STRINGER, Gertrude Anzelene `Angie`, a long-time member of Tampa Baptist Church, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, November 11, 2002. Angie was a devoted wife of 67 years and loving mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Taylor `T.B.`; daughters, Barbara and husband, Ralph Stephens, Sylvia and husband, Fred Witty and Sandra Walters; grandsons, Michael Stephens, Chip Vining and wife, Karen and Kevin Ware and wife, Tracy; great-grandchildren, Jonathan and Elisabeth Vining and Taylor and Courtney Ware; and sister, Mable Henderson of Greenville, Alabama. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. and Funeral Service at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 15, 2002 with the Rev. Chip Vining officiating at Swilley Funeral Home, 1602 W. Waters Avenue. A graveside ceremony will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted as well as donations made to the American Heart Association in her memory. The family would like to give special thanks to all the staff at Manor Care of Carrollwood for their exceptional loving care of Angie.

TAYLOR, Doretha, 50, of Tampa, died Nov. 7, 2002. Survived by husband, Aaron; four sons; mother; one brother; two sisters; and four grandchildren. A viewing will be held Friday, from 5-9 p.m. at Wilson FH.

VALDES, Grace G., age 87, a lifelong resident of Tampa, passed away November 10, 2002. Preceded in death by her beloved husband of 58 years, Roy Valdes; sisters, Laura Marquinez, Angelina Vina and Onelia Molina; and brother, Andres Garrido. Mrs. Valdes is survived by her daughter, Sylvia Valdes Mangione and her son-in-law Jack; grandchildren, Dr. Nelson Jack Mangione and wife Karol of Nashville, Tenn., and Stephen Roy Mangione and fiance Angela Eward; great-grandchildren, Christopher Jack and Tiffany Marie; sister, Mary Rodriguez and husband Santiago; and many loving nieces and nephews. Grace was a peace loving woman who was beautiful both inside and out. On Saturday nights she and her husband Roy could be found dancing the night away at the Centro Espanol and the Centro Asturiano ballrooms. She was a member of St. John Presbyterian Church where she sang in the Choir for over 25 years. As a young woman, she was a cigar maker, and later in life helped her husband in the family grocery business. Finally, she retired as a teacher's aide from Dale Mabry Elementary School; but her favorite occupation was that of mother and homemaker. A special thanks to Dr. Albert Tawil and his staff and the staff of Alimar Assisted Living for the excellent care they gave Grace. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. from the chapel of Gonzalez Funeral Home with Dr. Earl Smith, Pastor, Rev. Roger Greenslade, Assoc. Pastor and Rev. James Holmes, Pastor Emeritus, St. John Presbyterian Church officiating. Entombment will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery Mausoleum. WELCH, Charles Darrell, 29, of Riverview, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2002. He is survived by his wife, Marcy; two daughters, Katelynn Marie of Daytona Beach, Fla. and Emily Ann of Riverview, Fla.; mother and dad, Joyce and Noel Pelegrina of Riverview, Fla.; grandmothers, Shirley Mitchner and Helen Brooks, both of Indiana ; uncle, Terry Welch and his wife, Sandy of Brandon, Fla.; and many close friends and co-workers. A native of Columbus, Ind., he lived most of his life in the Tampa Bay area and was a concessionaire. Memorial services will be held at Stowers Riverview Chapel 7:30 p.m., Monday, Nov. 18, 2002. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

A native of Coeburn, Virginia and resident of Tampa since 1959, Mr. White was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lee White; and is survived by his sons, Bill F White of Lakeland, Fla., and Giles, Anthony R. and Irvin Dishman of Tampa; daughters, Patricia A. Weber of Largo and Ellen C. Smith of Seminole; sister, Janice Wills; 18 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Lewis, Jr.; grandsons, Brian and Brent and granddaughter, Caitlin; five sisters and a brother. Mr. Williams was a veteran of World War II. MacDill Ave. with a funeral service beginning at 7 p.m. Private interment will be at Florida National Cemetery. ARMSTRONG, Audrey C., 90, of Ocala, died Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2002 at the Estelles (Hospice) House in Ocala. Born in Rochester, New York she moved to the Ocala area seven years ago from Zephyrhills. She was a housewife. A Graveside Service will be held Friday, Nov. 15, 2002 at 2 p.m. at Chapel Hill Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Oakley Funeral Home in Dade City from 12 Noon to 2 p.m. just prior to the service. Mrs. Armstrong is survived by three daughters, Jane and husband Jim Bowden of Bellview, Fla., Sandy and husband Bob Granville of Summerfield, Fla., and Dot and husband Mike Shevlin of Rochester, N.Y.; one sister, Claudia and husband Herb Douglas of Zephyrhills; one brother, Gordon Perkins of Rochester, N.Y.; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by one great-granddaughter.

