KING, Daniel J.R. 75, of Port Richey, died Thursday, October 24, 2002 at home in Port Richey. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio and moved to Port Richey from Chesterland, Ohio in 1978. He was a commercial carpenter for Hattenbach Construction Co. in Ohio; a veteran of the US Army Air Corps during World War II; and of the Catholic faith. Survivors include his son, Mark Scott King of Port Richey; his daughter, Patricia Jean King of New Port Richey; and two grandchildren, Shandell Marie King and Christopher Scott King, both of Largo.

LOWRY, Helen S., 94, of New Port Richey, Fla., passed away on October 22, 2002 at Park Place ALF in New Port Richey. Born in Hungary, she moved to Florida in 1968 from Bridgman, Mich. She was a retired Registered Nurse and served in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps in the European Theatre during World War II. She was a member of the American Legion Post #122 for over 50 years, a member of the DAV Chapter #78, the Women's Overseas Service League, and the American Nurses Association. She is survived by one brother, John J. Soos of New Port Richey; a nephew; and two nieces.

SEIDLER, Mary Louise, 90, of Zephyrhills, passed away October 23, 2002 in Dade City. Survived by her daughter, Patricia Barnhart of Peoria, Ariz.; a son, David Howard Seidler of Loudon, Tenn.; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Services will be held in La Porte, Tenn. Mary was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church and came to the Zephyrhills area 25 years ago from La Porte, Tenn.

SMITH, George W., 78, of New Port Richey, passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2002 at home. He came here eight years ago from his birthplace, Jamestown, New York. He was a machine operator for Art Metal Co., Jamestown and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was also a member of King of Glory Lutheran Church. He is survived by his wife, Mavis L.; three sons, Daryl Smith of Lakewood, N.Y., Bradley Smith of Houston, Texas and David Smith of Pineland, Texas ; three daughters, Georgette Covert of Lakewood, N.Y., Trudy Bosko of Goodview, Va. and Jennifer Stafford of Jamestown, N.Y.; three brothers; and six grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Sunday, Oct. 27 from 2-4:00 p.m. at Michels & Lundquist Funeral Home, where a service will be held on Monday at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Fla. BARRINGER, James E. `Jim`, Dr., age 59, of Tampa, passed away October 23, 2002. A native of Glendale, California and resident of Tampa for the past 32 years, Dr. Barringer was a History Professor at Hillsborough Community College for 32 years. He is survived by his loving wife, Shelly Ann Barringer; children, Lisa, Jimmy, Brianna and Rohan; step-mother, Katherine Barringer; brothers, John, Tom and Frank Barringer; and siblings, Edward Philip `Rusty` and Ann Heck. Funeral Services will be held Monday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. at Oakwood Community Church, 11209 Casey Road, with the Rev. Paul Phair, Pastor, officiating. Cremation will follow. Reception will follow at church for family and friends. In lieu flowers, contributions may be made to Hillsborough Community College Foundation, c/o Dr. Adrienne Garcia, District Office, P.O. Box 31127, Tampa, FL 33631-3127 in memory of Dr. Barringer. The family will receive friends Monday afternoon from 2:30 p.m. until time of service at church.

BURNETT, Evelyn, 91, of Tampa, died Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2002. Survivors include her daughter, Linda Burnett Peterson and her husband, Felix of Tampa; a granddaughter, Virginia Guerra LeNoir and her husband, Jerry of Tavernier, Fla.; and two great-grandchildren, Lukas LeNoir and Ginger LeNoir. Mrs. Burnett was a member of Port Tampa United Methodist Church. A funeral service will be held at 10:0 0 a.m. Saturday at the graveside in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Dr. Sam Ramirez, Pastor of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church of Lakeland will officiate. Those attending are requested to meet at the cemetery.

CANNON, Velma Louise, 79, of Plant City, entered into rest on October 23, 2002. She was a homemaker, a Baptist and a loving wife, mother and friend. She is survived by her husband, Hershell; daughter, Paula Fritz and husband, Bruce; sisters, Annie Hill and Maggie Thompson; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 25, 2002 from 3-5 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., with services to follow Saturday at 10 a.m., both at Turkey Creek First Baptist Church, 4915 W. Trapnell Road, Plant City, Ph# 752-7890.

CODRINGTON, BETTYE D., 78, of Sun City Center, Fla., died October 23, 2002. She and her husband, Clay were the former owners of the Plant City Courier and founders of the Brandon News. She was a Silver Life Master Bridge Player. Survived by two sons, Courtney of Olympia, Washington and Craig of Plant City, Fla.; a daughter, Kaye of Ashville, N.C.; a brother, Dean Donelson of Central City, Nebraska; and a sister, Sally Straney of Evergreen, Colorado. COOK, Margaret `Peggy,` 83, of Sun City Center, passed away on October 24, 2002 in her home. She was a resident of the area since 1976, coming from Limestone, Maine. She was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church and a U.S. Navy Veteran. She is survived by her daughter, Alison Lewandowski of Sun City Center; son, Steven Cook of Mobile, Ala.; brother, Alfred Smith of Mexico, Maine; sisters, Elvera Cocca of Melbourne, Fla., Anita O'Connell of Sun City Center and Alfreda Kaubris of Rumford, Maine and Sun City Center; grandchildren, Alissa Marie Lewandowski and Evan Taylor Lewandowski; and several nieces and nephews including, Herbie and Vicki Popple, Emily Parrulli and Jonathan Popple. Memorial Services will be held Saturday, October 26, 2002 at 4 p.m., in the chapel of Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home. CUNNINGHAM, Beaulah, age 84, who passed away Sunday, October 20, 2002, was the third oldest child to the late G.S. and Janette Cunningham. She resided in Bealsville, Florida and was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. She was predeceased by her brother, F. Malcolm Cunningham, Sr., Esq. and left surviving are her six sisters and brothers; Ida Price White (John), Elvenia Johnson, Rena C. Turner, G.S. Cunningham, Jr., (Johnnie), John W. Cunningham (Isabella), T.J. Cunningham, Esq. (Barbara); a host of nieces, nephews and friends; and a special friend and caretaker, Mrs. Marie McCloud. Services will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2002 at 1:00 p.m. at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church Plant City (Bealsville) Florida.

