GUERGAWI, Samir Nassif, M.D., F.R.C.S., 77, passed away peacefully Sunday, October 20, 2002. Dr. Guergawi was born in Mahala, Egypt. Upon receiving his medical training in Cairo he subsequently earned a Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh, Scotland. For the past twenty two years he resided in Pinellas County practicing general surgery at Mease Hospitals, Largo Medical Center, and Clearwater Community Hospital, where he cared for many and many cared for him. He was married for forty years to his beloved wife Nadia, who passed away in May, 1999. Dr. Guergawi was a man of healing as well as a true scholar. His motivation in life was an overwhelming love for his family as well as his desire to help all of those who surrounded him. Samir had an unmatched passion for research and love of academics. His interests included religion, medicine, science and the arts. He is survived by his sister, Yvette; his four children, Kevin, Dina, Mark and Michael; and his grandchildren, Brianna and Mathew. God bless him on his journey and may he rest in peace. Visitation will be Wednesday, Oct. 23, from 6-8 p.m. at Moss Feaster Palm Harbor Chapel. A memorial service will be hel d 11 a.m. Thursday, October 24, 2002 at St. Michael the Archangel Church in Clearwater. HEINZ, Delphine M., 93, of Holiday, died Sunday, October 20, 2002 at Community Hospital of New Port Richey. She was born in Niles Center, Illinois and moved to Holiday from Fort Thomas, Ariz. in 1996. She was a horse breeder and owned a horse farm in Fort Thomas, Ariz. and was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Holiday. Survivors include her nephew, John A. Metko of Holiday; and her great-nephew, Doug E. Metko of Holiday. A memorial mass will be held Friday, October 25, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.

LOVELACE, H. Lewis, 66, of Heritage Pines in Hudson, died Monday, October 21, 2002 at his residence under the care of Hernando-Pasco Hospice. He was a native of Greenville, Mississippi and a resident of this area for the past three years coming from Delmar, New York. He was a sales manager for Sisco Food Distributors, a member of Heritage Pines Golf Club where lie was an active golfer and founder of the Mens' Bible Study at Heritage Pines, and a member of First United Methodist Church in Spring Hill. Survivors include his wife of 13 years, Patricia; two sons, David Lewis Lovelace of Saratoga Springs, N.Y., and Jay Herbert Lovelace, Palm City, Fla.; two daughters, Cynthia Ann Durkee of Greenland, N.H., and Cheryl Lynn Clark, York Beach, Maine; and seven grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, October 24, 2002, at the First United Methodist Church in Spring Hill with the Reverend Ron Daniels officiating. The family suggests that donations may be made to Hernando-Pasco Hospice.

MacDONALD, Marion G., 92, of New Port Richey, passed away on October 21, 2002 at Madison Pointe Nursing Center in New Port Richey. She moved to Florida in 1967 from her native Chicago, Ill. and was a homemaker. She is survived by one son, Hubert `Skip` MacDonald of New Port Richey; two daughters, Joy Susan MacDonald of New Port Richey and Janet Ann Karowsky of Chicago; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. McGARRY, Renee C., 83, of New Port Richey, died Sunday, October 20, 2002 at Community Hospital, New Port Richey. Born in Burlington, Iowa, she was the retired owner of a ladies boutique in Davenport, Iowa. She was a member of the Community Congregational Church in New Port Richey and the Gulf Harbors Yacht Club. She was a former member of the Women's Club of Gulf Harbors Condominiums. She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael McGarry and her son Dr. Steven Cable. Survivors include her dear friend and companion, Dale Dunkle of New Port Richey; her daughter, Carolyn Lutyens of Naperville, Ill.; two sisters, Lorraine LaRock of Sparks, Nev. and Betty June Lindy of Burlington, Iowa; her nieces, Marcia Edwards of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Angela Hawkins of Rockwell City, Iowa and Janice Haggerty of Sparks, Nev.; and her nephew, Kevin LaRock of Calif. Visitation will be Thursday, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. with a funeral service by Reverend Dr. Daniel V. Horn on Friday at 11 a.m. at North Meadowlawn Funeral Home, New Port Richey, (727) 849-9281. In remembrance, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.