He was born October 25, 1954 in New York City, N.Y. and came here 18 years ago from Lodi, N.J. Survivors include his wife, Patricia; a son, Ryan of New Port Richey; and a daughter, Tara, also of New Port Richey. CHANGE OF SERVICE TIME. She is survived by sons, Keith and wife, Carolyn Doorn of Waterford, Wis.; and Daniel Doom of Minocqua, Wis.; daughter, Sharry Boldt of Zephyrhills; two sisters, Evelyn Everson of Eau Claire, Wis. and Gladys Reichel of Siren, Wis.; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2002 at 1:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Zephyrhills with Dr. W.G. `Buddy` Hollyfield officiating.

She was a homemaker and a member of St. Catherine of Sienna Church in Largo. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary for the American Legion, V.F.W., and the Elks. She is survived by two sons, George of Spring Hill, and Paul of Pittsfield; two daughters, Evelyn LeClair of Pittsfield and Marlin Absher of Holiday; 15 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

He was born in Manville, Rhode Island and moved to Port Richey from Framingham, Mass. in 1989. Mr. Grenon was a retired Machinist for a toolmaker, a Catholic and a member of the Elks Club in Aripeka, Fla. and the Moose Club and Eagles Club, both in Hudson. Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Patricia B. Grenon of Port Richey; three sons, Rae Grenon of Uxbridge, Mass., Glenn Grenon of Hopedale, Mass. and Kevin Grenon of Upton, Mass.; three step-sons, Charles Windisch of Framingham, Mass., Geno Meucci of New Port Richey and Michael Meucci of Uniontown, Pa.; step-daughter, Gail Stull of Uniontown, Pa.; mother, Bernadette Fuller of Woonsocket, R.I.; sister, Jan Kirby of Woonsocket, R.I.; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

He is survived by this wife of 19 years, Sheila M.; a son, Christopher of Wichita, Kansas; a daughter, Cynthia Combs of Wichita, Kansas; three step-sons, John Ciaccia of Pfafftown, N.C., James Ciaccia of Woodlyn, Pa., and Richard Ciaccia of Ridley Park, Pa.; five step-daughters, Mary Ciaccia of Tarpon Springs, Sheila Lange of Brigantine, N.J., Suzanne Baskinger of Belvedere, N.J., Denise Hill of Ocala, and Michele Young of Springfield, Pa.; two brothers, John McMonigle of Brookhaven, Pa., and Robert McMonigle of Thornton, Pa.; a sister, Dorothy Clark of Morton, Pa.; and fourteen grandchildren. MERCKEL, Rosalie, 54, of Port Richey, died Wednesday, November 13, 2002 at the Hernando Pasco Hospice Care Center in New Port Richey. She moved here from her native Staten Island, N.Y. in 1985. She was in marketing with Dial America Marketing for 12 years. She was a member of St. James the Apostle Catholic Church in New Port Richey, and was a volunteer with the West Pasco SPCA. She is survived by her husband, Richard Merckel Sr.; son, Richard Merckel Jr. of Virginia Beach, Va.; daughter, Margaretann Merckel of Port Richey; her mother, Margaret Fulco of Port Richey; and two nephews, Michaelangelo and Adam Luigi Fulco of Port Richey. Visitation will be held on Friday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30-11 a.m. with a Catholic funeral service immediately following at North Meadowlawn Funeral Home, New Port Richey, Fla., (727) 849-9281.