DENNARD, Esmeralda C., (Pinky), 75, of Tampa, passed away October 23, 2002 in Tampa. Survivors include her husband, John H. Dennard; sons, Robert Manser and wife, Marilyn and Michael Manser and wife, Linda; daughter, Deborah Rhoads and husband, Jeff, all of Tampa; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. EDMONDSON, Doris P., 83, of John Knox Village in Tampa, passed away October 24, 2002. She was the wife of Frank M. Edmondson for 59 years until his passing on November 14, 2002. She is survived by one son, Frank M. Edmondson Jr. of Houston, Texas ; two daughters, Judy Thompson of Treasure Island, Fla. and Beverly Smith of Longwood, Fla.; two sisters, Carol York and Margie Henderson; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was a charter and longtime member of Riverside Baptist Church and most recently, Carrollwood Baptist Church. A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 26 at 3 p.m. at Carrollwood Baptist Church, 5395 Ehrlich Rd. GADSDEN, Robert Godin, III, 62, of Tampa, passed away on Wednesday, October 23, 2002. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Jr. and Virginia. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Lynne Taylor Gadsden; a daughter, Candace Gadsden Sierra and her husband, Christopher Michael Sierra of Treasure Island; two granddaughters, Jessica Candace Sierra and Megan Nicole Sierra; a son, Christopher Todd Gadsden and his wife, Kristin Clark Gadsden of Brea, California; granddaughter, Phoebe Jane Gadsden; and grandson, Christopher Clark Gadsden. Bob graduated from H.B. Plant High School in 1958 and the University of South Florida in 1967, where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. He was also a veteran of the United States Navy, serving from 1958 to 1961. During college, he was a co-op student with Tampa Electric Company and upon graduation, joined TECO in Customer Service. In 1970, Bob transferred to the TECO Data Processsing where he remained until he joined Peoples Gas System in 1985, where he was promoted to Director of MIS in 1989. Upon the merger of Peoples Gas and TECO, Bob rejoined TECO and served until his retirement in July, 2001, following 36 years of total service. Bob was a dedicated family man, enjoying every opportunity to be with his children and grandchildren. He was an enthusiastic golfer, enjoying many hours on the links with his friends. He also followed the football fortunes of the Florida Gators and his beloved USF Bulls. Bob loved music, spending weekends tinkering with his guitars and keyboards in his den. He was an avid amateur historia n, belonging to the Tampa Historical Society, Tampa Bay History Center, South Carolina Historical Society and the National Trust for Historic Preservation. He was appointed to the Hillsborough County Historical Advisory Council in 2002. He was loved by all who knew him and will be missed each day. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to LifePath Hospice. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 26, 2002 in the chapel of Blount, Curry & Roel Funeral Home, 605 S. MacDill Avenue. Pastor Scott Collins will officiate. The family will greet friends following the service.

HERNANDEZ, Jose R. `Kike`, age 72, of Tampa, Fla., passed away October 23, 2002 in Tampa. Survivors include his wife, Hortensia Hernandez; sons, Jose E., Carlos, Ariel and Humberto Hernandez; daughters, Georgina and Ofelia Hernandez; brother, Leon Hernandez; and two grandchildren, Andy and Natalie. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 26, 2002 at the Blount Curry & Roel Armenia Chapel, 4730 N. Armenia Ave. with Rev. David Leyva officiating. PALLADINO, John Daniel, 66, died Oct. 23, 2002. He was the Assistant Academic Dean and a Professor at Florida Metropolitan University. He received his Master's Degree from the University of Florida and was an avid Gator fan. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Tampa. Predeceased by his parents, Sydney Andrew and Margaret Carey Palladino; and his brother, Joseph Phillip Palladino. Survived by daughters, Christina Gannon and Alisha Palladino; grandson, Christopher Bryon Turner; granddaughter, Shayla Gannon; brother, Thomas B. Palladino; sisters, Dolores Irvine, Martha Delgado, Alice Beckwith, and Michelle Tyson; and 12 nieces and nephews, Donna Wishart, Daniel Irvine, Joseph Palladino, Florence Palladino, Ruth Lukancich, Tony Delgado, Thomas Delgado, Marianne Valentine, Terry Almaguer, Denise Muscatell, Wendy Snow, and Johnny Beckwith. Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Visitation from 6-7 p.m. Sunday with the Wake Service at 7 p.m. at the MacDill Avenue Chapel.
