DEAL, Evelyn Peterson, 81, of Bushnell, Fla., died Sunday, November 17, 2002 in Ocala. Fla. She is survived by her daughter, Myrna Deal of Sanford, Fla.; son, Donald B. Deal of Placerville, Calif.; two brothers, K.E. Peterson of Istachatta, Fla. and D.E. Peterson of Lakeland; special friend, Dr. Joan Kogelschatz of Dothan, Ala.; two grandchildren, Erica Wogaman of Frankfurt, Germany and Mark Ryder of Boca Raton, Fla.; four great-grandchildren, Carrie and Ella Wogaman and Jessica and Brittany Ryder. Mrs. Deal was a fourth generation Floridian residing in Hernando and Sumter counties. After her retirement as a school bus driver she resided in Tiger, Ga. for 12 years. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, November 23, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Bushnell, Fla. with the Rev. Mike King officiating. Purcell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

DELL, Clara W., 80, of St. Petersburg, was called by God, November 18, 2002. She was survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Ralph C.; her son, R. Clifton and his wife Carol Louise; a daughter, Susan Skipper and her husband Gary; a son-in-law, Michael N. Brown, all of Tampa; one sister, Pauline W. Gandy of Brooksville; and sisters-in-law, Rosalie Wyrick of Redington Shores, and Lee Weaver of Ocala; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was affectionately known as `Grannie` to the grandchildren and `Aunt Grannie` to her nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Carol D. Brown and a granddaughter, Wende Brown. Mrs. Dell was a charter member of the former Hillsborough County Bar Auxiliary. She was a 57 year member of the First Presbyterian Church of Tampa and a member of the Home Builders Sunday School Class. She was born in St. Petersburg and was a 1939 Graduate of St. Petersburg and High School where she met her husband Ralph. She attended St. Petersburg Junior College. Friends may call at John S. Rhodes, East Chapel 635 4th Street North, St. Petersburg on Friday, November 22 from 2-4 p.m. A memorial service will be held Sunday, November 24 at 1:30 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Tampa, 412 Zack Street, Tampa, with Reverend Fritz Conner officiating. MEmorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, of the Children's Home, 10909 Memorial Highway, Tampa, Florida.

EASTER, Robert, 78, of Seminole, formerly of St. Petersburg, died Nov. 18, 200. Survived by wife, Lou; sons, Bob, Dennis and Daniel; daughters, Judy Nodland, Jan Wellington and Jackie Otto.

EBY, Catherine Mae, 79, of Sarasota, died peacefully Nov. 17, 2002, following a long illness. She was born to Mae H. and Robert Bowen in Tampa in 1923. She graduated from Plant High School in 1942 and from the University of Tampa, where she majored in physical education, in 1946. She was elected president of the Student Senate, a member of the Delta Kappa sorority, and was Minaret Sports Editor. She taught in Tampa's public schools from 1946 to 1948. While in college, she met Eugene Eby, an Army Air Corps cadet, whom she married in 1948. They made their home in Monroe, Michigan, where she raised her family. She was active as a leader in both the Boy Scouts and the Camp Fire Girls organizations. She loved animals and was a member of the Humane Society. She returned to teaching in 1962, and worked until 1970 as St. Mary's Academy, a girls high school, where she founded the Girls Athletic Association and instituted `Field Day`, an annual competition loosely based on the Olympics. She and Eugene moved to Sarasota in 1976 following her husband's retirement, where she felt she had gone home to her beloved Florida beaches. Her sister, Martha Rawls, and her husband, Dennis, retired to Sarasota, where they lived close by and were a wonderful part of their sister's life. Catherine is survived by four of her five children, four grandchildren, her sister and a brother. Her children and grandchildren are Jack, his wife, Marilyn, and their daughter Cate; Jim and his son Jefferson; Peg Eby-Jager and her husband, Eric; and Kathleen Hill, her husband, Colin, and their son and daughter, Kieran and Adrienne. (An infant daughter, Nancy, died in 1953.) A visitation and funeral service will be held at Toale Bros. Gulf Gate Chapel, 6903 S. Tamiami Trail in Sarasota. Visitation at 7 p.m. on Wednesday; funeral service at 11 a.m. on Thursday, with graveside burial at Sarasota Memorial Park to follow. Donations may be sent to The Parkinson's Disease Foundation, Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center, 710 West 168 Street, New York, NY 10032-9982.

EICHNER, Lorraine, 67, of Tampa, passed away on Nov. 18, 2002 at Habana Healthcare. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, Nov. 21, 2002 at 4 p.m. at Morning Glory Funeral Chapel. She is survived by her husband, Mr. Gerald Eichner; two sons; three daughters; 15 grandchildren and one brother. Services entrusted to Morning GLory Funeral Chapel

ELLISON, Marlon L., Ph. D., Lt. Colonel (Retired), passed away suddenly on November 18, 2002 in his home where he lived with his wife for 32 years. Par (as he was known to his friends) was born in Woodbine, Iowa on December 18, 1916. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Johnetta (nee Perry) Ellison. `Doc` taught Marine Biology at the University of Tampa. Dr. Ellison was numerous teaching accolades. He was an avid fisherman and so involved in Marine Biology that he even took his students on his boat, the JonPar, out into the bay to study marine biology as it applied to Tampa Bay. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. today at Hyde Park United Methodist Church, 500 West Platt Street where services will be held at 2 p.m. Interment will follow immediately after the ceremony at Myrtle Hill Cemetery.

