NORMAN, James B., 65, a resident of Lithia, passed away September 22, 2002. He is survived by his loving family.

RUMAN, Joseph, died on Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2002 in Brandon. He was 85. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania , he grew up in Mt. Holly, New Jersey. He served as an officer in the US Army Air Corps during World War II and was employed by Florida Steel Corp. in Tampa as Superintendent of Maintenance, until his retirement in 1982. Marie Louise Schweltzer, deceased, was his spouse for 49 years. He is survived by his sister, Raye Black of Mt. Holly, N.J.; and seven children, Gale Lee of Brandon, Thomas of New York City, N.Y., Timothy of Plant City, James of Boise, Idaho, Elizabeth of Phoenix, Ariz., George of Brandon (with whom he resided, and Richard of Clearwater. There are 12 Ruman grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Memorial mass will be celebrated at Nativity Catholic Church's Chapel of Our Lady of Peace on Saturday, September 28, at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Food Pantry of Nativity Catholic Church, where Joseph served or at H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center, Tampa.

STEWART, Emma C., 90, of Tampa, Florida, passed away on September 20, 2002. Ms. Stewart is survived by her sister, Evelyn McCain; brother, J. Parks Stewart of Orlando, Florida; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held on Friday, September 27, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. in Myrtle Hill Memorial Park. Dr. Lynn Sayne from Suncoast Baptist Church will officiate.

STIGERS, Alexus Nicole, one year old daughter of William Stigers and Sandra Chinchilla, passed away on September 22, 2002. Also surviving are her grandparents, Gregorio and Gladys Chinchilla and Amos and Izetta Stigers; a great-grandmother, Earlene Walker; numerous aunts and uncles; and other family members. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 25, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. at the Garden of Memories Chapel, 4207 East Lake Avenue., with interment following. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service.

THOMPSON, Thomas Dale, 47, passed away on September 22, 2002. He is survived by his son, Jason of Miami; two brothers, Raymond of St. Petersburg and Robert of Greensburg, Pa.; and his mother, Betty Thompson of Tampa. Memorial services will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m at the funeral home.

WILLIAMS, Robert Leon, 78, died Sept. 21, 2002. He was a US Navy Veteran and survived by wife, Jean Marie Williams; step-daughter; six children; brother; and several grandchildren.

MILLER, John B., 93, of Traveler's Rest in Dade City, died Tuesday, September 24, 2002 in Dade City. He is survived by his wife, Betty Blair Miller of Dade City; one son, Robert Miller of Gladewater, Texas ; one daughter, Sandra Dinkledine of Dade City; and several grandchildren; and great-grandchildren. He was born October 29, 1908 in Chicago, Ill. and was a retired engineer. He was a World War II Army veteran who fought in the European Campaign. Memberships include the Presbyterian Church in Mishawaka, Indiana ; the Elks Lodge in Masena, N.Y. and the Mishawaka Kiwanis Club, Indiana . A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday at the Citrus Hall at Traveler's Rest with Rev. Paul Freed officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are requested to be made to the Traveler's Rest Rescue Squad or to the charity of ones choice. Inurnment will be in Highland Cemetery, South Bend, Indiana .

RAGUE, Harold F. `Harry`, 79, of Port Richey, Fla., passed away on September 23, 2002 at his residence. Born in Staten Island, N.Y., he moved here in 1991 from Jefferson Township, N.J. He was a retired police captain for the Jefferson Township Police Department after 39 years. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. Mr. Rague was a life member of the Police Benevolent Association Local #190 in New Jersey; a member of the Blue Knights New Jersey #VIII; the Emerald Society; DAV; AARP; and was a Catholic. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Rague; a son, Keven Marks of Fairview, Tenn.; a twin son, Robert Rague of Jefferson Township; and a twin daughter, Kathleen Rague of Milford, Pa.; three daughters, Diane Braun of Jim Thorpe, Pa., Debra Osborn of Port Richey, Fla. and Wendy Weeks of Charlotte, N.C.; a brother, Robert Rague of Wildwood, N.J.; three sisters, Alice Neville of Lyndcroft, N.J., Rita Mattucci of Windsor, N.Y. and Delores Walker of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

RUFFINO, Carmelo A. `Carl`, 82, of Bayonet Point, Fla., passed away on September 23, 2002 at Hernando-Pasco Hospice Care Center in New Port Richey, Fla. Born in Manhattan, N.Y., he moved here in 1991 from Long Island, N.Y. He was a retired New York City Fireman and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He is survived by two daughters, Catherine King and Ann Bunting both of Bayonet Point; and three grandchildren. National Cremation Society, New Port Richey, Fla.

