FLOYD, Carl C., 94, of Haines City, passed away Oct. 31, 2002. Born in Atlanta, Ga., on Oct. 31, 1908, he attended Atlanta and Loganville, Ga., public schools. He came to Tampa area in 1928 to open a branch office for Republic Motion Pictures. He was founder, president and C.E.O. of Floyd Theatres from its establishment in 1940 until 1969. He was the Chairman of the Board and C.E.O. of Floyd Enterprises until retirement in 1977. Mr. Floyd is predeceased by his wife, Esther Ferris Floyd; and his parents, Aaron B. and Connie Floyd. He is survived by one son, Tom Floyd of Winter Haven; four daughters, Ginger Phillips of Belleair, Judy Thompson, Haines City, Susan Center, Belleair, and Sally Snyder of Winter Haven; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Mr. Floyd was senior member of the Florida Advertising Commission under Gov. Fuller Warren from 1949-1952, and while a member instituted the summer advertising campaign which started the summer tourist business in Florida. He was Chairman of the Haines City Area War Bond Drive during World War II, receiving government commendation for his outstanding success in this work. Also, he was the first fund raising drive Chairman of the Heart of Florida Hospital; a founding member of the Board of Trustees of the Bishop Gray Inn, Episcopal Retirement Home; a former member of the Foundation Board of Winter Haven Hospital; life member of the Elks Club; former member Board of Directors of the State Bank of Haines City; former member of Capital City Club of Atlanta, Lake Region Yacht and Country Club, and served on the Board of Go vernors; former member University Club of Tampa; former member of Lone Palm Country Club of Lakeland; lifetime member of Navy League; and life member Republican President's Task Force and Republican Senatorial Inner Circle. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2002 at St. Marks Episcopal Church, Haines City. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Marks Episcopal Church, 102 N. 9th St., Haines City, FL 33844.

GEER, LaVonne Frances (Thornton), 82, of Temple Terrace passed away Thursday, October 31, 2002. She was born in Blackwater, Missouri to John and Mary (Roles) Thornton on February 29, 1920 and later received a B.A. degree in Music Education from Harding College in Searcy, Ark. She, her husband, and four children moved to Bradenton, Fla., in 1954. After twenty-seven years as a first grade teacher, she retired in 1981 and moved to Brandon; then later to Temple Terrace. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles H. Geer in January, 1979; and a sister, Marilyn Whitelaw, in 1984. She is survived by two sons, John Charles Geer and Alan Karl Geer; two daughters, Rosemary Ann Thompson and Marilyn Jean Payne, all from the Greater Tampa Bay area; sister, Raylene Larsen of Brandon, Fla.; and brother, John P. Thornton of Ridgecrest, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and loving friends. THANK YOU MOTHER for your continual deeds of kindness and selflessness in seeking to serve others under any circumstances. Your thankful attitude and words of gratitude toward your family as they cared for you in these last months has been once again, a beautiful manifestation of your inner person. Thank you for leaving us the legacy of such a godly woman and for being the personification of Dorcas in Acts 10. Many have said. `God has a special place prepared for this great woman.` We love you very much and will miss you so terribly. Viewing will be from 1-3 p.m. and funeral service at 3 p.m., on Tuesday, November 5, 2002 at the Temple Terrace Churc h of Christ, 501 Bullard Parkway, Temple Terrace, FL 33617. Interment will be 11 a.m., November 6, 2002 at Manasota Memorial Park, Bradenton, Fla. She was predeceased by grandson, James Turchetta. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 6, 2002 with funeral services at 7:30 p.m. at the South Tampa Chapel of Mark III Funeral Home. MANSFIELD, George W., 77, of Tampa, passed away Nov. 1, 2002 at St Joseph's Hospital. He was a retired officer for the Tampa Police Department, former investigator for Mastercard, member of the Blue Knights, Chapter 17, and the Fraternal Order of Police. George is survived by his beloved wife, Mirta; two sons, Guy and Eddie Perdomo; daughter, Jeffrey Ann Chitwood; and six grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held at the Mark III Funeral Home, 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 6. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service.

