ELSESSER, Joseph John, 57, of Port Richey, passed away Monday, September 23, 2002 at Hernando-Pasco Hospice Care Center, New Port Richey. Born in Pittsburgh, Pa., he came here two months ago. He was a disabled Vietnam veteran and a Catholic. He is survived by two sons, Tony Elsesser and David Badamo, both of New Port Richey; a daughter, Tina Miller of Port Richey; three brothers, Sonny of Ohio, Robert and Tony of Pittsburgh; three sisters, Betty Badamo, Mary Stipetich, Dolly Deworel, all of Pittsburgh; and three grandchildren. Visitation will be held Wednesday, Sept. 25 from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home and a graveside service at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell at 12:30 p.m.

FOSTER, Jeanette L., 56, of Hudson, died Sunday, Sept. 22, 2002 at Southern Pines Nursing Center in New Port Richey. She was born in Philadelphia, Pa. and came here 15 years ago from Dayton, Ohio. She was Catholic; a member of St. James the Apostle in Port Richey; and a member of the VFW Auxiliary #7845 in Port Richey. Survivors include father, Nicholas Cannata of Port Richey; son, Kenneth Foster of Palmetto, Fla.; daughter, Dawn Foster of Dayton, Ohio; brother Joseph Cannata of Hudson; two grandchildren; and long time companion, Larry Folden of Hudson.

GREENWOOD, Myra Ruth, age 83, of Zephyrhills, passed away Monday, September 23, 2002 at Hernando-Pasco Hospice Care Center. Mrs. Greenwood was born in Montgomery, Alabama and moved to Zephyrhills two years ago from Tampa. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. Survivors include one daughter, Shirley Lebrun of Wesley Chapel; one grand-daughter, Cynthia Lebrun of Wesley Chapel; one grandson, Tony Gonzalez of Daytona Beach; three step-grand-children; and one great-grand-child. Visitation will be held Thursday September 26, 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Kelly Memorial Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held Friday at 10:00 a.m. at Sunset Memory Gardens in Thonotosassa, Florida.

Born in Orange, N.J., she came here 14 years ago from Glen Ridge, N.J. She was a retired insurance secretary for Great American Insurance in Cedar Knolls, N.J. She was a member of St. James the Apostle Catholic Church in Port Richey. She is survived by a son, Robert E. Griffin of Glen Ridge; a daughter, Mary Parkin of Port Richey, Fla.; three brothers, William Weisenhorn of Glen Ridge, Robert Weisenhorn of Milford, Mass., and John Weisenhorn of Carteret, N.J.; a sister, Claire Walloga of Lake Shawnee, N.J.; and five grandchildren.

MARINIER, Ruth I., 83, New Port Richey, Fla., passed away on September 20, 2002 at Regional Medical Center, Bayonet Point in Hudson, Fla. Born in Casco Township, Mich., she moved here 30 years ago from Algonac, Mich. She was a retired registered nurse. Mrs. Marinier was a member of the Community Congregational Church in New Port Richey; a Lady of the Elks #2520 Aripeka; and a member of the US Coast Guard Auxillary. She is survived by her nephew, Gary Baumgarten of Algonac, Mich.

MARTIN, Roland W., 85, of Hudson, Florida, died Saturday Sept. 21, 2002 at Community Hospital of New Port Richey. He was born in Genoa, Ohio and moved to Port Richey from Toledo, Ohio in 1972. He was a retired welder for Standard Oil Co., Toledo, Ohio; a Marine Corps Veteran of World War II; of the Lutheran faith; a Life member, past commander and past district commander of VFW, Toledo, Ohio; Past commander Lucas County Council, Toledo, Ohio; member of military Order of the Cooties, Toledo, Ohio; and member of American Legion, Toledo, Ohio. Survivors include wife, Ruth Martin of Port Richey; daughters, Roxine Chapin of Jackson, Tenn. and Catherine Hoffman of Las Vegas, Nev.; brother, Luther Martin of Indiana ; several grandchildren; and several great-grand-children. Entombment will take place in Toledo, Ohio.

VAZQUEZ, Sarah S., 77, of New Port Richey passed away July 27, 2002 at Community Hospital of New Port Richey. Born July 27, 2002, she came here 14 years ago from her native Brooklyn, N.Y. She was Greek Orthodox and retired from the New York Police Dept. Parking Enforcement Division. Survivors include her husband, Juan; two sons, Anthony Lobosco of Brooklyn and Juan R. Vazquez of Princeton, N.J.; five daughters, Ruth Elaine Giordano of Holopaw, Fla., Lorretta Lauditi of Washington ville, N.Y., Elsie Fucci of Frederick, Md., Alice V. Acevedo of Staten Island, N.Y. and Jamal Montero of Holopaw, Fla.; 30 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Wednesday, Sept. 25, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. ACEBAL, Emelina (Emma) Sylvia, 88, a native of Tampa and widow, passed away Saturday, September 21, 2002, at West Bay Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. She is preceded in death by her son, Peter Diaz. Survivors include her daughter, Yolanda Acebal Crespo of St. Petersburg; her son, Ernest Acebal of Tampa; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, 2002 at the Marsicano Chapel, 4040 Henderson, Blvd.