TYRRELL, Solon H. `Ty`, 99, passed away at his home in Williamsburg, Mich., on Monday, Nov. 11, 2002. A winter resident of Zephyrhills, he is survived by his wife of 76 years, Martha Tyrrell of Williamsburg; one son, Roger (Suzanne) Tyrrell of Charlevoix, Mich.; two daughters, Elizabeth (Don) Hancock of Elk Rapid, Mich., and Joyce (Arthur) D'Hondt of Atlanta, Mich.; 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Mr. Tyrrell retired after 42 years as a substation operator for Detroit Edison Co. A memorial service will be held June 20, 2003, which would have been Ty's 100th birthday, in Acacia Park Cemetery in Beverly Hills, Mich. BROWN, Martha J., 85, of Wesley Chapel, passed away Tuesday, November 12, 2002 at her home. She was born in Tichnor, Arkansas and moved to Wesley Chapel from Clarksdale, Miss., in 1978. She was a homemaker and a Methodist. She is survived by her husband, Morgan E. Brown; one son, Donald E. Brown of Wesley Chapel, Fla.; one daughter, Jeanette of Rustin of Tampa, Fla.; three brothers, Stanley Jones of Stutguart, Ark., Robert Casey Jones of Melrose, Fla., and Gordon Wayne Jones of Melrose, Fla.; one sister, Lois Shatswell of Wesley Chapel, Fla. Funeral Services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at the Loyless Funeral Home Chapel, 5310 Land O' Lakes Blvd, Land O' Lakes, FL 34639. CAPPS, C. Glynn, age 89, passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2002. Dr. Capps moved to Plant City in 1931 from Newville, Alabama. He was a graduate of the University of Georgia and Southern College of Optometry. He was in the practice of Optometry in Plant City from 1947-1982; president of the Florida Optometric Assn. from 1960-1961; and is a life member of FOA and the American Optometric Assn. He also was an active member of the Lions Club, receiving both the Melvin Jones Fellow Award and the 50 year Monarch Award; served as a member of the Plant City Housing Authority for 32 years; and is a past member of Tampa's Krewe of Venus. He was a member of Olin S. Wright Masonic Lodge #79 F&AM, and a member of First Baptist Church of Plant City. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; daughter, Beverly Lyon of Lakeland; sister, Wynogene Miller Root of Tampa; brother, James D. Capps of Lakeland; grandchildren, Gigi Devanney of Bel Air, Maryland, and Bruce Lyon of Lakeland; and three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be on Monday, November 18, 2002, 10 a.m. at Wells Memorial Chapel. The family requests in lieu of flowers donations may be wade to First Baptist Church of Plant City Building Fund.

Mr. Corriher worked for the Hillsborough Correctional Facility as a school teacher. COSTANTE, Mary B., 89, of Temple Terrace, passed away November 12, 2002. A native of LaGrange, Ga., she is survived by her sister, Martha Lewis of Temple Terrace; nieces, Lynn Tackett and Cathy Reed; and great-nieces, Michelle Stewart and Mary Lynn Reed. Mrs. Costante lived in Temple Terrace for 25 years, and retired from a Career with the Veterans Administration Hospital, Long Island, N.Y. and Tampa. For many years after her retirement, Mary continued to volunteer at the V.A. as well as at the Shriners Hospital for Children. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Shriners Hospital in her memory.

GULITZ, Norman C., 63, of Tampa, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2002. He is survived by his son, James J. Gulitz of Rossville, Ind.; daughter, Carla Gulitz White; mother, Irma Gulitz of Lakeland; brother, Gordan Gulitz of Tampa; five grandchildren; and companion, Bettye DiMario of Tampa. A native of Terre Haute, Ind., he has resided in the Tampa area since 1983 coming from Fort Wayne, Ind. He was a Hartline bus driver, a U.S. Army veteran, a member of Toastmaster International, Bachelors and Bills Dance Club, Tampa Bay Beach Boppers and was of the Methodist faith. A Memorial service will be conducted 4 p.m. Saturday at the Stowers Brandon Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services. Those who wish may make contributions to H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center or American Cancer Association in his memory.

HACSI, Henry A., 82, of Brandon, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2002. He is survived by his daughter, Renee Goldstein and her husband Larry of St. Petersburg; companion, Margerita Schoenau of Brandon; and stepson, Paul Vinik of Brandon. He was a retired school social worker with Hillsborough County School System, a U.S. Army World War II veteran, a Guardian Ad Litem volunteer and was of the Methodist faith. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, 2002 at Stowers Brandon Chapel. The family will receive friends from 10:30 until 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted or those who wish may make contributions to the charity of their choice in Henry's memory.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Betty;sons, Donald (Lori) Hutchinson and Gerald (Paula) Hutchinson; daughter, Donna (Rick) Gurda; one brother, three sisters and nine grandchildren. McPHAIL, Joseph Rogers, III, of Sun City Center, Fla., died Wednesday, November 13, 2002. He retired as a factory representative for Ford Motor Company. He was member of St. Andrew Presbyterian Church and served in the Medical Corps in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Pacific Theatre. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Mae; two sons, Joseph R. IV, and Robert N.; a daughter, Mary Lynn Callen; three grandchildren, Patricia and Amanda Callen and Justin Robert McPhail. Memorial service is 11 a.m. Monday, November 18, 2002 at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, 1239 Del Webb Blvd. West, Sun City Center, Fla., with Doctor Larry L. Lewis and Reverend John C. Cowell officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society. MONNEN, Charles J., Jr., 50, of Tampa, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2002. He is survived by his daughter, Candice Nicole Monnen; and her mother, Jamie Sowers.