PASCH, Richard S. of Lutz, Florida passed away Friday, November 1, 2002, surrounded by his wife and children. Richard was born April 26, 1930 in Milwaukee, Wis. He graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in Hotel Restaurant Management and was a Lieutenant in the US Army and served in the Korean War. Richard moved to Tampa, Fla. in 1956 and acquired the Frisch's Big Boy franchise for the Tampa Bay area. In 1980 he and his wife acquired the Haagen-Dazs distribution franchise for Central Florida under the name RICH-DIP INC. He was past-President of the Florida Restaurant Association; a Florida High School Athletic Association football referee; member of the Westshore Sertoma Club; and president of the Blue Ridge Pioneers of North Carolina, a Motor Coach Group. Upon his retirement, Richard enjoyed his passion for golf and traveling the country in his motor coach. Preceded in death by his parents, David and Sylvia Pasch, he is survived by his wife, Irene (Campbell); sisters, Judy Samoski, Mimi Jacobsohn and Marilyn Libman; children, Terry Thompson (Joe), Ellen Frederick (David), Jeff Pasch (Kimberly), Laurie Schroeder (Doug), Edward S. Campbell III, Jeanne Campbell Sonke, Keith Campbell (Beverly) and Julie Campbell; and grandchildren, Amy Thompson, Clayton and Bart Frederick, Cory Schroeder, Brooke and Hannah Pasch, Casey and Erinn Campbell, Kelley Campbell, Pete Sonke (Betsy) and Kirsten Schultz (Brian), Billy and Matt Surowiecki. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Heifer Project International, 1015 Louisiana St., Little Roc k, AR 72202; or the Tampa Humane Society. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, November 8, 2002, at 1:00 p.m. at the Heritage Harbor Club House located approximately 1.5 miles west of Dale Mabry Hwy. on Lutz Lake Fern Rd, Lutz, Fla. ROWLAND, Relda Richwine, 78, of Plant City, died November 3, 2002 in Plant City. She was born in Durant and was a life long resident of the area. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. She was a retired waitress from Johnson's and Snellgrove's restaurants. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Rowland; and son, Art Singletary. She is survived by four sons, Martin and wife, Faye Singletary of Fayetteville, Tennessee, Sam and wife, Mary Singletary, Johnnie Davis and Elliott and wife, Karen Davis, all of Plant City; daughter, Linda and husband, C.B. Dean of Plant City; daughter-in-law, Karen Singletary; three brothers, Kenneth Richwine of Plant City, Arnold Richwine of Norvelt, Pa. and Rodney Richwine of Texas ; one sister, Hazel Ward of Plant City; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends this evening (Tuesday) from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Services will be held Wednesday, November 6, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. Both will be at Haught Funeral Home. SMILEY, Rosa Lee (Bullard), born June 27, 1929, died November 2, 2002. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, David E. Smiley, Jr.; parents, Willis and Annie Bullard; brothers, John Ira, Earle and Roy Bullard. She is survived by her loving son, David E. Smiley, III and his wife Melissa of Tampa; brothers, Merle (Myra) of Lake Wales, Fla., Junior (Joan) of Lake Placid, Fla., George (Carolyne) of Gonzales, La., and Charles (Barbara) of Rockledge, Fla.; sisters, Betty Caudhill of Lake Placid, Fla., Joyce Albritton (Arthur) of Frost Proof, Fla., and Linda Simmons of Defuniak Springs, Fla.; sister-in-law, Lucille Bullard of Lakeland, Fla.; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Born in Georgia, Rosa Lee moved to Frostproof at a very young age. Being the eldest of 11 children, she helped raise her brothers and sisters, until graduating from Frostproof High School. She soon moved to Tampa to work at The Tampa Times newspaper, which at that time was owned by the Smiley family, where she met and married her beloved husband, David Jr. They enjoyed over 40 years of marriage, until his death in 1993. Rosa Lee was heavily involved in her local church, Bayshore Baptist, where she taught free quilting classes, of which she was a master, and also assisted in maintaining the church library. Rosa Lee will be dearly missed by those who loved her deeply. The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 7, 2002 from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. Noon at the Marsicano-B. Marion Reed Funeral Home located at 4040 Henderson Blvd. in Tampa. Graveside services will follow at 1 p.m. at Myrtle Hill Memorial Park, 4207 Lake Ave. East in Tampa. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The American Cancer Society and/or LifePath Hospice.

