HOLTKAMP, Clarence L., Major, USAF Ret., 85, of Brandon, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2002. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Helen Hawkins Holtkamp. Survivors include his son, Michael L. Holtkamp and his wife, Loretta of Temple Terrace, Fla. and their two children, Michelle and Martin; sister, Hilda Holtkamp Horne and her husband, Clyde of West Acton, Mass.; step-daughter, Sarah McGivney, her five children and their 10 children. Born to Charles and Lillie Franke Holtkamp on November 28, 1916 in Oenaville, Texas , he moved to the Tampa Bay area 37 years ago coming from McGuire Air Force Base, N.J. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in Nov. 1938 in Randolph Field, Texas and retired July 1, 1964 from McGuire Air Force Base, N.J. 305 Air Refueling SQ, SAC. He served in Germany, Japan, Puerto Rico and the U.S. He also worked as a Letter Carrier with the U.S. Postal Service in Brandon, Fla. from June 1966 to Feb. 1977. Clarence was a life-time member of the Retired Officers Association, a member of the Reserve Officer Association and the V.F.W. Post - Brandon. Funeral services will be held at the Stowers Brandon Chapel Saturday, Nov. 2, 2002 at 11 a.m. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Those who wish may make contributions to the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

HUNT, Pearl van Zandt, 87, of Kings Point Sun City Center, Fla., died October 29, 2002. She retired as a statistician for the textile industry and was an active participant of the coffee hour and a member at St John the Divine Episcopal Church. She was also a long standing member of the Orange Blossom Chapter of the Questers. Survivors include her son, F. de Forrest van Zandt; daughter, Pamela M. van Zandt; a sister, Doris Moreau; and niece, Beverly Germano. Funeral Service will be 11 a.m. Friday, November 1, 2002 at St John the Divine Episcopal Church, State Road 674, Ruskin, Fla., with Reverend Tracy Wilder III, officiating. Following the funeral service, the family will host a reception at Kings Point Club House Main Banquet Room. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to the St John the Divine Capital Fund, P.O. Box 87, Ruskin, FL, 33575. LANE, Floyd Jr., 74, of Lakeland, died October 25, 2002. He is survived by his wife, Eileen; sons, Gregory Lane and Douglas Lane and wife, Dana; daughter, Debra Lane Pion and husband, Rick, all of Lakeland; brothers, Claude, Lester, and Dale Lane, all of Michigan; sister, Elizabeth Holcombe of Tarpon Springs; and one grandchild. Graveside services will be held on Monday, November 4, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. in East Oaklawn Cemetery with Rev. Harley Olson officiating.

LONGO, Anthony Pupello (Tony), 95, passed away Oct. 30, 2002 at Kindred Hospital. He was preceded in death by, his spouse, Josephine Pupello; brothers, Paul and Frank Longo; sisters, Felicia Pitisci and Vincenzina Leto. He is survived by Catherine Mistretta Longo, his beloved wife of 48 years; daughter, Josie Diaz and Sylvia Carmen Lorenzo; grandchildren, Tony Diaz, Terri Diaz Poe, Dennis Lorenzo, Jr., and Douglas Lorenzo; seven grandchildren. Mr. Longo was a lifelong native of Tampa. He retired from Thom McAnn Shoe company after 31 years where he was employed as store manager and auditor, followed by association with the Art-Romany Tile and Terrazzo company for 16 years as an estimator. Mr. Longo was three-term past state President of the Travelers Protective Association, Lifetime member of L'Unione (Italian Club), member of the Sons of Italy, La Nuova Sicilia Lodge No. 1251, and past President of the Columbus Association of Tampa. Pallbearers are, Tony Diaz, Dennis Lorenzo, Jr., Bennie Diaz, Gene Teston, Sr., Joseph Teston, and Gene Teston, Jr; Honorary Pallbearers are, Henry Giglio, Guy St. Paul, Frank Pupello. The family wishes to express their appreciation to the following for their compassionate wonderful care of Tony, LifePath Hospice purple team, Diana Torres and staff at Buena Vida Residence Assisted Living Facility, 6th floor nurses at St. Joseph's Hospital and nurses and staff at Kindred Hospital and to Dr. Rudolfo Sumulong, and his physician for many years. A wake will be held, Friday, Nov. 1, 2002 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Henderson Blvd, chapel, 404 0 Henderson Blvd. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Sat. Nov 2, 2002 at the funeral home, with interment to follow at La Unione Italiana Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted or donations can be made to LifePath Hospice in his behalf or to any charity of your choice.

