PUGH, Ronald C., 63, of Tampa, Fla., passed away October 31, 2002. He was born in Findlay, Ohio and moved to Tampa in 1977. A Catholic by faith, he was a member of the Incarnation Catholic Church, served in the US Navy, and worked for Bay Cities Gas Company for 20 years as a truck driver. He is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years, Dolores; son, Ronald A. Pugh (Serina); two daughters, Sherri Albury (Lester Wiltz) and Sally Pugh (Doug Brooks); brother, Eugene Pugh; two sisters, Linda Keefer (Keith) and Donna Kennedy; and three grandchildren, Brittany, Victoria, and Christopher. A Funeral Mass for the Repose of his Soul will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5 at the Incarnation Catholic Church, 5124 Gateway Drive. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Monday, Nov. 4 from 7 to 9 p.m. We loved him and he loved us, and now he's gone to live with the Lord.

REESE, Rachel Y., 89, of Brandon passed away Thursday, Oct. 31, 2002. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Gray Reese, Sr. She is survived by her son, Gray Reese, Jr. and his wife, Margie of Valrico, Fla.; two sisters, Helen Proctor of Silver City, N.M. and Kathryn Eason of Charlotte, N.C.; two grandchldren, Gray Reese III and his wife, Karen of Memphis, Tenn. and Gregory A. Reese and his wife, Jill of Clearwater, Fla.; and two great-grandchildren, Courtney and Nicholas Reese. A native of Stephens, Ga., she has lived in the Tampa area since 1998 coming from Atlanta, Ga. Rachel was a professional seamstress and was of the Methodist faith. Funeral services will be conducted 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 4, 2002 at the Stowers Brandon Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.

SILVASY, Gertrude, 71, formerly of Pittsburgh, Pa., passed away Saturday, November 2, 2002 at Brighton Gardens of Tampa. She was predeceased by her loving husband, John; father, Joseph Petrikis; and sister, Arlene Spirko. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia and husband Dr. Rodney Randall of Tampa; son, Dr. Anthony Stugan and wife Dr. Sue Stugan of Somerset, Ky.; five grandchildren, D.J., Madison, and Ryan Randall, Emily and Jack Stugan; mother, Alice Petrikis; sister, Violet Stokes both of Pittsburgh, Pa. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to LifePath Hospice, 3010 W. Azeele St. Tampa, FL 33609. Services will be held in Pittsburgh, Pa.

SKLADANEK, Ingeborg, 71, of Brandon, passed away Monday, Oct. 28, 2002. She is survived by her husband, Jan; two sons, Steven Skladanek and Beth Collins of Orlando, Fla. and Peter Skladanek and his wife, Melissa of Valrico, Fla.; one sister, Margaret Kubitchek of Sweden; two grandchildren, Breanna and Alexander Skladanek. A native of Vienna, Austria, she lived in the area for 32 years coming from Canada. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi. Her laugh, her wit, her culinary expertise, and her companionship will be missed, but her spirit lives on within everyone she touched. A memorial service will be held at Stowers Brandon Chapel Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2002 at 6 p.m. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

WORMWOOD, Judith Reid, of Clearwater, Florida, died Tuesday, October 29, 2002. Preceded in death by her late husband, Dr. Robert H. Reid; she is survived by her husband, Dr. Raymond F. Wormwood; her daughter, Patricia Reid Rudy and son-in-law John F. Rudy, II; grandson, John F. Rudy, III and his wife Carla Cornett Rudy; and granddaughter, Robin Rudy Lawson and her husband Richard P. Lawson. Mrs. Wormwood was born in New York, New York, and resided in New York and Washington , D.C. She moved to Clearwater, Florida in 1987, and was a member of the Clearwater Yacht Club. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of your choice. A private memorial service will be held for the family.

