his sisters, Mary Fiore and Adela Puertas, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Alfonso was born in Tampa, Florida, on Sept. 1, 1926. A true patriot, he served in the States Navy during World War II. He was a 33 year employee of Pan American World Airways, from which he retired as Director of In-Flight Services at the age of 55. Alfonso was an avid collector of fishing reels, and hunting decoys. Visitation will be held on Friday from 6-8 p.m. at the Blount, Curry & Roel Funeral Home, Armenia Chapel, 4730 N. Armenia Ave., Tampa, Fla. Graveside services will commence on Saturday, at 10 a.m. at Centro Espanol Memorial Cemetery, 4601 E. Lake Ave., Tampa, Fla.

SHEA, Anna Rose, 83, a resident of Tampa, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 2, 2002 after a long illness. Survivors include her devoted husband of 59 years, Don Shea, Sr.; her daughter, Joanne Spencer and husband Tim of St. Petersburg; her son, Don Shea, Jr. and wife JoAnn of Valrico; granddaughters, Juanna Noriega and husband Albert of Valrico, Terri Redmon and husband Lonnie of Atlanta, Donna Denhoff and husband Aaron of Brandon and Candace Pendry of St. Petersburg; grandson, Christopher Spencer of St. Petersburg and eight great-grandchildren. Mrs. Shea was retired from many years of employment with Shea and Prange Pharmacy. She was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Tampa. A wake service will be held at Stowers Brandon Chapel Thursday, September 5, 2002 at 7 p.m. with Monsignor Laurence Higgins officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

TALPOS, Lenore J., 87, of Tampa, beloved wife of predeceased, Louis W., died Sunday, September 1, 2002 at University Community Hospital in Tampa. She came here in 1999 from Sun City, Arizona. A homemaker, she was also an accomplished artist and volunteered at hospitals in Michigan and Arizona. She was a Catholic. Survivors are son, Richard; daughter, Sharon; grandchildren, Kara, Jenni, Sara and Andrea; and great-grand-children, Christopher and Jessica. Inurnment will be in Sun City, Ariz. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.

Survivors include her son, Doug Torres; sisters, Joyce Simard and Maureen Boudrot; chosen daughter, Connie Cardoso; grandchildren, Michael Cardoso and Lisa Millar; godson, Charlie Simard and two great-grandchildren. A funeral mass for the repose of her soul will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday Sept. 7, 2002 at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until time of mass at 10:30 a.m.

TYNDALL, Lillian L., 81, of Tampa, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 1, 2002. Survivors include four daughters, Linda French, Joyce Ann Houston, Barbara Moore, and Judy Morris; one son, Philip Kirkman Tyndall; two brothers, Gilbert Singleton and Elmer Griffin; two sisters, Addie Rutledge, and Idonia Andrews; 10 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Tyndall had lived and worked in the Tampa Bay area for since 1952. She worked as a waitress in the area for over 30 year. Later, she worked as a companion and caregiver for the elderly, and she enjoyed reading to them. In her spare time, she loved fishing and working in her yard and garden. She loved the Lord, and was of the Baptist faith. A memorial service will be held October 5, in Washington , N.C.

WAWRO, June B., 80, of Sun City Center, Fla., passed away August 28, 2002. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio and moved to Sun City Center in 1989 from Rochester, N.Y. She was retired from Kodak Corp., and was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church. She is survived by a son, John A. Wawro of White Plains, Md.; a daughter, Linda Witkowski of Walworth, N.Y.; a brother, Carey Bryan of Leonardtown, Md.; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2002 at the Chapel of Lewers Funeral Home with interment in Ruskin Memorial Park. Friends who wish may make memorial gifts to The Alzheimer's Association.

WEEKLY, Donald E., 76, of Ruskin, passed away Sept. 3, 2002. He was born in Nelsonville, Ohio and came here in 1965. He was retired from Hillsborough County and was a Navy veteran of World War II. He is survived by two sons, Donald J. of Ruskin, and Harold S. of Augusta, Ga.; two daughters, Judith M. Snyder of Delaware, Ohio, and Patricia T. Scheffler of Ruskin; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday from the Chapel of Lewers Funeral Home. Visitation for family and friends will be Thursday, 6-8 p.m. Interment will be in Ruskin Cemetery.

She was a retired Food Service Assistant Manager for Sanders Elementary School and a member of Land O' Lakes Church of God. She is survived by three sons, James E. (Maggy) White of Brazoria, Texas , John Robert (Wendy) White of Land O' Lakes, Fla., and Timothy D. (Tonya) White of Darby, Fla.; five daughters, Mary Ann (Charles) Blanchard of Spring Hill, Fla., Norma (George) Everson of Brooksville, Fla., Shirley Watson of Land O' Lakes, Fla., Patricia Dennison of Hudson, Fla., Marsha (Larry) Thomas of Bunnell, Fla.; one brother, Samuel McCall of Hydesville, Calif.; one sister, Mildred (Richard) Lang of Spring Hill, Fla.; 23 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church Cemetery, Land O' Lakes. The family will receive friends at the Loyless Funeral Home on Friday evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Flowers will be accepted or you may make donations in her memory to the Land O' Lakes Church of God Building Fund or Hernando/Pasco Hospice.

He is survived by his wife, Dalene of Zephyrhills; two sons, James Robert Holloway and Gary Paul Holloway; step-children, Laurie Spatholt, Julie Mitchell, and Ryan Van Pelt; a brother, Robert Dean Holloway; a sister, Juanita Swagger; six grand-children; eight great-grand-children; and several nieces all of Ohio. Mr. Holloway was born January 31, 1918 in East Palestine, Ohio and came to this area 22 years ago from Columbiana, Ohio. He was a veteran of the Army serving in World War II, a truck driver for the Village of Columbiana, and a Presbyterian.
