TAYLOR, Gene, 78, passed away October 30, 2002 in Zephyrhills, Florida. Mr. Taylor was born in Marion, N.C. and moved here in 1994 from Black Mt. N.C. Mr. Taylor was an Army veteran of World War II, and a member of the D.A.V. charter #65 of Zephyrhills. Survivors include his wife, Delphia; and daughters, Judy Murphy of Marietta. Ga., Kay Taylor of Hillsboro, Oregon and Abbie Taylor Beaver of Alpharette, Ga.; and four grandchildren. Services will be held in North Carolina.

TRAVER, George Deal, 86, of New Port Richey, died Wednesday, October 30, 2002 at home. He was born in New York City, New York and moved to New Port Richey from St. Louis, Mo. in 1998. He was an investment broker for Loeb, Rhodes & Co. on Wall Street in New York, an Army Air Corps Veteran of World War II, a member of the Episcopal faith, member American Legion Post #79, New Port Richey, Member VFW, Member Veterans of the 7th Regiment of New York City, and a member of the China-Burma-India Veterans Association. Survivors include son, George R. Traver of California; two daughters, M. Cynthia Rahm of St. Louis, Mo., and Jane T. Scott of North Port, N.Y.; two sisters, Edith `Peg` Sappington and Florence Sundem, both of New Port Richey; and five grandchildren.

WHEATLEY, Thomas Edward, 64, of Ridge Manor, Fla., passed away Thursday, October 31, 2002 in Dade City. He is survived by his wife, Debra Wheatley; five sons, Dennis Wheatley, Kenny Wheatley, Tim Wheatley, Greg Wheatley and Jeremy Wheatley; one daughter, Nicole Wheatley; and seven grandchildren, L.J., Abbie, Wade, Lacy, Kyle, Jessica, and Brian. He was preceded in death by one son, Bill Wheatley. He was born July 23, 1938 in Louisville, Ky., and moved to this area 30 years ago from Jeffersonville, Ind. He was a production supervisor in the citrus industry. He was a past member of the Jaycee's and was an avid bowler. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2002 at the Hodges Family Funeral Home with Pastor G.W. Carroll officiating. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

WHITING, Kenneth Alva, 71, of Aripeka, Florida, died Wednesday, October 30, 2002 at Shands at the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida. He was born in Ripley, West Virginia and moved to Aripeka from Ripley, W.Va. in 1957. He was a retired electrician for Florida Power Corp. and a US Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict. His memberships included the Northcliffe Baptist Church of Spring Hill; the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local #308 in St. Petersburg, Fla.; and the Masonic Lodge in Ripley, W.Va. He and his wife, Yvonne also work as missionaries in Brazil, Jamaica and Suriname, South America. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Yvonne S. Whiting of Aripeka; two sons, John K. Whiting of Dahlonego, Ga. and Mark C. Whiting of Brooksville, Fla.; two daughters, Deborah W. Congo of Aripeka Highlands, Fla. and Cynthia W. Barber of Spring Hill, Fla.; three sisters, Sybil Stephens, Macil LeMunyan and Eileen Kerwood, all of Ripley, W.Va.; five grandchildren; and one great-grandson. Visitation will be Sunday, November 3, 2002 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Dobies Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Monday, November 4, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. at Northcliffe Baptist Church. Burial following at Aripeka Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Northcliffe Baptist Church Mission Fund or the American Cancer Society.

WRIGHT, Grace L., 83, of New Port Richey, died Wednesday, October 30, 2002, at the Hernando-Pasco County Hospice Care Center in New Port Richey. Born in Ohio, she came here in 1985 from Millersville, Maryland. She was a homemaker, a member of the Tarpon Springs Women of the Moose, Lodge 1614, and was of the Presbyterian Faith. She is survived by her longtime companion, Charles Milano of Port Richey; a sister-in-law, Theresa Wright of of Vancouver, Wash.; a niece, Michelle Wright of of Portland, Ore.; and two nephews, Jack Wright of Longview, Wash. and Kenneth Wright of Seattle, Wash. A committal service will take place at 11:15 a.m. on Monday, November 4, 2002, at Meadowlawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery, New Port Richey. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hernando-Pasco Hospice Care Center, (727) 845-4004.

DIGNAN, John M., 57, of Tampa, died Oct. 31, 2002. He is survived by his loving family; a wife; three sons; two daughters; five brothers; three sisters; and three grandchildren.