BARBER, Jimmy E., 74, of Sun City Center, Fla., died October 31,2002. He retired as a marketing representative for Columbia Gas of Ohio. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II and was a member of the Caloosa Golf and Country Club and the VFW Post in Ruskin, Fla. In addition, he was a 32nd degree Mason; member of Egypt Temple Shrine; and Lifetime member of the Moose Lodge. Survivors include his wife, Joan; daughter and son-in-law, Marsha and Skip Edwards; two granddaughters; and seven great-grandchildren. PASCH, Richard S. of Lutz, Florida passed away Friday, November 1, 2002, surrounded by his wife and children. Richard was born April 26th, 1930, in Milwaukee, Wis. He graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in Hotel Restaurant Management and was a Lieutenant in the US Army and served in the Korean War. Richard moved to Tampa, Fla. in 1956 and acquired the Frisch's Big Boy franchise for the Tampa Bay area. In 1980 he and his wife acquired the Haagen-Dazs distribution franchise for Central Florida under the name RICH-DIP INC. He was past-President of the Florida Restaurant Association; a Florida High School Athletic Association football referee; Member of the Westshore Sertoma Club and president of the Blue Ridge Pioneers of North Carolina, a Motor Coach Group. Upon his retirement, Richard enjoyed his passion for golf and traveling the country in his motor coach. Preceded in death by his parents, David and Sylvia Pasch he is survived by his wife, Irene (Campbell); sisters, Judy Samoski, Mimi Jacobsohn, Marilyn Libman; children, Terry Thompson (Joe), Ellen Frederick (David), Jeff Pasch (Kimberly), Laurie Schroeder (Doug), Edward S. Campbell III, Jeanne Campbell Sonke, Keith Campbell (Beverly), Julie Campbell; grandchildren, Amy Thompson, Clayton and Bart Frederick, Cory Schroeder, Brooke and Hannah Pasch, Casey and Erinn Campbell, Kelley Campbell, Pete Sonke (Betsy) and Kirsten Schultz (Brian), Billy and Matt Surowiecki. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Heifer Project International, 1015 Louisiana St., Little Rock, AR 722 02; or the Tampa Humane Society. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, November, 7, 2002, at 1:00 p.m. at the Heritage Harbor Club House located approximately 1.5 miles west of Dale Mabry Hwy. on Lutz Lake Fern Rd, Lutz, Fla. RIGOS, Margaret Orr, age 57, died November 2, 2002 in Tampa after a brief battle with lung cancer. She leaves behind her husband, Platon N. Rigos; sister, Julie Orr Brannock; and two nieces, Elizabeth Rouleau and Alane Bartlett. She was a graduate of the University of Florida and worked as a Social Worker in Tampa for DCF for a number of years. She loved her family and will be sorely missed.

KING, Samuel A. 59, of New Port Richey, died Sunday, November 3, 2002 at Hernando-Pasco Hospice Care Center, New Port Richey. He was born in Port Huron, Michigan and moved to New Port Richey from Port Huron, Mich. in 1975. He was an over-the-road truck driver; an Army veteran; a member of AMVETS in Hudson; and of the Protestant faith. Survivors include his son, Bill King of Lecanto, Fla.; brother, Fred Tanton of New Port Richey; and four grandchildren.

ROONEY, Sister Josephine, OSC, 61, of Holiday, died Saturday, November 2, 2002 at Helen Ellis Memorial Hospital in Tarpon Springs, Florida. She was born in Northern Ireland and moved to Holiday from Northern Ireland in 1991. She attended St. Clare's Convent School, Newry, County Down, Northern Ireland and was professed in 1960. She attended Digby Stuart College near London, received her teaching degree in 1968 and immediately began her teaching career in Newry. Sister Josephine served as Principal of St. Clare's Primary School, Crowthorne in England for three years. She taught at St. Francis School in Vista, Calif. for three years before returning to St. Clare's Primary School, Newry, to teach. After a short sabbatical, she taught at St. Clare's Primary School, Keady, County Armagh, Northern Ireland and was Superior of St. Clare's Convent, Keady for three years. Sister Josephine became involved in bereavement counseling, was involved in Initial Formation and was directress of postulants for a couple of years. Since moving to Florida, she has been involved in ministry to the sick and homebound at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Holiday, and set up an Alzheimer's support group and bereavement ministry at the church. She also taught CCD to confirmation students. She attended the Audire Program in San Pedro, Winter Park and was certified in spiritual direction. Sister Josephine served as Regional Superior of the Florida Region for three years. Sister Josephine is survived by her brother, Patrick Rooney; and her three sisters, Phyllis Crawford, Marian Ryan and Anna Downey, all of Northern Ireland.

SALS, Lester I. 84, of New Port Richey, died Saturday, November 2, 2002 at home in New Port Richey. He was born in Chicago, Illinois and moved to New Port Richey from Chicago in 1970. He was a retired project engineer for the Whiting Corp. There are no immediate survivors.

Born in New York City, he came here 30 years ago from Brooklyn, N.Y. He was a machinist for Arma Corp. in Mineola, N.Y. He was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, New Port Richey. He is survived by two sons, Joseph and John Sparacio, both of Babylon, Long Island, N.Y.; two daughters, Diana Billi of Babylon, Long Island, N.Y. and Marilyn McGill of New Port Richey; a sister, Josephine Bruno of Lyndenhurst, N.Y.; 14 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. Interment will be in St. Charles Cemetery, Huntington, Long Island, N.Y.