ROBERTSON, Robert S., 87, of New Port Richey, died October 19, 2002 at Helen Ellis Memorial Hospital, Tarpon Springs. Born in Tipton, Indiana , he came here 12 years ago from New York City, N.Y. He was a construction manager for Phillip Morris, Inc. Robert was a Sergeant in the US Marine Corps and served in World War II and Korea. He was an Episcopalian. His memberships include the Dupont Lodge #289 in Hopewell, Va., the ACCA Shrine Temple in Richmond, Va. and the Scottish Rite Consistory, Valley of Richmond. He is survived by his wife, Argero `Jerri`; two daughters, Linda Krucks of Winnetka, Ill. and Robin Nelson of Orlando, Fla.; and seven grandchildren. SAAMUNDSEN, Florence H., 91, of Hudson, formerly of Holiday and Port Richey, passed away on October 17, 2002 at her residence. Born in Queens County, N.Y., she moved to Florida 15 years ago from Waverly, Ohio. She was a retired bookkeeper for Met Life Insurance Company. She was a Presbyterian and was a life member of the Order of the Eastern Star Pyramid Chapter #594, Babylon, N.Y. She is survived by her caregiver, Sheila Clark of Hudson; two nephews, William Hartford of New York, N.Y. and Robert Hartford of Matthews, N.C.; and a niece, Doris Hartford of Pacific Palissades, Calif. SHREVE, Elmah, 96, of New Port Richey, passed away on October 19, 2002 at Whispering Pines Nursing Center in New Port Richey. Born in St. Charles, Mich., she moved to Florida 32 years ago from Reese, Mich. She was a retired cook and bartender and was a protestant. There are no known survivors. National Cremation Society, New Port Richey, Fla.

SOMMERVILLE, Mildred J., 81, of Hudson, Fla., passed away Sunday October 20, 2002 at Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point. Born in Fairfield, Iowa, she came to Hudson 18 years ago from Fond Du Lac, Wis. She was a homemaker and Protestant. Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Maxwell `Max`; three sons, Stephen of El Paso, Texas , Richard of Hudson, Fla., and James of Stevens Point, Wis.; two daughters, Bonnie Sommerville of St. Petersburg, Fla. and Julie Lloyd of Fond Du Lac; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be Thursday October 24, 2002 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Family Funeral Care 13011 U.S. 19 Hudson, FL 34667 Inurnment at Florida National Cemetery at a later date.

TURK, Mary J., 63, of New Port Richey, died Sunday, October 20, 2002 at North Bay Medical Center, New Port Richey. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio and moved to New Port Richey from Medina, Ohio in 2000. She assisted mentally and handicapped children at school. Survivors include husband, Harold L. Turk of New Port Richey; two sons, Greg A. Turk of New Port Richey and Brad A. Turk of Medina, Ohio; daughters, Anita Pelton of Medina, Ohio; three grandchildren.

WELLMAN, Wilbert `Will` E., 82, of Port Richey, Florida, died Monday, Oct. 21, 2002 at North Bay Medical Center, New Port Richey, Fla. He was born in Moundsville, West Virginia and moved here from Wheeling, W.Va. in 1960. He retired as the superintendent of Utilities for the City of Port Richey, after 21 years of service. He had been the former Fire Chief of Port Richey Fire Department for 15 years and had served on the Fire Department for 25 years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of New Port Richey. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Beuna E. Wellman of Port Richey; sons, Larry Wellman of Hudson, and Tommy Wellman of Port Richey; daughter, Linda K. Vollmer of Oldsmar, Fla.; brother, Kermit Wellman of Florida; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, Oct. 24, from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Dobies Funeral Homes, 6616 Congress St., New Port Richey, FL 34653.

ASHER, Beryl,63, of Tampa died Oct. 21, 2002. She was born in Harrisburg, Pa., and is a member of the Idlewild Baptist Church. She is survived by her son, Richard Asher; sisters, Barbara Warner and Beverley Keefer; grandchildren, Ashley Asher and Richard Asher II. Interment will be private. BOOTH, Dorothy Marie, 72, of Plant City, died Oct. 21, 2002. Survived by her loving family. Visitation will be Oct. 23 from 6-8 p.m. with services on Oct. 24 at 11 a.m., both at Wells Memorial Funeral Home.

