HIATT, Gary M., 66, of Valrico passed away Monday, Oct. 7, 2002. He is survived by his wife, Elvia Hiatt of Brandon; two sons, Michael Hiatt of Brandon and David Hiatt of Jefferson, Ga.; daughter, Lindy Greenlee of Wheaton, Ill.; and five grandchildren, Lori, Adam, Alex, Gage and Chloe Rosa. Gary was a U.S. Army veteran and was of the Catholic faith. He had been a volunteer firefighter for Palm River Volunteer Fire Dept. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 11, 2002 at Resurrection Catholic Church. The family will receive friends this evening (Thursday) from 6 til 8 p.m. at the Stowers Brandon Chapel.

HUNTER, Ira L., age 84, passed away October 8, 2002. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 11, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. at Central Baptist Church, CR 640. Visitation will be Thursday, October 10 from 6-8:00 p.m. in the chapel of A.M. Seigler Funeral Home, Mulberry, Fla. He was a native of Lithia, Florida. He was a member of Central Baptist Church of Lithia. He was a Supervisor at Agrico Chemical. He was a US Army veteran of World War II, having served in the tank division. He was preceded in death by his son, Lonnie Hunter and brother, Bevin Hunter. He is survived by his daughter, Pam Corbett of Lithia; brothers, J.W. Hunter and Doyle Hunter, both of Lithia; sisters, Theda Watson of Auburndale, Fla., Audry Seder of Lithia, Verna Sapp of Gainseville, Fla. and Dorothy Pelham of Auburndale; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. JEFFCOAT, Edward Acy `Eddie`, 46, of Tampa, went home to be with Jesus on October 6, 2002. Survivors include his mother, Loretta Jeffcoat and his father, John Acy Jeffcoat, Sr.; daughter, Stacy Marie Jeffcoat; grandmother, Beulah Mullings; two dogs, Ben and Bridget Jeffcoat; four sisters, Gail Decker, Vickey Brady, Tammy Hodge, and Rachel Brock; two brothers, Wayne Jeffcoat and Acy Jeffcoat, Jr.; wife, Elizabeth Jeffcoat; mother-in-law, Rita Haun; special friend, Tammy Jeffcoat; best friend, Patricia Herndon; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and co-workers. Mr. Jeffcoat was a member of the Castle Heights Baptist Church. He earned his PTec-HVAC Certification, numerous HVAC certificates, darts and bowler trophies. Mr. Jeffcoat also loved backgammon and wrestling and was a Dale Earnhardt fan. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 11, 2002, 2:00 p.m. at the Garden of Memories Chapel, 4207 E. Lake Avenue, with Rev. Richard Rodriquez officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m.

LEE, Bobby Joe, 61, of Tampa passed away on Tuesday, October 8, 2002. He is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Lou Lee, and is survived by his sons: Eric A. Lee and wife, Susie, and Jason B. Lee, daughter: Mary Ann Lee, grandchildren: Jessica and Jennifer Lee and Ashley and Mandy Lee, brothers: Larry Lee and Eugene Lee, all of Tampa, sister: Ruth Rivenbark of Plant City. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 11, 2002 at 12 Noon at the Garden of Memories Chapel. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Pallbearers will be David Rivenbark, Michael Lee, Richard Lee, Benny Nelson, David Allen and Bryan Allen. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jeff Vinning, Lou Alcala, Joey Coniglio, and Butch Slaughter. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

MACNICHOL, Marilee, Brandon, 87, of Riverview, passed away on Monday, October 7, 2002. Marilee moved to Washington D.C. at the age of 24 and worked as a Secretary for Senator Claude Pepper and Congressman James A. Haley. She returned home to Riverview 52 years later. She hosted many parties for visiting diplomats and was very successful in real estates investments. She is preceded in death by sisters, Grace, Thelma and Avis Brandon; and brothers, Raymond, Wells, Charles and Kenneth Brandon. She is survived by brother, John W. Brandon; sister-in-law, Rose Brandon, both of Ft. Pierce, Fla.; many loving and caring nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2002 at 8:00 p.m. at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home, 6919 Providence Rd., Riverview. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be held on Friday, October 11, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. at Brandon Family Cemetery, Pinewood Ave. N. and Brandon Blvd. Those who wish may make donations to LifePath Hospice, 3010 W. METCALF, Vivian, a five year thriver and survivor of ovarian cancer, peacefully ended her battle on October 8, 2002. She was surrounded by her family and friends in her Tampa home. She is survived by her husband, Terence; daughters, Catherine, Mary Melzer, and husband, Steve; granddaughter, Emma; her brother, William McGrath; and sisters, Marianne Scherl and Jean Campisi. Vivian was a nurse for over 40 years and worked at the Cincinnati VA Medical Center for over 15 years. She was an integral part of patient care, and touched the lives of many patients, their families and co-workers. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, October 10 at 10 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church, Tampa, Florida. A memorial service will be held in Cincinnati at the VA Medical Center, for more information contact Elaine Klingelhoffer. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Vivian Metcalf to Father Chris Kubeja for his work in Tanzania, care of Christ the King Catholic Church, 821 South Dale Mabry, Tampa, Florida 33609 or the VAMC-Fischer House 3200 Vine Street, Cincinnati, Ohio 45220. Fischer House provides temporary housing for veterans receiving treatments at the VA Medical Center.

