STYLES, Clyde A., 90, born Dec. 10, 1911 in Argos, Ind., son of Walter A. Styles and Lucy Mae Lolmaugh (deceased), passed away Sunday, Nov. 17, 2002 of pneumonia. Clyde was a World War II Veteran and businessman. Clyde is survived by his sons, John Styles of Valrico, Fla. and Jim Gisclair of Alpharetta, Ga.; brother, Jim Styles of Stratford, N.J.; sisters, Helen Caviness of Carthage, N.C., Vada Walker of Fresno, Calif. and Gladys Popouich (deceased); six grandchildren. The family will receive friends Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2002 from 11 a.m. to 12 noon at Stowers Funeral Home, 401 W. Brandon Blvd., Brandon, Fla., 689-1211. Internment will follow at Florida National Cemetery, 2:30 p.m. Those who wish may make contributions to the charity of choice in Clyde's name.

TOMBERLIN, George Lester, 81, a resident of Plant City, passed away November 17, 2002. He is preceded in death by his wife, Fern Tomberlin and son, Wendall Jean Tomberlin. Survivors include his son, Duane Lester Tomberlin and wife, Dawn; daughter, Robin Nason and husband, Phil; sister, Velma Wetherington; daughter-in-law, Marilyn Tomberlin; five grandchildren, Jacob Elliot Tomberlin, Sarah Ann Tomberlin, Stephen Bailey and wife, Tracy, Samyra Lynn Nason and Philip William Nason, Jr.; one great-grandchild, Kaitlyn Bailey. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 20, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. from Cornerstone Chapel with Dr. Ron Churchill officiating. Interment will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening (tonight) from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

VALENTI, Grace, 93, lifelong resident of Tampa, passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2002. Mrs. Valenti was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Phillip Valenti. They always worked side by side as owner and operators of Columbia Paint and Hardware in Ybor City. She is survived by her sister, Elise Trafficante; and her nieces and nephews, Thelma Castellano, Marie Andersen, Lucille Albano, Lucille Miller, Angelo Reina, Jr., Henry Valenti Jr., Dr. Joseph Valenti, Jr., Inez Leto and Irene Haya. Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, November 20, 2002 at Boza & Roel Funeral Home, 4730 N. Armenia Ave. Active Pallbearers will be Ralph Castellano, Jr., Peter Albano, Matthew Miller, Henry Valenti, Jr., Dr. Joseph Valenti, Jr., and Tom Leto. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ralph Castellano, Sr., Frank Albano, Bob Teijeiro, Danny Haya and Vincent Arcuri. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.

VanESSEN, Sheila, 52, of Temple Terrace, passed away Saturday, Nov. 16, 2002. Sheila was a LPN and received the Florence Nightingale Award for outstanding nursing. She was a member of the Northside Assembly of God Church. Survivors include her husband, Michael; two daughters, Tina Starkey and Christine Joseph; father, Clifford Angel; six brothers and sisters; and seven grandchildren. Arrangements are by Clarence E. WALLACE, Margaret Julia, 82, stepped into the presence of her Lord on November 17, 2002. A homecoming celebration will be held at Hillsboro Memorial F.H. at 10 a.m. on November 20, 2002, with visitation one-hour prior. Reverend Simeon Nix will be officiating. Because of her emphatic love for her family, Margaret was awarded the `Worlds Best Grandmother` award. Survived by her husband of 61 years, Troy B. Wallace; sons, Steve and Jim; daughter, Julia Letourneau; grandchildren, Troy M. Wallace, Greg Wallace, Stacey Herring, Whitney Unterwagner, Rachel Tso, Elise Letourneau, Evie Sabet and her two great-grandchildren, Camille Tso and Lucy Herring.

WALSTON, Kathleen Robb, 75, of Largo and formerly of St. Petersburg, died Friday, November 15, 2002 at home. She was born in Tampa and was a graduate of Hillsborough High School. Locally, she was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church for 44 years and worked as a sales associate at Maas Brothers Department Store. There will be a memorial service held on Wednesday November 20, 2002, 2 p.m. at St. Peters Episcopal Cathedral in St. Petersburg. She is survived by three daughters, Kerry Kelly of Clearwater, Kathleen Pagan of Gainesville, Fla., and Elizabeth Rimmer of Orlando, Fla.; two sons, Charles of Washington , D.C. and Hoyt of Gainesville, Fla.; two brothers, Charles C. Robb of Tampa and Kerry Robb of Palm Beach Garden, Fla.; and six grandchildren. Anderson-McQueen Funeral Homes & Cremation Tribute Center-Bobbin Chapel.