GASTER, Joyce K., 71, of Deltona, Fla., formerly of Tampa, died Nov. 15, 2002. Survived by son, David Kilmer; daughter, Theresa Gaster; two sisters; and three grandchildren.

GLASSEN, Joyce, 57, of Lutz, passed away on Monday, November 18, 2002. She is survived by her husband, Robert Glassen of Lutz; son, Johnny Glassen and wife Dawn, also of Lutz; mother, Opal Ragdale of Odessa; brothers, Eddie Ragsdale of Mississippi, and Avery Ragsdale of South Carolina; sisters, Olean Wilson and Wanda Hagen, both of Michigan, Debbie Withers of Odessa, Janice Greene of Tarpon Springs and Mary Clark of Georgia; and grandson, Lance Glassen of Lutz. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 21, 2002 at 2 p.m. at the Garden of Memories Chapel. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

GRISSOM, Gerald Henry, age 74, of Gallatin, Tenn., died Nov. 21, 2002. He is survived by wife, Ann; son, Jerry; sister, Jessie Finney; and two grandchildren, Melanie and Andrea Grissom.

HIGDON, Missouri Belle, 90, of Melbourne, passed away Nov. 18, 2002 at Tandem Health Care in Melbourne. Born in Yulee, Fla. on May 29, 1912, she was raised in the Fernandina Beach area and moved to Tampa in 1946 where she lived until 2002. She is survived by her son, Joe Frank Higdon of Melbourne; grandchildren, Brad of Pompano Beach and Susan Moore of Pembroke Pines; great-granddaughter, Alexa Moore; and a niece, Jana Goodwin of Palatka, Fla. Memorial services will take place in Yulee, Fla. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.

LASTRA, Helen, 96, passed away Oct. 25, 2002. Preceded in death by her brother, Arthur Lastra, and sister, Rosalie Prendes, Ms. Lastra was born in Seares, Asturias Spain. She attended Hillsborough High School and Florida State College for Women. In 1930, she obtained her M.A. degree from Columbia University. Her career included teaching at Memorial Jr. High and retirement from Plant High as head of the language department. She was very active in the social affairs of Ybor City. Serving as a member of Las Damas del Centrol Espanol, Ms. Lastra was also one of the founders of the PAUW Club. She was honored as one of the Hispanic Women of the Year. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her loving sister, Marina Reby and her husband George Reby; niece, Marina Delsie; nephews, George Reby Jr., John, Robert and Arthur Lastra and families, Bennie Prendes Jr.; and god daughter, Alicia Capitano. The family wishes to acknowledge her dear friends and dedicated caretakers from Alimar Assisted Living. Graveside services will be held Nov. 25, at 12 Noon, at Centro Asturiano.

LEONARD, Sr., Richard E., age 75, of Lakeland, died Nov. 18, 2002. He is survived by wife, Ruth; four sons; one sister; and 13 grandchildren.

LEWIS, Olive O., loving mother and servant of others, passed away on Nov. 17, 2002. She was married to Roland H. Lewis for 63 years before his death in July 2002. She is survived by her two children, Sherry Holmberg and Brent Lewis; 10 grandchildren, Liese Craig, Greg Holmberg, Kristen Holmberg, Deron Lewis, Scott Lewis, Kyle Lewis, Jan Romkey, Teri Morgan, Steven Lucas and Leslie Castellanos; and 11 great-grandchildren. Services will be Thursday, Nov. 21 at 11:30 a.m. at Temple Terrace Church of Christ. No viewing and interment will be private. LISKO, Stephen Arthur, age 74, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 17, 2002, at the Carrollwood Branch of the University Community Hospital. Having served 30 years in the U.S. Army, Mr. Lisko retired as Sergeant Major after serving in the Korean Conflict and Vietnam. He was born on April 13, 1928, in Campbell, Ohio, to Stephen Lisko and Mary Caputa. He is survived by his wife, Hyon Chu Lisko; his four sons, Stephen A. Lisko, David J. Lisko, Andrew T. Lisko and Stephen Lisko; his two daughters, Mary E. Lisko and Darlene Lisko; and five grandchildren, who all wish him peace and the best of things in the next life. Visitation will be held at the Gonzalez Funeral Home on 7209 North Dale Mabry Hwy. between 7 to 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 20.

MITCHELL, Michael Maurice, 70, of Atlanta, Georgia, and formerly of St. Petersburg, died Thursday, Nov. 14, 2002. He was born in St. Petersburg where he attended Gibbs High School and was a member of the Elim Seventh-Day Adventist Church. He attended Oakwood College Academy and Oakwood College in Huntsville, Ala. and graduated from Florida A&M University (FAMU) in Tallahassee, Fla. He retired from the Atlanta Public School system as a biology teacher. Survivors include his wife, Lareatha Mitchell; daughter, Andrea Mitchell (Charlie) of Atlanta; brother, Alphonso Mitchell (Ozzie) of St. Petersburg; sister, Jacqueline Mitchell of Atlanta; step-children, Arnett Johnson, Roetta Harris, Marie McCall and Clarence Ezzard, Ill, all of Atlanta; and several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

RUDOLPH, James W. `Rudy`, 67, died Nov. 15, 2002. He worked for the former Sharp Cadillac in Tampa for many years. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a Shriner. He served his country in the U.S. Army. He is survived by his wife, Vivian Lavoie Rudolph; his sons, Jim Rudolph, and Rev. Jeffrey A. Rudolph; and his daughter, Kim Jeffers. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at First Assembly of God, 1739 S. Greenwood Avenue in Clearwater. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. at the church.