FITZPATRICK, The Reverend Veronica `Bonnie`, died in Tampa, on October 29, 2002 due to complications from a motor vehicle accident on November 8, 2001. She is survived by her husband, David of Brandon; two daughters, Kellie Anderson and husband, Andrew of Scotland, Julie Dixon and husband, Derek of Tampa; sister, The Rev. Kay Rice and husband, Wilbur of Ijamsville, Maryland; grandchildren, Madison Dixon, David `Tripp` Dixon and Rachel Anderson. Bonnie was born October 22, 1942 in Frederick, Maryland to Henry Russell Eury and Alice Estella Suter Eury. She was educated at Frederick High School, Towson State Teachers College (Maryland), Peabody College (Tennessee), Vanderbilt University (Tennessee) and University of the South at Sewanee (Tennessee). She received both her Masters of Education (1971) and Masters of Divinity (1990). A life-long educator, Bonnie taught special needs children at various schools in Nashville, Tennessee and Hillsborough County, Florida (1970-1979). In 1980, Bonnie was ordained a vocational deacon in the Episcopal Church of the Diocese of Southwest Florida. She served at Holy Innocents' Episcopal Church, Valrico, Florida and at St. Andrew's Episcopal, downtown Tampa, where she was Director of Christian Education. Latterly, she found much joy and fulfillment as Chaplain and teacher of Divinity at St. John's Parish Day School in Hyde Park, where she was a much loved and respected colleague, teacher and friend. Bonnie was involved with numerous charities for vulnerable individuals. Her achievements were many. She was well known for her quiet generos ity, unconditional love and abundant spirit. She touched the lives of all who knew her and will be greatly missed. A service celebrating Bonnie's life will be held at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 509 E. Twiggs St., Tampa on Saturday, November 2, 2002 at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Spring, P. O. Box 4772, Tampa, FL 33677 or Joshua House, P.O. Box 1907, Lutz, FL 33548. These charities were especially close to Bonnie's heart.

He is survived by his parents, Lazaro and Johanna Gonzalez; brother, Marc Anthony Gonzalez; step-sister, Olivia Ann Gonzalez; maternal grandmother, Wanda Verdejo and paternal grandmother, Norma Gonzalez. GRELLO, John Anthony, Jr., 70, of Tampa, died Oct. 31, 2002 at the James A. Haley VA Hospital. Survived by his wife, Madeline; and six grandchildren.

HALL, Margaret A., 83, a lifetime resident of Ruskin died Oct. 30, 2002. She is survived by her sons, Charles David Hall Jr. and Don Hall Sr.; daughters, Millie Mower, Eva Morgan and Joyce Beasley; brothers, Vernon Johnson and James Johnson; sisters, Gladys Fuller, Sue Marciel, Bobbye Whittye and Earline Puckett; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles David Hall Sr. A memorial service will be held Sunday, Nov. 3, 2002, at 8512 Riverview Dr. 3 p.m.

LONGO, Anthony Pupello (Tony), 95, passed away Oct. 30, 2002 at Kindred Hospital. He was preceded in death by, his spouse, Josephine Pupello; brothers, Paul and Frank Longo; sisters, Felicia Pitisci and Vincenzina Leto. He is survived by Catherine Mistretta Longo, his beloved wife of 48 years; daughter, Josie Diaz and Sylvia Carmen Lorenzo; grandchildren, Tony Diaz, Terri Diaz Poe, Dennis Lorenzo, Jr., and Douglas Lorenzo; seven great-grandchildren. Mr. Longo was a lifelong native of Tampa. He retired from Thom McAnn Shoe company after 31 years where he was employed as store manager and auditor, followed by association with the Art-Romany Tile and Terrazzo company for 16 years as an estimator. Mr. Longo was three-term past state President of the Travelers Protective Association, Lifetime member of L'Unione (Italian Club), member of the Sons of Italy, La Nuova Sicilia Lodge No. 1251, and past President of the Columbus Association of Tampa. Pallbearers are, Tony Diaz, Dennis Lorenzo, Jr., Bennie Diaz, Gene Teston, Sr., Joseph Teston, and Gene Teston, Jr; Honorary Pallbearers are, Henry Giglio, Guy St. Paul, Frank Pupello. The family wishes to express their appreciation to the following for their compassionate wonderful care of Tony, LifePath Hospice purple team, Diana Torres and staff at Buena Vida Residence Assisted Living Facility, 6th floor nurses at St. Joseph's Hospital, nurses and staff at Kindred Hospital, Dr. Rudolfo Sumulong, his physician for many years, and caregivers Maggie Hernandez and Irene Perrone. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Sat. Nov 2, 2002 at the funeral home, with interment to follow at La Unione Italiana Cemetery. She was a loving, dedicated mother and grandmother and cherished by all who knew her. TIERNAN, Eugene William, 81, of Brandon, passed away Thursday, Oct. 31, 2002. A native of De Witt, Iowa he moved to the area in 1987 coming from Wisconsin. He was a member of Nativity Catholic Church, the State Bar of Wisconsin and the Amalgamated Transit Union National Local No. 1700.