WHITE, Earl Klein, age 71, of Tampa, passed away Nov. 12, 2002. Mr. White was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lee White; and is survived by his son, William E. White of Lakeland; stepsons, Giles, Anthony R. and Irvin Dishman of Tampa; step-daughters, Patricia A. Weber of Largo and Ellen C. Smith of Seminole; sister, Janice Wills; 24 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy; and brother, Blaine, he is survived by his loving wife, Virginia Merryman Espy Whitlatch; son, Charles Whitlatch; daughter, Donna Zura; step-son, David Espy; step-daughter, Sarah Menendez; two brothers, Elmer and Glenn Whitlatch; four grandchildren, Tom, Kathy, Scott and Michelle; seven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. A native of Parkersburg, W.Va., he has resided in the Tampa area since 1998 coming from Cherry Valley, Calif. He was a retired postal supervisor for the U.S. Post Office in California, a U.S. Navy World War II veteran, serving in all three theaters, and a member of Bayshore Baptist Church. Graveside services will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday (today) at Hillsboro Memorial Gardens.

WHITNEY, Ernie R., 50, of Cortez, Fla., died November 15, 2002 at his home. He was born in Farmington, Conn. and moved to Cortez, Fla. in 1999. Mr. Whitney was a long time Board Member of the the Anchorage Audubon Society, a volunteer at Mote Marine and a Board member at the Florida Institute for Saltwater Heritage. He is survived by his wife, Judith Breuggeman; three sisters, Beverly Wiberg of Sarasota, Fla., Eunice Heinlein and Gail Morneau, both of Avon, Conn.; one brother, Orrin Whitney Jr. of Estero, Fla.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial service will be held November 24, 2002 at 4:30 p.m. at Star Fish Co., 12306 46th Ave. W., Cortez, FL 34215. WOOLS, Pauline N. (Howell), 87, of Albany, Ga., died Sunday, November 17, 2002 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 19, 2002 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church of Pelham with burial in the church cemetery. Born March 7, 1915 in Mitchell County, Mrs. Wools was a homemaker, a Cosmetician and a member of El Bethel Baptist Church of Tampa. She was the daughter of the late Russell and Americus NeSmith Faircloth. Mrs. Wools was married to the late, Jack Wools and was preceded in death by her first husband, Edison Howell. She was also preceded in death by two daughters, Ramona McCarthy and Betty Lou Lee; a sister, Sadie Godwin; and brother, Lawrence Faircloth. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Janie and Olen Baucom of Albany, Ga.; a son and daughter-in-law, Fred and JoAnn Howell of Zephryhills, Fla.; a sister, Trummie Godwin of Cairo, Ga.; 10 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

YANCEY, Louise, age 81, of Plant City passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2002. Mrs. Yancey is preceded in death by her son, Anthony `Tony` Yancey, and grandsons, Ronald and Troy Curington. Survivors include her husband, Anthony `Kink` Yancey of Plant City; two sons, Jerry Yancey of Plant City and Vernon Yancey of Dover; two daughters, Patricia Wilkerson of Mulberry and Peggy Loetscher of Lakeland; three sisters, Grace McCoy and Lurine Johnson, both of Plant City, Betty Arnold of Zephyrhills; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, 6 to 8 p.m. Services will be on Wednesday, 10 a.m. at Wells Memorial Chapel. Interment will be at Mt. Enon Cemetery.

