COUEY, Jeff, 80, off Trilby, died Thursday, September 19, 2002 at his home. He is survived by his wife, Lil Couey; one daughter, Yvonne Miller and her husband Lamar of Brooksville; one grandson, T.J. He was preceded in death by his brother, Clifford Couey. Known by his friends as the mayor of Trilby, he was a lifelong resident. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a member of the V.F.W. and the American Legion. He worked for the Atlantic Coastline Railroad (now CSX railroad) for 42 years. She was a member of the National Rifle Association, Senior Orphan Charity, Angel Gift Benefit and The Big Brothers and Sisters of Lakeland. She was a 1988 Collegiate All American, a 1992 Who's Who in American Junior Colleges, a recipient of the Dale Carnegie Outstanding Achievement award and a 2002 Liberty Regional Agency Stars Award winner.