SHEERER, Thomas Albert 71, of Holiday, died Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2002 in New Port Richey, Fla. He was born in Olyphant, Pennsylvania and moved to Holiday from Stroud Township, Pa. in 1990. He was a maintenance mechanic. Survivors include wife of 24 years, Nancy Sheerer of Holiday; three sons, Thomas Edward Shearer of Tampa, James Sheerer of Monticello, N.Y. and Wayne Shearer of Tampa; daughter, Margaret Fenton of Tampa; brother, Edward DePetro of Jessup, Pa.; two sisters, Frances Petro and Chickie DePetro, both of Olyphant, Pa.; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

TOMLIN, Howard T. Jr. 47, passed away September 23, 2002 in Zephyrhills. Survived by his wife, Vicki of Zephyrhills; sons, Thomas Tomlin of Zephyrhills and Jeremy Tomlin of North Middletown, Ky.; his mother, Ruth Tomlin of Zephyrhills; two grandchildren; brothers, Anthony Tomlin and Rick Tomlin, both of Zephyrhills; and sisters, Sheila Burnsted of Alabama and Marci Barrett of Booneville, Ky. Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, September 27, at Whitfield Funeral Home, with Rev. Steve Damnsa officiating. Interment will follow at Oakside Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Tomlin was born May 27, 1955 in Kentucky and came to this area in 1962 from Kentucky.

VANDENBURG, Kenneth H. 63, passed away September 22, 2002 in Dade City. Mr. Vandenburg is survived by his wife, Betty Lou of Dade City; two sons, David and his wife, Robin Vandenburg of St. Petersburg and Steven Vandenburg of Canton, Ohio; a daughter, Shari Mitchell of Erlanger, Ky.; three grandchildren, Heather Vandenburg of Canton, Ohio, Bonnie Mitchell of Erlanger, Ky. and Andrew Vandenburg of St. Petersburg. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Alice Vandenburg; and a sister, Judith Deyoe. Mr. Vandenburg was a carpenter and a Methodist. He retired after 16 years with Busch Gardens in Tampa, Fla. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hernando-Pasco Hospice, 7066 Fort King Road, Zephyrhills, FL 33541.

VELLA, Joseph A., 46, of New Port Richey, Florida, died Sunday, Sept. 22, 2002 in New Port Richey. He was born in Queens, New York and moved here from Long Island, N.Y. in 1982. He was a Sr. Sales Manager for Ryland Homes and of the Catholic faith. Survivors include wife, Peggy Sue Vella of Brooksville; sons, Joey A. Vella, II of Columbus, Ohio and Nicholas A. Vella of Dade City; step-son, Alexander Jackson of New Port Richey; step-daughter, Ashley Schroeder of Minneapolis, Minn.; mom and step-father, Joan and Willy Minicozze of Levittown, N.Y.; and brothers, Jim Vella of Highland Heights, Ohio and Andrew Vella of Cleveland, Ohio. Visitation will be held Thursday (today), Sept. 26, 2002 from 4-8 p.m. at

WARD, Max W., 73, of Hudson, Fla., passed away on September 21, 2002 at Hernando-Pasco Hospice Care Center in New Port Richey, Fla. Born in Horse Cave, Ky., he moved here 14 years ago from Indianapolis, Ind. He was a retired construction supervisor and a Baptist. He was a US Army Air Force veteran of World War II and a US Navy veteran of the Korean conflict. He was a member of the Masons, Eastern Star, and the US Coast Guard Auxiliary. He is survived by his wife, Viola F. Ward; two sons, Randy E. Ward of South Carolina and Kyle D. Ward of Indianapolis, Ind.; a sister, Jessie Ward of Arkansas; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