MOHAR, Gregory J., 73, of Tampa passed away Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2002. He is survived by his wife, Margaret M. of Tampa; his son, Christopher Joseph Mohar and wife, Kandace of Tampa; his daughter, Celeste Mohar Sacks and husband, Scott of Weston, Fla.; a brother, Paul E. Mohar of Harrisburg, Pa.; four grandchildren, Christopher Joseph Mohar, Jr., and Alexandra Kristine Mohar both of Tampa, and Stephanie Casey Sacks and Noah Matthews Sacks both of Weston, Fla. A native of Harrisburg, Pa., Mr. Mohar lived in the Tampa Bay area since 1953, coming from Pa. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. Mr. Mohar was a career electronics engineer working in the U.S. Space program traveling world wide. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran, and member Amateur Radio Assoc., a Real Estate Broker, Certified Property Manager (CPM Lifetime Member), a charter member of the South Tampa Chamber of Commerce, active in civic affairs to include the preservation and development of Picnic Island and Kelton Health Clinic. A Funeral Mass will be conducted 10 a.m. Sat. Oct. 12, 2002 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, with interment to follow at Myrtle Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 9:15 a.m. until service time.

O'BRYANT, Mary Sue, 73, passed away October 7, 2002 at home. Mrs. O'Bryant was a member of the Daughters of the Nile and a Homemaker. She is survived by her son, Michael O'Bryant and daughter, Patricia O'Bryant; mother, Robbie Thomas; sister, Lucille Thomas Pounds; six grandchildren, Heather Looney, Sarah Looney, Ashley Looney, Michael O'Bryant, Amy O'Bryant and John O'Bryant. Services will be private and the family requests contributions to the American Cancer Society or the American Mental Health Association. MARK III FUNERAL HOME.

RAY, Rosemary R., 82, of Temple Terrace, passed away October 7, 2002. Mrs. Ray lived in the Temple Terrace area for 36 years and was a member of First Baptist Church of Temple Terrace. She was involved for many years in the local garden club and also served as an election volunteer for many years. She enjoyed doing ceramics and crafts. Survivors include her husband, Burman L., of Temple Terrace; son, Bill Nichols of Lakeland, Fla.; daughter, Beverly Nichole McHargue of Lakeland, Fla. sisters, Erie Cutrone of Ormond Beach, Fla., and Audrey Lewis of Port Orange, Fla.; grandchildren, Kelly Ronald, Robie Brown, Ted Brown, David Brown, all of Howell, Mich., and Sam Austrino of Columbia, Conn.; great-grandchildren, Jacqueline Ronald, Samuel Brown and Mia Nichole Brown. The family will receive friends from 12-1 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home with services beginning at 1 p.m. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Tampa. C.E. THUOTTE, Maurice, 73, passed away October 5, 2002. He was a member of the American Legion, the VFW and the Marine Corps League and had retired to Sun City Center in 1983. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian and is survived by his daughter, Joy Grunden; one grandson; one granddaughter; one great-granddaughter; many nieces and nephews; and sister-in-law, Carolyn Thuotte. A memorial service will be held on October 15 at 11:00 a.m. at the United Community Church on LaJolla Ave. in Sun City Center. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association or to the charity of one's choice.

TIRELLI, Francesco, 87, of Valrico, passed away Sunday, Oct. 6, 2002. He is survived by his wife, Maria del Carmen S.; sons, Frank H. and Angelo G.; daughters, Rose C. Tirelli and Maria C. Powell; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was born in Bari, Italy and was a U.S. Army World War II veteran. Francesco was a Civil Engineer for the Army Corps of Engineers. Worked for the N.Y. Dept. of Highway, building roads and bridges. Moved to Brandon area in 1979, where he worked for the Florida Dept. of Transportation for a few years. He was an active member of Nativity Catholic Church and was a member of Italian Club, Sons of Italy, Lions Club and Rotary Club. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, 2002 at Nativity Catholic Church.

CONNOLLY, Anita M., 90, of New Port Richey, died Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2002 at Community Hospital of New Port Richey. She was born in Lexington, Mass. and moved to New Port Richey from Goulden, Colo. in 1994. She was a homemaker. Survivors included her son, Harry Kellett of Richardson, Texas ; step-daughter, Pat Wilkins of New Port Richey; brother, Ed Hill of Tucson, Ariz.; sister, Edith Van Winkle of Goulden, Colo.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. AQUILINA, Raymond T., D.D.S., 52, of Lithia, Fla., died October 5, 2002 under the loving care of LifePath Hospice. He was a dentist and served in the US Air Force. He was a member of Kings Avenue Baptist Church and the Rotary. Survivors include his wife, LaGretta; two daughters, Jessica Wharton and Linda Aquilina; his parents, Emma and Thomas Aquilina; and two sisters, Debbie Aquilina and Eileen Glass. BAGGETT, Mattie E., 85, of Holiday, formerly of Tampa, passed away October 9, 2002. She was preceded in death by her husband, Holden Baggett. She is survived by her sons, Martin Schramm and Melvin E. BLOUNT, Robert Glenn, 80, of Tampa, passed away Wednesday, October 9, 2002. He is survived by his wife, Jackie Weeks Blount; sons, Robert D. Blount, Darren G. Blount and Donald W. Telander; daughters, Carol Ann Harrington, Patricia Wilson and Karen Carlisle; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Born February 4, 1922 in Tampa, Fla., he served in the US Army in World War II at the invasion of Normandy. He was a University of Florida Graduate with a degree in Chemical Engineering, a retired Water Production Manager for the City of Tampa Water Dept., and a member of both John Darling Masonic Lodge and Egypt Temple Shrine.