STENZEL, Carl R., 75, passed away Thursday, October 31, 2002 at University Community Hospital. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Edwin Frank and Herman George Stenzel; sisters, Evelyn Stenzel, Helen Franz and Edith Groves. He is survived by his children, Carol Lee Hixson of Adrian, Mich., Gary L. Stenzel of Tampa, Fla., Scott C. Stenzel of Sarasota, Fla., and Valerie A. Woods of Marietta, Ga.; nine grandchildren, Jenna, Grayson and Austin Stenzel, Bryce, Brett, Kirstyn and Bryan Hixson, Shelby and Haley Woods; one sister, Irene Stenzel; one brother, Fred K. Stenzel; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Stenzel was born and raised in Chicago, Ill. Mr. Stenzel was a veteran of the US Navy and served during World War II. He then served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Stenzel raised his family and was a farmer in Princeton, Ill. He was active in the Boy Scouts and was a leader for many years in which he received the Silver Beaver award. A 38 year member and past Commander of American Legion Post 125 Mr. Stenzel also was a life member of The Most Worshipful Grand Lodge #587 AF&AM for 53 years and was a Scottish Rite Shriner. He was an Elder with First Presbyterian Church and superintendent of Sunday School. Also, he was precinct committeeman for the republican party and served as commissioner of the Bureau County Board. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 6, 2002 at 7 p.m. at Blount and Curry Funeral Homes, 3207 W. Bearss Ave., Tampa, Fla. Interment will be in Ridgewood Cemetery in DesPlains, Ill. The family will receive friends Tuesday f rom 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday from 6 p.m. until service time, both at the funeral home. Contributions my be made in Carl's name to St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, 8905 Regents Park Dr. Suite 250, Tampa, FL 33647.

Funeral Services will he held Tuesday at 9 a.m. at the Cross Roads Pentecostal Church, with Rev. Steve Mc Adams officiating. The family will receive friends Monday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Whitfield Funeral Home. Mr. Eppich attended the Cross Roads Pentecostal Church and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He is survived his wife, Frances Eppich of Zephyrhills; two sons, Clifford Eppich, Jr. of Panama City, Fla., and Joseph Eppich of Lawrenceville, Ga.; four daughters, Carol Root of Brook Park, Ohio, Linda Dugan of Cleveland, Ohio, Patricia Womack of Matthews, N.C., and Brenda Lynch of Thonotossa, Fla.; twelve grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; and a brother, Raymond of Seven Hills, Ohio; a sister; Dolores of Parma, Ohio. Interment will be at Florida National Cemetery, Tuesday at 11a.m. with military Honors.

She was a homemaker; member of the Gospel Outreach International in New Port Richey, eternal member of the body of Jesus Christ, a spiritual warrior in the Army of the Lord, executive committee member of the Republican Party, concerned women of America, and life member of the National Rifle Association. She is survived by two sons, Jeff Griffin, and Hugh P. Griffin of Land O Lakes; three daughters, Lois Plagg of Tampa, Jerry Griffin of North Miami, Florida, and Joyce Hill of Brooksville, Florida; and eight grandchildren.

Survivors; wife of 20 years, Sandra L. Mulrooney, Spring Hill; five sons, David Mulrooney, Texas , Kenny, John, and Michael Mulrooney of Florida, and Robert Mulrooney Texas ; daughter, Linda Martin, Ohio; two stepsons, Chris Skinner of Ohio and Mark Skinner of Florida; stepdaughter, Caroline Posey, Florida; many grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.

WELKS, Conrad L., 92, of Holiday, Florida, died Friday November 1, 2002 at home in Holiday, Florida. He was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan and moved here from Ann Arbor, Michigan in 1972. He retired from Chrysler Corporation after 40 years of service; served with the National Guard; Protestant Faith. Survivors; wife of 68 years, Elnora H. Welks of Holiday; two brothers, Leo Welks of Germany and Herman Welks, Armed Forces; sister, Jean Lee of Hawaii; four grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces. There will be a visitation on Monday, Nov. 4, 2002 from 5 - 8 p.m. at the Bartelt Road Chapel, Holiday. There will be no services.

He is survived by his wife, Debra Wheatley; five sons, Dennis Wheatley, Kenny Wheatley, Tim Wheatley, Greg Wheatley, Jeremy Wheatley; one daughter, Nicole Wheatley; seven grandchildren, L.J., Abbie, Wade, Lacy, Kyle, Jessica, and Brian. He was preceded in death by one son, Bill Wheatley. He was born July 23, 1938 in Louisville, Ky. and moved to this area 30 years ago from Jeffersonville, Ind. He was a production supervisor in the citrus industry. He was a past member of the Jaycee's and was an avid bowler. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2002 at the Hodges Family Funeral Home with Pastor G.W. Carroll officiating. Friends may call from 4- 7 p.m., Monday (tomorrow) at the funeral home.

ALLEN, Dennis E., 66, of Dade City, Fla., passed away Monday, Nov. 4, 2002 in Tampa. He is survived by his wife, Suzanne Douglas-Allen; three daughters; one son; one step-son; two sisters; and seven grandchildren. He was born March 30, 1936 in Vermont, and moved to this area five years ago from Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. He was a retired network technician for Bell South. He had been active in the Dade City Little League Program as a Coach and also with the East Pasco Youth Soccer League. Memorial services will be held 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 15, 2002 at the Hodges Family Funeral Home with Ft. Lewis Tanno officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Arthritis Foundation.