AKERS, Lea Jan, 50, passed away November 15, 2002. Mrs. Akers is survived by her loving husband of 30 years, Hugh B. Akers, III; parents, Jack and Dorothy Surridge and in-laws, Hugh B. Akers, Jr. and wife Stephanie; brother-in-law, Howard Lee Akers and wife Tammy; sister, Cheryl K. Anderson and husband Kevin; sister-in-law, Denise Johnson and husband Dane and sister-in-law, Renee' Hudson and husband Bobby. Mrs. Akers graduated from Wagner High School at Clark AFB in the Philippines in 1970, she was a Dental Receptionist with Dr. Anna Choe, DDS. She loved a gentle rain and all animals especially kitty cats. A Memorial Service will be celebrated at 7 p.m. Thursday, November 21, 2002 at the South Tampa Chapel of Mark III Funeral Home. ALLRED, Robert V., 61, passed away November 18, 2002 in Tampa. He is survived by his wife, Barbara; one son, Brian and his wife, Krista and their children, Benjamin, William and Anne; one daughter, Colleen Hewlett and her husband, Mark and their children, Asa and Ruth; mother, Marie Laws; brother, Jay Laws; and sister, Evelyn Green. BERGHOLD, Evelyn Marie, age 86 of Tampa passed away, Saturday, November 16, 2002 at the home of her daughter Shirley Berghold with whom she resided after a long, courageous battle with cancer. She was predeceased by her husband, Julius Berghold and daughter, Judith Getchell. She is survived by her 12 children. Daughters Donna Kotz, Danielsville, PA, Sandra Dalton, Unity ME, Darlene Winner, Allentown, PA, Brenda Hines, Tampa, FL, Sharon Martinez, Tampa, Fl, Merilee Choy, Morristown, NJ; Sons, Barry Berghold, Clarence, NY, John Berghold, Whitehall, Gerald Berghold, Bath, PA, William Berghold, Whitehall, Walter Berghold, Catasauqua, PA; 25 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Berghold was born in Staten Island, New York and moved to Florida in 1972 from Allentown, PA. The family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. John Q. Stauffer and his staff and the staff from LifePath Hospice, Pewter Team. Mrs. Berghold worked as a nursing assistant in Allentown, PA. Prior to her retirement she worked as a sales clerk at Alessi Bakery. Donations may be made to a charity of choice in her memory.

BLACKWELL, Billy J., 73, of Lutz passed away on Saturday, November 16, 2002. He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Mary Blackwell; brother, Walter T. Blackwell; and sister, Evelyn Blackwell. He is survived by his sister, Edna Derrick and and husband Robert; brothers, Herbert Blackwell and wife Frances, and Frank Blackwell and wife Lil; nephews, Robbie Derrick and Dwayne Blackwell; niece, Darice Davis; and beloved companion, Edna M. Mankas. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, November 21, 2002 at 11 a.m. in Garden of Memories Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service at the funeral home.

She is survived by her husband, Frank, Jr.; son, Charlton Courtney and his wife Carol of Etters, Pa.; two daughters, Jacquelyn Maureen Hansen and her husband Fred of Orlando, and Deneile McKee and her husband Raymond of Plant City; and grandchildren, Katryna, Hailey, Kaila, Cade and baby, Courtney. She has resided in the Tampa area for two years coming from her native Key West, Fla. She was the owner/operator of Courtney and Associates, Inc. and was a member of St. Pauls Episcopal Church in Key West. Funeral services will be conducted 2:30 p.m. Wednesday (today) at the Stowers Brandon Chapel with Father Jack Myer officiating. Entombment to follow at Hillsboro Memorial Gardens.

Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday (today). He retired from USF where he was an air conditioning technician. He was a member of the A.W. Windhorst Lodge No. 185 F.&A.M. Survived by his wife, Sandra; three sons, George Bryant Cox, Jr. of Tampa, Michael Alan Cox and Jonathan Lee Cox, both of Land O' Lakes; two brothers, Gerald of Atlanta, Ga. and Edward of Austin, Texas ; two sisters, Melba Forbes of Plant City and Doris Maynard of Tampa; and five grandchildren, Michelle, Stephen, Briana, Robbie and Mikayla.

CROSS, Robert `Bob`, 52, of Tampa, passed away Sunday, November 17, 2002. He is survived by his wife, Faye Cross; two daughters, Cheryl Cross of Tampa and Sylvia Cross of Pinellas County. Surviving grandchildren include, Austin Cross, Summer Cross, and Autumn Brackman. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date out of state.

She was a loving mother and helped raise and care for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Robert Roland Daubar, Sr. She is survived by her loving husband, Enrique `Henry` Daubar, Sr.; son, Henry Daubar, Jr. and his wife Mildred; sister, Dolores Contreras; grandsons, Robert Allen Daubar and his wife Stephanie, and Robert Roland Daubar, Jr.; granddaughters, Sandra Diane Daubar, Brenda Daubar Rodriguez and her husband Gary, and Alexa Daubar Stinette and her husband Albert; great-grandchildren, Aimee, Malori and Chelsea Daubar, Chad and Marissa Rodriguez and Kennedy Stinette. The family would like to express a sincere thank you to Mildred Daubar for the loving care that she gave to Margarita over the years. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Josephs Catholic Church, 3012 Cherry Street, this afternoon at 2 p.m. with interment to follow at Myrtle Hill Memorial Park.