BRADY, Charles David, 78, of Lebanon, Ohio, formerly of Beverly Beach, Fla., died Saturday, September 21, 2002 at Hospice of Cincinnati. He was retired from Cincinnati Milicron in 1986 after 18 years of service and served his country proudly as a Marine in World War II. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, past Post Commander of the American Legion in Madeira and was a member of Montgomery Masonic Lodge #94. Preceded in death by his wife, Betty (Blaney) Brady in 1988, he is survived by sons, Tom Brady and his wife, Karen of Lebanon and Dave Brady and his wife, Shery Medlar of San Diego, Calif.; brothers, Roy Brady of Atlanta, Ga. and Paul Brady of Texas ; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Visitation and funeral service was held Tuesday evening, Sept. 24, 2002 at the Stine-Kilburn FH, Lebanon Ohio, with military honors. The family requests memorial contributions to Hospice of Cincinnati.

BURRIS, Robert Earl, 87, of Tampa, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2002. He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Beatrice; his daughter, Judy Wood; his son, Daniel and wife, Nancy; his son, David and wife, Sherry; his granddaughters, Kelly, Andrea, Nicole and Michelle; his sister, Jean Garland. Bob was a gentle man and a quiet hero. His children learned from the way he lived his life to have honesty, morality, and integrity. While his family was first in his life, fishing was a very close second. He loved to fish so much, and always wanted to make `one more cast.` His last fishing trip was earlier this month. A gathering of friends will be held at Florida Mortuary, 4601 N. Nebraska Ave., Friday, Sept. 27 from 7-8 p.m. for the celebration of Bob's life. Donations in his name may be made to LifePath Hospice in Tampa.

CREWS, Rebecca, age 94, of Blountstown, Fla., passed away Sunday, Sept. 22, 2002 at her home. Mrs. Crews was born in Samson, Alabama and had lived in Calhoun County for many years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Blountstown. Survivors include one daughter, Joyce Buie of Blountstown; three grand-children, Barbara Adams and her husband, Don of Newville, Ala., Donna Tucker and her husband, Michael of Marianna, and William `Bill` Buie of Daleville, Ala.; six great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. FERNANDEZ, Fernando, 89, a long time resident of Temple Terrace, joined his wife of 51 years, Leonora, on Saturday, September 21, 2002. Mr. Fernandez was proudly employed at Publix on 53rd St. and Fowler Avenue. He was lovingly referred to as `Mr. Publix.` He was a devout Catholic and a member of the Knights of Columbus, Corpus Christi Council. Survivors include his son, Daniel and his wife, Beverly; daughter, Nora Fernandez Wessling and husband, Kenneth; grandsons, Jeffrey D. Fernandez and wife, Chrissy, Peter V. Fernandez and wife, Jacqueline, Eric D. Wessling and wife, Elizabeth and Sean M. Wessling; granddaughter, Lisa Wessling Payne and husband, Jim; great-grandson, Alex J. Fernandez; brother, Ignacio Fernandez of Puerto Rico; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Pallbearers will be Jeffrey Fernandez, Peter Fernandez, Eric Wessling, Sean Wessling, Jim Payne and Reggie Sedita. MARGURIET, Charles P. MAJ (Ret.), born November 11, 1946 in Pittsburgh, Pa. and passed away September 22, 2002 in his home surrounded by his family in Valrico. `Chuck` graduated from New Castle High School in Pa. and then was later drafted into the Army. He served twice in Vietnam and continued a faithful service to the US Army for 20 years, also earning an Engineering degree from the University of Nebraska. He was a kind-hearted soul, always having a smile and a hearty laugh for everyone. He had a most wonderful outlook on life no matter what was put before him. Those remaining to carry on, for we are not survivors but instead we continue to live through him: Marylea M. Marguriet (wife); Dennis Marguriet (brother) and Philip Marguriet (brother); Margaret Richter (Marguriet, sister); Carrie Marguriet (mother); Sue Cummings (Marguriet, daughter), Anita Marguriet (daughter) and PFC Faith Marguriet (daughter). A native of Tampa, he retired from the construction industry and was a 37 year member of I.U.O.E., local #925, a member of G.W.R.R.A., F & AM Brandon Lodge #114, and served in the US Air Force. Survivors include his wife of 39 years , Patricia; mother, Margaret Milling; son, Robert, Jr. and his wife, Dawn; daughter, Marline Alexander and her husband, Kevin; two sisters, Linda Whetsell and Dee Thompson; brother, Ralph Santiago; and four precious granddaughters, Ashley, Amber, Brittany, and Taylor. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 25, 2002 at the Garden of Memories Chapel.