BALDWIN, Della Mae, 67, of Wapakoneta, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2002 in Plant City, Fla. Mrs. Baldwin was the daughter of Henry Ray and Julia Propst. She was born October 21, 1934 in Logan, West Virginia. She was preceded in death by her husband, Daryl `Pete` Baldwin; parents; two sisters; five brothers; and two grand-daughters. Mrs. Baldwin is survived by one brother, Ray Propst Jr.; three sons, Charlie Ray Christian (Mitchell Gross), Robert Wayne Christian (Maxine) and James Alden Christian (Teresa), all of Ohio; two daughters, Georgia Marcella Smith (Larry) and Wilma Ann Higginbotham (Steve), all of Florida; one step-daughter, Marissa Baldwin; 20 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Baldwin was a member of Victory Center Church of God, Wapakoneta, Ohio. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 26, 2002 in Haught Funeral Home Chapel in Plant City, Fla. Visitation will be held in Wapakoneta, Ohio, on Sunday, September 29, 2002, from 2-4:00 p.m., and 6-8:00 p.m., in Bayliff and Eley Funeral Home. BOYD, Margaret, 88, retired from the Florida State Board of Nursing, died of a stroke on September 9, 2002, at At Home with Friends in Tampa, where she resided the last three years. Mrs. Boyd was born in Blossburg, Pa., October 16, 1913. She graduated from he Arnot Ogden Hospital School of Nurses, Elmira, N.Y., in 1940 and received a Masters from Columbia University, NYC. In the early '40's sh e was an Army Reserve Nurse posted in Camp Rucker, Ala. She was, at that time, married to Robert Carl Boyd, also in the Army on the same Post. Her professional life included working in the Public Health Dept. in Cartersville, Ga., in nursing administration in hospitals in Atlanta and Augusta, Ga., and as Director of Nursing Service at both Spartanburg General Hospital in Spartanburg, S.C., and Arnot Ogden Hospital in Elmira, N.Y. in the '60's and early 70's, she was Hearing Officer and Coordinator of Licenses and Investigations for the Florida State Board of Nursing in Jacksonville and later had positions with the South Carolina State Board of Nursing in Columbia, S.C. and the Wisconsin State Board of Nursing in Madison, Wis. She retired from the nursing profession in 1977 and returned to Florida, living a couple of years in Lakeland and then settling in Tampa in 1979. Survivors include one daughter, Dotti Stone of Northern Virginia,; one son, James Boyd of North Georgia; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

BURCH, Norman J., 77, of Sun City Center, died September 22, 2002. Survived by his wife, Susan; two sons, Bradford M. and Jeffrey N.; two sisters, Kathryn Jackson and Yvonne Jackson, mother-in-law, Mary C. Smith; sister-in-law, Jean B. Ely; and four grandchildren, Adam, Laura, Becky and A.J. Burch. Memorial Service will be held 10 a.m. Monday, September 30, 2002 at the United Methodist Church of Sun City Center, 1210 Del Webb Boulevard West, Sun City Center, Fla. EHRLICH, David H., age 54, passed away Monday, September 23, 2002. He is survived by his loving wife, Deborah; two brothers, R. Eugene Ehrlich of Peoria Ill. and Michael Ehrlich of Denver, Col. and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. A memorial visitation will be held Friday, September 27, 2002 from 6-8 p.m. at Blount, Curry & Roel Funeral Homes, 3207 West Bearss Ave. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.

EIDT, Edward Henry, 87, of Tampa passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2002. He is survived by his wife, Ollie Faye Eidt; three nephews, Chester Becker, Richard Beech, and Donald Hardage; one niece, Joyce Davis; two sisters-in-law, Arlyne Beech and Betty Hardage. Mr. Eidt had been a member of MacDill Ave. Church of Christ and was currently a member of the Henderson Blvd Church of Christ. He was an overhead crane operator with Florida Portland Cement, and US Coast Guard Veteran of World War II. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 27, 2002, 2 p.m. at the Garden of Memories Chapel, 4207 E. Lake Ave. with Ron Drumm, Minister and Elder Ralph Walker, Sr. of the Henderson Blvd. Church of Christ officiating, interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to LifePath Hospice in his memory. The family will receive friends on hour prior to service.