STENZEL, Carl R., 75, passed away Thursday, October 31, 2002 at University Community Hospital. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Edwin Frank and Herman George Stenzel; sisters, Evelyn Stenzel, Helen Franz and Edith Groves. He is survived by his children, Carol Lee Hixson of Adrian, Mich., Gary L. Stenzel of Tampa, Fla., Scott C. Stenzel of Sarasota, Fla., and Valerie A. Woods of Marietta, Ga.; nine grandchildren, Jenna, Grayson and Austin Stenzel, Bryce, Brett, Kirstyn and Bryan Hixson, Shelby and Haley Woods; one sister, Irene Stenzel; one brother, Fred K. Stenzel; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Stenzel was born and raised in Chicago, Ill. Mr. Stenzel was a veteran of the US Navy and served during World War II. He then served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Stenzel raised his family and was a farmer in Princeton, Ill. He was active in the Boy Scouts and was a leader for many years in which he received the Silver Beaver award. A 38 year member and past Commander of American Legion Post 125 Mr. Stenzel also was a life member of The Most Worshipful Grand Lodge #587 AF&AM for 53 years and was a Scottish Rite Shriner. He was an Elder with First Presbyterian Church and superintendent of Sunday School. Also, he was precinct committeeman for the Republican party and served as commissioner of the Bureau County Board. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 6, 2002 at 7 p.m. at Blount and Curry Funeral Homes, 3207 W. Bearss Ave., Tampa, Fla. Interment will be in Ridgewood Cemetery in DesPlains, Ill. The family will receive friends Tuesday f rom 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday from 6 p.m. until service time, both at the funeral home. Contributions my be made in Carl's name to St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, 8905 Regents Park Dr. Suite 250, Tampa, FL 33647.

SWEET, Huey Ray, 27, of Lacoochee, died Saturday, November 2, 2002 in Lacoochee. He was a lifelong resident of this area. Survivors include his parents, Judy and Dusebio Mancera of Lacoochee; a brother, Paul (Jennifer) Mancera of Lacoochee; a sister, Tina (Freddy) Sweet of Lacoochee; his grandmother, Delores Garofano of Lacoochee; his grandfather, Kenneth Watts of Lacoochee; three aunts, Debra Knight, Joyce Sweet and Tonia Siegrist, all of Lacoochee; four uncles, Jimmy Sweet, Nick Sweet, Billy Sweet and Lamont (Miranda) Simpson, all of Lacoochee; and four nieces and nephews, Eric Chesser, Leah Chesser, Makayla Chesser and Patience Mancera, all of Lacoochee. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, November 5, 2002. Funeral services will be held in the Chapel of Hodges Family Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 6, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Randall Belcher officiating.

TRIPLETT, Wendell H., Sr., 92, of Zephyrhills died Monday, October 11, 2002 at the Hernando-Pasco Hospice Care Center in Dade City. Born in Heckley, Pennsylvania , he moved to this area 13 years ago from Elyria, Ohio. He was a retired Supervisor in the Automotive Industry and a member of Pasadena Baptist Church in Dade City. A Memorial Service will be held Thursday November 7, 2002 at 11:00a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Dade City with Pastor Bruce Moore officiating. Mr. Triplett is survived by a daughter, Helen Haslage of Zephyrhills, Fla.; two sons, James Triplett of San Antonio, Fla., and Wendell Triplett, Jr. of N. Ridgeville, Ohio; a half brother, George Koon of Morgantown, West Virginia; 14 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

He was a carpenter and a member of Local 1489 in Burlington, N.J. Richard was a member of First United Methodist Church in Hudson; a member of the New Port Richey and Port Richey Stamp Club; and founder of his high school Stamp Club at Woodbury High School in Woodbury, N.J. Richard is survived by his wife, Dorothy of Hudson; two sons, John Young of Elmer, New Jersey and David Young of Hudson; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grand children. Arrangements are by Bell Funeral Home.

APPLEGATE, `CJ` Carolyn Jean, 55, of Land O' Lakes, Florida, passed away Saturday, November 2, 2002 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was a locally known artist/cartoonist. She is survived by two sons, Bryce (Marcie) Applegate and Symon (Bonnie) Applegate; two daughters, Kelly (Bobby) Seivers and Erin Applegate; one brother, Donald (Barbara) Cox; two sisters, Constance Mucci and Leslie Dame; eight grandchildren, Justin, Arthur, Sydney, Kyle, Noah, Symon, Eli, and Spencer; two nieces; and two nephews. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Eleanor was born in Buffalo, N.Y. and had lived in Tampa since 1947. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