MULLINS, Cecil A., age 83, of Tampa, passed away October 31, 2002. A native of Nicholas County, West Virginia and resident of Tampa since 1960, Mr. Mullins was a U.S. Army veteran of World War lI, a member of West Broad St. Baptist Church and a retired Coal Miner. He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Eugene Mullins and is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Helen; sons, Paul Everett Mullins and wife, Linda and Gerald Cecil Mullins and wife, Mary; brothers, Okey Allen Mullins and John Burl Mullins; sisters, Esther Bell Greenhaw, Virginia Bragg and Nettie Mullins; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at West Broad St. Baptist Church, 3809 W. Broad St. with Dr. Kevin M. Abrens, Pastor, officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to H. Lee Moffit Cancer Center and Research Institute Foundation, Inc. in memory of Mr. Mullins. Inurnment will follow at a later date at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida with full military honors.

Born January 24, 1939 in San Felipe, Yaracuy, Venezuela, Myrna came to the Tampa Bay area in 1999 from Caracas, Venezuela to help raise her granddaughter born January 5, 2000. She is survived by her daughter, Sylvia Isabel Sadofsky-Saavedra and husband, Brian Sadofsky of Lutz, Fla.; granddaughter, Brianna Isabella Sadofsky of Lutz, Fla.; and sister and brothers, Gladys Quiroga de Morales, William, Oswaldo, Marcial, Francisco and Freddy Quiroga of Venezuela. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2:15 p.m. at the chapel of Gonzalez Funeral Home. He resided with his daughter, Ellen Knipp and is survived by his son, David and other daughters, Sharon, Joan and Caroll; 15 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. SKLENAR, Josephine, 90, of Riverview, Florida, went to be with her Lord on October 30, 2002. Mrs. Sklenar is preceded in death by her husband, John M. Sklenar, Sr., and her grandson, Brian R. Sklenar. She is survived by her son, John M. Sklenar and his wife, Ada; daughter, Helen `Suzy` Boggs and her husband, Jim; sister, Angela Salaski; step-sister, Clara Skrabski; and her grandchildren, Tanya Boggs, Jay Sklenar and Tammy Boggs. Mrs. Sklenar will be missed dearly by all who knew her. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2002, at 12:00 p.m. at Blount Curry & Roel Funeral Home, Garden of Memories Chapel, 4207 E. BROCK, Steven `Mark`, 33, of Dade City, died Wednesday, October 30, 2002 in Brooksville. Funeral services will be held TODAY at 2 p.m. at the Chapel Hill Gardens Mausoleum Chapel. Burial will follow at Floral Memory Gardens. A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, he had been a lifelong resident of Dade City. He is survived by one son, Joshua Brock of Dade City; one daughter, Christin Cessna of Dade City; two sisters, Kimberly Tait of Dade City and Jessie Riley of Dade City; his father, Earl Brock of Hazelgreen, Ky.; his grandmother, Jessie Holt of Dade City; four nephews; one niece; one great-nephew; and step-father, Thomas Yingling. Friends and family are requested to meet at Chapel Hill Gardens TODAY at 1 p.m.

COLE, John, 71, of Zephyrhills, passed away October 30, 2002 in Dade City. Survived by his wife, Violet Cole of Zephyrhills; a son, John David Cole of Hannibal, Mo.; a daughter, Jakye Lynn Cadwell of Hannibal, Mo.; a step-daughter, Pamela Huther of Madison, Ala.; three grandchildren; two sisters; and a brother. He was born June 17, 1931 in Hannibal, Mo. He was an Insurance Salesman, and came to the Zephyrhills area 10 years ago from Lakeland, Fla.

GAZELLA, James F., 78, Zephyrhills, passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2002 at Hernando-Pasco Hospice House in Dade City. Mr. Gazella was born October 16, 1924 in Ionia, Mich. to a Francis and Mildred Gazella. He was proud to serve his country in the United States Navy, as a Pharmacist mate, during World War II (Pacific). Mr. Gazella was a Funeral Director for 10 years, after which he traveled from Michigan to Florida doing food concessions at local fairs. He was a life time member of the VFW in Marianna, Fla. and a member of the American Legion and Showmens' Association of Tampa. He has lived in this area for 26 years. He leaves behind a loving family. James is survived by his wife of 51 years, Jean; three daughters, Jeannine (James and Jeff) Gazella of Zephyrhills, Michelle and Bruce Gotthardt of Carroll, Ohio and Susan Gazella of Stuart, Fla; three sons, Richard and Lisa Gazella of Carson City, Mich., James Gazella Jr. of Crystal, Mich and Gerard and Lori Gazella of Chesterfield, Mich.; two brothers; six sister; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Sal enjoyed pigeon racing, and spending time with his family. He is predeceased by his brother, Anthony Saldo. He is survived by his beloved wife: Marie of Spring Hill; two daughters: Lisa Saldo of Spring Hill; Rosemarie and her husband, Kevin O'Kane of Red Hook, NY; one son: Anthony Saldo of Spring Hill; one sister: Genevieve Downey of Oldsmar; four grandchildren: Kerrin; Meghan; Anthony and Ryan. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church on November 4, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Raymond O'Neill officiating. Sal will be laid to rest at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell following the service.