BROWN, Geraldine `Jen`, age 69, of Lakeland, died Oct. 20, 2002. She is survived by her husband, Gerald Brown; two sons; and three grandchidren.

CAISSIE, Ernest J., 86, of Tampa, passed away October 21, 2002 in Tampa. He is survived by his wife, Gertrude Caissie of Tampa; son, William Caissie and wife, Nancy of Manchester, New Hampshire; daughter, Nancy Riendeau and husband, Paul of Candia, New Hampshire; brother, Raymond Caissie and wife, Gerry of Texas ; six grandchildren; and one great-grandson. Mr. Caissie served in the Air Force during World War II and is a member of the American Legion Post 91 of Candia, New Hampshire, he has been employed for Tampa Bay Downs for the last 14 years.

CLARK, Travis D., of Tampa, passed away Oct. 17, 2002. He is survived by his mother, Ernestine Clark; and one brother, Christopher (Tameka) Clark of Tampa.

COCHRAN, James `Jimmy` E., 47, of Brandon, Fla., passed away Thursday, Oct. 17, 2002. Survivors include his lifelong companion, Elene Sclavakis; their children, Tyler James and Taylor Ann Cochran; and an endless ring of friends. A native of Detroit, Mich., he was a resident of Brandon for 47 years and a self employed painting contractor. He coached the Brandon Cowboys football team, North Brandon Asteroid's and North Brandon Devil Rays. Memorial services will be held at Stowers Brandon Chapel Thursday, Oct. 24, 2002 at 7 p.m., conducted by Reverend Lynn Sayne. Friends will be received one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Those who wish may make contributions to an established fund for Tyler James Cochran and Taylor Ann Cochran (Jimmy's children) at the Suncoast School Federal Credit Union in Jimmy's memory.

CORNWELL, Hazel B., 73, a resident of Riverview, passed away October 20, 2002. She is preceded in death by her son, Larry James Sprouse; and one grandchild. Survivors include five sons, David R. Sprouse, Gary Wayne Sprouse, Bobby Eugene Sprouse, Gerald Dean Sprouse and Steven Ernie Sprouse; one daughter, Beverly Kay Allen; five sisters, Georgie Wright, Dorothy Varney, Grace Schaffer, Donna McMillian and Betty Condon; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and her friend, Bill Brouse. Mrs. Cornwell was a regular donator for the Hillsborough County Fire and Rescue. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 23, 2002 at 3:30 p.m. from Hopewell Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Hopewell Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

She was a native of Louisville, Ky. and worked as a concessionaire in the outdoor amusement industry. Dorothy and Robert were charter members of the Greater Tampa Showmen's Association.

FETTER, Pearl `Little Pearl`, 50, Passed away Oct. 7, 2002. She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert B. Drawdy, and her sister, Jeannette R. Johnson. Survivors include her husband, Russell; a son, Paul Dupree; mother, Pearl R. Giddens; two brothers, Ronald and Thomas Drawdy; four sisters, Loretta Lague, Barbara Smith, Carol Fetter, Shirley Grossenbacher; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a resident of the Tampa area 45 years coming from Brunswick, Ga., and of the Baptist faith. A memorial service will be held at Stowers Brandon Chapel Wednesday (today), Oct. 23, 2002, at 7 p.m. The family will receive friends half an hour prior to services at the funeral home.

FLYNN, Bonnie, born October 17, 1930, Chicago, Ill., passed away October 16, 2002 at St. Joseph's Hospital, Tampa. Mrs. Flynn graduated from Tampa University and the University of South Florida. She taught in elementary schools in South Tampa and retired from Dale Mabry Elementary School in 1992. Survivors are husband, Rudy Flynn; sons, Randy Flynn of Tampa and Terry Flynn of Lakeland; brother, Joe Powell of Loma Linda, Calif.; and grandson, John William `J.W.` Flynn of Lakeland. The family will receive friends at 9 a.m. Saturday at Bayshore Baptist Church, 3111 Morrison Ave., Tampa. Services will follow at 10 a.m. at the Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pancreatic Cancer Research, American Cancer Society.
